In this city, murder is a form of entertainment. Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States, the second most important financial center of the country and the largest transportation hub in North America. Located on the southwest coast of Lake Michigan, Illinois; the administrative center of Cook County. ©
Well, here's what Chicago is, we've figured it out, now we're going to talk directly about the film, that is, about the musical, even not like this, now we're going to talk about the best musical in the world, in the history of mankind. Yeah, yeah, I'm not exaggerating, that's right. Don't you agree? Then argue with me, but I’m not going to convince anyone, because everyone has their own taste. But everything in order.
Raise your right hand, put your left hand on the Bible. Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
- Sort of. (c)”
The film begins very usually, nothing out of the row that comes out for the first 10 minutes. But, after the murder, or rather during the interrogation, something unusual begins to happen. "Sun gag in his mouth, that's the damn freak" (c) that's just after these words interest in the film begins to gain momentum. In the film there is “light”, for example, the combination of ordinary gray life with a cabaret life, where everyone sings and dances, where everything is good and very colorful.
And only later, when I was washing the blood from my hands, it dawned on me that there were corpses nearby!
I’m not going to say anything more about the film, because my meager vocabulary is clearly not enough to describe it all. So I'm going to talk about actors. And I will immediately say that most of all I liked Katherine Zeta-Jones. This is really the backup star of 2003. And no one can compare with her, except for Queen Latifah from the same Chicago.
"If you want salt in the porridge, season my stew, tuck your mother in the right way, I will repay you hotly!"
The main roles were not as brilliantly performed, but they were still performed at the level. Renee Zellweger sometimes pleased and sometimes let the audience down, mostly, of course, everything was fine, especially when she sang. Richard Gere probably already loved the role of lawyers, I definitely remember a couple of films where he was an advocate for criminals. But his character, Billy Flynn, as it should be, sometimes annoyed with his love of money, and sometimes delighted with how he cleverly came up with everything in court. But, most of all, he was remembered - John C. Riley or Mr. cellophane. I really feel sorry for him.
You can see who is standing next to you, who is made of bones and flesh, alas, they do not see as if behind a mile of inconspicuous, rejected post-station.
- Are you still here, Andy?
- Yes, I'm here as if" (c).
Result: The best film by Rob Marshall, moreover, which is the debut not in vain, received an Oscar and generally the best modern musical. I recommend it to anyone who has not seen this masterpiece yet! Immerse yourself in the world of beautiful songs, beautiful music, acting and interesting directorial techniques.
In “Chicago” sounds a lot of hits: “Prison Tango”, “When Mom is fine”, “Mr. cellophane”, and many more songs that are best listened to in the original, but if you do not know the language, no problem, because our translators have tried to fame.
