Natalia Zagorinskaya was born in Moscow. At the age of seven, she began playing the piano at the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1984, she entered the vocal faculty of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she was engaged in solo singing in the class of Professor Vera Kudryavtseva. In 1984, she entered the vocal faculty of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she was engaged in solo singing in the class of Professor Vera Kudryavtseva. After graduating from 1990 to 1992, she continued her studies at the postgraduate school of the Moscow Conservatory.
In 1991, Natalia Zagorinskaya became a leading soloist in the troupe of the Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera" under the leadership of Dmitry Bertman and with great success performed the main roles in most productions, including Lisa in "The Queen of Spades", Tatiana in "Eugene Onegin", Katerina Izmailova in "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensky County", Rosalind in "The Bat" and many others. In 2001, she performed the role of Alice Ford in a new production of J. Verdi’s opera Falstaff. In 2003, she acted as Emilia Marti in the Russian premiere of L. Janacek’s opera The Makropoulos Means. In 2004, she played the role of Sister Blanche in the brilliant Russian premiere of F. Poulenc’s opera “Dialogues of Carmelites” staged by Dmitry Bertman.
Natalia Zagorinskaya performed in the best concert halls in the world (live broadcast from Radio Hall in Los Angeles, Radio France Hall). In 1993, she performed Bach's C Minor Mass in Helsinki during the Christmas Festival. At the 1997 Edinburgh Festival, she performed works by Luigi Nono with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Zagorinskaya regularly performs at the festival “La Batie” in Geneva, where she performed “The Wedding” by Igor Stravinsky, “Les Pleurs” by Edison Denisov, “Terzina” by Castiglioni, “Tre Poemi” and “Commiato” by Luigi Dallapiccol, “Messages de feu demoiselle Troussova” by Georgy Kurtag and “Chant apres chant” by Jean Barrack. In 1998, she sang Elliot Carter's "A Mirror on Which to Live" and Pierre Boulez's "Improvisation sur Mallarme I/II" with the Nieuw Ensemble in Amsterdam and Alban Berg's "Lulu" suite with the Calouste Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon. In 2002, she performed "Scène d'un roman" and "Requiem for the beloved" by George Kurtag at the Victoria Hall in Geneva. She performed Dmitri Shostakovich’s 14th Symphony with the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Saarbrücken (live broadcast, 2004) and in Geneva at Victoria Hall (2005).
In 2006, Natalia Zagorinskaya successfully performed the main parts in the premieres of Helikon-Opera: Mermaid by A. Dvorak and Siberia by U. Giordano.
Winner of the National Theatre Award "Golden Mask" in the nomination "Best Actress" (1998) for the role of Carmen in the play "Carmen".
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1999). People's Artist of Russia (2006).
