The name of Australian writer Allan Jeffrey Yates. Under the name of Carter Brown, he published more than 150 detective novels, novels and short stories, the last of which were published in the early 80s of our century. Allan Jeffrey Yates was born in London, served in the Royal Navy during World War II, then worked as a sound engineer at Gaumont Studios, and in 1948 moved to Australia. Since 1953, he has published seven to eight novels and novels a year. In 1958, Yates published under his own name the novel Cold Night, and in 1966 he began to write under the pseudonym Carolina Farr.
