A movie that is probably "genetic" in memory. Of course, anyone who has not forgotten how to think understands that there was a “trench” truth, but are feature films made for its sake? We’ve been watching for almost fifty years, and every time the young guys stand in front of the tanks, tears come up. And it is impossible not to say about the worship of a woman. Remember when Koderidze invites girls to his birthday? It is impossible to imagine the “naturalistic” scene, the dirty hints with which many modern films abound – otherwise one would not have watched so many years with pain in their hearts. In this film, like "Only Old Men Go Into Battle", and many others of that time, it is shown why they went to death. And we should not forget this, so that people remain.
Don't touch us, we won't touch us! If you touch it, we won't let you down! We shall not drown in water, nor shall we burn in fire.
The indomitable will and courage of Soviet soldiers are still legends. Thanks to Soviet soldiers, the world managed to get rid of the most dangerous enemy for all living things - Germany. It was Soviet soldiers who liberated Europe from fascist invaders.
The plot of the film tells us about the feat of Soviet soldiers that occurred in 1944 near the Podbednya station. There, a platoon of "tank destroyers" took their final fight, in which the two main characters of the film serve: corporal Svyatkin, but his colleagues call him Swat, and junior lieutenant Suslin, who had just graduated from military school and was appointed commander of this platoon. At first, the relationship of Lieutenant Suslin with his subordinates does not develop very well, but especially with Corporal Svyatkin, who treats the lieutenant with contempt, and even sharpens him, despite the rank.
Lieutenant Suslin's platoon is sent to Podbednya station, where he must stop the Nazis who broke through the encirclement.
The plot also has another branch that shows us the events of the future, where the son of corporal Svyatkin and the daughter of junior lieutenant Suslin come together with other relatives of the dead soldiers to the Podbednya station in order to honor their memory.
Film analysis: The plot of the film in comparison with modern films such subjects may seem very boring and simple, but with its simplicity will not leave anyone cold-blooded, whether adult or child. The film does not leave indifferent not only the plot, but also the professionalism of the actors, who in my opinion played their role 100%. They were able to convey the emotions and feelings that soldiers felt, realizing that this was their last fight.
As for the film crew and the director, their work is also at a very decent level at that time. The director of the film is Leonid Fedorovich Bykov part-time and a professional actor. For the history of the directorial activity of Bykov, such famous films as "Only old people go to battle", "Volunteers", "My dear man", etc.
I liked the movie. I believe that such films should be shown to modern youth, so that they do not forget about who they owe the peaceful sky above their heads.

The heroism and courage of Soviet soldiers have been and will continue to be legends. After all, it was the Soviet army and its soldiers who became the first serious opponents for fascist Germany.
The film has two plots running parallel to each other and at different times. The first storyline with which the film begins takes place in 1974. New Lieutenant Colonel Konstantin Svyatkin receives an invitation to come to Podbednya station, where his father died. Konstantin goes to the station by train, where he meets Anna Valenstovich, who, like him, goes to the station to honor his father, junior lieutenant Igor Suslin. Other relatives of the dead soldiers were also invited. The initiative to collect the relatives of the victims belonged to Anna and the local chairman of the collective farm.
The second storyline takes place in 1944. Having just completed the accelerated course of command of the Red Army units, junior lieutenant Igor Suslin is appointed commander of a platoon, the so-called tank destroyers. One of Suslin’s subordinates constantly makes fun of him, as this one has just graduated from the “training” and has never been in combat. The joker is the corporal Svyatkin, whom his colleagues call “Svat”. The corporal had reasons to doubt and make fun of Suslin, Svyatkin was an experienced fighter, because he recently destroyed three German tanks, for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. The platoon is sent to Podbednya station, where the company commander orders Suslin to get to Ilyinka and spend the night there, and the next day move to Rumyantsev, where the junior lieutenant will receive further instructions. After that, Svyatkin asks Suslin for permission to celebrate the birthday of his son, Suslin allows. The next day, Sulin is called to the company, which is seriously injured. The colonel tells the lieutenant that during the night, a German group of tanks broke through the encirclement in the direction of Ilyinka. Suslin and his platoon are tasked with stopping this group.
Film analysis: The actors were tasked with showing the image of unbending and courageous soldiers who do not regret anything for their homeland, even life. The actors were great, you could even say they did a great job. Perhaps they were helped by the memories of their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War. After all, there is no family in which this terrible and bloody war would not be affected.
The plot is simple, but at the same time does not leave indifferent. Some people may think that the characters are not revealed, but I believe that in this film, this is not necessary. In my opinion, the characters of the film should be considered not as individuals, but as a collective image of Soviet soldiers and officers who tirelessly went into battle for their country, despite fatigue, monstrous losses, etc.
The director of the film and the performer of one of the main roles is Leonid Fedorovich Bykov. This is the second, and unfortunately the last successful and recognized film by Leonid Fedorovich. Despite his not the most successful career in cinema, Leonid Fedorovich is rightfully considered one of the best Soviet actors and directors. Leonid Fedorovich, in my opinion, managed to perfectly convey the main idea of the film. He and his team were able to show the dedication and heroism of Soviet soldiers, who in order to stop the soldiers did not spare even their lives.
I want to say that I liked the film. And acting and storytelling. It is such films that make people think about their actions and their consequences for others.
I would recommend parents to show their children such films, because they nurture kindness and compassion in them, as well as remember those who gave their lives so that today we have a peaceful sky above our heads.
Get up, get up a fellow soldier, take a coat, go home. And yet they won!
Happy Great Victory Day, friends! With the main holiday of our country, with a great holiday. Let there be only a peaceful sky above our heads and only a clear sun.
What is the day of victory without a war movie? Every year on this day, and on several previous and subsequent May days, we watch war movies. More specifically, a movie about war. A terrible war that cannot be forgotten. And we watch exactly the Soviet film about the war, which was filmed by people who have experienced or passed that war on their own fate and life, or who have directly come into contact with it. It is this film that is the most truthful and reliable, the most real and narrates about the real, unfictional events of those terrible years (unlike modern cinema about that war, filmed and played not reliably and not very sincerely (with rare exceptions), people who were already born and living many years after those terrible events).
Movie Aty-bats were soldiers" to this day remains one of the most favorite works about the Great Patriotic War. Along with another great film of those years, and also shot by Leonid Bykov - "Only old men go into battle" (which we also invariably watch on May 9). In this film, two storylines are intertwined - the actual military, which develops in the spring of 1944, and "peaceful", from the mid-seventies. Podbednya station is a typical settlement of the Soviet Union. Its inhabitants passed through sorrows and hardships, fierce battles took place here. And today, the relatives of those who died for the victory come to Podinna. They will remember the deeds of their ancestors.
Glory to the Soviet soldier! Glory to the winner! Glory to Russia! A very good, correct patriotic film about the heroic past of our great homeland. Honor and glory to the defenders of the fatherland. Excellent selection of actors of Soviet cinema, Leonid Bykov, Vladimir Konkin and others. The film is strong emotionally, takes the soul. Thank you for this movie. It's a wonderful movie. Amazing and sincere acting. And the platoon's death can't be watched without tears. And all this is the merit of the genius Leonid Bykov. Time only confirms the loss that our cinema suffered with the death of Leonid Bykov.
Film about the feat of heroes-Komsomol. They say there were only eighteen of them. They fought with superior enemy forces. They were able to stop a column of German tanks, and they paid a terrible price. Every soldier understands that going to war he may not return. However, there is hope in his heart that this will not happen and that the road home will always be open. The Komsomol platoon of 18 men did not put hope for their survival above hope for a peaceful life for their children. This is a truly courageous man. Years later, their children will come to their fathers’ battlegrounds to thank them for their lives. For a life under a peaceful sky!
Films about the war, specifically about the Great Patriotic War, occupy a separate place in any catalog. Better than our Soviet directors to convey the atmosphere, the situation, the time, no one can. Maybe because in our every family someone died in that war: grandfather, father, brother, uncle, sister, lover, bride, aunt. The film is very difficult to watch, displaying the real events of that terrible war. We must not forget the cost of our freedom. The last film by Leonid Bykov and his last role in the movie ...
A beautiful movie. Of those few who do not lose their sharpness and pain over time. The strongest and brightest moment of the film is the Order of the Red Star hanging on the bush along with a piece of a gymnast. It's not forgotten. I believe that any film by Leonid Bykov is a masterpiece of our Soviet (without division according to the nations that lived in the Soviet Union at that time), namely the Soviet (!) cinema. Despite the fact that our Soviet system was very unfavorable to Leonid Fedorovich, he could make such wonderful films. He had the courage to stand up in this confrontation.
The further we go from the tragic days of the Great Patriotic War, the brighter become films like the films of Leonid Bykov. It's like you're on the front line with them. Those who fought are leaving... I watch this movie, my child watches this movie, and I hope my grandchildren watch it. Leonid Bykov was able to shoot not just a good movie about the war, but a good movie about a man in war. As long as I watch the movie, everything hurts inside. How the image of each hero is written out. How did he manage to show us so many completely different destinies, so many different people who accomplished their common feat in one film? Just like a drop of water shows the unity of people, thanks to which we know the words - "Victorious 45th". A piercing soul was a man, some crystal clear conscience, immense soulfulness and incredible kindness. Only a person with such a soul could make such a piercing film about war, where every person is a man.
Great directors, great screenwriters, great cameramen have created a story about History. It is always the story of each individual. And so, a lump in the throat . A true art of cinematography. Thank you BYKOV and all the actors who played in his films for their sincerity. Thank you for the masterpiece films (especially for such films as "And the dawns are quiet here", "Officers", "Only old people go to battle", "In war, as in war", and others), about the Great Patriotic War! This is our history, this is our pain, this is our memory ... This is the hand of the Master!
On mass graves do not put crosses, and widows do not weep. ..

P.S.:The war bent and mowed them down, and it came to an end. Four years a mother without a son... Get your coat, let's go home... We are all war stray children, and the general, and the private, again spring in the white world.
Leonid Bykov was a unique person. He has repeatedly proved that he is not only a great director, but also a talented actor. This picture is often mentioned among the famous films about the war, and at the box office in 1977 it took the 7th place. Add to this the interesting fact that the film almost closes the Top 250 site 'Kinopoisk'. For all these reasons, I just couldn't get past.
Plot. A platoon of 18 tank destroyers was sent to Podbednya station with orders to stop a column of German tanks. After 30 years, the children of soldiers remember those fierce battles. . .
The narrative switches between the events of 1944 and the memories of descendants in 1974. The film itself is short, it only shows a small episode from a whole war. As a spectator, I would like to see more warfare, not talk, toast and memories. But all the short episodes that make up this story are perfectly interconnected. The plot is easy to remember and pleasantly surprises with its simplicity.
Atmosphere. The picture carefully balances between comedy and tragedy: a little humor in some situations (special zeal comes from the balagur Viktor Svyatkin) is replaced by sadness and deep sadness. The authors skillfully show the viewer that the characters are ordinary people who also want to love and enjoy life. Beautiful locations and excellent acting let the audience mood in the right direction for the authors, where they fully control it.
Music. The film presents wonderful songs that suited her perfectly. I also remember a disturbing melody sounding during a battle with tanks.
Result. A high-quality film about the fate of people during the Great Patriotic War and about the eternal memory and glory that the descendants of heroes keep.

- Breakfast - millet, lunch - millet, dinner - millet... Uzbek you bird, what?!
As it has long been known, Russian cinema produces a suitable product only on two topics - bandits and war. I have seen this film for the first time now, and I must say that there is some truth to this expression.
The film has two parallel storylines. One takes place in the 70s of the last century, in which the children of heroes who died in battle with a German motorized group that broke through the encirclement gather.
The second storyline will tell about the fight itself, and the events preceding it. By the end of the film, the lines close on the battlefield, which takes place on March 18, 1944 and the memory of which is honored by those gathered thirty years later.
The movie is actually just gorgeous. Then they were able to shoot, without any technical tricks and lotions. In those ancient times, this kind of films dragged the plot and acting. This is what happened here.
The story smoothly swings, gradually throwing new details, so as not to immediately dump on the viewer the entire load of two stories. Then it goes on increasing, leading to the main event. Along the way, several micro plots are weaved into the narrative, for a single bundle of plot.
The acting game is at the highest level. There are several clearly expressed images that lead the viewer through the entire film. The rest of the characters are created more to glue the plot and fill in the gaps of events. But despite this, everyone is in their places and there is nothing superfluous in the film.
- Crosses are not placed on mass graves, and wives do not weep on them.

The film is divided into two storylines that complement each other. One of the most important aspects of each war is the memory of the losses it has caused. And as long as we remember them, they were not in vain.
It feels like everyone in this movie lives among us. Each of them could actually exist in wartime. And a graduate who has just arrived at the front and loves order and discipline, and an experienced soldier who does not see much in training, and many others.
The identity of each character emphasizes the comprehensive composition of the fighters. But each of them is ready to give the last piece of bread, and even die for the other. Such universal heroism cannot but cause genuine pride. It is very sad that such a feat is remembered only once a year and sometimes for a tick.
The film shows that in war it does not matter what your character, mindset, appearance and worldview. In war you are a soldier and defender of the homeland, the rest does not matter.

It seems that absolutely everything lives and breathes in this picture, the landscapes are so beautifully shot, the moment of Kima’s unity with Igor is so trembling, the battle scene is so powerfully staged. And at moments when blood-red carnations fall on the snow or when a girl begs a soldier to survive, it becomes difficult to hold back tears.
Yes, in "Aty-bats, soldiers were coming" also some things are too noticeable. Many words "comrades", "Komsomol members", many intonations that accompany the above words. But still, this movie gets creepy. The very fact of good people dying. Brave fighters. Who shed blood and died. For the sake of future generations to live and make films about drunken officers and stupid soldiers in war.
Real men and somehow not modern sounds, real women, but that is how it is shown. The man shows courage and character, goes to death and tears his soul when watching this, I want to go there myself, to them and help the guys. Women show wisdom, which is now very little in the modern world, which is lacking not only women but also men.
Though something in the film was not finalized, but I just can’t say that “something” spoiled the film, it’s a masterpiece, the film should be watched by everyone, from the child to the old man and everyone will find something close.
For me, the strongest moment in this film is not the battle itself, when a Komsomol platoon of tank destroyers blocked the way for the Germans leaving the encirclement at the cost of their own lives (made indisputably wonderfully and powerfully), but the meeting of the descendants of the dead soldiers at the monument. The memory of the feat during the Great Patriotic War is erased over the years and those whose loved ones laid down their heads for the peaceful sky above their heads. Officer Konstantin Svyatkin is no exception, he grew up in an orphanage, the order of his father, whom he never saw more than a reminder of a distant war, and received a postcard with an invitation, he is in no hurry to go. But he understands that there is something to be proud of, for there are those who remember the feat of his father, who gave his life so that others could live. And in the memories of loved ones before the audience, soldiers – Krynkin, Koderidze, Glebov, Saiko, Khabanera, Svyatkin, Myatnikov and their commander Suslin – are rediscovered – filling hearts with pain. To be honest, I have tears covering my eyes when I see Koderidze’s son laying flowers at the place of his father’s death or the artist Miatnikov singing in the cold, who in such a simple and unsavory way pay tribute to memory. I don’t know why, but it seemed to me that the memory of descendants makes the feat of fathers immortal in the centuries. And the dialogue between Anna and Constantine, where she tells him about the only night of mother and father, with enthusiasm and happiness, and he talks about the values of fathers, so unlike vain conversations – “They had other values.”
I admire the film itself, which is not left indifferent (a special thank you to Boris Vasiliev for the script), and the actors who played the soul, and the directorial genius of Leonid Bykov, who managed in his films to convey to the viewer the war simply and clearly, but to convey to the heart and far corner of the soul that after watching I want to say - "Thank you to all who gave their lives for the Motherland!".

- A man does not cry, a man is upset.
We have made a huge number of films about the Great Patriotic War. Some are a little better, some a little worse. But there is a certain category of such films that does not fit any definition. These are legend films that don’t need to be evaluated. "Aty-bats, soldiers came ..." just like that.
There are two storylines in the film. One takes place in the 70s, the second thirty years before, during the war.
1. Exactly thirty years later, at the Pobednya station, relatives and friends of servicemen arrive, who at the cost of their lives held the armored group of occupiers.
2. The second (main) storyline tells us about these events. Starting from the formation of the platoon, ending with the last battle.
The film is woven several more side stories, such as the relationship of the young lieutenant with his platoon, and specifically sniffing gunpowder combat corporal. There is also a love story (without it). And also a number of relationships within the platoon. None of these secondary lines is superfluous, but on the contrary, they are all interconnected and complement each other.
All the actors did well. Maybe not all the images were revealed, due to the large number of characters, but the title roles were successful. Leonid Bykov (he also directed this film), Vladimir Konkin, Bogdan Benyuk, Vladimir Gerasimov, etc. perfectly fit into their roles and played amazingly.
A great movie that everyone should watch.
I am very surprised that I have just seen this picture. In fact, to my shame, I haven't even heard of her. But, finally, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with this beautiful work about the war, which forever left its tragic indelible mark in the life of our country and, of course, left a mark in art.
Pictures about the Second World War occupy a separate place in the history of Soviet cinema. It is worth noting that even now making films on this topic is becoming “fashionable”. Alas, after watching Mikhalkov’s masterpieces, I have only this word in my head.
However, no matter how hard Russian directors try now, how they would not pump huge funds into special effects, no matter how they try to make remakes of Soviet films about the war (since there are no ideas or scriptwriters for a long time), they still fail to achieve the amazing atmosphere that rolls the soul with cold, and the heart makes it shrink during watching.
Before us is a picture that describes the feat of ordinary soldiers who gave their lives for our Motherland, for their sons and daughters, for us.
Of course, the lion’s share of the success of this picture is a wonderful performance of actors. A wonderful Bull, which, in addition to being the director of this film, also plays one of the main characters of Corporal Svyatkin. This image is impossible to forget! I would also like to mention Conkin, who played a young man who faced all the horrors of war.
Yes, this picture is very clearly spelled out and shows the images of ordinary people from all over the Soviet Union who stood up to defend the Motherland!
This is an endlessly patriotic film that fills the soul with pride for fathers and grandfathers who fought for our present and future. It seems to me that now, when the propaganda of debauchery and idiocy from the same TNT is gaining momentum, such films should be shown to our children and young people. This is the kind of movie we need right now!
It's a must-see!
There were people. War, famine, and death, and they all remembered. Everyone was. What people were...
Dear friends, many of you have probably seen such a wonderful film as “Only Old Men Go Into Fight”? Someone saw it in a distant childhood, someone watched it for the first time literally the other day, and someone, like the author of these lines, the disc with the film takes pride of place on the shelf and is periodically revised. And yes, it's a great movie about war and peace. A movie that you can’t forget once. And in this wonderful film, there's a wonderful phrase:
Are you ready for the victory?
- Let's live, infantry!
And in this seemingly simple phrase, there were so many feelings and emotions that it was simply impossible to remain indifferent. The great Russian actor / director / screenwriter Leonid Bykov could not remain indifferent to this, who decided to pay tribute to the memory of Soviet soldiers who died in that war. Soldiers who fought for a better tomorrow and who did not back down even knowing that the forces were not equal and that the last battle awaited them. Because the struggle was not for some ephemeral goals, but for the future of us, dear friends. And in order to remind once again what the price was paid for the victory, a film was filmed, which was called simply and at the same time heartbreaking - "Aty-bats, the soldiers came."
*heavy sigh* It is very difficult to talk about the plot of the picture, as it shows what victory day for most people of the older generation is - a bright holiday where you can hear both laughter and crying, and sometimes both at the same time. How old people with a smile on their lips and tears in their eyes make a toast to those who are no longer there. How children with open mouths listen to the story of their grandmother that she was a child in the besieged Leningrad and who tries to smile as often as possible, struggling with heartache, that the heart compressed with an icy squeeze, because before the eyes of an elderly woman there was a picture of the blockade as a live one and as a soldier whose name she will never know, hands a piece of sugar to a hungry child and assures that everything will be fine. And that’s what this film is about. About the people who survived thanks to the feat of their fathers/brothers and about the young heroes themselves, some of whom were not even eighteen years old, who died near the Podbednya station and where they were erected a monument, for keeping the fascists and not allowing them to break into the village with peaceful citizens. Honor and praise to the fallen heroes!
Is it really worth continuing? Needless to say, the story turned out to be heartbreaking, even despite the fact that the viewer knows from the very beginning that the young guys died? Is it worth talking about the excellent musical accompaniment and hooligan song of the hero Leonid Bykov, who sang the whole platoon? Needless to say, the film delicately balances on the verge between comedy and drama, and the phrases pronounced by the characters can be pulled to quotes? Needless to say, the heroes of Leonid Bykov and Vladiyir Konkin create a stunning contrast, because one of them is a rare dickhead who, even faced with death face to face, has not lost his sense of humor, and the second tries to be a stern commander, but because of his good heart he does not succeed, but over time he earns from the soldiers of his platoon not so much respect as understanding and is perceived as “his own”? I don't think I should. And all because many of those present have already seen the works of Leonid Bykov, and those who have not yet seen them will be better to see for themselves, because no matter what I wrote it still will not be able to convey those feelings and emotions that arise during the viewing. “Aty-bats, soldiers came” from the category of films that you need to see not so much with your eyes as with your heart. This is a movie worth watching at least once. To remember our grandfathers and great-grandfathers and, no less important, the friendship of peoples, when a Russian, Ukrainian and Georgian fought side by side and were ready to receive a bullet intended for a fellow soldier. And this very friendship of peoples is so lacking here and now.

There are many war movies. Less, but also a lot of good movies about the war. This one makes you think not only about the war itself, about the grief it brought... but about how we preserve this memory!
We are farther away from those years, fewer and fewer among us are those who not only fought or saw war as a child, but at least had the opportunity to talk with those who have gone through it. We are horrified by what happened... Of course, we are proud of our Motherland, our People, and the feat they have accomplished.
But the years that separate us make that feeling a little different. Not so sharp and deep, but more ... "historical" or what?
And for me, this film, unlike many other good war movies, where the past is intertwined with the present, was special. Here, not only the present serves as a director’s device in order to tell a story, but the past with its piercing drama makes you feel what the “young” generation feels. It is no coincidence that this storyline is given a significant part of the film.
I don’t remember how many times I watched this movie. This time I decided to review it. So that everyone who has not yet seen the film by Leonid Bykov “Aty-bats, soldiers marched...” must watch.
The film tells about the feat of 18 soldiers who gave their lives for a small piece of land. Only their relatives and friends will know about this feat, but from such thousands and thousands of exploits of Soviet soldiers and exploits of those who worked in the rear, our common victory was created. And we, in turn, must not forget and honor the feat of our ancestors.
Leonid Bykov shot this film shortly before his death, during the filming he had another heart attack, which did not prevent him from finishing his work both as a director and as an actor. And the scene where he throws a grenade under the tank is so permeated with sadness and pain that he simply cannot leave indifferent.
Every time I watch this movie, tears come to my eyes. But I’m not ashamed, because “men don’t cry, men are upset.” Watch a great movie!
Three years before his death, Leonid Bykov shot a picture almost equivalent to his own “Only old men go to battle.” The film is about war, about strong male friendship, about uniting people of different nationalities for a common victory. When the enemy attacked our homeland, Bykov was 13 years old. He did not fight, but he remembered the post-war period well, and the state of inner pain and universal joy of victory was reflected in his films and in particular in Aty-baty, soldiers marched. Why did he decide to make this movie? So that we alive not only on May 9 and on our parent’s day remember those who gave their lives to save the Russian land!
And how can you find any roughness in the film, when the beginning of the picture is so touching and touching? The children of the dead soldiers gathered to honor the memory of their fathers, to remember from the stories of their mothers what their husbands were like. This alone shows what war is for Leonid Bykov. But the movie would not be so interesting, if you did not show the Bulls, the events of the war period, the period of life of fathers and brothers defending our Fatherland, chest stood in the way of fascist tanks.
And after all, the director did not show random running and shooting, did not show footage of newsreels, but made the movie bright, emotionally rich with the inherent Bykovsky humor. A young lieutenant Suslin (Vladimir Konkin) arrived in the platoon. But the platoon already has its leader, corporal Svyatkin or Swat, what his colleagues call him. The young platoon has no experience in warfare. For everyone, he is just the senior in rank, whose milk on his lips has not dried up. In general, Suslik has no authority, as his soldiers called him among themselves, and there is no mention of it. How to earn respect among his comrades and fighters in arms will tell Swat. He will tell in all colors, in a tragic and ironic manner at the same time.
A very gentle love line between the platoon and Kima (Elena Shanina). Such guys and girls are now unlikely to meet, who are timid with their true sincere feelings.
Can you go where you can't?
- Where you can, where you can't? You can go anywhere now because you are being killed.
A mentally useful picture that heals the soul and does not allow you to forget and betray the memory of those who fought. I advise all boys and not only them to watch this movie at least once in their lives and draw certain conclusions about what a real man should be.

Films about the war, I mean the Great Patriotic War, occupy a separate place in any catalog. Better than our directors to convey the atmosphere, the situation, then no one can. Maybe because everyone in our family died in that war: maybe grandfather, father, brother, mother, sister. The film is about a terrible time, when you do not know which of your comrades, with whom you shared the last piece of bread, the last puff of a samosad, you miss the next minute. And it's scary. It's a heavy movie. Leonid Bykov has no simple films, and this is no exception. The films of this great master do not leave anyone indifferent and are remembered forever.

I haven’t been over the movie in years, but what a delight I was after seeing it.
I think no one will talk about the quality of shooting or disassemble the film into fragments, this is completely inappropriate here. The movie, as they say, is real. Shows the war, from the side of human relations, shows that each of them is a hero, that were patriots, were people with a capital letter.
Personally, if I had the opportunity, I bowed to Leonid Bykov only for how he showed the love relationships of the main characters in this film, I found a lot of personal in these shots.
“To those who stand to death in the name of life”

In my opinion, such a movie should be made once a generation. In contrast to the Mikhalkovo "Citadels". In our time, you can shoot some thoughtful remake, where grandchildren meet or maybe even the great-grandchildren of the deceased heroes. To, so to speak, sustain the fire of faith in feat. Now it has become fashionable to rethink the war and shoot on the basis of such a rethinking another movie, where the orders are given by drunken Soviet officers, and the Germans are kind and to some extent unhappy creatures.
Leonid Bykov himself, the director of the film and the performer of one of the main roles, was not in the war. He was in evacuation in Siberia. But somehow he felt it. Or wanted to feel. Like Vysotsky, who wrote songs about the war, but who could not fight there, at least because of his age. And so Bykov turned out to be a film where everyone is friends with each other. Where everyone for one gives bread and a piece of sugar. Where everyone is one. Did that really happen? Watching movies like that, I want to believe it was. That they're heroes. That books, movies, monuments, eternal flames are all justifiable and deserved for them. That their parting with life for the sake of their land and their people should always be in our memory, not just on May 9, when the season of love and universal pride opens.
