Owners of the Russian land Reference: RAPO - District Agro-Industrial Association - a single management body of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) of the administrative district, created to increase the economic independence and initiative of kolkhozes and other enterprises and organizations that are part of the association. The formation of RAPO was carried out in late 1982 - early 1983. Enterprises and organizations that are part of RAPO retain economic independence and the rights of a legal entity. The supreme governing body of RAPO is its council, the composition of which is formed from heads of farms, enterprises and organizations - members of the association, representatives of party and Soviet bodies.
Without this historical reference, it will be difficult for an inexperienced viewer to understand what is happening on the screen. Mark Orlov shot his 3rd serial film in 1984, when RAPO was already “run” on the example of successful farms. There were very few successful people then. Most had to adapt to the system, along the way identifying shortcomings that were not noticed “at the top”. The film will not be interesting to all viewers because of the party and administrative specifics. “Lyrics” is not enough, but a lot of analysis of the obvious and hidden “cookies” of a new way of managing.
Viktor Ivanovich Bogatyrev in 1965 graduated from the script faculty of VGIK. He worked at film studios named after Gorky and them. Dovzhenko. His first film was Varkina Earth (1969). With this work, Viktor Ivanovich opened a trilogy of mini-series about the joys and adversity of the Russian village. Second on this list is “Yurkina Dawns” (1974). The Chronicle of One Summer (1984) The time interval between them is only 15 years, but how much the village has changed over the years! To a certain extent, all three series can be considered as a single whole: youth - maturity - old age. Varka fell in love, but did not get married. Yurka married, but became entangled in the relationship between his wife and mother; the chairman of the district executive committee Vladimir Ivanovich Kolesnikov (Vladimir Andreev) married his son, but the family life of Eugene did not set.
A certain “boring” is present, but only for those who are not interested in the paraphernalia of the production drama. However, there is no special drama here, but there is a conflict of interest when business executives who are not interested in the final result drag the “blanket of profit” only on themselves. Interpersonal and family relationships are also not a drama. There are many characters in the film, and this allows you to make a “selection” of those who do not have everything in order in the family: Vladimir Kolesnikov himself, Nina Vasilievna (Natalia Fateeva), Vladimir Semyon’s brother (Nikolai Merzlikin). Screen time to tell the story of each, was not enough, so the “family question” is shown on the example of a young couple: Evgeny (Alexander Timoshkin) and Valentina (Alfiya Khusnulinova).
The writer touched on a very sensitive topic: early marriage. Someone might smile: "early" at 18! Exactly. Early marriages are not based on age, but on moral readiness for family life. Evgeny exam for the title of young husband failed miserably. A game of love and a boring life are different things, although they are sides of the same coin. Yevgeny chose the side that shines brighter: “It will be so, because I said so!” The days of homebuilding are long gone. Today the wife does not fear her husband, but loves him, but the husband must earn this love. I like my father’s position: if you think you are an adult for marriage, prove it. The mother's feelings on this score seemed too "loud" - not the conflict to be killed so much.
Particular sympathy was caused by the chairman of the Iskra collective farm Platon Gerasimovich Bondarenko. Evgeny Burenkov is a wonderful artist who has always succeeded in the role of “broad” business executives. The chairman of the collective farm in his performance is a “soul-man”. People are in the first place, and they try to do it for them. And for them you have to catch, so as not to look hollow. The secretary of the district committee Pavel Stepanovich (Sergei Yakovlev) seemed "slippery" - he seems to say correctly, but the "taste" from all this remains unpleasant. Summing up, it remains to add that the final part of the trilogy of mini-series turned out to be the saddest. “Varkina” enthusiasm of the 60s irrevocably passed, “Yurkins” dawns of the 70s noticeably faded, “Chronics” of the 80s already have a taste of “dashing 90s”. But this is a completely different country and a completely different story.
