Having survived the tragedy and lost one child, the main character (Julia) moved away to completely ignore the second, her own child. Perhaps there are such consequences of psychological trauma. But it lasted more than sixteen years ... strange ... and suddenly everything changes! ... with the advent of a vagrant girl (Louise) begins a series of strangenesses and the lack of logic in the behavior of our heroine. In a hysterical fit, she accuses Louise of cheating: where is my money? The money that she herself, after a minute and a half of fleeting communication, without much hesitation and without demanding anything in return, “given” her ... either out of pity or out of sympathy, succumbing to emotions from Louise’s tearful story about a difficult life situation ... and now suddenly give her an advance report with the attachment of all the checks ... well, strange ...
The fit of anger has passed, and the next strange thing is that Julia lets this swindler into her house... not to visit, but to live... an attraction of unheard-of generosity! But soon she drives away ... and opens her doors again ... this pull-pull will last forever ... The life and behavior of our heroine is changing radically. Involuntarily remember the cartoon “Bobic visiting Barbos” and the film “Pretty Woman”, when the intelligent, staid, educated hero Gere and, of course, his money turn the girl of frivolous behavior into a dazzling lady. The question is, who will win in this case?
For me, there is too much illogical and contradictory about the behavior of the characters and the stories in which they manifest themselves.
Once upon a time there was a beautiful and happy woman Julia (Sigourney Weaver) she had a little baby daughter Maggie. Once walking in the park with her daughter, Julia lost sight of her forever. After 16 years, the woman never fully recovered - she broke up with her husband, estranged from her son and, in fact, lost interest in life. But one day she meets young Louise (Kate Bosworth), and the women begin to be friends. The girl planted in the soul of Julia the hope that one day a daughter will be found.
A woman’s tragedy is a mother’s nightmare. For the viewer, they show only a moment of life with her daughter, literally a few minutes, but how happy she is! And after losing a completely different person: withdrawn, unsociable, Julia lives her life on the machine. But on her life path, Louise meets and, as you know, this girl is the personification of that very daughter, an outlet and a breath of life. Julia becomes bright, smiles again, forgets about the heaviness that has accumulated in her soul for so long. But can Louise replace her daughter? And who is she anyway?
“Girl in the Park” is a pure drama, slow and immersing in its atmosphere somewhere joy, somewhere bitter. Despite the difficult subject of the loss of a child, the film looks easy, it leaves hope in the heart. You feel a special thrill when the heroines come together. The fact is that the meeting of these 2 women is not accidental, one was looking for a mother, the other daughter. Finding in each other what was so lacking, you can find peace and tranquility. It is important for people to be in harmony with themselves. The question arose in my head: is it possible that losing some people, later a person gains other important and relatives? But on the other hand, is it necessary?
I’ve never thought about who I like so much from an actress. Men’s actors popped up in my head, and I don’t even know of women. Having watched Alien recently, and after this tape, I realized how much I like Weaver. She can play both a brave woman and a mother in despair, she is so different, and her emotions, like a whirlpool, you want to watch her, considering her inimitable acting. Bosworth also stands out, playful, restless, her heroine is like a child, which in principle is logical in the plot. The duet of these actresses is built on contrasts, attracting the attention of the viewer, focuses on several emotions at once, you will experience, sympathize, rejoice, all together!
Life is arranged in such a way that a lot, alas, does not depend on us, but sometimes it is worth listening to your heart and becomes a little happier. I highly recommend it!
A good example of a film where everything is tied to the story being told, which is tragic and touching in itself and is also quite real, both in terms of the loss of a child (here the only aggravation of the presentation of feelings in the film, in the formulation as well), and the further "daughter-mother" - about the unloved and unloved. Due to the interest of the story itself, it is enough not to interfere with the "spouting" on the audience, the "focuses" of cameramanship, non-life twisting of the plot, excessive amplification in the presentation of emotion to the viewer or pay attention to the actor's compressions more than necessary.
And the author does it perfectly - the created work does not repel the viewer and does not gut emotionally, smoothly, without a hitch and a hitch, I follow the plot, and not even entertaining, but just qualitatively filling the sphere of the senses, leaving hands and head free, for household chores.

Career in the cinema with the director and screenwriter of the drama “Girl in the Park” David Auburn started in the middle of zero: in 2004, from his pen came the script for the film “Proof”, the main roles in which played Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal. Moreover, Auburn also participated as a playwright, writing a play on “Proof”. Two years later, Auburn became the screenwriter of the film “House by the Lake”, which again united the triumphant duo from the action “Speed” Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. And in 2007, Auburn decided to test himself in the status of not only the sole screenwriter, but also the main director of the film “Girl in the Park”. Sigourney Weaver, Kate Bosworth, Alessandro Nivola, Keri Russell and Elias Coteas agreed to participate. But after the premiere of “Girls in the Park” David Auburn went off the radar of cinema.
According to the script, everything begins in a fairly friendly and respectable American family. Husband, wife, eldest son and youngest daughter, in which the mother does not like the soul. One day, as it often happened, mom and daughter went for a walk in the park and everything seemed to be as usual, but suddenly the baby disappears. A distraught mother searches and calls her everywhere, eventually the police join in, but painfully long hours pass, then days, then months, and then years... The action is postponed for a decade and a half ahead. From that close-knit family remained fragments: the mother lives alone and left the city where the tragedy occurred, so she was closer to the grown-up son, who is preparing for marriage. But the woman became unsociable and withdrawn, the tragedy broke her psychological state and it immediately catches the eye. And then one day she meets a girl, the age of the lost daughter. Thus began the difficult and sometimes strange relationship between Julia and Louise.
Based on the cast, it immediately becomes clear that the main star of the film is the famous Ellen Ripley, that is, actress Sigourney Weaver. Far before "Girl in the Park" she proved to everyone that her acting range is multifaceted and she can be considered a dramatic actress. Perhaps, it is thanks to the game Weaver “Girl in the Park” really has drama: her character is a very complex woman who has closed herself in, practically she has become a sociopath who does not take into account the opinion of other people, including those from the closest environment. But at the same time, along with the drama that broke her psyche, she shows that Julia is not all right with her head. And how else can you treat a woman who brings a homeless girl into her house, who trades in fraud and theft, and trust her in everything? And it is in relation to Louise that the poor heroine Weaver reveals herself, while at the same time avoiding communication with her own son. The background of the character is clear only thanks to the revealed image from Sigourney.
But if all the actors would show themselves as the main star of "Girls in the Park." In fact, you can scold the son of Julia, played by Alessandro Nivola. After all, he like no one understood that the mother is not in himself, she needs help, but this often causes signs of aggression in his son, he is excitedly trying to convey to his mother the badness of her actions, but talk calmly, try to understand her - this is not about the hero of Nivola. One could blame the actor himself, but in fact the timing of his participation in the film is very stingy, so it turns out that neither he nor his fiancée, played by a good actress Carey Russell, was simply not allowed to open. At the same time, almost all the attention, except for the character Weaver, is focused on Kate Bosworth, playing Louise. In zero Bosworth was recognized as one of the most beautiful and hottest women according to the authoritative men's magazine "Maxim", but in "Girl in the Park" it was not necessary to show this, a dramatic game was necessary, but Bosworth showed only a rebellious girl, whose life often ends with a syringe in a vein or on the track, and then she got the chance to live, albeit with a slightly strange woman, but start all over again. And the choice is her: to be free, hitchhiking, or settle down. And yet, Bosworth cannot be called a reference, deep game, it would only be an electric guitar in her hands, and a can of beer - this is exactly what Bosworth showed in her Louise.
The film is absolutely not mandatory to watch. Rather, it is suitable for those who are ardently fanatics of the heroine of the saga about “Alien”, here the high-rise actress shows her excellent level of skill in the case of dramatic characters. But the rest of the screenwriter “House by the lake” expected more.

We meet hundreds of faces every day, but why is someone destined to play a more important role in our lives than everyone else? Do we unconsciously program ourselves to pay attention at the decisive moment to the person who will change us? Or is some higher force connecting two life threads that, it would seem, should not have common ground?
This is a drama about two women whose relationship story echoes the distant tragedy of one of them. Julia is a woman closer to fifty, whose daughter disappeared 16 years ago on the playground in the park. She is immersed in herself, as if day after day, reliving the moment when she could not get her daughter. She gave up creativity, divorced her husband. A brief encounter in a cafe makes her pay attention to a girl in her twenties who seems to be going through a difficult time. It's Louise. She, as they say, lives one day, gives the impression of a very frivolous person who does not draw clear boundaries between reality and fiction, but has an unstoppable energy.
Julia sees her missing daughter in Louise, freeing herself from the shackles of the past. She's surprised she can still be happy. Louise's behavior is mysterious, she just lets her new acquaintance be worth the illusion.
Will Julia and Louise be able to endure the meeting with the truth painlessly, or will it become a new tragedy for each of them?
Acting duo Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth surprises with the depth and subtlety of the relationship between their heroines. Largely due to this, the picture leaves at the same time a feeling of cozy warmth and fettering cold anxiety. Perhaps, the footage of the film should add at least another hour of sensations after — so wide and deep it seems.
P.S. I want to call my parents immediately.

“Girl in the Park” is a worthy touching and sensual drama, which was shot in America, but the movie turned out not to be American, but deeper and more refined and similar in all qualities to European cinema. I love this drama, it touched and fascinated me. Cinema is one of my favorite dramas, and makes it so beautiful and worthy interesting, unusual story and play of the main character. The film turned out to be clean and high-quality, and real connoisseurs of worthy dramas will appreciate this film positively.
We see a woman who lost her little daughter, and from that moment her whole life collapsed and went wrong. She closed herself and protected herself from all her loved ones. A few years later she meets a young girl, and then comes the intrigue that this is her daughter, and it is incredible, and we see an incredible, sensual story of communication between a woman and a young girl, and we see the hope in the heart of a woman that this is her daughter.
This drama is intriguing by the fact that the viewer was always deceived, and when watching, you want to know whether she is her daughter or not. I liked the movie very much, and its story is remembered well, it is not like anything, and I have never seen it before. This drama carries deep thinking and no doubt cinematic value. I always recommend it to those who have not seen it. She fascinated me, and the heart and soul of the film is American actress Sigourney Weaver. She played as beautifully as ever: emotionally and emotionally. Her play was talented and believable, and in the lead role she looked chic. I love this actress, there is something extraordinary about her and she is a strong dramatic actress who always looks worthy in challenging, emotional roles. This role is one of my favorites and it touches me to the core. There is something about Sigourney that is clean and bright that makes her such a beautiful and strong actress. Kate Bosworth is an actress that I never really liked, but she played well in this drama, and this movie is her best role for me. I liked the duet of these actresses and remember them well. Their story really touched me and I enjoyed watching the drama. Alessandro Nivola is an interesting and charming actor who always looks good in dramas, and in this film I was pleased to see him.
"The Girl in the Park" is a deep and dignified drama, not watching which means really losing a lot. The movie was strong and touching. Director David Auburn made only three films: “House by the Lake”, “Proof” and “Girl in the Park”, and all his films turned out to be worthy and interesting. I love this director’s work and his style. In all his films, there is a deep drama and sadness, but he shoots it with talent and taste. "Girl in the Park" is my favorite film of his, and it has a deep meaning, an interesting atmosphere, an original story and a wonderful actress who so talentedly and tastefully played the lead role.
