Since 1989, Angela Merkel’s political activity began as a press secretary in the newly created Democratic Breakthrough party. In 1990, at the first elections to the Bundestag, a young politician received a deputy mandate. In 1994, she was appointed Minister of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
In 2005, Angela Dorothea Merkel was elected as Federal Chancellor of Germany after the victory of the CDU in early parliamentary elections. /
