As a child, Robert received guitar lessons from Don Strike for three years and from the age of thirteen he played in the Ravens group. After two part-time years at Bournemouth College, Fripp begins a music career. In 1967, he formed the band Giles, Giles, and Fripp, which had only one album and two singles. After its dissolution, Michael Giles and Robert Fripp founded the band “King Crimson”, which many consider as the founder of prog-rock. Fripp is also involved in other projects. In 1972 and 1974, together with A three-year break, during which Fripp is fond of the teachings of George Gurdjieff, ends with participation in the recording of the debut disc.
