5 out of 10, the film is below average quality. A fresh idea and a good plot, spoiled by annoying clichés and talentless directing.
Game of actors: 8 points - Mark Sinclair (Vin Diesel), surprised by a good game, which contrasts sharply with the same type and cartoon face from the series of films Fast and Furious, the level of the game is not Riddick, but looks plausible;
6 points - Jouhannes Jouhannesson, a typical unremarkable villain;
1 point - Eiza Gonzalez, de facto did not even play in the film, just read the text with her mouth and took the necessary poses as a model, 0% acting and charisma;
5 points - Sam Heughan, overplayed, looked implausible; same with Toby Kebbell
5 points - Talulah Riley, did not finish, looked weak and not convincing on the screen;
10 points - Guy Pearce, still English classical acting school and great creative experience make themselves felt;
10 points - Morris Lamorne, the best acting game in terms of facial expressions and natural emotional reactions, even Guy Pearce sometimes faked, but there is a huge minus - the character was picked up unsuccessfully, pissed out and annoyed viewers for most of the film.
The plot was interesting for the first 30% of the film, it even kept the viewer in tension in places and, most importantly, caused sympathy for the main character. With the beginning of the scene of the hunt for the last victim and before the final battle with the villain, the plot very much degraded, became stupid, banal, crooked, clichéd and incredibly boring. So much so that we first had to increase the viewing speed by 25% and then by 50%. Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer claim that the script was made in the same style, without a sharp break in authorship, but something suggests that it is cunning. Whoever did the plot after Raymond Garrison met Nick Baris was clearly doing a soulless, unprofessional hack.
Squalid special effects, most of which are low-quality computer graphics, give us a "hello" from the first half of the 2000s. Because of them, what is happening on the screen quickly turns into a “soap box”.
The scenes of hand-to-hand combat are disgusting. To hide unprofessionalism, the operator uses the ALL long-awaited technique of the “shaking camera”. Although it is a well-staged martial arts scene could provide the film with 30% success.
In the category "The stupidest moment of the film" won the pool scene, where because of the talentless camera work of Jacques Jouffrette, the hero played by Mark Sinclair "bewitched" looked at the underwater gymnastics Kay T. The absurdity was that the actress was much higher than the visual level of the protagonist, Mark Sinclair was given a stupid task to look “in the center and below” because of what it turned out that the hero “spiritually” looks at the feet of the swimmer and the bottom of the swimming pool. The scene looked ridiculous and ridiculous.
Verdict: Despite the film's box office failure and negative reviews from viewers (and film critics), Bloodshot is eligible for Second Chance. Mark Sinclair, Sam Heughan and Morris Lamorne should be present in the second part, all the others can and should be replaced. The sequel clearly needs another director and more talented writers. Bloodshot 2 is unlikely to outperform Iron Man 1 (2008), but it has ALL chances to outperform in critical reviews and/or box office, any easy movie with Tom Holland, Aquaman, Venom, and even compete with Deadpool and the Thor series. To refuse such a project would be stupid, with professional work, this film can become a gold mine.
Like every film with Vin Diesel, it is completely packed with brutality, dynamism and entertainment. The ending with the Deshman special effects, of course, spoiled the overall impression. There is a feeling that there was not enough money for the end, so they sculpted it from what was. The plot is quite obvious, the ending is even more obvious. The movie is worth watching only if you like action movies, explosions, guns. Universal Soldier with Van Dam - hello The general impression of the film is a bit boring, but to pass the evening under an adequate action movie is the very thing. Of course, the movie is disposable, you will not review this. . .
Movies on games always came out not very pleasant quality, no matter how many effects were not spent on the graphics, no matter how much money was inflated. Bloodshot was no exception, although it tries to give action and brutality to Diesel. The plot just tells us “Robocop” by Paul Verhoeven, looks quite acceptable, but not surprising. Vin Diesel does not leave the role of Dominic Toretto, which allows you to attribute all relevant roles to one type. There are, of course, some offshoots to the side, like “The Last Witch Hunter” or “Riddick” (and that franchise), but that the sequel to “Three X: World Dominance” that “Bladshot” is still the same racer from “Fast and Furious” who solves problems.
"I am Groot!"
The drama of Bloodshot gives the appropriate, but it does not fixate on intrigue, does not allow you to feel the hero, and immediately goes to the operation on the plot. As a doctor it was amazing to see Guy Pearce (the second film in a row with this Memento, wow). Yes, I guess the time already selects the roles for the actor, but it looked funny. The first problem of the film: few explanations, counted on fan service, but the film is only in two words swept through the explanations, moving into the second problem - it is the main one - a very small timekeeping.
The tape showed the introduction, put Vin Diesel on the first act of the narrative, to continue without disclosure, without training, without experiments to let him perform the task. Of course, the important part with drama, revenge and memories plays a part, but it’s all too fast. Stop, stop, Diesel! You're not in Furious! Slow down! The secondary roles pale as one. Not even Mexican Asa Gonzalez, although she was given the right to speak. Diesel does too much. Toretto's power and science. Stubbornness, brutality and perseverance.
Action is pleasant, but it is not enough. The technology in the blood of the protagonist is interesting, but it is not disclosed in any way, but immediately put into action. The main plot move is revealed literally from the first release of Bloodshot on the street, so that the viewer realized that, it turns out, already the culmination. An hour and a half is not enough for this movie. Three battle scenes, two puppet scenes, and one awareness scene, everything, the curtain. Interesting showed other people with quirks, but only a glimpse to the finale to demonstrate at least some potential.
The storyline with Gonzalez is too sluggish and little revealed. It would be interesting to watch the interaction with the main character, Diesel himself is interesting in a new role (no, the role is still the same – Dominic Toretto, just the character is intriguing), but this is not given. And then the film is filled with typical blockbuster mistakes and silly details. The plans of the antagonist immediately lose their meaning as soon as Toretto is engaged in amateur activity.
“I just spent a few billion to make it invulnerable. Now you want to kill him? - X-Men: Beginning. Wolverine
This phrase fully conveys the spirit of "Bladshot", leaving after watching the taste of understatement. It's like you got screwed, leaving all the stupid details on the surface. In the end, it would be cool, but too short. The film did not open, the characters are caricatured, the silly views of the antagonists and the narrative is too fast. Is this movie worth the time? The experience is sad, but unusual. It has a certain mystery, the intrigue of the main character, until the climax comes, but in general it was necessary to do better.
I love Vin Diesel very much. The very first wow I woke up to him in 3x, then there was Fast and Furious, then the Riddick Chronicles and more. But at some point I realized he was the same everywhere. Beautiful. Brutal. A real man. But... same and predictable. Winner. Always. I won’t stop loving and respecting him as an actor, but... The directors, the writers, who's out there... give him a different role, the opposite, maybe a global villain, but a different one. And if we talk specifically about this film - a lot of special effects, incomprehensible plot and awesome Diesel. Okay. I'm not going to watch it a second time.
Over the past decade, modern cinema has radically changed, stepping to a new level, where the ball is ruled by people with superpowers, and superheroes no longer seem so ' Super', and not always turn out to be heroes. But despite all this confusion, this format of films still occupies one of the first places in the honorable number of the most popular films of our time. Perhaps 'Bladshot' could be attributed to such, however, with less confidence.
'Bladshot' is a fantastic action movie about a superhero named Ray Harrison, who until recently was a simple military man, the rhythm of his life was reduced from one hot spot to another. Soon after returning home, Ray goes on vacation with his wife, and it is at this moment that the unexpected happens - the love of his life is killed by terrorists, and minutes later - and himself (as it seemed at first glance). It later turns out that he was brought back to life by introducing nanobots into his body, making him a powerful weapon for murder.
It is certainly worth noting that 'Bladshot' is the category of cinema where you can clearly, literally step by step, decompose all the pros and cons of the finished work, which, in fact, I propose to do. I think we should start with the benefits of the movie. First, the plot of the film, or rather its direct description, is set very specifically, which unconditionally forms a certain layer in the perception of the audience and recreates all possible scenarios. It is quite possible that this is the main advantage of the film, because initially it was known and understood that this project is the most commercial, without any lyrical digressions, complex relationships between the characters and difficulties in making decisions. Nevertheless, the movie fully justifies its genre, and therefore, the comparison of expectation and reality for most viewers can be justified, especially taking into account the low rating of the film. The undoubted plus is that this is a superhero movie, which means, ' Bloodshot' automatically has a certain audience that is ready to absorb any work within this theme. Secondly, an exhilarating musical accompaniment from composer Steve Jablonski, whose works can be heard in famous action films, for example, in ' Transformers'. Well, and finally, thirdly, high-quality computer graphics can also claim the undeniable advantage of the film, even though it no longer surprises anyone.
Perhaps all the pluses are exhausted. In contrast, the main disadvantages that sank this cinematic vessel I believe: a) weak acting; b) the lack of a clear division of characters and their roles throughout the film; c) an acute lack of new ideas and a fresh look at the genre; g) disclosure of the main ideas in the trailer for the film; well, and finally, d) the same stylist of Vin Diesel (badish white actor, who is not more than 20 years old).
The cast in its essence is absolutely unremarkable, except that everywhere appears Vin Diesel. Not taking into account his popularity, the performance came out, to put it mildly, on a dead average score. The skill of Vin Diesel hardly survives going beyond the existing film frames, and therefore the expansion of the capabilities of his characters, in its essence, is already a great achievement. Moreover, interest in the film can fade even after watching the trailer, which in general, can be called nonsense, because the trailer should not reveal all the cards to the viewer, but, on the contrary, attract and leave behind a feeling of understatement. In addition, the plot clearly should have brought a little clarity about who the creators ' Bloodshot' still positioned as the main character, because this endless shift of roles between the characters is very stressful when viewing, creating an absolutely ridiculous and incoherent view of the picture. A detailed analysis of the films that have seen the light of day over the past 10 years involuntarily suggests the similarity of plots 'Bladshot' and 'Excellence' 2012 release, with Johnny Depp in the title role. It was this obvious similarity of the films that did not play into the hands of director Dave Wilson.
Summing up all of the above, I will say that 'Bladshot' could be a very interesting work if his script was fully worked out and tended to be unique and novel, which, unfortunately, was not seen here.
6 out of 10
The case when you want to watch a movie before going to bed and then the choice fell on him.
I love comic books, but this time something went wrong.
A pleasant aftertaste remained after the self-irony of the director, actors, screenwriters. The whole film had the impression that they are well aware that this tape will yield in its entertainment the same ' Avengers' or ' Miracle is a woman' but sincerely, like all professionals tried to do everything to save the situation.
In general, they were more successful than not.
The low expectations of the film crew justified themselves:
The protagonist's template philosophical thoughts remind us that Diesel still can, his cubes, hook on the left and the sad look of Atlanta, who is aware of the weight of the whole world, but endures and can still be charming and reliable.
A woman’s trembling heart will shed tears after seeing the life of his character, will enthusiastically knock after looking at the well-preserved Diesel cubes.
A man's heroic beginning will wake up to see a female character. The main character in the film did not come to me at all, to be honest. She had a story that wasn't revealed even by flashbacks, but a pity (I'd be interested). The beautiful actress, who was a pleasant bonus to the hero, according to the classics of the genre was merciful, but brave.
The villain wasn't particularly exposed here, but he and his minions were fun to watch. It seemed that they themselves did not understand how they got into this situation.
The whole movie was haunted by one thought. The filmmakers left too many white spots in the story in the hope that there will be Part 2 or am I inattentive and missed all the Easter eggs of this film?
In the end, the movie is still good. He made me think about him, left me an opinion. I wanted to watch a movie before bed to reboot the whole day. I did it. Perfect.
Special thanks for the last shots of the film, they were beautiful and a scientific genius who wanted to make friends.
I’m probably going to say the obvious thing, but still, making movies that are totally visual is a bad idea. In the 21st century, when there is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Transformers (2007-2017), Pacific Rim (2013, 2018), Avatar (2009) (the list is by no means limited to the goods listed here), the sophisticated viewer cannot be bribed, only by effects, because in addition to the soulless spectacle, we are now served food for reflection, which is quite fair - time goes by, the audience becomes more demanding (although, there is always such a sure means as playing nostalgia). Practice has repeatedly proved that this works almost flawlessly, regardless of the quality of the final product! Nevertheless, authors like Dave Wilson continue to stuff us with dull action movies, with a smudge of fiction, hoping to quickly concoct the franchise. Let's get more specific:
Characters:
Ray Garrison:
The story begins with a rescue operation in Mombasa, where our protagonist, pulls a hostage from the clutches of nameless villains, and then goes home to his wife. The relationship of this couple (who in the future are very important for Ray and all his further motivation is based on them!) is shown to snot music - lovers skate, hold hands, smile, kiss... That's it! A little later, uninvited guests visit the Harrison couple and after a series of lousy combat scenes, Ray wakes up tied to a chair. Vin Diesel demonstrates the richness of his "acting skills" through futile attempts to look lost, then frightened, then sad and finally threatening - the lights go out and Harrison wakes up in some laboratory. He meets strangers, and they explain to him on their fingers what happened. Ray is now, in fact, a cyborg, in his body introduced nanorobots (functioning on the principle of worms in the body of Fry - "Futurama" (1999-2013)), repairing any damage. Ray himself is an ordinary dummy, a good guy whose only positive characteristic is the presence of a wife and zeal to take revenge on her abusers. Diesel’s pathetic monologues with a stern face, on which no muscle moves, of course, are amusing, but in two hours it begins to tire.
Dr Emil Harting and Kay T:
I can’t imagine, maybe in the original comic book the personality of Dr. Harting was revealed much better, and he struck everyone with charisma and charm, in the film adaptation he turned out to be extremely faded and memorable. The creators did not even bother to resort to a banal exposition, with which Harting could tell who he is and what he wants - and so, we know that he is a genius scientist, he has a metal hand and he is a villain! Have you ever wondered why Ace Gonzalez always wears tight clothes on the screen? Wherever she is taken, directors always strive to emphasize what nature has awarded her. I understand that the acting talent of Gonzalez is not that much, but it is in this picture, her candid wardrobe is especially inappropriate - you will agree, it is difficult to take seriously Key T - a soldier and a professional rescue diver with experience of deployment to Syria, constantly walking around with a bare stomach. In addition to all the above, the tape contains pseudo-self-irony, level Deadpool 2 (2018). Screenwriters through the characters directly talk about the stupidity of what is happening, turning it into an innocent joke, then continue to make nonsense, as if admitting their incompetence is a mitigating circumstance!
The visual component. With a relatively meager budget of $45 million, the director is desperate to compete with the visual aesthetics of expensive blockbusters. Every minute in the frame something explodes, breaks and flies – cheap graphics mixed with terrible combat choreography and slow-mo inserts, turns viewing into a real torture. Unlike Neil Blomkamp, who managed to give us District 9 (2009) for a smaller budget, where there are both stunning effects and a clear plot, Dave Wilson prefers to clumsily copy existing concepts, hiding behind loud slogans on the now popular superhero theme.
Result: "Bladshot" - a very boring "spectacle", miserably failed at the box office. Yes, the pandemic and the adverse effects of this emergency may have contributed to this. However, otherwise, given the dubious strategy of Sony, one day, contrary to all common sense, which brought her fabulous income, namely, celebrities in central and secondary roles and unscrupulous parasitism on a recognizable source, the result, in my opinion, would be more satisfactory (in terms of box office certainly!). It's not fate!
Valiant Comics has never been much better than Marvel or DC, so I’m not surprised they couldn’t make a decent movie. Sony is also often in a superhero screwed up, too, not surprising.
You have to be able to do that.
Here it is, a great chance to start in a new movie universe, expand it, show your heroes and make a lot of money from it. Take a successful concept, a good director, and assemble a successful cast. What could be easier? You have money and connections, and actors who want to play superheroes are full right now.
Caste:
Vin Diesel is a superhero. (I don't know whether to laugh or cry)
This guy plays the same characters all his time, and then decided to outdo his roles and go into a superhero. By the way, he did not exceed, he showed nothing new. It looks very bad, firstly he is already old, and secondly it is not his role at all 100%, why he was taken I probably will never understand.
Sam Heughan is a villain. Are you serious? Look at him, what a villain he is. He is destined to play kind and fair heroes, and if a villain then with a well-developed motivation and still the maximum that he can play is an antagonist. He can interfere with the hero, but he will not be a villain, he just does not fit into this role.
Lamorne Morris is the only actor who looks great, good jokes, good acting, put everyone else away and the movie will only get better.
The rest of the cast will not even mention, all the same, no actor is suitable for his role and should play completely different characters.
I’m not going to write 10 pages, although it can be done, there is a lot to tell about this film. Here is a list of failures the director has made.
In short:
1. The plot is stupid and banal
2. Copy not Marvel or DS, copy the action movie of the 90s
3. No immersion in a comic book, just an action movie.
4. The caste is terrible, not thought out
5. Dialogues are empty and unnecessary, I want them to end.
6. In the film there is no tension, he does not catch, he wants to rewind and forget.
7. There are no references and thoughtful threads of events to other studio comics
8. Forgot about the hero from the comic, take the title and blind your
Perhaps there is something else, but come on, the film watched, no impressions, it’s time to watch another movie, something more interesting and good. Enjoy the viewing, everyone!
This will probably be one of the shortest reviews of this film, but I will try to reflect the most important thing.
The whole plot of the film is a mixture of stories 'Jason Bourne' and 'Mission Impossible'. That is, the main character was denied memory and at the same time, in order to get even with the offender, he still needs to get to hell knows where with the help of various prepared bombs.
The most the main graphics 'chip' with Ray 'Bludshot' Garrison was already involved earlier in the film 'Throwing Cobra-2'. It turns out that even novelty in fiction is minimized. There are other, smaller manifestations of novelty, but the main character was deprived of it. The emphasis on this is made for a simple reason - what else can you expect from such an action movie? Do you have to distinguish them according to some principle? The whole story also develops according to previously given canons.
However, in defense of the film, I want to say that at the current rating of 5.6, it pays off. Dialogues are acceptable, there is no pathosity (almost, except for Vin Diesel).
Of the actors, I will not analyze in detail, because they all keep, so to speak, at an average level - play along with the main character, acting according to standards: some for good, others for harm. The only exception is heroLamorne Morris. He is responsible for the share of humor that is present in this film and does not give excessive vulgarity. You can say when there is no Diesel in the frame, all interest rests on him.
Music: This is the first review I'm doing about a film with Steve Jablonski as a composer, so a little bit about it. He has many films, most of which are massive (Transformers, Sea Battle, Ninja Turtles 2 (2016)). But his music is neutral. It is not bad, often appropriate, but also not good - not impressive, does not make you empathize. The only soundtrack in his collection where there is something impressive - 'Ender's Game' Here again is the standard.
I have already used the words 'standard and canon' which describe the film all too well. But he is not bad either in action (except for the very beginning), in acting, or in music. Nothing will surprise you here, but you can also see it.
In 1992, Kevin Wangok, Don Perlin and Bob Layton created the comic, which later became a hit for readers from Valiant Universe. Bloodshot debuted on the rough pages in November 1992 and became one of Valiant's most popular characters. Later in 1996, the comic book series was restarted to direct the course of the story in a new direction, and sequels were released in 2012 and 2015.
In March 2012, it was announced that Columbia Pictures had acquired the rights to the comic book adaptation, and in 2015 the company, in collaboration with Sony and Original Films, decided to subsequently release five films based on the Valiant comic book universe, where Bloodshot was supposed to be the opening film ... and, judging by the quality of the picture and the failure at the box office, the finish.
Now for a little bit of everything.
1. SOURCE
Recently, the main problem of the films that Vin Diesel produces, with the exception of his presence in the cast for leading roles, is a very weak script and rather indistinct or even sloppy directing. In the director’s chair sat a newcomer Dave Wilson, who could boast only a strong animated short film “The Sonny Advantage”, which was included in the almanacs of the first season of the series “Netflix” “Love, death and robots”. One of the screenwriters was Jeff Wadlow, who was noted by rather weak “Kick-Ass 2” and “Fantasy Island”. Perhaps the main hopes for a positive result were associated with Eric Heisserer, who almost received the cherished American statuette for the script for the “Arrival” by Dani Villeneuve.
As a result, for $45 million budget, this trio shot a very technological action movie from the 90s. There are no unexpected turns in the plot: the only one that was supposed to become such breaks through even by an inexperienced viewer, well, and for completely inexperienced authors completely merged it in the trailer, removing at least some element of the mystery. The linear narrative is dotted with boring and secondary stamps, sometimes a good action (which, unfortunately, catches for a short time) and a powerful, but monotonous Vin Diesel.
2. Actor's Game
In general, acting in action films is not always so important. Of course, good actors can pull a fairly average action movie a few steps higher, and bad ones can turn such a movie into a thrash. But still, if the actors squeeze at least something out of themselves, and their characters are spelled out more or less normally, then the film will most likely become a passing, but still a dense middle peasant who can bring pleasure.
In terms of acting, the film has two serious problems: cardboard characters (hello to the writers) and Vin Diesel.
No character is remembered, even if you keep in mind that they are embodied by actors who have quite strong roles behind them (Aysa Gonzalez (Baby on Drive), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Toby Cabbel (Rocknroll Man), and Guy Pearce (Naprolom) was put in one of the roles. However, none of the toothless clichéd characters could pull out.
The image of Bloodshot fully corresponds to almost all the images of Vin Diesel: so the audience will again see the overly pretentious Dominic Torretto, behind whom even a white jersey migrated from the Fast and Furious to the new film. The image of an “emotional alpha male, punching through the walls with his forehead to achieve the goal and frantically blowing his nostrils” turned “Bladshot” into another part of “Fast and Furious”, only wheelbarrows were replaced with cyber implants.
3. VISUAL
John Wick showed everyone what a real action movie with a simple linear plot should look like. In fact, its authors set a new level of action, creating it so that you want to watch the fight inseparably throughout the entire timeline of the film. The fighting scenes of Bloodshot look as secondary as the whole film. Everything that the picture shows us does not surprise or amaze, it is interesting to watch the action only at the very beginning. The action in the film is lazy and sometimes even cheap (given what opportunities the creators have swung). You can only celebrate the chase along a crowded street - the only action scene shot with style and its own zest.
Bloodshot was supposed to be a cross between Jonathan Hensley’s Marvel Punisher and Lee Wannell’s Upgrade, a powerful cyberpunk battle with elements of drama. Unfortunately, it turned out a passing action movie with medium special effects, a sullen plot, cardboard heroes and too masculine Vin Diesel.
Result: a film created for the hamstrings of a large company for beer and snacks.
A new superhero, a new comic book studio, a new director, a new original plot idea. . . Involuntarily you expect a lot of new, and in fact, quite an average superhero action movie with cardboard characters, where good special effects are designed to distract the viewer from having a zest, but quite primitive plot. In general, the attempt to create a new cinematic universe pulls weakly, and the “triumphal return of Vin Diesel” all the more, but once you can look.
I went in for a haircut and talked to the barber. Touched on the topic of cinema, in particular 'Fast and Furious'. During the conversation, we came to the conclusion that this series of films itself is aware of its popcorn status, because there has long been scored on realism. Let it be so, but here are other projects in which Vin Diesel is involved because of this guard. Trickel & #39; Three X' was perceived stupid, even in comparison with the not very serious first part, 'Riddick' lost in the atmosphere. Well, the cherry on the cake - ''. The only good thing he brought to my life is the song 'Psycho Killer' the bands Talkin Heads.
Captain America was frozen for 70 years, but retained his hero status because he was a role model. 'Bladshot' was frozen in the 1990s. This characteristic is given by the plot, which we have already seen more than once and the main character with a stone face and overdoing pathos in the lexicon. Not that I was waiting for this movie, I just knew it would be bad. He did not even give any chances to the picture, because now, in 2020, such a story is not taken seriously. And the trailer stuffed everything we need to know about the plot, including the plot twist - two. I wonder if the same person edited the trailers 'Terminator: Genesis' and 'Bladshot'? It’s also a story about a guy with nanobots in his blood.
'Bladshot' - debut for the director Dave Wilson, who previously could boast only a short film ' Sonny's Advantage' from the collection 'Love, death and robots' The film is based on the comic book published by Valiant, but if you read the material, you will understand that the film and the share of potential did not reveal. The story of how the warrior Ray Garrison returns home, spends the night with his wife, and then they are captured by a group of mercenaries led by Toby Kebbell. He behaves like a villain #39 who kills his wife and Ray. Then Ray wakes up in the walls of the corporation, where Dr. Emil Harting (Guy Pearce) says that he was resurrected and implanted with nanorobots (nanites) that increase his strength and regeneration.
Harrison remembers the guy who killed his wife and sets out to take revenge. Then it is revealed that the memories were simulated, and the corporation used Ray as a death machine, each time changing the identity of the killer. Honestly, who cares? The whole film is created according to the patterns of outdated action films, with the usual tropes and plot twists. Okay, if everything was designed for the purpose of fire, but no, everything is done with the utmost seriousness. Isn’t it too difficult for writers who can only boast of second-rate horror films? More specifically, this is Jeff Wadlow, who wrote the script for 'Truth or Action' and 'Island of Fantasy' and Eric Heisserer, writer of remakes 'Something' and 'Ted,Ted,Ted,I'stookah, who did not make it out there, 39; Do you still not see the whole point?
And the main disadvantage is Vin Diesel. More precisely, his entrenched image of that bald ' not from Brazzers' in a white T-shirt-alcoholic, which releases boyish philosophical quotes. Let’s just say that an actor can be in one image, if it is supported by something. Tom Cruise, for example, is also familiar to us in the image of ' cool guy' but his approach is significant. He held his breath underwater for six minutes, learned to fly a helicopter, clinged to ropes and walls at high altitude. Plots 'Impossible missions' as if they came to us from the 2000s, but we are still fascinated by Ethan Hunt's tricks. While Vin Diesel , having felt the popularity of the image of Dominic Toretto, remained at this level. Why do you want to do this when you’re already in trouble?
Amoeba secondary characters performed by Eisa Gonzales, Sam Hugan and Alex Hernandez, shaking camera work, unfinished CGI ... Yes 'Upgrade<' and 'Hardcore' developed for far less money than 'Bladshot<' more interestingly tell the story of a man enhanced by technology. The coronavirus epidemic also played a role in the failure of the film, thanks to which in the near future we will not only see such films, but in principle everything is sad for film premieres. And then there is the sin of Sony, which gave the film a PG-13 rating, where the hero is shot and blown up without a trace, while in the original comic there were just rivers of blood. In short, everything is like that 'Venom' - we promote art to the masses with an application for the cinematic universe. The question is, will you?
So, the 52-year-old man, who wears the same hairstyle and the same white jersey, decided to play superhero with the same grins. This hero's name is Ray, he dies resurrected, given superpowers, but something is wrong. How's the intrigue? You've never seen this before.
The special effects looked good, and the action scene was put tolerably, but all the interesting moments of the film were shown in the trailer.
The main dialogue is the production of banal and pathetic scruples of screenwriters. Why do you want to make a movie like that? At some point you realize you're just raping your ears and your brain.
The acting of the afterburner has not changed since the time of the dinosaurs. The same face, almost, old age does not spare anyone, wrinkles, folds, and the second chin to have a superhero is ashamed. No, a 52-year-old witch hunter looks good. But? He is old for such a role, you need to calm down, the muscles are not the same, he never shone with talent, you need to surprise the viewer with something else, and not run from one typical film to another in the same T-shirt.
Guy Pierce played, well done, did not cause any emotions, although he could. Probably, they paid little, all the money was spent, most likely, on the production of the 9th afterburner.
Asa Gonzalez is a beauty, it is a pleasure to watch her, and no matter what she does and how she plays, graced the film and thank her for this.
Lamorne Morris is not the most popular actor, but he added some comic to this film, and diluted this creepy slime called Bloodshot with cheerful colors. Not bad, but not enough.
Honestly, I was glad to see my favorite rock and roller Toby Kebbel, a good actor, it’s a pity that a small role got.
Anyway, the swollen face of the bald babysitter ruined everything. He, like an invigorated and youthful uncle among the youth, tried to create something, but it only hurt the film.
And now the story. I didn’t expect anything to happen in the trailer, but why do I have to say it in the trailer? This is a failure.
Over. There is no plot, no normal dialogue, the main actor is not suitable. If you do not look, you will not lose anything, I think that few people will really enjoy watching this masterpiece.

Since the release of the film, 3 months have passed, and the picture was not cursed only by the lazy.
At the same time, everyone agrees on one ' nothing new, Vin Diesel is tired, the plot is predictable'.
That is, in fact, all the claims to the film boil down to the fact that in front of you is exactly the film that was stated. A fantastic action movie with a superhero protagonist played by Vin Diesel. The film is designed for a very wide audience, the plot of which does not require anything more than the twist raft that is present in it and implemented more than professionally. You can see the director's hand put 'Sonnie's edge' from Love, Death and Robots.
The budget of the picture is $ 45 million, which is very modest for a modern picture with such an abundance of CGI, and even a couple of rather expensive actors.
The same Divergent 3 cost 110 million in production.
And for that budget, the film has unrealistic effects that are really well thought out. The eye doesn’t make any sense at all.
The picture is cool. The soundtrack is simple, but does not interfere with perception.
From the point of view of acting, everyone understands that nothing is outstanding, but the story is told. You know what’s going on in the heads of the characters.
The only significant claim on my part would be that Bloodshot's relationship with other augmentations besides Katie was not sufficiently deepened. There were good bookmarks for reconciliation with Tibbs and a bloody confrontation with Dalton, finally crazy against the background of thirst for blood.
Actually, there is a feeling that initially the team wanted to make the main antagonist just legless, in order to oppose his desire for war changes in the main character.
This, unfortunately, did not happen, but in general, as a representative of the genre, the film deserves a solid ' good'.
You won’t watch it, but everything you expect when you go to the movies or watch it at home will get you.
Franchises decide everything. Glossy-latex franchises decide even more - using this logic, Valliant and Columbia Pictures intertwined in a single ecstasy. The fruit of their joint love was another Dieselshot, the face or biceps of pompous pompous masquerading franchises is Mr. Vin Vin Diesel, one name of which says absolutely everything you need to know about any picture with this character. As a bonus to the picture, Guy Pearce is attached - another Hollywood star, who actively overshadowed her career in the B field. As a rule, such films always turn up extremely controversial creative team: as always, the director-debutant, who worked only on the episode of the almanac ' Love, death and robots', screenwriter ' Kick-Ass 2' the one who is a complete kick-ass and screenwriter of not the most successful rebuts ' Nightmare on Elm Street' and 'Something' .
The plot of the picture introduces the viewer to the military Ray Garisson, killed with his wife by terrorists. In the laboratory of the company RST Ray gets a second chance thanks to the nanorobots in his body, literally brought the hero back to life. Now Ray has inhuman strength, the ability to quickly regenerate and thirst for revenge.
The world of comics is already difficult to surprise both the reader and the viewer: new and new products of the creators’ imagination are one way or another doomed to repeat decades of existing trends. In the case of 'Bladshot' all old schoolers will definitely remember 'Universal Soldier', with the only amendment that there is only one walking corpse in this film. And this role is the best suited to Vin Diesel, who knows how to move any muscles except the facial ones, performing his professional acting duty. And thanks to ' incredible' writers’ work on dialogue, ' I am Groot' Diesel’s performance boils down to other three monologues like ' they killed his wife' or ' I’ll take revenge' which boils down the whole essence of his lines in the film. However, it is impossible not to note that the debutant in the big cinema Dave Wilson tried as best he could: in general, the picture is well staged, there are interesting scenes, good angles and extremely many CGI and slow-mo, without which it is impossible to imagine the entire Diesel pathos accompanying any pictures ' actor' But, for a fantastic action movie, the action scenes 'Bladshot' look surprisingly chambered and sluggish, including even the finale of the film, which can be safely called a royal battle of paralytics involving a parody of Dr. Octupus: a modest budget for modern fiction makes itself felt. And in any case, it would be better if the budget went to a decent screenwriter.
Pros: Graphics, staging and efforts of Diesel to the game, in places not bad fun. And, of course, the soundtrack with the famous Psycho Killer.
Cons: Actually, Vin Diesel and the script.
Sometime in the past, sometime before the fourth 'Fast ' I really liked actor Vin Diesel. I admit that he never reached the level of Al Pacino or Robert De Niro, but it was nice that he did not claim it, but just took his acting niche and smoothly promoted it.
Shooting Steven Spielberg in ' Saving Private Ryan', an adventurous adventure in ' Black Hole' and the comedy 'Bald Nanny' have become Diesel's trademark hallmarks, and I haven't yet said about ' Three Xx' and the very first 'Fast '' But then something happened to Diesel and he wasn't the shirt guy we loved. He became arrogant, began to play the same type, utter pathetic quotes and just laugh. The same thing he does in 'Bladshot'.
I think that in our Russian lands, few people knew the hero of American comics. Still, the comparison of a mercenary and Superman with Batman was clearly not to the benefit of the first. But the producers really wanted to compete with the two most famous Universes of Movie Comics on the big screen and ' Bloodshot' appeared in the movies, not justifying absolutely no one's hopes.
Vin Diesel plays a typical soldier of luck, who plays with gloomy eyebrows and periodically distributes new phrases left and right for thematic groups on various social networks. Returning from another mission, Ray Garrison (the so-called hero of Diesel), wants to relax with his beloved wife, but everything goes wrong, and now the soldier lies without memory in some secret laboratory.
After recovering, Garrison, or now Bloodshot, carries out orders to eliminate Dr. Harting's enemies, but doubt is born in his brain. Harrison notices that he is not told the truth and begins to take revenge indiscriminately all in a row. Only it turns out that he is a little boring, from which the film loses its main trump card.
There is no hope for Diesel in this film. He's completely wooden again, I don't know if he'll ever admit that he made a mistake and stopped looking for new roles and images different from Toretto and his other monotonous appearances. But Asa Gonzalez is here and takes a little attention to himself. She's a beautiful girl, but she's not an actress. But even though the guys and some girls will be happy to see it, I do not think about competition on external data. The plot moves along a predictable line. The militant is replaced by empty talk and vice versa. Even the ending was not particularly spectacular.
I did not like this film at all, both for its one-sided idea and Vin Diesel in the lead role. I used to wait for his projects with special impatience, and now he is the reason that I want to miss everything that is not related to the fantastic world of the once racing ' Furious'.
In my childhood, one of the popular genres of comedy was parody – especially in this field, the leader was “Scary Cinema”, ridiculing several top films at once. But modern problems require modern solutions, and Bloodshot comes out on big screens.
A well-known bartender once said that if a cocktail contains more than three ingredients, the result is complete nonsense, since it will be difficult for the guest to taste. Also with this film - there are so many impurities and borrowings that you do not see what the authors have brought from themselves.
“Fast and Furious”, “The Matrix”, “Deadpool”, “Hardcore”, “Upgrade”, “Venom”, “Riddick” – this is only a fifth of the films that came to my mind in the first 20 minutes of watching. And after all, it was possible to take the quality and level, but no – took the very moments that, apparently, were on the action in Pyatrochka: cheap and curved special effects, wooden actors, logically ill-conceived scenario, absurd and blah blah blah.
The only thing that pleased me was the episodic role of Toby Kebbel. Oh, and beautiful Asa Gonzalez. What happened on the screen did not cause anything. And with all due respect to the fact that this is a film adaptation of a wildly popular comic (I didn’t read it myself, I was told so)

Vin Diesel is too public, in my opinion. Yes, he looks cool in the frame, his characters, Domenic Toretto and Riddick, are the coolest heroes of action movies, but he is frankly getting too old to play such cool uncles. In this film, he is a kind of universal soldier, but with great fighting abilities. Sometimes it was very clear to me that this was not his role, especially now. Uncertainly he was shown the whole figure of the character, and the years take their toll, in some shots he was frankly flabby.
In my opinion, the film has a very weak plot. Agree, when you have a super-duper-invincible hero at your disposal, you need to use it to the maximum. In this tape, the scope of what was happening was not large enough. And there were no super massive battles. I wanted more specifics from his abilities and more enemies. But we have what we have, a rather weak use of a cool character. I'm not familiar with the comics about this character, but I think he was cooler in the movie. And my expectations from the film, in general, were serious. I really believed that this tape can become a real combat fiction, where there will be a minimum of snot and a sea of endless action. In general, there was no snot, but with the action clamped the creators of the tape!
A movie about power. With a super-soldier in your control, you can move mountains and easily remove people who are unfit for you. Such power makes a man a beast for whom human life is not worth a fucked-up egg, he simply forgets that even the most cruel and dangerous killing machine can have feelings and conscience. Although at one point it seems that Vin Diesel's character has no feelings, he did everything with one morose expression. However, Diesel is like that in most of his films, maybe that's why I don't like him.
Overall, the film is average. It seems that everything is filmed and executed beautifully, but there is no scope, and there is no purpose either. It looks easy, but it doesn't make it any easier. Today, few people watch a film for the sake of a film, everyone is looking for some meaning and hidden subtext, and not just staring at a beautiful picture. You can look, even get some pleasure from what is happening, but this militant is not capable of more. Blockbuster was not a blockbuster, unfortunately.
The 21st century is the age of manipulation, which the film perfectly reveals.
It's a chic, dynamic action. The producing countries — China, the United States — made a film about private corporations. Private corporations are triumphing again with their secret experiences. It is only a pity that the enemy is some sour and incomprehensible. Actor Vin Diesel is a superhero. It's not an action movie, there are elements of fantasy. I loved the film. I'm excited about the work of director Dave Wilson. RST makes people into superheroes. The military is again the raw material for the geniuses of private corporations. Memory is a powerful topic in the modern world. Modern people are overloaded with information, and memory fails. Memory, memories, control of emotions - all this is chicly played in the film.
Soldier Ray Harrison is a soldier of honor who has his own "come home" principles. Home and going back there is a great fit for the US. Immortality and memory are a very philosophical topic in the modern world. I was struck by the theme raised in the film: “control of the immortals.” The film is very dynamic. Controlling memory is a good argument for corporations to develop their technology. The 21st century is the age of manipulation, when not only the media pull the strings, but corporations make controlled people. There are powerful special effects in the film. Large-scale graphics make the film very spectacular and colorful.
It's really cool that director Wilson did such super powerful special effects. RST Corporation is an example for other real companies. It seems to me that such superheroes from the military exist not only in the United States, but also in other armies of the world.
The writers (their 5 people) wrote a chic plot for the action. This is a 4K movie and should be watched in IMAX. I really liked the movie. Vin Diesel is a true superhero.
One day, a soldier Ray Garrison is killed by a madman, but by the will of intelligent scientists, the hero returns to life thanks to nanomachines that live in his blood (they do not let him die). Now he wants revenge, and for this he is ready for anything. I don’t know if it’s part of his employer’s plan. More specifically, one of the plans.
Here it is impossible not to compare this film with another great film franchise ' Furious' largely due to the fact that Diesel is there, that here plays the same, as if the same character, only under different names. Not trying at all, but in the early 00s he gave such hopes (see ' Black Hole'). I’d have the same pitch of action and special effects, but that’s superfluous, now all blockbusters are so ephemeral. And as for 'Bladshot', its main problem is implementation, and this is with a chic idea. It is interesting to watch the first hours, because there the writers made a very cunning and memorable twist, generating a ton of questions. But after it begins the usual, predictable and not at all memorable action movie.
And what is a shame, the writers did not try to make this film at least cool (this, again, concerns the second half - to the first claim there is no). You think that after such a twist there will be something interesting, but no - Diesel takes guns in his hands, chases, explodes, shoots, fights ... As if all the talent of the story was only half the script, stuffing in its place clichéd dialogue, plot moves and action-action action. Ending? You can guess it in half the movie. The cherry on the cake is a dull and predictable villain.
The worst part is that we will only be told half of the story, leaving other answers as seed for the sequel. Which probably won't. In the end, we won’t know who Diesel was before the film, why scientists chose him, or who the real enemies are. And what will happen after, because the film ends in no way, with a greasy ellipsis with a reserve for the continuation.
On the other hand, the film will go to those who just want to relax and enjoy what is happening. It's full of action. Pin-pop, a lot of corpses, blood (just kidding, no - the movie is PG-13). Something's exploding, flying. All this has been seen a million times and nothing special attracts.
'Bladshot' - a typical uninteresting blockbuster, which boasts only the first half of the film, which keeps in interest. Then begins the graphonic circus, which will be forgotten 10 minutes after watching. If you want action, it is better to watch the Furious - there are at least funny boy quotes.
I'll start with the background. There were times when Vin Diesel made good movies, like Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan. Then he was basically an actor of one image - a tough guy who likes to act his own way. These are films like “Three X”, “Fast and Furious”, “The Chronicles of Riddick”, “Babylon N. E.” and even “Bald Nanny” (albeit a film and cartoons in the style of Disney).
However, after four parts of “Fast and Furious”, “Riddick” of 2013, “Three X: World Dominance”, he lost this coolness (not completely of course). I have nothing against these films just for a couple of views in the company of friends and laugh. The movie "Bladshot" was the same.
The film is a bit reminiscent of Universal Soldier with Jean-Claude-Van Damme, which has distinctive properties compared to the second example. The plot is rigged for the leading actor; phrases that the actor uttered in almost every film.
In fact, his story is simple and not annoying (however, the creators could have done better), the head of the corporation (Guy Pearce) is essentially the same villain from Iron Man 3 (but slightly dumb). And the most important characters are clichés: a beautiful young lady, a stupidly evil villainous healthy man (he likes to talk, but in fact fuflo) and a black hacker who emits humor and succeeds in everything.
The graphics in the film are not that bad, but just mediocre. Still, the creators could have done better. And the claim about the rating of PG-13 because the movie is kind of about a cyborg killer who kills extras in creative ways, where at least a drop of blood because everything that shows this flour in slowdown and red spots are not quite like blood. After all, the action film is not bad and add blood and would look much better.
Although the shortcomings were indicated on the other hand, what could be expected from the director of a cartoon short with beautiful graphics in the style of cyberpunk, but the promotion of feminism and mediocre plot.
In fact, the film could be much better if you hired an experienced director and made an age rating R.
And given the situation with the coronavirus, this is perhaps one of the films that you can watch in the company of friends just out of interest. The film itself is not bad, but not good, could have been better.
I will make a reservation right away - I am a fan of comic books, not comic books, and therefore I am obviously extremely skeptical of any comic book adaptations. Mostly thanks 'masterpieces' Marvel. However, their 'Guardians of the Galaxy' made me believe that it is different.
But that's not the point now.
So, from the point of view of 'fighting' - Yes, the film is enough ' typical cliché-fighter' But. And what other action movie isn't a typical action cliché? Same thing. Those who insist on what it's like 'wow-wow-wow', clearly missed the moment where the film ... ridicule the clichés used in the film! What makes all attempts to condemn the film for this extremely ridiculous, because the film already knows it.
Next. I’m not a big fan of Diesel in general, but of Diesel, who doesn’t look like the character he’s playing (and even his age) visually. But he wasn’t as annoying as he could be. His right ear (or left ear?) was sometimes distracted. In addition, I can only complain on 'grafonium' which in some places resembled the kinzo of zero.
There's nothing else to scold. Yes, the story is somewhat different from the comic book, but if you judge it this way, and not consider the movie separately from the comic book, then Marvel distorts its characters much worse. For example, the original Bloodshot ' Overcame' control PRS (in the film - RST) on its own mostly, and then already found friends. And the team of guys with implants in the comics is much more impressive in themselves - up to flights and fireballs. But it would be too long a smear that comics, not a movie, can afford.
What’s good about the movie is it captures the general mood of the character and the comic. Although Bloodshot usually caught himself reflecting when he was in the thick of events, which more emphasized the fact that he is a murder machine #39 - around blood, blood, blood, people die from his actions, and he thinks about what he lost himself. But nevertheless, the recollection scene did cool, it was his immersion in memory and the collapse of everything in the real. Beautiful transition.
And special attention should be paid to the secondary characters who made Bloodshot that Bloodshot, which Diesel himself, either through the fault of the writers or in his own way, could not make. This is a funny Eric, a harsh CT, absolutely unpleasant legless & #39; colleague & #39; (even his name did not remember) and a quiet blind man who did not deserve what he received, Tibbs. Harting itself - ' Godfather' the main character, after all. Well, the cherry on the cake is Wiggans (yes, his character is also a cliché, but I love such characters and this one is no exception).
Also very often in reviews met ' Complaints' that ' not mentioned any other character in this universe'. I think it's for the best. Valiant only enters the market and quite correctly do that they come from one (in addition, one who has rewritten the memory, which can be changed any way you want (and he is also a metamorph in the future) - if you know what I mean). It is better to conduct ' experiment', ' feel the ground' and fail with one character than with all at once.
And yes, one of the opening scenes, the one with the music and the maniac and the murder, is my favorite.
Very impressive in terms of visual effects. But absolutely nothing from the point of view of the director. Wait, I saw that. And let's start listing. Immediately comes to mind the first "Universal Soldier" (without its numerous remakes, some of which are very good, and spin-off, but this is a separate conversation). "Anger" with Gary Daniels (by the way, a great movie, for those who haven't watched, I recommend). And sometimes even "Terminator" with some echoes of ugly "Transformers." And it's all about him, about the Vin Diesel movie. As a movie to pass the evening will go very well. But here on the masterpiece, sorry, does not pull. And all this speaks to the crisis of the genre of the American film industry.
Well, not everything is bad, as many swear and spit.. just it's usually nothing new, an ordinary action movie, with a simple and worn-out plot.. but the truth is the script has a number of innovations, that if you put more effort writers, but in the hands of a talented director, the film deserves more praise.
Only the lazy did not mention the secondary of the last film with Vin Diesel 'Bladshot'. Seeing the trailer, everyone immediately realized that the idea of the comic book, based on which the film was shot, was copied from the film ' Universal Soldier'. After reading the first reviews, one would think that Diesel had followed the path of Nicolas Cage and started acting in full thrash. However, after watching the film, I found a picture quite worthy of its genre. If we compare with ' Universal Soldier', then there is a very smooth and quite original plot that does not sag and does not repel its absurdity.
The main problem, I think, is in Diesel. The film’s target audience is young people who don’t know who Van Damme is, but Diesel is an old man. Any younger actor could have secured a box office, even Toby Kebell, who played a cameo, would have attracted more viewers as Ray.
The second problem, after the Avengers, seems to be little action in Bloodshot. Recently, the audience is sorry to pay money for a film lasting less than 120 minutes. But at the same time, many complain that they are tired of the Avengers and the endless stream of action on the screen does not guarantee success. Perhaps the filmmakers did not guess with the middle ground or simply did not have enough budget, but most likely both.
In general, I consider the rating of the film unreasonably low.
7 out of 10
Bloodshot was certainly unlucky. I can’t say that the film Dave Wilson fully paid off at the box office, but the virus COVID-19 put the film with Vin Diesel noble pig: only he went to the rental, as soon as the cinemas closed.
The film is based on the comic book of the same name from Valiant Comics, developed in 1992 and tells about the former special forces officer Ray Garrison, whose body after his death has undergone significant changes, turning the already skillful fighter into a real killing machine.
Expected that the viewer will watch it with an open mouth, the film actually turned out to be good in its entertainment, but the whole idea (as well as the implementation) was implemented somehow superficially, raw.
Bloodshot as a character in itself is very similar to "Universal Soldier" and given the time when Harrison and the Unisols appeared, we can safely say that Valiant Comics "stripped" the idea of reviving dead soldiers to create more skillful masters of combat from Roland Emmerich's film. This can be concluded at least from the fact that the filming of “Universal Soldier” was spent time: the start of filming was announced in 1990, and they began on August 12, 1991, which means the film appeared before the comic book. And when you watch Bloodshot, you have the viscous feeling that you have already seen it. Moreover, the plot line of the picture with Vin Diesel in a large number of cases repeats the plot of Unisol. Here and the notorious theme of revitalization with improving skills, and the corporation that created Bloodshot, and his team (the same modified ghouls). In general, the same eggs, only in profile. It's certainly disappointing. The viewer goes to the cinema for originality and spends money on what he saw a year ago in 1994.
Vin Diesel as the performer of the main role - that is, the role of Bloodshot was not convinced of the word at all. According to the description given on the page of the film on “Kinopoisk”, his wife is killed, after which Ray Garrison goes to revenge (the story is quite fresh and not worn out, agree?!). So Vin Diesel to play a grieving husband (yes, or in principle to show emotions) is categorically contraindicated. Either Diesel is too fond of pumping muscles, or he drove too many different drugs under the skin, but the facial expressions on his face are completely absent. Everything he does, he does with the same facial expression, adding to it the weightiness (or clumsiness) of his own body. The same Dwayne Johnson, though healthy as a wardrobe, but in his movements traced plasticity and the directors, who are filmed, know how to shoot the actor. In the case of Dave Wilson, it seems that he simply did not figure out how to use the dimensions of Vin Diesel. The actor himself appeared in the frame as a natural log. Without emotions, without feelings, without effort.
Of course, this was dictated by the peculiarities of his character - a vengeful person should not show emotions (and thereby show his weaknesses), but during the film, the main character experiences sad memories, which means he suffers. Judging by Vin’s face, he suffered only from the fact that he was lucky enough to pick up dumbbells just once for the film.
The musical series written for Bloodshot is too epic. For such a soundtrack, you need events more ambitious, more epochal than the murder of a couple of slackers in a car tunnel or the massacre of the head of some corporation there. There is a lack of grandiose scope as in the same “Avengers”. Slow-mode, which is already tired, is involved here to the fullest and as our filmmakers love to shoot action scenes, slowing down everything in a row, so Dave Wilson decided that without such a shooting, no less driving scene will do. Was it necessary to show everything in this format so that the viewer could savor the scenes of shootings and fights? I doubt it. Now the episodes are extremely aggressive and exciting when everything happens dynamically and quickly. This gives the impression that the character in the frame is really professional.
Despite the fact that the director from time to time throws up facts that make you doubt some aspects (here, for example, a wound to the side shown, but left without further attention), this does not affect the perception of the plot as a whole: there is a feeling that everything shown was somehow ineptly molded into a single piece, diluted with primitive and standard dialogues and mixed in a blender with a slow-mo mode.
As a result, we can say that Bloodshot does not look in one breath and it is not able to surprise. Again, if you remember "Unisol" - then you're watching an action movie with Diesel, predicting further events by clicking your fingers.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
“Bladshot” is quite a digestible comic book (and this is really a comic book adaptation) about the adventures of a super soldier. Thanks to fantastic technologies, he became virtually immortal and wanders around the world, carrying out secret government assignments.
Vin Diesel here is not only the lead actor, but also a producer. In general, he made a movie about himself and his beloved. and like everything here in their places: courageous men, beautiful women, collected at least from the experienced elements of the plot manages to look fresh and cheerful, but something is missing. And that's the budget.
Cheapness cuts your eyes. Television quality of the picture, the format “more than two in the frame do not gather”. Finally, for an hour and a half only two epic fights, and those are filmed sloppy.
History could have been saved by humour, but it's also a stress. Jokes, jokes, which have long become an integral part of the culture of the comic book, here actually shine with their absence.
But the film may well find its viewer in the evening broadcast of some cable / satellite channel or as part of the next “marathon of men’s cinema”.

This movie has one plus and now we know why Dominic Toretto is immortal.
Finally, my opinion is the same as most people’s – I didn’t like the movie. And to be honest, the film isn’t that bad anyway, unlike my expectations — I didn’t find anything downright bad there, but I didn’t find any good either. In its structure, the film is similar to the first Iron Man, well, in the sense of the story is very similar and I did not leave the feeling of dejave. But there were great characters in the hardware and despite the simple history of becoming a superhero, the film is still the benchmark of a comic book movie, with which I agree. In Bloodshot (by the way, why was the film called Bloodshot? yes, I know that this is a film from the comic book of the same name, but no one here called it that), the characters seemed very lethargic and emotionless, it was quite boring, especially at the end.
Plot:
Once upon a time there was a tough and brutal bald man who had a wife. Then something happened and the wife was grabbed along with the bald rocker. The head of the gang killed his wife, and then pitched. Dominica was soon revived by replacing blood with nanorobots, making his type immortal. He then remembers everything (it was in the trailer, so it wasn’t a spoiler) and decides to take revenge. It all seemed to me too clichéd to become a superhero, who was also in the aforementioned Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man (2002), etc. – there was a simple man with a slight difference from the others; something happens to him; he changes in character; everything is type-top and he lives for his pleasure; there is a villain and we are waiting for a mahatch, the end. But if there dragged characters, approach, original humor, excellent soundtracks and atmosphere (in expensive films you can not consider special effects), then there is nothing!
Characters:
Bloodshot is the same Dominic, except there are no cars. Only here completely do not care about the character, because apart from the fact that he has a wife, we have not been told anything, and he is essentially immortal, he does not want to empathize. There’s also a log-girl who’s needed to make the story happen and bring more drama about “her sad and poor story.” There is a very inexpressive villain in a jacket and a crazy scientist at the same time, do not care at all, just let the experiments be carried out on people. There are mini-villains who are on the errands of the main villain, one of whom is like a cool one, cooler than Diesel, and just smacks over him, because it is necessary. And, of course, a black bearded hacker who is also constantly laughing and trying to look like a jester.
Visual:
From the side of special effects, everything is not so scary - it is made qualitatively for a budget of 45 million, and the picture does not cut your eyes. But everything is served somehow tasteless, and in the end everything turns into the most ordinary ending with fights, but everything here is very weak.
Soundtrack:
He's pretty faint too, and I don't remember him. Even the melodies of the memorable could not bring.
Bottom line: not the worst action movie I've seen, nor the worst with Diesel, but it's still bad. The visual is done well, but it is not at all interesting, the characters are pathetic, the soundtrack is weak, the film is constantly trying to make inappropriate jokes, and not funny.
5.0 out of 10
At the beginning of the film I wanted to spit because it seemed too natural. I thought: ' Screenwriters have made up shit again'. On the Diesel, the military uniform sat clumsy. It seemed to be small in size or two. The hero, the anti-hero and the situation were portrayed too caricatured. It was as if the film had been released.
By the middle of the film I thought: 'Not bad' The script justified the unnaturalness of the beginning. Looking to the end, I caught myself thinking: - 'Funny!'.
I understand that action films do not have an intellectual component and strong demands on them to make no sense, so in such films I pay attention to the naturalness and adequacy.
What do I mean? If the film is a hero with some superpowers, then it is justified that he uses them. But if the hero has no abilities, then I do not understand how in a closed room a burning helicopter falls, explodes, and the hero comes out alive and unharmed (for example, as in ' Bad Guys 3'). Or, when the motivation of the hero or anti-hero, as in soap operas, is stretched behind the ears (again the same stone in the direction ' Bad guys 3').
With adequacy, Blodshot is fine. The movie looks harmonious. Humor is appropriate. The plot is thoughtful. One thing I didn't like. Again, the masses are being manipulated through the cinema. There's kind of a 25th frame in the movie. She was involved in a rescue operation in Syria during a chemical attack. We (the US) are good, they (Syria) are bad.
I didn't expect anything from the movie. Diesel didn't associate with anyone. So the movie went well. I'm going to put a five with a minus (due to manipulation). I would love to review it again.
