Herzfeld’s works are unlike anything else due to sarcasm, eccentricity, black humor of their author. Some critics have earned the animator the nickname Kubrick or Lynch animated. In terms of creativity, Herzfeld is a rather significant figure: his works are constantly shown at international film festivals, he is a winner of numerous awards (for the cartoon “Rejected” he almost received an Oscar). Don Herzfeld is also considered an expert in animation.
Herzfeld does not recognize any computer graphics, he draws his cartoons by hand with a pencil, using 16- and 32-mm cameras, photo filters, double exposure.
