Hema Malini in police uniform - you have to see that! First, in a nutshell about the plot, since there is no word about the film on the site. A justice-believing lawyer (Amrita Singh) and a policeman who thinks all criminals are animals (Shattrughan Sinha) argue all the time about how to treat prisoners, they see peace and justice differently, and so parents decide to marry them. Only in the old Indian cinema is this conclusion possible: ' They hate each other, they have nothing in common, what a beautiful couple will be after the wedding' Oh, come on. And irreconcilable opponents make a bet: is it possible to re-educate the criminal? For this purpose, Mal's lawyer chooses Shrada Devi (played by Hema Malini), the most hardened and vicious criminal (played by Jitendra), to awaken his humanity. In the process of re-education, she learns that he was unjustly accused and now her main task is to find out the truth and achieve justice in court.
Well, a noble goal, good actors, a few unexpected turns (something was a blow, so unpredictable it turned out), in principle, it could turn out a good movie, but the director failed, sliding into pathos, stamps, illogical behavior and during the main action there were several shortcomings.
Gitendra played badly, that's a shame, but the truth. He was a hysterical man, in the beginning shouting at everyone who tried to communicate with him. I even squealed, which was incredible. Plus, in moments of his sayings, loud pumping music began to play to enhance the impression. Next to the restrained Hema and calmly behaving the rest of the actors it looked not the anger of the innocent condemned, and the whims of the child. Hema Malini in the form very liked, played well, such a controlling character, for whom duty is more important than love. Suresh Oberoy was excellent, his villain - calm and reasonable (which I really like, since psycho-maniacs this is rare in life, but a person who creates evil out of profit for himself, this is the truth of life), Sintruth, he did not look right, then in the court. There were two comedians (Asrani and Kader Khan), the humor was funny and the plot. The dances were poorly staged, danced non-plasticly and dergano (Hema did not participate), in terrible outfits. If in the film, the heroines went in saris and looked beautiful, then in the dance inserts they were wearing ridiculous outfits in the European style, which they did not categorically go. They had to squander them, as well as fights, the production of which was also terrible: stupid jumps, fake punches, doubles instead of the main actors. But the most insulting thing is that for the last half an hour, another writer seemed to write: all the characters suddenly began to act completely illogical and opposite to their characters, and the actors suddenly put on masks and walked with dead and expressionless faces. In the most tragic scenes, they began to take poses instead of playing and empathizing. Why? What happened? All the praises I wrote above do not apply to the last part (the film, by the way, is 2 hours 36 minutes, and even this is not listed on the website). Mulzim is translated from Hindi as ' Accused' which correctly conveys the main idea and is played several times in dialogues and songs.
If I recommend it to the fans of Hema Malini and Suresh Oberoy, I admired them and their game, the others still faked or attended little. Some plot blunders are compensated by several unexpectedly interesting twists. There is momentum, the action is protracting, although the end is disappointing.
