Born in Leningrad.
The viewer remembered this girl for the role of Mashenka Palkina in the series “Russian Scarecrows”. Not every beautiful actress will agree to selflessly and desperately spoil their appearance for the sake of the authenticity of the role. The director of the film Yuri Mamin - the author of the film "Window to Paris", etc. - set a condition for the actress - for the image she should not only wear funny round brown glasses, but also learn to "mow" with her eyes. Katerina boldly “mown” a whole fourteen series of eighteen, and as a result brought her eyes to the state of an eye hernia. The doctor of the Eye Center said to her: “You mow another series and you lose your left eye.” But the “game cost a candle” – the image of a charming cross-eyed idiot in round glasses was so beloved by the audience that later, the authors of another equally successful series “Be Not Born Beautiful” decided to borrow the image first created by Katerina Ksenieva. According to Yuri Mamin: “Only strabismus Mashenka Palkina producers STS replaced braces for teeth”.
While still studying at the Theatre Academy, Katerina Ksenyeva won the student competition of Russian romance performers, and in 1997 she received second place at the Competition of Young Variety Artists of the North-West "AYUM-97". But until now, Katerina has gone into the acting profession, simultaneously preparing two vocal projects: Russian-language and English-language albums with songs. The producer of the Russian-language disc is the legendary patron of many rock groups and the ideological inspirer of youth rock festivals Andrei Tropillo. And on English-language songs Katerina Ksenieva works with sound producer Andrei Samsonov, known for his latest work with Mark Almond. One of the tracks from the upcoming album has already entered the soundtrack to the new film by Yuri Mamin "Don't think about white monkeys" (release of the picture - January 2007)
Katerina Ksenieva graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre Art in 1998, making her debut on the stage of the State Theatre “Comedian’s Shelter” in the sensational play “Santa Cruz” based on the romantic play by Max Frisch in the main dramatic role. The director of this youth play was the famous actor and director Yuri Tomoshevsky.
The film "Bitter" in 1997 became her debut in the big cinema. The role of the romantic bride of the 60s was episodic, but very sincere and memorable.
In 2004, the director of the series “Streets of Broken Lanterns-6” Kirill Kapitsa invites Katerina Ksenieva to play the role of a fatal woman killing her former lovers with a sniper rifle in the series “Sniper”. Oddly enough, this role earned Katerina the respect of military officers and ordinary spectators.
In 2005, Yuri Mamin commissioned Katerina Ksenyeva to play the dramatic role of a girl who escaped from a psychiatric clinic in his big film project with a Buddhist name - "Don't think about white monkeys". According to Katerina Ksenyeva, this role brings her character spiritually closer to such rebels as Viktor Tsoi and Mickey Rourke, who always hated lackeys, Chaldeans and the conjuncture. Of course, as always, Katerina Ksenieva plays here herself and only herself. "The very thought of stuffing my role with "lots" characteristic of all actresses playing mentally ill women, was intolerable to me. I went to mental hospitals, absorbed this musty, stinky and sick air, looked at these sick people and realized that you just have to be yourself in the circumstances proposed. On the one hand, I'm enough "crazy" yourself and I will not be bored. On the other hand, it took me one, first visit to a mental health clinic to get physically ill. As a result, I am not ashamed of my character Dashenka in front of my audience. She's real.
Katerina Ksenieva went into production with her head. To date, she is the ideological inspirer and general producer of the Russian-American project “Rockman” about the life and work of the outstanding Soviet musician Leonid Utesov. She called her project “subsidiary”, because she devotes her hot production activity exclusively to the directorial talent of Yuri Mamin, who should embody Utesov’s life on the screen.
Katerina Ksenieva enlisted the support of the American side in the person of Alex Fasman and the Dutch side in the person of Andrei Tropillo.
On the American side, according to her plan, the project will involve the brightest representatives of American black jazz and well-known black actors in the United States. From the Russian side, the best actors of the country will be involved in Yuri Mamin’s new film. The candidacy of an actor capable of playing such an extraordinary and controversial personality as Utesov is currently being discussed.
"This is my mission. My father is an outstanding creator who has won the love of thousands of viewers and many international awards with his films. In life, he is a true citizen of his country, a true knight and a patriot. He and only he is able to remove the piercing history of the relationship between creator and power.
My mission is to make sure there are fewer racists in the world after watching this film. The heroes of the project “Rockman” are talented, inspired musicians, the most charming guys. The color of their skin and the size of their noses make no difference to human values. Now that the homeland of black American jazz, New Orleans, has suffered a terrible tragedy, we need to remind people that without this Great Creative Invention of the twentieth century, our lives would be so dreary! I really want New Orleans to be reborn. With this project, we will return the interest of the general public to the great musicians of the past and the authentic black American jazz, without which the twentieth century would be saturated only with the smoke of terrible wars.
