Les Anderson without   Teen comedies have always been characterized by an unobtrusive plot, easy presentation and characters that a priori had to personify the target audience so that most of them would recognize themselves in embodied images. Funnyness and almost fantastic adventures are the main key to the success of the film in the subgenre of teensplotation. A wave of interest swept after the unexpectedly successful tape ' Ferris Bueller's Weekend' (1986) from John Hughes, the main author ' One House' (1990). Of course, critics were not so condescending (and they are) to exploitative cinema, but they did not expose them to crippling obstruction, knowing perfectly well that cinema is impossible without teenage cinema. This is a fact that should be reconciled with, as with the fact that ' rabble ' both released and will release horror and slashers with template plots and settings.
So, in 1988, the year on the screens appeared adventure comedy with the main characters-teenagers ' Driving license'. In this case, the title of the picture clearly indicates the cherished goal of the main characters. More precisely, the driver’s license seeks to get Les Anderson (Cori Hame), but he is careless, so the chances of his coveted crust are very small. But a computer glitch during the exam (Forest knows the practice well, but he has certain problems with the theory) gives the boy a few minutes to enjoy his rights. After all, he is now an adult, now he has the respect of friends, girls, in his opinion and the opinion of his best friend, and will stick to the Forest. In general, this driver's license is a certain "McGuffin" & #39; which denotes status and a decisive step into adulthood. But the flood of lies associated with the fact that they were not given to Les leads to dangerous adventures through the night streets in a car brand ' Cadillac' in the company of friends and the most beautiful girl in school. For Les truly believes that she and she alone are his destiny. . .
Of course, the main character ' Driving license' - a showman, but sometimes has common sense and always sees where the line where to stop. But on the other hand, he too easily succumbs to persuasion, and then the external factor plays its role - next to him a real beauty and fall in the dirt with her face - it is literally to trample all hopes for a possible relationship. By the way, I would like to note that the script is very well written jokes. They are served with detachment, as if nothing special is happening, but the notes of humor slip through and they are noticeable. This applies to both Corey Hayme, who played Les, and Richard Mayser, who embodied the image of Les' father. And here is this ease, a kind of freedom, iridescence and exceptionality of adventure, as if for the fact that the Forest essentially stole a car, he is haunted by evil fate, but all of us viewers are well aware that nothing deplorable road movie & #39; Driving license & #39; will not end, and creates a special charm of the film.
And it is impossible, when talking about 'Driving license', not to mention the teenagers who played the main characters of the film. It was already noted above that the plot is built around the hero from Corey Haim. At one time, this guy was literally in demand and was invited to various projects, rightfully considered one of the most talented young actors. But the fame so quickly gained led to sad consequences. But let’s not talk about it, but let’s say that Haim easily showed us a solid and strong character, so close to the target audience ' Driver’s license' (and let the character was strong in his own, American way). A bosom friend of Les Anderson was played by Corey Feldman, who had already played with Haim and then they had more joint projects. This pair became a kind of duo, which became a short personification of the era, and the union ' two Corey' at that time did not know except that the schemists. And, attention, in ' Driving Rights' for the first time in a feature film starred Heather Graham, future star ' From Hell' (2001) and 'Kill Me Tender' (2001), a bright supporting actress in ' Boogie Nights' (1997) and 'Bachelor in Vegas' (2009). She became the subject of Les Anderson’s romantic passion. And also draw the attention of Richard Mayser and Carol Kane, who so perfectly composed the marital tandem of Forest's parents.
And let'Driving license' is a summer, but fleeting hit of the late 90s of the last century, but still it is a strong, well-coordinated sample of the subgenre, competently revealing its trump cards. A well-conducted cast adds positive points 'Driving license'. And if someone is nostalgic for those cloudless times, then we kindly ask for a viewing ' Driving license', at least a one-time viewing of the comedy in the subgenres of road movie and teensplotation quite deserves.
