Wealth and poverty are two sides of the same coin called Life. I watched this movie again yesterday. I really wanted to see Rekha-Jitendra and Rishi Kapoor again with them. The film tells about three love stories, the heroes of which are closely connected by family ties and not only.
History first: two old friends Narayan (Pran) and Kedar, having met after a long separation, decide to marry their children Rani (Punam Dhillon) and Rajesha (Rajbarejjah>Rajjah Rajbab>> Rajjah/b>>>> But his mother Shila, a wayward and calculating woman, offers his son to agree to the wedding in order to get all the wealth after the death of his father, so it is not reasonable for him to refuse the wedding. Rajesh, after a little reflection, agrees. The wedding took place, but already on the wedding night, Rajesh leaves his wife alone and goes with friends to have fun in the dancer's institution. He loses his head from her beauty and dancing.
History II: brother Rani, Hira (Gitendra), having quarreled with his father, leaves his native village and settles in the city, where he became famous for protecting the disadvantaged and defenseless (such Robin Hood). One on one, he throws right and left villains and bandits. Among his enemies is the head of the local gang Shersingh (Shakti Kapoor). Shersingh invites to his bar Sona, but the proud beauty refuses him and Shersinghcomes furious, but then suddenly appears Hira and starts In the heart Dreams, for the first time hearing respectful words addressed not as a dancer, but as a woman, a fire lit. Shersingh with his henchmen wants to rein in Hiru, which has become very popular in the city as a defender of the poor, offers him friendship. In honor of reconciliation, they arrange a party where the dances Son.
History III: Rajesh's sister, Giotty (Nilam) turns out to be engaged to a certain Dipac (Rishi Kapoor), but when they grew up, the financial situation of their families became different and the mother of Giotty simply refused to recognize this wedding. She does not want to associate the fate of her daughter with a beggar (Deepak works as a rickshaw). Deepak But, having learned about the old marriage, swears to fulfill the desire of his father and bring Jotti into his house no matter what.
In general, such an interesting interweaving of fates, the unification of families, the fusion of poverty with wealth, so much confusing, and so much interesting.
Pran - played perfectly Narayana, the headman of the village, father and husband, a poor but proud and honest man who lived on the principle of "poverty is not a vice" and considered the main thing - a clear conscience and self-respect.
Gitendra - an ardent fighter for justice, hot, unrestrained, ready to wave his fists for reason and without ... but chic and magnificent, as usual.
Rekha - again a dancer, courtesan, beautiful, impregnable and proud.
Punam - liked, well showed a girl raised in patriarchal traditions; she reveres her husband as a god, despite all his antics, endures all humiliation and insults from her husband and mother-in-law. At the end of the film, he also shows character.
Rishi Kapoor is the usual role of a good-natured and cheerful guy. He is in all his glory, I just admired him throughout the film. Nilam is also charming and cute, as always. They look very harmonious together with Rishi.
Shakti Kapoor What can I say? In the story, as always, a villain. But it looked colorful. Plus everything is still stately, tall and beautiful. This is able to turn the head of any girl, and having played with her, throw it on the sidelines of life.
A lot of things are mixed, so many main characters and all each other's daughters-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers, fathers, etc. Of course, I've seen it a hundred times or more. But still, it's quite fascinating. All heroes are in the right place at the right time. Endless flights of action from village to city and back in seconds. In general, the film is good, although quite predictable for Indian cinema of the early 90s of the last century. The music of Lakshmicanta - Pjarela is melodic and beautiful. Most of all I liked the song, where Sonya met her future mother-in-law.
“Better a piece of stale bread and peace with it than a house in which there is a lot of sacrificial meat and quarrels.” Family happiness does not depend on material well-being or a comfortable life. Family happiness is where people respect and love each other. Where there is mutual understanding and calm. Happiness is where everything is done together. In fact, this moment - the pursuit of life for wealth, convenience, privilege - is familiar to many families. And yes, behind all this tinsel, behind intrigue and insidiousness, sometimes the thread that connected you with your loved one is lost. I remember here an interview with Philip Kirkorov, when he said - "I lived with Alla in a small apartment, and somehow everything was kind, mentally." Closely yes, but well and quietly. And how they moved into a big house - everything went awry ...". That's what you think - but the truth is, the happiness of the poor is real, alive. In India, more than half of the population live below average – and are happy! It is the same in our country.
It is interesting to see what happens to a woman who is not allowed to express her real self, she does not even dare to give a voice. Also an important point is the piggy bank of grievances. Oh, yeah, that's familiar to every couple. You accumulate grievances, keep silent about them, and then - an explosion! - and everything pours out, and even so not beautiful, pickled ... Therefore, grievances should be discussed, explained, and not concealed. The film is also interesting because it shows how people live in a community, in poverty, but help each other in everything. How different are the people in India from us?
The film "Wealth and poverty" I want to watch without interruption, and those who watch for the first time, want to know what to end the film. After watching, we can say, although a banal thing, but invariably important for many centuries in the life of mankind - money is not the main thing in life, the main respect, understanding, support of relatives and friends, because without this in the world can not live. And no matter what anyone says, it is impossible to buy back the life of a deceased person, it is impossible to buy health for a terminally ill child, it is impossible to return innocence to a young girl - all the riches of the world are powerless before the sorrows and troubles of fate.
