The animator was born in the California city of Hasienda Heights, graduated from the College of Design in Pasadena, where he studied illustration and design, and then gained experience in the creative workshops Oblique Strategies and Angel Studios, where he met Warren Nang and Stephen Olds, respectively, artists who had a great influence on his formation.
