Nice movie. James Gunn is on top. Everything that Marvel had in mind worked out, and sentimentality and jokes and action. Such an outburst of "tangage," a certain circulation of the DC universe. I love it. Great. I recommend it. 🕶
What did not happen in the depths of Marvel before the shooting of the long-awaited third part of “Guardians of the Galaxy” began. Producers kicked out James Gunn for old jokes he had long repented of. Then the coronavirus pandemic began and no one dared to start shooting. Moreover, no director wanted to replace Gunn in the post, and eventually he was persuaded to return and he directed his film, which became one of the best in the Movie Universe in a long time.
After the events of Endgame, Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, is in a prolonged depression. His beloved Gamora has died, and the girl who returned to our universe does not remember him. So Quill is drowning out the pain with alcohol, but things get even worse when the Guardians base is attacked by a certain Adam Warlock and severely injured by a raccoon Rocket. There is little time to save and we need to act.
The team decides to find out who exactly conducted the experiments on the Rocket and turned him into a sentient creature. It turned out that this is none other than the psychopathic idealist Higher Evolutionary and he wants to bring his creation back. But Quill and the company are not going to indulge him and get involved in another fight throughout the Galaxy.
The film was quite spectacular and extremely emotional. Finally, Gunn confirmed what we’ve all known for a long time—his Rocket is the protagonist of the trilogy. Although previously the emphasis was on Quill, but if you put all the details together, you understand that “Guardians of the Galaxy” tell the story of a combat raccoon.
In the film, there are many flashbacks that reveal the Rockets’ past and now there is nothing secret in the history of the trilogy. We will learn exactly how Rocket acquired his incredible skills and what it led to. Such moments turned out to be the most emotional, and the leading villain, although not awe-inspiring, but you sincerely hate him for his actions.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a great entertaining blockbuster with a soul. There’s certainly a bit of thrashing that James Gunn loves so much, but that’s not a problem, as the movie came out colorful and memorable.
All viewers who do not have a geek component in the absolute, will understand my review, hot fanboy ready to justify any sur and absurdity of the agenda mood of the mouse house, it is better not to read.
So, I watched the film a long time ago, but hands to write a review, came only now. Of the trilogy about the Guardians, this film was the most difficult and time-consuming for James Gunn, since before the director, and now the head of DC-reincarnation, had to go through a culture of cancellation, the studio’s refusal to shoot part 3, and later through the struggle for creative freedom when working on this film. Given the fact of the release of the film in the light, as well as excellent fees and positive assessments, it is not difficult to guess that the director succeeded. For which he is clearly honored and praised.
Generally, James Gunn director, whose handwriting is visible in every film or series, there are many such directors, but the man clearly has a unique handwriting. In each work, the same characteristic is seen, take the Guardians, Squad, Peacemaker, in all the pictures there is lightness and humor, while the plot and events of what is happening on the screen are not cut to the detriment of the perception of epicity.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the final part of the trilogy, at least so stated by Gunn himself, and the actors all as one said that they do not plan to return to the role of their characters only if the same director is not in the chair. And I want to say right away that the team turned out not worse than the previous parts, but in some ways even better. What is happening on the screen still looks bright, beautiful, dynamic and interesting. The storylines of each team member are written and finished to some extent. Although there are questions about the line of Gamora and Quill, clearly not finalized and the end of their journey leaves a feeling of unsubstantiated and openness, and even at the end of the film we were shown the line that ‘Star Lord will return’, is this not a joy for fans?
But, did the standards fall, and did not the eye washed, after a ton of selected g... from Disney? That’s the main question that makes you think about the contrast, and not against the background of poor Black Panther 2, “even 1” and everything else, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 look like a breath of fresh air? I think everyone will decide for themselves. The film is not a masterpiece, not worse than the first part, but better 2, there are its drawbacks, where the feeling clearly lacked timekeeping and elaboration of the main love line, which was almost the center of the plot of the WB and the previous parts of the Guardians.
The Guardians of the Galaxy are some of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe. I really liked this approach of a kind of "madness." Madness in everything - in the atmosphere, in the heroes themselves, in humor. It really wasn't like other Marvel movies. The Guardians had their own, not unlike, mood.
The third part, on the one hand, is trying to preserve this mood. But, almost from the first minutes of the tape, you realize that this time there will be more drama in the plot. It's like being a teenager. The guards are not a little bit, but still fades into the background. It’s as if history is growing up. And, at the beginning of the viewing, personally, it caused me even a slight misunderstanding and rejection, but later still hooked. However, one cannot but agree that in this film there are a lot of scenes that too obviously put pressure on emotions, which, of course, is frustrating, since in such cases the viewer loses touch with the characters and feels deceived.
If we take the visual component, then we can safely say that this is again a very good work of the studio. This is a very decent superhero blockbuster with excellent graphics, beautiful productions of fights, explosions and the picture in general. Considering that in the last work of the studio, it seemed to me that they began to skip, it can not but be pleased.
Did I like the whole story and how it ended? Frankly, no. Not because the story and the ending are bad. I partly understood that it was impossible to dwell on the same thing for a long time, and it was obvious that the life of the Guardians must change by the third part. But I still wanted to keep those same Guardians with their “adolescence”, stupidity and stupidity.
For director James Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy series became a gateway to the world of blockbusters and he used his chance to the fullest. And despite the fact that after the second film, Gunn temporarily soured relations with the Disney studio because of silly jokes ten years ago on the network, the director was still able to return to the set and put the third film of his most famous yet franchise.
Peter Quill continues to suffer and literally gets drunk because his beloved Gamora died, and her version from another universe knows absolutely nothing about him and refuses to build a relationship with the guy. Gamora is easier to fly in space with a gang of pirates led by Stakar Ogard, but it is definitely not near Quill. So our Guardians of the Galaxy are entrenched on a small remote planet and here everyone does what he likes.
But when vengeful aliens with golden skin decide to remind the Guardians that they once greatly insulted them, the heroes have to unite again in one friendly team, because the Rocket raccoon was badly damaged as a result of the battle. If he is not saved in a special laboratory, he will die. And to prevent this, the Guardians need to find a special code that has a scientist named High Evolutionary, who, as it turned out, once created an intelligent raccoon Rocket during his brutal experiments.
James Gunn knew it would be his last Disney and Marvel movie, so he wrote a heartwarming script that could bring tears to those who watched all the other movies with smiling mouths and eyes. And it is interesting that here the main character is not so much Quill as the raccoon Rocket. To some extent, it even seems now that the entire Gunn franchise was built around him, while Quill was only a supporting character.
Numerous flashbacks show us key stages in the life of the rocket, which we had never seen before, but somewhere suspected that this was the case. The High Evolutionary created the Rocket for special purposes. And as long as the scientist needed him, he was not in danger. We also met other experimental animals from the lair of the Evolutionary, and these moments were the most dramatic and emotional. They decorated the film and made it very deep.
“Guardians of the Galaxy 3” fully met my expectations both in terms of plot and humor, and in the field of dramatic revelations. James Gunn proved that he is able to make serious entertaining films and he can only wish success in further creative endeavors.
9 out of 10
Whether I'm growing up or the series is deteriorating. The previous two parts were watched and revisited with interest, despite the humor focused on children and teenagers that bothered me there. The same part became uninteresting to watch from the very, rather dull, beginning. Well, I think it might get more interesting, but no, it didn't.
The plot is as simple as a hole in a bagel. The villain is unconvincing, the image of a sinister genius does not suit the actor, he still seems to me a good character simply because the actor has a good face. Gamora is much more like a villain: she is angry in life and she does not feel sorry for anyone. I didn’t know what had happened to her, that she had changed so much. The subject is not open from the word at all. Also, the story of the golden man is very poorly disclosed, I did not even remember his name, and yet his role is the most important in this story. Nebula didn't recognize him at all. Star Lord, as always, is ready to sacrifice his life and friends for his player.
The costumes of the characters in places are as infantile as humor: some like children on the morning dressed in colorful suits, others flounder in space in costumes of orange marshmallows.
The classic of the genre was also the presence of such unrealistic from the point of view of physics and logic moments as the "hermetic" docking of two dilapidated spacecraft so that living beings without spacesuits could safely jump from one ship to another.
There are many incomprehensible moments, as well as moments exploiting the theme of inhuman treatment of children and animals, which should squeeze out a tear from the viewer. I feel sorry for them and without the sick fantasies of the authors on this topic.
In general, from the film, the feeling of an incoherent stream of consciousness, in which the emphasis is not on the plot and harmony of the narrative, but on emotions, which is achieved by frequent spectacular episodes to music, and in places the film rather resembles a music video.
I also didn’t understand the scene after the movie ended where a revamped team of guards is going to carve out a flock of cute animals on their own planet. And it's all presented as if this scene is supposed to make us feel unrealistic about the coolness of the guards.
That humor, of course. It is also aimed at children and adolescents of school age.
This story was always yours, you just didn't know it.
“Guardians of the galaxy. Part 3 was another occasion to scold Disney for daring to fire James Gunn. Imagine a situation where the last part of the trilogy, in which one director put his whole soul, would shoot a completely different one? I'm sure many of you would be more skeptical of this, as I am. However, this did not happen and we can thank life for allowing Gunn to put an end to this story. Just a little while.
“Guardians of the galaxy. Part 3 is not only a farewell movie, but also a full message to humanity: Be kind to animals. PETA (people deeply concerned about the fate of the furry) has named Guardians of the Galaxy 3 the best film of the year about the rights of our brothers and sisters.
A little bit about the plot. After the Guardians rescued the universe from a mad titan and walked with Thor (who subsequently went on a slightly kringe adventure), the team recovers and is placed in Oblivion. While Peter Quill drinks, missing Gamora, and Craglin learns to use Yondu's arrow and calls Cosmo a bad dog, the quiet and calm time is interrupted by Adam Warlock.
Warlock's goal is to capture Rocket for his boss, which we'll talk about later. The mission Adam failed, but he was able to inflict serious damage on Rocket. To save the raccoon, the heroes must reach his heart, hidden under a cunning mechanism. It is impossible to hack the device, and the heroes go on a new adventure.
From the first scenes, the film lays one rule - there is no laughing matter. Rocket has always been the soul of the team, but little is known about his past. So James Gunn decided to send us into the past of a raccoon that will reveal a terrifying truth. Looking back at Rocket in past films, you can see why he is so hot-tempered and distrustful of others, and why his only friend was Groot before he met Quill. Although, it is worth noting that the first meeting of the raccoon and the tree did not show, which to some extent disappoints.
The Rocket story is the quintessence of all the drama in the trilogy. Returning to the previous parts, you can realize that he was the key hero in all events. He constantly resorted to crazy plans and often found himself on the edge, preparing to sacrifice himself, for the sake of one goal - to save friends. That is why in the third film the team responds in kind.
Despite the rudeness and rudeness, Rocket became the basis of the team. And Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3 focuses on this, showing almost the most heartbreaking original in the entire cinematic universe.
Although the film focuses on Rocket, Peter Quill remains a key character. In Avengers: Infinity War, Peter and Gamora opened up to each other, after which Quill was robbed of the most precious thing in his life. Gamora, of course, is back, but not the one we are used to. She doesn't know Peter, Rocket and Mantis, which is a tragedy for the former. When Gamora meets Quill, there is hope that he can still be brought back.
In the film, Drax puts a very simple thought into Peter’s head with the help of a metaphor about water lilies. Peter is overly dependent on one water lilies, in this case Gamora, but he needs to learn how to swim. And throughout the story, the hero begins to accept this metaphor.
Nebula was also very pleasantly surprised. Behind a cybernetic shell and a cold killer lurks a compassionate girl who struggles to save her new family, albeit in highly unusual ways.
Speaking of the unloved, Adam Warlock. He is one of the most important characters in Marvel comics. In the film, the main villain ordered Adam to be pulled out of the cocoon prematurely, and therefore he is still a child, literally. He does not understand simple words and huddles with the animal. Of course, Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3 is just a setup for the future, but why?
The hero passes his atoning arch, where he learns the right things. However, it is simply impossible to take this seriously after watching We Are Millers.
Let’s talk about the main villain – the Supreme Evolutionary performed by Chukudi Ivuji, who played in the past project of James Gunn “Peacemaker”. Despite the skepticism on the Internet, I was confident from the very beginning that the actor would cope with his role 100%.
The Supreme Evolutionary is a collective image of all human cruelty. At the same time, he has no motivation, he is a villain because he is evil, traditional in the sense of villainy. This is where the formula works.
He is the most repulsive character, causing zero sympathy for him and only annoying with his presence in the film, and the Guardians treat him the same way. From the very beginning he is disgusted. His experiences are dirty, vile and wrong. He imagines himself to be God, a kind of Dr. Moreau from the novel by the king of fiction Herbert Wells.
The villain thinks he is perfect, but he loses control and becomes hysterical. The Evolutionary shows carelessness and, it would seem, the film goes into a kind of self-parody, but Gunn masterfully interrupts this line.
“Guardians of the galaxy. Part 3 conveys a powerful humanistic message. This is a film about growth and acceptance. A message to the viewer that we are all one and everyone deserves a second chance. The film is inspired by acts of truly cosmic kindness, based on respect and love for all living beings.
The final chapter delightfully concludes the story of our beloved Guardians of the Galaxy, combining dramatic events and comedic elements, and providing an opportunity for many previously less well-revealed characters to come to the fore. With tears in our eyes, we don’t say goodbye to them, just see you soon.
A set of stamps of all conceivable directions and appointments.
Nebula became fat and began to behave like Gamora in previous films. Gamora? The teenager was left without a father and went into all serious, having obvious problems with socialization, here is modern Gomor. Mantis became a neurasthenic man. Drax is an idiot. Quil still became like Thor, but not the god at the beginning of the story, and the drunkard from the beginning of the Avengers finale.
A feast of stamps and templates. Even what is supposed to work in a dramatic way is really nothing more than primitive cliches about suffering animals, orphans, etc. And to exacerbate the impact, all this is flavored with a hard Saw style. A shocking black woman in the right places. Who gave such a rating to this spectacle?
Cardboard main villain, not at all intimidating and not even inspiring at least a bit of respect psychopath. What, why, for what? Most of all, this psycho resembles the neighbor's boy from the first part of Toy Story. He's kind of miserable...
A cool character, High Priestess/Debiki, was leaked. I was curious once upon a time.
But most of all as a character pity Nebula - now it is a classic commissar of the Soviet era.
The story completely lost the elegance of the first parts. The most characteristic image is Gomor on the toilet. Anyway, Kaha directly... That is, the Guardians themselves.
But the action is still more than in the second part.
A very dramatic interpretation of the Moreau story in the Marvel Universe
Even in the information about the film, the direct text tells about the sources of inspiration for this part - and this is both a minus and a plus. The downside is that the story is no longer original and the script turned out to be rather lazy. Almost everything is taken from the work of H.G. Wells. Plus, also significant - this film adaptation turned out to be much better than the picture with Val Kilmer. And here everything is in equal proportions - both sadness and fun. But with the main villain of the tape, the evolutionist, there was a miss. The villain with his global idea turned out to be too empty. In the end, it is simply bewilderment with such forces and the desire to improve the Universe to see frankly ridiculous actions. But this is a typical comic book without much depth. In the process of viewing emotions arise strong and with this directors are able to press, but after watching there is a feeling of another one-time blockbuster for one movie session.
In general, in many films of the Marvel series there is such disposability - they are designed only to brighten up the evening in cheerful company and cut the box office. Judging by the collections of the authors quite succeeded. Therefore, the tape is watchable both in cinemas and at home. The only bad thing is that it does not stand the second viewing, unless it is a rabid fan of comic books. The film is too detached from reality - almost everything here is drawn and it is already silly to follow some physical logic. I was pleased with the presence of a dog in a spacesuit of the USSR - such a pleasant tribute to the pioneering animals in space. Because of this, when viewing in some moments, it was pretty pinched.
As a result, the film is worth watching, although at the beginning it may seem a slow swing. By the second third, the film is quite attractive, although it does not allow to fix on the details. Everything here is typically rapidly flying over their entire huge budget of several hundred million Americans.
The long-suffering triquel "Guardians" finally released in "digital", and I got acquainted with it. Yes, it’s still an author’s movie and it’s not that radically different from everything that was previously in the series, but the plaque ‘Written and Directed By’ decides. If you evaluate it, then evaluate it as from and to the cinema of Gunn.
Superheroes have been in crisis for a long time. After No Way Home, Feige and his production have nothing to offer. The fourth phase was merged from and to that even Zhao with the religious “Eternals” did not steer, and therefore the audience had to interrupt on streaming in the company of local TV shows. As for James, it's clearly a thorny path from cancellation culture to repeated universal acceptance and comeback. This is his last film for Marvel, after which he allegedly leaves for DC. So what did he leave us for last? It's simple. A beautiful farewell to the Guardians of the Galaxy team with the guiding idea of family values, friendship, mutual aid and environmental protection. The author took to Greenpeace to follow Cameron, and it looks quite organic. The main character here is, unexpectedly, Rocket, and through him the meaning of the whole work is broadcast. I like the form of the movie: a good script and a fascinating plot, a competently smeared raccoon exposition throughout the film, which keeps the intrigue to the end, although the manipulative scenes that should break the tears did not work (well, at least for me). The film suffered the fate of 'seriality': I literally didn't remember why Gamora was no longer in the team and what happened one movie ago, but that didn't stop me from enjoying watching it. The action is at a default level for the studio, although the long-plane knapska in the rapid near the end of the film I rolled.
Acting jobs have not changed: media people came both to give a performance and earn shekels. Pratt, Gillan, Batista, Saldana, Cooper, Diesel, Stallone, Fillion and a scattering of other eminent actors here are in full. Excellent camera work and a lot of countonium. Yes, now we shoot blockbusters from and to pavilions. Excellent sound design and soundtrack (Gann never had a problem with that).
'Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3 is the best movie since the third Spider-Man and a head above anything seen in the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spectacular, fascinating, funny, driving summer blockbuster, which is nice to watch all two and a half hours. I can’t say I’m a fan of characters or I’ll miss them now. Not at all. There are much more interesting heroes in the MCU, but the fact that this is a quality work is undeniable.

The final part of the trilogy includes all the best of the past parts. Humor, beautiful soundtracks, good cast, strong emotions, correct morality and high-quality action.
Special thanks to the director and screenwriter of the Guardians: James Gunn, you’re cool. Thank you for the quality trilogy. Most Marvel fans appreciated this series.
This is one of the best Marvel movies in my humble opinion.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a very full movie. But this part is not comedic, but only dilutes the dramatic and emotionally heavy plot. Also, the film raises several quite important and even topical issues, exactly what will be to think about.
Guardians of the Galaxy is a trilogy primarily about family, friends, honor and respect. And then there's the funny guys who save the world.
After watching, there is a pleasant aftertaste and interesting thoughts about God, family and love. One of the most sensual Marvel films with an interesting and tough plot. I recommend everyone to go to this movie in the movies, and not watch at home on TV, the effect will not be the same.
P.S. I'm afraid that's enough.
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best trilogies in the history of the film industry. The quality gets better and better every time. James Gunn, famous for controversial films in his career, unconventional jokes, for which he is often criticized, was able to adequately and on a high note to finish the story of the beloved team that became each other’s family.
Let’s start with the plot: in this part we finally reveal the past of Rockets, which turned out to be very sad and made all fans of this character cry. In general, absolutely all the scenes with Raccoon in this film are emotional and will not leave anyone indifferent. James Gunn was able to develop the character from an introverted, rude, selfish bounty hunter into a sensitive, cute fluffy, ready to give his life for his friends who became his family. Parallel to this storyline, we were also shown Adam Warlock, who was hinted at in one of the post-credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy: Part 2. I immediately want to say that something special should not be expected, since the character has just been introduced to the MCU, which means that it will be revealed gradually in the next films.
As for the soundtrack, here again everything is fine, as in the previous parts. Get ready to add another selection of tracks to your playlists.
The visual effects are done perfectly, given previous MCU films, where the graphics leave much to be desired. You can see that Kevin Feige and the visual effects team worked hard on the picture to bring back the old days of Marvel Studios, when every film was praised for everything possible.
It’s the perfect ending for the Guardian team we know. All the story arcs are complete, many characters have found what they wanted, and some are just on their way to it. It’s sad to know that next time we’re going to see a team of Guardians with a different lineup and a different director, as James Gunn has finally gone to another studio to develop a new universe.
The wow effect of the film begins with the first chords and lasts until the last scene after the credits with a certain inscription, which I will not spoil.
And, thank God, my eyelashes have grown, because if there was mascara, it would have gnawed into my skin with gums - my hysterical crying was interrupted by my equally hysterical laughter. And all this with a big plus sign.
Experienced director and screenwriters skillfully juggle audience emotions, bringing them to the peak in sometimes opposite directions.
The video row is very beautiful, sensual, it is a classic "Strazhevsky" flowercore with saturated cosmic colors of all shades. The music is always great.
All the characters are skillfully woven into the script, their arches are open, logical, brought to a certain stop point, which completes this tape, smoothly focusing on the future of the cinema universe.
The picture came out very kind and touching, everything from the soul-breaking story of Rocket to the cameo Yondu makes you feel compassion with maximum force.
I found an extremely funny element with a kind of cosmic “household” – the attack during a visit to Gammore’s bathroom and other small moments made the film, the heroes, and the story itself very lively and real.
And separately, I want to add about how the film crew approached the disclosure of negative emotions and conflict resolution - this topic, like powdered sugar on a donut, flies through the entire film, showing us habitually calm characters in an unusual role.
Watch and enjoy, do not be embarrassed by the timing of the film, it is completely justified and not a drop will be delayed.
Guardians of the galaxy save the raccoon Rocket, which was hunted by its insidious evil creators. The quintessential American idea is “put down a million people, but save one private Ryan.” Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to burn at the author: three ... two ... one ... ignition!
I admit, it’s all beautiful and epic, millions of dollars multiplied by millions of special effects, but I feel like Marvel has peed. Now the impressions of films are not the same as ten or fifteen years ago (and no, it’s not me who got old, I continue to watch old pictures with great pleasure). They seem to have a set of plot patterns, and they shuffle them together. Remember, kids, none of the coolest graphics can replace an interesting plot. All these extravagant images of characters, strange blown costumes of guards, numerous exhibits of the zoo named after Dr. Moreau - it all does not catch if there is no sense and intrigue. What else does not like, once again at Marvel - is taken absolutely cheap and flat two-kopeck drama and served with such a tear that at least the icons take out. And the audience is all climbing for handkerchiefs and napkins, as if the new "Schindler's List" just watched. I understand that 70% of high ratings were put by schoolchildren who have never touched a really good film by the tittle, and if they touched it, they did not understand, but still the sediment is unpleasant.
I am sure that if you make a heroic effort, sit down with a beer on a weekend and review all three parts of the “guardians” in a row, then after the first one there will be the best reaction, because they were dynamic and funny. In the second part, unnecessary passions have already started to heat up and there is a tightening, and the third part after the first two is likely to make a oppressive impression (and not because the beer is out). There is very little fun and good jokes. At the beginning of the film, I was moderately happy with the bearded joke about “kill all people on our way” from Drax, but I never met anything fresher and more original, in all 2.5 hours of watching. The way heroes fight against walls and ceilings when they fall is not funny. Quill’s numerous monologues about how he misses Gamora and the circumstances in which they fell out are not funny, but rather silly, despite the comments of the rest of the group when you hear them for the third or fourth time. Seriously, if I want to watch a drama about the importance of family relationships, the tragedy of unrequited love, and the quest for my destiny, I’ll find and watch one. But I don't want ideas about the importance of family relationships to be broadcast from dashing space fighters. From such films I want them to be stylish, dynamic and with a sense of humor.
Another thing I didn’t like was that all the new characters were incomprehensible. The golden couple, it seems, are crammed in purely for salvation in the last scene, paying only a little more attention to them than a funny Soviet dog with telekinesis, despite the fact that they are actually powerful guys. Glavgad is some absolute crazy this time, who constantly yells wildly at everyone (even I was uncomfortable to watch, although I am already an adult uncle) and completely merges in the final. There was no point in remembering the rest.
Now for the good. There are some very cool fighting scenes in the film, some of them cool, but this is 100% due to computer graphics, and there is, for example, the chic scene of mass combat in the corridor from the end of the film, shot in one take without editing glues and it is really very beautiful. Drax performed by Batista continues to be a cool and inexhaustible generator of cakes. Also a huge thank you to the authors for the episodic role of Nathan Fillion, we miss Captain Reynolds. And -- all good, it seems. The rest is a prank or not.
This is the new and final story of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but if the first part was the story of Peter Quill, then the third part is the story of the Rocket. Where he came from and why he became so. It all begins with the Guardians of the Galaxy being attacked by Adam Warlock to retrieve the Rocket, they successfully repel the attack, but in the course of all this, the Rocket is wounded. The guards must go in search of the deactivation code to save the life of a friend.
I wasn’t really looking forward to the movie, I thought I couldn’t do anything more interesting after Endgame. But I was pleasantly surprised, the story of Rocket, the story of his tragedy and his pain. You can see why the rocket was so closed. He was afraid to lose loved ones again.
The final part was a bit sad and fun at the same time. When you watch it, you realize that this is a kind of finale and that there is unlikely to be a sequel, although you want to believe that the story will continue. And that at least once again we will see Peter and his team.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe. Part 41. It's good to have friends. . .
While I’m always looking forward to new MCU films, I do admit to some of the slowness and stagnation of the last phase. But there were hopes for a third Guardian of the Galaxy. After all, they have come a long, thorny way to our screens. The wait was worth it, as we have the best film of the cinematic universe of recent years (since No Way Home).
The Guardians of the Galaxy from the first film was probably the most unusual project of Marvel - a team of little-known heroes, in which nobody really believed, but after 2014 they are loved and I know everything about them. One can often wonder what the secret to their success is, although the answer comes immediately. This is a very atypical team of superheroes who are quite unlike their "colleagues" in the cinematic universe. This is a team of losers, underdogs, underdogs, who were not often lucky alone, but who became stronger only in the team. Weird, motley, dysfunctional, but still a team that eventually resolve their differences and stick together. Still, the main family of the MCU is the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the third part demonstrates the most vividly.
The Guardians of the Galaxy films also featured special humor, more uncouth and relaxed. The third part in terms of humor does not disappoint at all - and half of the film you do not stop laughing, as in scenes with communication channels, escape from the laboratory or just any quarrels between the characters. Of course, there is some drama, serious emotional problems of the team members, but the main message of each film about the Guardians is still humorous. And in this respect, the triquel surpasses all of them, showing us the darkest, most tragic and heartbreaking backstory in probably the entire movie universe. I thought that I was ready for everything that James Gunn had prepared for us – but I did not expect that superhero cinema would break through such powerful emotions, make you love his characters so much, or so hate the main villain. It was powerful, incredibly powerful. . .
What the Guardians have always remembered are the places of action. Since they are guardians of the Galaxy, we have always been waiting for a visual journey through the most beautiful and unusual places of the vast Universe. The third part confidently holds the stamp, showing us the most unusual places - for example, the laboratory-living organism of the Orgosphere (I do not remember that it would ever be possible to imagine something like this), or the inhabited and staffed base of Oblivion (now we can examine it in detail, and wonder at some of its possibilities), and Counter-Earth (which, despite the fact that it is a completely different world, but how everything in it is similar to ours). And of course, a special place is occupied by the soundtrack - an audio-journey on famous hits of the last 40-50 years: the more serious song Radiohead - Creep sets the tone, but continue Crazy on You - Heart, Reasons - Earth, Wind & Fire, No Sleep till Brooklyn - Beastie Boys, Dog Days Are Over - Florence and the Machine, and concludes the trilogy of the one that opened it: Come and Get Your Love - Redbone
Over these 9 years, we have already loved the main characters so much that it is just a pleasure to watch them all together, whatever they may be. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), aka Star Lord, the leader of the team, who is now experiencing a difficult time after the loss of his beloved and drowns grief in a bottle. But, when necessary, he will pull himself together, put on jet boots, armed with proprietary blasters, prepare a new Bowie ship for flights, ingeniously improvise, the first in the history of the MCU swears, and will not give up, especially when the lives of his friends, his newfound family are at stake. Gamora (Zoe Saldana), a professional killer who, due to a temporary move from 2014, completely does not remember the time spent with the Guardians, so she finds their team completely strange and reckless, does not accept Quill’s attempts to mend past relationships, but still finds a common language with them and goes to battle with them. Drax Destructive (Dave Batista), the Guardians’ main strongman, who has no social skills, who more often than others throws himself into battle without any plan, causing a universal facepalm, especially in Mantis (Pom Klementieff), a telepath who shows herself as an excellent fighter and the main emotional “coach” of the team. Nebula (Karen Gillan), a former killer with a bunch of deadly modifications, made one of the best transformations into a real heroine and an important member of the Guardians team (here was her strongest emotional scene). Groot, an anthropomorphic tree that has passed puberty, has become a real rocker and often a secret weapon in seemingly hopeless times and is now understood by all the Guardians (despite the doubts of the Gamora). And the central character here is Rocket (Bradley Cooper), a modified raccoon, mercenary, weapons specialist and genius inventor, who we have all these years perceived as an ordinary character, not really thinking about where he came from. And now, after learning about the most heartbreaking backstory of the MCU, you perceive him very differently - someone who went through so much pain and tragedy in his youth, which hardened him, but which he never forgot, and now he has a chance to change something and maybe find peace of mind. . .
It is nice to see in the triquel both old acquaintances and new ones - like Craglin (Sean Gunn), who is still training with the crest and arguing with the telepathic dog Cosmo, or Adam Warlock (Will Porter), a perfect warrior of sovereigns, but with the intelligence of a child who still has so much to comprehend in life and at one moment, just brilliantly plays his name! It was also nice to see Nathan Fillion, to whom Gunn gave a very memorable role as Karge, a laboratory guard. Wonderful were the first friends of the Rocket - the same modified animals, the otter Lyla, the walrus Tooth and the rabbit Field.
We finally got to the main antagonist. The Supreme Evolutionary is a brilliant scientist, cruel and ruthless, whose idea-fix is the creation of a higher race of beings, and for these purposes he is ready to go as far as possible, to commit the most terrible deeds, to sacrifice absolutely everything possible. His obsession cannot be justified, this insanity must be stopped – we are here in full solidarity with the Guardians.
Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3 is the perfect conclusion to the main trilogy about the most uncouth, humorous and crazy intergalactic team of heroes. Knowing that this is James Gunn’s last Guardian film, it’s sad—if it comes later, it’s a different story. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude to James and the entire team for 9 years of fun, great heroes, amazing music and an amazing story.
10 out of 10
The film can be divided into 2 parts - the usual heroic, and tragic dramatic. And if in the hero everything is usual - action at its level, familiar heroes, humor in places worthy, then in the dramatic everything is sad. Again, Marvel is trying to make a serious film, but it does not work. What touches people the most is the suffering of children and animals, and that in the end it is full of both. But this empathy is not of some deep level, but the exploitation of the most primitive (though important) instincts. A separate minus for the villain, at first it seemed that there would be a very interesting villain with his philosophy, capabilities, etc., but by the middle of the film he bluntly merges, becomes obsessed, makes stupid decisions, contradicts the stated personality at the beginning, etc. A separate minus for using a propaganda stamp about Laika.
As a result, a controversial film turned out, on the one hand for lovers of the universe it is quite suitable, on the other hand inferior to the previous parts.
6.0 out of 10
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 won’t like you if you’re waiting for 2.5 hours of fun and fun. This movie is darker and more serious. However, I love the first and second parts of "Guardians" both for entertainment and for important topics.
The second in the Marvel films after Avengers: Endgame is often missing. Many of the sequels were an absolutely empty popcorn spectacle. Only "No Way Home" pleased with the crossover and touching moments. I’m glad to have found another good and valuable film in its current phase.
As a director, I like the fact that his characters are alive, and the situations and actions in them are plausible.
Yes, there is pressure to “regret”, but it would be inappropriate and not touching, if there was no connection of creatures with the history of the Rocket: its humanistic values and the cruelty of the antagonist.
Yes, the old heroes are yelling at each other, but their team has always been so conflicted. These characters understood each other in 1 film. Why would they suddenly be cute? Because some viewers disgust watching them as they are?
The turns of the film are predictable for the viewer, but the film is well staged, and how it will happen is interesting to observe. Spectacular action and beautiful views are attached.
I’d like Marvel movies to take a course in living characters and stories about something important and valuable. Not necessarily drama. But you want something more serious, not just pow-pow, special effects and “we have a new black superhero here, love him.”
Iron Man was an adult story with compelling issues. This is Cinema. And Guardians of the Galaxy 3, too.
Quality and timely rotation with a taste of sadness
The characters of the Guardians of the Galaxy have always enjoyed great love among the audience. Gunn's job was to say goodbye to the previous team so that the audience would enjoy it. And he definitely succeeded.
The foundation for the triquel was the backstory of the rocket. Perhaps this is the right decision, since even from the first part of the audience, of course not familiar with the comics, interested in the background of this character.
I would like to note the wonderful opening credits, which, like all flashback scenes of the rocket, cause a sea of emotions.
Despite the banality of the history of the rocket, the creators were able to successfully realize all the dramatic potential and squeeze almost everything out of this idea. Yes, the story is not without patterns regarding turns and dialogues, which spoils the overall impression.
If we talk about the film as a whole, then it is worth noting the main villain, who does not have the proper motivation, which of course saddens, because in such a significant for the whole universe film crammed another typical villain for the evening. . .
A little incomprehensible finale of "relationships" Draxa and Mantis, and Peter and Gamora. One of the few strange decisions of the film.
Among other aspects, you can note a good performance of actors, a beautiful picture, music and, as always, appropriate and funny humor.
It was a great journey with the original team of guards. The last race was successful.
I admit, it is not so easy to change a once formed opinion. Including the franchise. But it's all the better that it happened. Although it was quite unexpected. But it would be hard to keep an old, negative attitude about what happens on screen. Yes, it would seem that the second film of the franchise buried those glimpses of humanity, depth and soulfulness hinted at in the first. True, immediately spoiled by flat jokes and wild plot twists. Hope only flashed in a special Christmas issue. Where instead of vulgar jokes and popcorn creaking on the teeth, the plot unexpectedly offered depth and values that everyone could understand. But after the first two films, there was little hope. And here...
Depth, sincerity... The incredible emotional intensity of what is happening... It feels like everything's changed. The characters have become different. Vulnerable, honest. From cardboard heroes to living people. The story was sufficiently adequate. As if the degree of realism had risen to the limit. As much as possible. Even antiheroes have acquired depth and ambiguity. A story of its own that gives it more depth and realism. And the spontaneity of the decisions made by the characters for the first time makes these decisions not idiotic, but lively, realistic, emphasizing their character. And leading to plot twists that no longer seem cardboard and template. And a few scenes touched to the core. And while the stupid jokes remain, they are no longer vulgar. Moreover, they are perceived as a necessary respite to take a break from the storm of emotions caused by the film. It gives additional realism to what is happening. Makes you believe in what is happening on the screen. In fact, I want to believe it. And friendship, warmth, mutual assistance and love - the red thread runs through the film. So is humanity. Instead of the vulgar jokes and empty scenes from the first two films. It's nice, amazing. And great. What prevented the first two films?
On the agenda is a novelty from Marvel - Guardians of the Galaxy. The story of the story after all the troubles with Thanos.
The storyline in this part is tied to my favorite. On the eccentric, attractive and courageous hero - Rocket. Such a delicate topic as family, devotion to friendship, self-sacrifice, one’s own destiny is touched upon. There's something to be learned about.
This wisdom may be hidden in tragedy and humor, but it is impossible not to think about it in some moments.
Incomparable play of actors, high-level special effects. Everything is quite standard for Marvel movies. But it was this part that caused me a million cheering emotions. This is probably the best I’ve seen in a couple of years.
Director James Gunn, as always, managed to filigreely combine tragedy, gloom, sympathy with uncouth humor, with subtle jokes, with rueful and talented dialogues between the characters for me. Very subtle and unsurpassed. I was just laughing.
Perhaps all of Gunn's films are a bit predictable along the overall storyline, but don't take away his talent to stuff this predictable overall plot with a great unpredictable subplot inside.
Zoe, as always, was able to show all her talent, the emotions of the heroine. The moment you see emotions in your eyes. Whether it is hatred, whether it is empathy.
Great tandem of Drax the Destroyer and Mantis. Deep down, I hope that in some part they will still become a couple.
A little embarrassed by the villain. I didn’t understand how this guy who creates whole worlds suddenly became so crazy and so stupid. Can emotions really cover your eyes and destroy your common sense? Rhetoric.
Not without a new participant in the story, whose role was unsurpassed by the “loser” of all films actor Will Poulter. The plot with him was predictable, because anyone who watched movies with him will understand me. But he did his own thing. You can't borrow talent from an actor. Playing a fool is still a must.
The history of the Lord himself is intertwined here only on the scale of their common cause. He's just as in love, suffering. He is a wonderful friend, a person who can love and be friends and be brave.
I can't help but throw in a spoiler - Groot said something more than "I am Groot."
The red thread of this part is to understand who is who, in particular my favorite and brave animal.
And he will find the answer to this question, going back to his difficult past. You can't get away from yourself.
This film will answer the question of who he is. And he'll answer it himself. He's a raccoon!
Review and impressions of Guardians of the Galaxy 3!
When you don’t believe that Marvel movies can surprise you in a good way, James Gun appears. And shows the world how to adapt a comic book with a view to a wide audience, but not forgetting the canon.
The film will appeal to fans of the series of Guardians, and fans of film mixes in general, and fans of light fiction, and fans of entertaining cinema. It’s hard to imagine an audience that doesn’t like this movie. The film has a very large age window.
Gan, as a creator and creator, plays the best scenario, skillfully shuffling drama and serious questions with amazingly windy action scenes, a magnificent cast, and simply enchanting space locations.
And all the main action of the film takes place under the infectious and pleasant hearing rock extravaganza. The soundtrack to the Guardians films is my separate and great love. I can’t help but notice how gorgeous the tracks in the film are!
Pros:
Magnificent caste;
Charismatic heroes;
Many stories and characters are revealed from a new perspective.
The soundtrack is simply divine;
Locations and costumes;
Cosmo;
Cons:
That rare moment when there is nothing to write down in the minuses.
Quote:
- We will kill everyone who stands in our way.
- We are not going to kill everyone.
- We'll kill a few people.
- We will not kill anyone.
- Kill one guy. One stupid guy that nobody likes!
Perhaps the Guardians of the Galaxy have grown up and have not lost a single ounce of fun, sparkling jokes, lightness. Looking at the trilogy in its entirety, we see how entertainment cinema turns into a platform for raising quite serious topics and things. Here and saving nature and care for animals, which is lacking in all times of mankind. In the light and experiences from the loss of close and dear to our heart people. We have to move on despite the pain. The only thing left for us is to remember with a pure heart those who are no longer with us. We see a difficult topic – acceptance of oneself and the desire to be heard by loved ones.
But here's what's amazing - the seemingly complex themes Gun presents us against the background of action adventure, humor, and an incredible soundtrack. Then the tears turn into laughter. It would seem difficult things, but they are revealed in a language that will be understood by everyone. Add jokes, humor, ridiculous and funny situations to this cocktail, and you will make a great movie.
Heroes: All the characters in the film were revealed and shown from completely new sides. Drax and Mantis, who finally opened up, showed the world their skills, thoughts, experiences. Quill grew up, and learned to let go and forgive. Gamora is a character who splits into several variations from different realities, and unfolds in its own way in all. Groot, who finally told his loved ones everything he wanted. Kraglin, gaining confidence, becoming a worthy heir to Yondu. And, of course, the story of Rocket, which will not leave indifferent and break your heart. I note that the villainous roles in the film were spelled out no less spectacularly and entertainingly. They say that the most difficult thing is to play a villain so that he is remembered. And with this perfectly coped actor Chuckwoody Iwoge, who played the High Evolutionary.
Bottom line: all parts came out decent and even a short episode of Guardians of Christmas with Kevin Bacon Few directors have made such an organic trilogy, but James Gun did it right and logically. Thank you to him and the whole team! It was a wonderful adventure!
As expected from the Guardians of the Galaxy, this film again raised the theme of the importance of family, support and mutual help, but also touched the important topic of finding yourself alone, away from people who are comfortable for you.
Everything about the background of the Rocket is really beautiful and touches the living (although it is difficult not to touch the poor animals with footage).
After the active events of the past parts of the films with the history of the Guardians of the Galaxy, there were too many incongruous events in this film. It would be nice if the third part was an existential thriller and not an action movie. The part where we would learn more about the past and the problems of the characters. And the whole part with the action would be moved to the fourth part of the film, where the problems would be solved.
The fact that the humor of the teams take out all the films in a row on the same topics (Drax’s stupidity, Nebula’s aggression, Quill’s crises, Mantis’ kindness, etc.) is pretty boring.
Well, according to the classics, I want to highlight the fact that the soundtracks that are used in Guardians of the Galaxy are simply VE-LI-KO-LEP-NY.
Other Marvel movies are good. But it is very stretched, 2/3 full of just fan service. The main plot is not bad, but then you can directly see how they forget about it for a while and insert some left anecdote. Very lacking in the compactness and integrity of the first part. Maybe I remember her too well.
The first Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn, was breakthrough on many fronts. For the first time, Marvel decided to go beyond Earth for an entire movie and it turned out great. And after almost 10 years, James Gunn returned to Marvel to finish a trilogy about his favorite characters and it is safe to say that everything turned out at his best.
The story takes us back to the Guardians of the Galaxy, who have found a new outpost and are trying to help those who ask for them. Sometimes for money, sometimes for nothing. Peter Quill suffers from the fact that Gamora from another reality does not love him and drowns grief in alcohol to the fullest program. But the biggest problem came to the Guardians along with the slightly silly but very dangerous Adam Warlock, who badly injured Rocket.
Being without memory, the Rocket will weaken in front of his eyes. But since he was an experimental model for the experiments of a Higher Evolutionary, it is impossible to cure Rocket. So the Guardians need to break into the scientist's lair and figure out how to save a friend. But the Evolutionary himself wants to bring the Rocket back, as he may be the key to his future plans.
Interestingly, there are no global villains in Gunn’s film that seek to conquer the entire universe. This time, the director tells us the personal story of Rocket and finally removes the weight of the white spots from his biography. Now we can confidently say that we know almost everything about the Rocket and this can not but please fans of the series of films from Gunn.
I also liked how the director combined comedy, fiction, drama and even body horror in his film. Those scenes that describe the Rockets' past personally give me goosebumps. This is very creepy and at the same time very important for understanding the plot and what everything ultimately led to both the raccoon and his friends.
The final “Guardians of the Galaxy” turned out to be a beautiful film in every sense, which will definitely remain in the audience’s heart. Soul superheroics will always be popular, and James Gunn proved it.

You need to learn to swim, not to jump from the water lilies on the water lilies.
The final part of “Guardians of the Galaxy” was successful. It was in this picture that we finally managed to catch the necessary balance between drama and comedy.
The film reminds of the problem of cruelty to animals, the bitter loss of loved ones, the problem of fathers and children, the search for their own self and of course the theme of family and family.
If something was missing in the first parts of Guardians of the Galaxy, it is probably this – a powerful humanistic idea that can inspire a person to acts of truly cosmic kindness based on respect and unconditional love for all living beings.
I think the big plus of the film is the successful development of all the characters. Everyone here has his “star hour”, and the evolution of the characters does not seem far-fetched;
All secrets have been revealed, and the story arcs of the heroes have been successfully completed. The actors in the film did their best.
Tears, joy, laughter, a storm of emotions accompanied me throughout the film. I appreciate it!
When a cheerful adventure franchise is sharply trying to suck up the pathos drama – why and why?
And even without a clear plot. And with incredibly boring new characters. And also with some sort of ugly naturalism.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" - was a cool cool tintz - with gags and memic dudes and clowns, and became some kind of pro-Greenpeace edifying almost a parable. And the kids are in for the final. Only the kids weren't there! It would seem like an easy method, wouldn’t it? Here they mock animals, and here they mock (human) children, and we are all so upside down: oh, how touching! how relevant for all times and universes! how important and necessary for everyone!
OK, for some showy European author's art house, which is filmed to tickle the nerves of businessmen from film production and their film critics - yes, this is serious and important. But for those who came to scold and spit on their favorite fun Persians – hardly. And frankly, the hopes and expectations of those who are “happy” – I personally feel more sweet and understandable.
(Yes, by the way, Herbert George Wells’s The Island of Dr. Moreau, which is clearly referenced in the James Gunn film, has no more eco-apologies than Mary Shelley’s Doctor Frankenstein or Mikhail Bulgakov’s Heart of a Dog.) All these stories are not about “unfortunate animals”, so!
Of course, in addition to the complex tragic fate of the raccoon Rocket, there is something else in these “Guardians”. But -- in fact, no. Everything else is a stupid confusion of scenes with clarifications of relationships, running and ridiculous monologues. Thus, only in the “story of the Rocket” there is at least some clarity, but do the Guardians need this story in principle? I seriously doubt it.
