All metaphors are so transparent. A large family full of contradictions, grievances and unresolved disputes gathers in a country house. For them, the dacha is a matter of ambition, which turns into a polygon of passions. No compromises, just pressure and pressure. They seem not to notice that the house is dilapidated, and no one is really engaged in the land. Hardly such dreamed of their ancestor, who gave birth to the “dacha tradition”.
Please pay special attention to men. The same Budaitis character looks doomed. His wife has already decided everything for him, and he apparently is not at all interested in either scandals or the struggle to get all this good.
And here skillfully passes the roll of generations. The house still performs its function. While adults reduce their “two plus two” to a legal “five,” their grown-up children experience mature feelings. The scene of jealousy in the boat turns out to be perhaps the most striking moment in the film. That's right. The future is for the young in any case. In the finale, the authors only need to remind of the voice of their ancestors and anticipate some terrible catastrophe, an omen of tragedy. And it is this circumstance that for me is key in assessing this tape.
I would be willing to forgive clumsiness or technical failure. One could be loyal to both a boring narrative and a plot devoid of any sharpness. Even the mediocre play of famous actors hiding behind their clichés can be justified. But the strange dances about the collapse and fall of a big family on the eve of 91 years look not even a warning - programming a sad end. The tape seems to have been removed for a meaningful pretentious refrain... That's not what I like.

I don’t even know why you should watch this movie. It has a clear morals, morals. It’s not like there’s no pleasure.
In the 90s, films were often shot that do not have a clear ending.
The film has no beginning and the ending is open.
Yes, the film plays Gurchenko and Ulyanov ('Pokrov Gate').
These actresses are the only ones in this film whose acting is at least noticeable, the others walk in the background, portray something indistinctly, there is no expressiveness. The whole movie is like this.
I had the hope that the film would have a summer atmosphere, lots of nature locations. But most of the timekeeping tape takes place inside this cottage, there is nothing to look at. And color correction is made so that there is not enough saturated colors, everything is faded.
Dialogue is boring because of the sluggish acting. When you mumble something under your nose, it doesn’t matter what words are, you just don’t understand them.
The plot is simple - relatives from different sides claim to own the dacha, in every possible way try to be lured to the grandfather, to whom this dacha belongs.
It was possible to make a great comedy of positions, like the same Pokrovsky Gate. Show the story in an ironic way.
But director Georgy Shengelia preferred to make a drama.
Perhaps the fact is that this is his first directorial work and what is called ' the hand is not stuffed '.
Even in the film there is a voiceover that slowly retells the pedigree of the characters of the film, those very relatives of the type ' Adam gave birth to Cain, Cain gave birth to Enoch, etc.'
It's all very monotonous, it's hard to follow all the branches of this tree and not interesting. Very strange approach.
In general, everything in the film was done to make it leisurely. At the same time, the director is not able to create intrigue. The viewer does not want to know what will happen next, do not want to empathize with the characters, because they are inconspicuous. I want to get to the finals faster.
Plus, the film is 85 minutes long. But even this is not easy to endure.
Conclusion: a slow drama with nondescript actors, a banal plot and an open finale. I don't recommend it. There are more worthy films.
The authors tried to present in the film their impressions about what is happening around them. About what 'hovers in the air' and weakly felt by the inhabitants, busy with their everyday life. And being in the very center of the cultural-agent world, they - the authors transferred to the picture and meanings taken from this layer of the life of Soviet people. Here and disappointment in the lack of mate. goods, despite ' ... all your life you work...' and have nothing but '... rusty gigula...' and the total derivation of origin from ' the best people', although these meanings are presented in the most tactful way, without enthusiasm or, conversely, censure, only as an observation transmitted through the screen.
Another observation is some furious acquisitiveness, philistine insanity, when all the limiters collapsed and more and more people completely forgot about the ideals and meanings of the ancestors who brought them out of poverty, dirt, which led to a state where existence fully deserves the following conceit: '. Perhaps an unknown dog prince. Incognito. It is very possible that my grandmother sinned with a diver.' But this is exactly how adult characters behave - some who have already received Matt. confirmation of their thoroughbredness and do not want to give up a single inch of their pedestal, rightly sloping that in the new or old life such a loss will be equivalent to cognitive dissonance. Others only strive for this, having only their own assertiveness in their arsenal.
The youth line is also shown, with its lyricism and impulsiveness, but the adult world comes here, soiling it.
As you can see in the film a lot of themes. And individually, the authors’ view of them is charismatic, as the view of people who are able to beautifully generalize and imagine their own feeling from what is happening. But there is no single, coherent and indestructible impression of the film, there is no sense of integrity. Of all the equivalent subsenses-stories-characters, none has been defined as the leading - creating a semantic-felt backbone of the plot. That is why he is not impressive, remaining only an attempt to say, without the ability to explain.
So, we have a set of meanings disturbing the intelligentsia of the Moscow spill in the late 80s of the 20th century - from the study of the enthusiasm of youth, to furious acquisitiveness, presented to the audience with the integrity of the charismatic vision of the authors, but not united by the idea and sense of integrity in the plot of the film. It's nice to see, but there's no impression.
“And it was morning. The next day came. And we had to start all over again.
A family film that reminds us of family values, our family and our inner connection to each other. As it often happens, in the pursuit of material things, we completely forget that there is more important, deeper, more necessary in everyday life. We are all human, and when life and earthly life captures us into its pools, it is very difficult to get out without consequences. Therefore, one should always be in harmony, remember that the family is not only a blood relationship, but also a spiritual one, and even a spiritual one.
The family is not a place for “dividing” and certainly not for betrayal for the sake of something material. Whatever happens in your life, find the strength to understand and forgive. We all need something and we all want a piece of cake, but in the pursuit of a sweeter piece, you can be left without everything. In addition, he lost everything spiritual and noble.
As always, the amazing Lyudmila Gurchenko! Superb and gorgeous, tearful roles on edge but with fire in their eyes. And of course, Inna Ulyanova! In his unsurpassed role, as in the Intercession Gate. No one could have played better.
On my grandchildren I lay my hopes, for we live as long as hope lives in us.

A family film that reminds us of family values, our family and our inner connection to each other. How often it happens that in the pursuit of material happiness, we completely forget that there is more important, deeper, more necessary in everyday life - this family, these are close people, this kinship is not only blood, but also spiritual, and even spiritual.
As always, the amazing Lyudmila Gurchenko! Superb and magnificent, tearful roles, on the edge, but with fire in her eyes, she is like no other suited for one of the main roles. And of course, Inna Ulyanova! In its unique role, like in the Intercession Gate. Her style, no one could have played better.
The film is recommended for viewing for those people who want to make sure that the family is not a place for “dealing”, for material disputes, and certainly not for betrayal. Whatever happens in your life, find the strength to understand and forgive. We all need something, and we all want a piece of cake, but in the pursuit of a sweeter piece, you can be left without everything. In addition, he lost everything spiritual and noble.
