A story of bravery It's almost as if it were real.
The world is virtual - it is clearer and closer.
“Courageous Heart” is a full-length anime based on the fantasy wound of Miyuke Miyabi, throughout the viewing I felt the atmosphere of the RPG game.
The story tells us about the boy Watar and his new friend Miyuk, who are magically transported to another world full of magic and magic. And it was this world that reminded me of online gaming. Everything here says about it - fantastic creatures, various inhabitants resembling different game races, quests with collecting artifacts and guilds.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find the original source. I was able to find a manga based on it that came out before the movie. Manga is a more adult, dark work. The main difference from the film adaptation is that we were initially shown that the characters play the game, the heroes of which later become.
My impression of the film is ambivalent. On the one hand, this is a good anime, designed for a teenage audience, despite its childhood in visual and narrative terms. The age limit for him is 16+, a little overstated, I think. If you think of it as a simple adventure film, a hero who overcomes his problems through friendship and magic, through the realization of the strength of his spirit, is a good film. After all, such important topics for any person, he reveals very believably, beautifully and correctly.
The second impression for me is more interesting, deeper and more necessary. If we take into account the fact that all this time the characters were not magically transferred to another world, but played a game. Suddenly, everything takes on a more dramatic, yet more plausible and important meaning. How many people can hear the indignation that children are too immersed in the virtual world, too long to play computer games. But there are reasons for everything that happens. If the virtual world becomes more attractive to a person than the real one, isn’t it worth the problem? Wataru faces challenges that a ten-year-old child simply cannot solve or change. The pain, resentment, resentment, and fear of his reality collapsing force him to leave for another world. In a world of fantasy and imagination, supported by a computer game. And there, in another reality, which is now possible to influence, simple and understandable for the child, finding objects and combining them. In this reality, he can become a hero, because he is looking for so many things - strength, courage, wisdom, happiness. None of the adults can help him find them, and a computer game has helped. I really enjoyed watching the film from this side, because I, as an adult, finally knew the answer.
It doesn’t matter if your child becomes a hero in the real or virtual world, no matter where they make friends, what matters is how they feel in the here and now. It doesn’t matter what reality it will change, if it helps and changes a person for the better. The best way out, for us adults, will be a simple and clear rule - "Love your children." Then we will not destroy any of their realities.
