Arch Enemy, a Swedish death metal band, was formed in 1996 in Halmstad by Christopher and Michael Emott. The group "Arch Enemy" plays in the genre of melodic death metal, which is characterized by greater beauty of guitar parts and the use of vocals.
Prior to the creation of Arch Enemy, Michael Emott played in the band Carcass and the stoner rock band Spiritual Beggars. After the offer of the label “Wrong Again Records” to release a disc in the same style, Michael assembles a new band. So with the participation of his brother Christopher (guitarist), vocalist Johan Liiva, as well as drummer Daniel Erlandsson, the disc “Black Earth” appears. The disc was experimental, but unexpectedly for all participants of the project is gaining popularity in Japan. Arch Enemy is touring in this country.
The second studio album brings the collective worldwide fame. Stigmata is produced not only in Japan, but also in Europe and North America. After the release of Burning Bridges, it becomes apparent how the Arch Enemy style gradually evolves. The lyrics do not change, but the music acquires a heavy melody. The 2000s saw the release of Wages of Sin and Arch Enemy’s Dead Eyes See No Future. Albums are warmly received by listeners.
In 2005, the album Doomsday Machine was released. The single "Arch Enemy" "Nemesis" receives a great response among fans, a video clip is shot on it. The album itself has a circulation of 12 thousand copies and occupies the 87th position in the Billboard 200 rating. Also on this record is the composition “Arch Enemy” “My Apocalypse”, recorded by vocalist Angela Gossov, as well as other tracks. Later, the singer continued to collaborate with the band Arch Enemy. Clips shot on these two compositions also attract the attention of fans of the genre. In 2007, the band recorded their seventh studio album. /
