Fear Factory, an American heavy metal band, was formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California. The band's founders are vocalist Bart Bell, guitarist Dino Cazares and drummer Raymond Herrer. Their first album, Soul of New Machine, was released in 1992. In the mini-album "Fear Is The Mindkiller" becomes noticeable influence of industrial metal.
The 1994 album Demanufacture was well received by music critics and the public. The band's compositions have a "fantastic" character, the songs are dedicated to robots, cyborgs, the war between machines and people.
The album Remanufacture was released in 1997. The disc compositions are remixes of the previous album with the addition of electronic music. Industrial band Rhys Fulber and some DJs are invited to record the album.
In March 2002, the band broke up due to conflict, but reunited a year later, with the exception of guitarist Dino Cazares. The team includes bassist Biron Stond, guitarist becomes Christian Old Wolbers. In April 2009, Cazares again joined the group. Place behind the drums is occupied by Wiena Goglan, and Bell and Strand return to their roles. Four Factory recorded the album Mechanize. However, former members of the group, Wobers and Herrer, challenge the legitimacy of the group.
The genre of compositions "Fear Factory" is a mixture of such styles as death metal, industrial metal, thrash metal and groove metal. The band’s music has had a significant impact on the development of the genre since the mid-90s. The band participated in three Ozzfest festivals and opened Gigantour. The singles "Fear Factory" were in the 40 best American "Mainstream Rock". The number of concerts by 2001 exceeded 2000, and the circulation of albums in the United States alone is more than 1 million copies. /
