Masterpiece by Maestro Luigi Zampa! 5 years have passed since the release of the film “Blow the bell” and the director Luigi Dzampa took up the film adaptation of the novel “Roman” authored by the popular writer Alberto Moravia. He invited an old friend Gina Lollobrigida to the main role, because in the film “Blow the alarm” she showed herself in all her glory. It may be a little embellished on my part, but the fact that in that film she did not fail 100%.
I’ll tell you without misunderstanding: the film “Roman” is very, very worthy. It shows not just a woman with a twisted fate, but also reveals the hidden threads of the Italians during the reign of the Duce or Benito Mussolini, who like it more.
Adriana, a girl of 19 years old, beautiful, but without a dowry, lives with her mother in a poor neighborhood, in a poor apartment. To somehow make ends meet, she works as a model for one artist, but without what often happens between them. Her mother gnawed her whole tongue that she is super and hyper wooman and just a sin not to take advantage of such a gift of nature. What does it mean to take advantage? It is absolutely right to find a rich and wealthy man. But unlike the movie “Provincial”, where Gina does not need to ask about it, she does not want to listen to her mother and falls in love with the swindler Gino. But he did not live up to her expectations and with the help of one disgusting lady she goes to the panel. But if you think that's it, it's far from it. It's just beginning...
This tape is definitely not the kind you fall asleep with. Very competent directing, finely built and honed to the smallest detail. A beautiful script by Alberto Moravia, which Luigi Dzampa brilliantly brought to life. Gina Lollobrigida is very good, and in addition, there is Daniel Gehlen in the film, whom I met recently after watching the movie “Turn the Doorknob”. I won’t say that his game is supernatural, but on such a good level. I didn’t really miss lunch.
I also liked the fact that the main character of Adrian, with the way of life she led (there were more men in her bed than the Square of Rome) went to church, absolved her sins, communed and asked the Almighty for the salvation of the life of the one she really loved. And it was sincere, from the heart and really great!
Bravo Luigi Zampa! Bravo Alberto Moravia! And thank you Gina Lollobrigida for the pleasure!
