In 2005, he moved to Moscow, where he worked as an Internet cafe security guard and worked as an extra in film and television. In 2006, Evgeny Alekhine became a student of the script faculty of VGIK.
Evgeny Alekhine’s creative career began in his native Kemerovo, and he gained fame in 2004, when he received a special prize “Voice of the Generation” of the Debut Award for his prose creations. A little later, his published works could be seen in the journals “Neva”, “October”, “Volga – XXI century”, “After 12”, the collection “Day of the Holy Electrician”, “Khrashchatyk” and many others.
In 2008, his acclaimed novel “Third Pants”, which the author himself calls children’s literature for adults, was shortlisted for the award.
