Irina Margolina was born in the city of Roslavl, Smolensk region on May 27, 1953. She is called one of the brightest and most talented personalities in the art of animation. He writes scripts for animated films and organizes animation projects as a producer. As a director, he shoots documentary and journalistic films, as well as films about animation.
Meanwhile, Irina Margolina started her career as a simple worker. She worked at a diamond tool factory as a high-frequency driller. Then she worked in high school as a chemist. But the vocation made Irina abruptly change her fate. She entered the editorial faculty of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Since then, she has written more than 150 screenplays.
Irina Margolina collaborated with Soyuzmultfilm and Multitelefilm studios, Georgia Film and Sverdlovsk Film Studio. She is a producer of M.I.R. studio.
She taught the history of European animation at the School of Visual Arts in the USA. She created several popular educational series dedicated to the art of animation. These are “Animation from A to Z” (1997), “The Age of Animation” (2003) and others.
She wrote several books: “I am a tree with roots up” (1998), “The Accidental Sun” (2000), “What is, who is” (1986-87).
She created a unique
Tales of the Old Piano cycle (2006). These are cartoons about great composers of the past. This work, like many others, has been awarded several international awards.
In the project “Modern fairy tales of the world” brilliantly interpreted well-known stories about three piglets, Red Riding Hood and other characters. Also widely known are such works by Irina Margolina as the cartoons “A Loving Crow” (1989), “Cat Concerto” (1987), “The Tale of a Stupid Husband” (19786).
