American rat This movie looks like a sequel to “Shoot the Pianist.” The same unexpected plot twists, strange bandits, gangsters, chases, scenes in the snow, a strange relationship with a lover. And the most important thing is the permanently tense Aznavour. He lives here too, in his last breath, fleeing either from Europe, or from his beloved, or from himself.
For the viewer, this quest turns out to be very spectacular. Traveling through Paraguay. Mountains, snow, heat, mines, seaside. Everywhere there will be interesting visual solutions, innovative angles. There will be danger everywhere. And certainly in this tape opens up a lot of room for any interpretation. The actions of the heroes are too impulsive, and they themselves are too simple. Therefore, the character of Aznavour can be proclaimed the forerunner of the “mad Pierrot”, or you can even call a miserable person. It's okay. He bets everything and sometimes loses. We are only watching his existential quest.
It won’t be boring, and that’s why.
