Born August 8, 1914, Ekaterinoslave (now Dnepropetrovsk) Laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR named after T. G. Shevchenko (1971); People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1977). He studied at the Studio School of the 2nd Moscow Art Theater (1933-1936, class S. G. Birman), the A. K. Glazunov Music School. In 1929-1932 he was an actor of the T. G. In 1929-1932 he was an actor of the T. G. Shevchenko Dnepropetrovsk Theater, in 1936-1938 he worked in parallel with his studies at the music school at the Yermolova Moscow Theater under the direction of N. P. Khmelev. From 1938, while serving in the army, he worked in army ensembles of song and dance, in 1941-1945 - in front-line brigades. Since 1947 - actor of the Zankovetskaya Theatre (Lviv).
