Masterboy, a German Eurodance band, was formed in 1989 in Barden-Wertemberg by composers Enrico Zambler and Tommy Schlech. At different times, the vocalists were Beatrice Delgado, Linda Rocco and Anabel Kai.
The debut album The Masterboy Family was preceded by three successful singles. The first song “Dance To The Beat” was released in 1990 and for 4 months did not descend from the top lines of various charts. Like Technotronic's "Get Up!", "Los Del Rio"'s "Macarena," Masterboy's single "Shake Up And Dance" also achieved significant success at the time.
The next album comes out two years later. The album “Feeling Alright” attracts the attention of listeners around the world. "Fall in trance" hits many European charts. The next single "Everybody Needs Somebody" takes only 41st place in the national charts, but is in the top ten in Brazil and France. 1994 hit "Feel The Heat Of The Night" a few months after its release, receives gold status in Germany.
After the release of the album “Different Dream”, the band went on a concert tour. During this period, Masterboy became extremely popular on the French and Brazilian scenes. In 1996, the band received the Chartbreaker Prize as the most successful band of the year. In 2006, the album "The Best" was released, including several new songs.
The greatest success of the group achieved in the mid-90s in Europe, Asia, Oceania and South America. Masterboy musicians are among the brightest representatives of the phenomenon of energetic Eurodance, which originated at the intersection of club dance and pop music. Other popular artists of this period are Maxx (Get-A-Way is one of the band’s four singles), Magic Affair, Fun Factory, Corona, 2 Unlimited, E-Type, and Mr. President. Along with E-Type's "Calling Your Name" and "Russian Lullaby", the singles "Masterboy" "Everybody Needs Somebody" and "Is This The Love" gained great popularity at the time.
