French writer Jean-Christophe Grange was born on July 15, 1961 in Paris. He studied at the Sorbonne and defended his thesis on Flaubert’s work. Having received a master’s degree in philology, Granger became an editor in one of the publishing houses. Since 1989, he has been collaborating with periodicals as a special correspondent, and this gave him the opportunity to travel around the world.
The next stage of Granget’s career was the creation of his own journalistic agency, his reports from “hot spots” were a great success and won several prestigious awards.
Granger’s journalistic experience served as the basis for many of his works, some of which even had the basis of his previous reports, like his first novel Flight of Storks (1994). His literary debut was not too noticeable, but a further attempt was more successful. In 1998, the author’s second novel “Crimson Rivers” was published, and two years later the film adaptation of this novel with the same name, carried out by the author, was released.
