May Miles was born in 1959 in Glasgow. He graduated from art school there. During his career he tried himself in a variety of cinematic professions - worked as a production artist, screenwriter, editor, production operator, producer and director.
As a director, he began working in the mid-1980s on BBC television, where he created documentaries and music videos, and then moved on to writing and directing. Thomas's work also includes the mystical thriller The Devil's Plantation, a number of other works.
