Greed and stupidity are the worst combination on earth. The black comedy genre is quite interesting, but something worthwhile from films of this genre is extremely rare. Either the director gives the toilet humor as black or in the middle forgets that he shoots a black comedy and the film appears false seriousness. Well, let's look at today's hero, and what he can surprise us, meet - Trap!
The plot from the very beginning sets in the right way. Two hapless criminals, bound by blood ties, kidnap the daughter of a criminal tycoon, thanks to divine intervention, and take her to an abandoned cottage in the middle of the wilderness in the hope of obtaining a ransom. But as usual, everything goes wrong and the brothers are forced to escape from thugs sent by a loving father, from the daughter herself, who is not delighted with the fact that she was kidnapped and from a local farmer who prefers to eat a little man.
Thanks to such a simple plot, we can get to know the characters of the picture and perhaps love them. And God sees why. The same kidnappers, worked out to the smallest detail. David, the leader of the kidnappers, who tries to appear as a harsh criminal without any moral values and attachments, but as it turns out, he wants to tie up with his criminal past, and for this he only needs to get a ransom, buy a yacht and swim where his eyes look. And it's not his fault that he's got full-blown profane partners who will ruin everything no matter what they pick up. Or the kidnapping victim herself, Tracy. From the very beginning, the film makes it clear that the victims are those who attempted to kidnap the “innocent” lady. Even if the girl grew up on everything ready, but she can stand up for herself and with great eagerness beat anyone who not only touches her finger, but even looks obliquely. But there is also David’s younger brother, Peter, who is a hen-heeled man, a rag, trembling in his knees afraid of moths and does not favor logic with common sense. Actually, you can talk about each character for quite a long time, but it is better to see once than read ten times.
As for black humor, it happens only when it is in place, and to the place it is always there. True, closer to the climax, the film had every chance to turn into a serious movie, but the director clearly knew the measure, and this did not happen for which he bowed low.
Of the disadvantages, I want to note only a short duration. An hour and a half in the campaign of such charming heroes fly too fast, and I want more and more.
