Presented at the theater box office in 2013, an action-packed hermetic action film ' Escape Plan' was successful, despite the fact that some critics noted its belonging to the conditionally called ' Old School'. But a special and alluring knowing viewer ' highlight ' ' Escape Plan' it was that on one site met the masters of the workshop ' heroes of militants in the 80-90s' Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. A good script from the debutant in the feature-length feature film Miles Chapman and a high-quality production from Mikael Hofström, who has already managed to get to ' Escape Plan' to prove himself with a good side thanks to the tapes ' Evil' (2003), ' The Price of Treason' (2005) and '1408' (2007), brought 'oldschool' the action movie more than $137 million at a wide box office with 50 million spent on the production of the picture. What could not but please the releasing studio 'Summit Entertainment' But from the subsequent sequels 'Summit' virtually disowned. And as if looking into the water: the second part of the noisy militant turned into a complete disappointment for the viewer.
And even more surprising was the fact that already on the set of the second series it was announced the beginning of zealous work on the creation of the triquel. Together with 'Summit' from 'Escape Plan' Mikael Hofstrom left, and with them the sponsorship (the budget of the second film was reduced to 20 million) and the level of production. Shooting ' Escape Plan 2' Steven S. Miller only confirmed that he is only up to the status of an ordinary ' furious' director, who even a well-written plot will turn into a dull spectacle. So the fact that they decided not to renew their cooperation with him was not surprising, but he was replaced by John Herzfeld, a director of clearly middle hand, who managed to make a faceless movie, even if Robert De Niro himself starred in it. But Herzfeld’s worst work is considered to be another action movie 'Get Me Out If You Can' (2014), in which Sylvester Stallone played the main role. I do not know what motivates the well-deserved ' boxer of all cinematography' to participate in such consumer goods, but he is increasingly beginning to fill niches in the filmography of our adored ' John Rambo'.
What do we get in the triquel 'Escape Plan'? First, a template plot from the same Miles Chapman, who literally fixated on his project, and did not notice that he has long been engaged in self-plagiarism. But even this would not be so scary if it were not for the chromakei of the third ' Escape Plan' Deliberately darkened tones, thanks to which the viewer must clearly perceive the horror and panic atmosphere of the prison casemates, causing claustrophobia, were so oversaturated that sometimes you had to look into the picture to finally understand what was happening there. Because of such inappropriate coloristics, it is very difficult to understand the emotional play of the characters. But then hides another mistake - the third ' Escape Plan' is replete with action scenes of contractions, but you can only understand the flickering of the limbs, and the contractions themselves are perceived as if you were wearing a night vision device. My personal opinion: operator ' Escape Plan 3' Jacques Giuffret, known for the trilogy 'Judgment Night', and remains a weak representative of his profession, and the work in the third ' Escape Plan' deserved at least a nomination for ' Golden Raspberry'.
As for the acting performance, everything is clear here. Sylvester Stallone, for whom I recently ' cheered' at the annual ceremony ' Oscar' when he was nominated for an honorary award for the next incarnation of the image of Rocky Balboa, his participation in films like ' Escape Plan 3' frankly disappoints and even offends, especially fans. The only ' plus' is a beautiful physical form of the great 'Slya' who is over 70 (!). Dave Batista, of course, his parameters inspire respect and awe, he has charisma, but, perhaps, I will try myself as a predictor and say that his role in ' Guardians of the Galaxy' is the best that awaits him in cinema, and the role as in ' Escape Plan 3' is copying himself, because more Batista is not yet capable. And whether there will be someone who will consider Batista’s new facets of acting gift is a big question. A pity and Devon Sava, who could not develop his success after filming in the first & #39; Destination & #39; (2000) and slid to second-rate cinema. To which, however, can be attributed without any misunderstanding and the third ' Escape Plan'. Despite all my respect and audience love for the invincible Sylvester Stallone. We hope that he has a long life ahead of him and new brilliant roles. Rocky and Rambo are not the same.

In our time, the era of militants, in my opinion, has become somewhat curtailed, perhaps this is due to the mass consumption of the lack of a cinematic idea, although many may wonder - And was it, in such a seemingly open and understandable genre as an action movie? I will tell you that, of course, it was, because the thought giving rise to a real story, which merges not only remarkable genre elements like visualization, replicas, drama found its place in this genre, it is enough to recall the classics of Van Damme, Schwarzenegger and of course Stallone, the latter today and will be discussed, and in particular about one of the new creations of Sly, called Escape Plan 3.
Strictly speaking, in the film Escape Plan 3, I can note that I would not be so offended at times for the work of the actor if I initially expected what I will see, i.e. if you initially assume that the picture will turn out to be rather inconsequential, or if you initially understand that the element at first glance of meaninglessness and incomprehensibility of the narrative plays some key role, after which everything becomes unified, as was permissible in the Fight Club, , & #, if you really start a new picture on the first one's scale, you can not really mention it in this / b> that the first place, but you have a new one has been shot at the same time.
In turn, “Escape Plan 3” turned out to be rather weak, both in the storyline and with the video series it seemed that something strange was happening. I will not deny that Stallone has always been and remains a genius of quite understandable, and simple manifestation in cinema, his characters are really people, albeit in a very extreme situation, but still Sly even in simple found that life thread capable of reaching the very depths of the soul, in this case Escape Plan 3 became a kind of guest participation of the actor, although there were attempts to bring his story to the center of the narrative.
What is remarkable, the picture, despite the almost complete lack of substance, has become a friendly haven for actors whose talents may have been and have not been revealed to the end, we are talking of course about Dave Batiste, who iconically embodied Drax in the series Guardians of the Galaxy from Marvel, but outside the franchise has not yet found the true vision of his potential and still wandering in uncertainty between one or another genre, perhaps in order to demonstrate his versatility, which we will see... further, part of the series, Daniel, who has not yet played the role of the martial artist from that moment.
This film really absorbed a good and talented team, Stallone since the Expendables has always been distinguished by the fact that he invited iconic masters of his business to his films, but in this case the film became, as it seemed to me, more just a try to look at the story of the hero in several unfamiliar places, try to tell what was not said once, not so much being important, if so, then even here, there is a very uncomplicated beginning of the story that actually failed to begin, perhaps played a rather inappropriate transience since the release of the last Escape, you know, it reminds me of the fact that the history is not lost from the era, but it does not want to spend some time, but it is not so much money in the era of the past, but it is not being lost, but it is not to the era of the past, but it is not to be lost, but it is not to the era of the past, but the past.
Nevertheless, rejecting the subjectivity of the fan - Despite the weak plot plot, a fairly simple visual, the movie has the presence of honesty and uncompromising, perhaps originally designed not for mass, which actually every time Stallone is better and better promotes, and at the same time for viewing not so unsightly, rather this movie in which embodied simply the desire to do what is not expected of you, just a little lack of thoughtfulness, because in fact, the original Plan of Escape, when the thought that is born inside is able to save you from the seemingly irretrievable.

It's easy to see why the "Escape Plan" triquel was filmed in the same seat as the sequel. Both films are more of an investment exercise than real sequels. You can talk about it safely, and with any viewer, not even with a moviegoer. The concept suggests video parlors — those low-budget movies whose motivation is more like trying to snatch a few pitiful dollars from intellectual property. “Escape Plan” already with the sequel exists in this twilight budget constraint zone, and the triquel only more firmly entrenched the franchise in the afterlife of the small screen.
Stallone again plays Ray Breslin - the second fiddle in his own franchise. Much of the plot actually revolves around a martial artist, a security guard and just a nice guy, Shen Lo, who is eager to atone for his sins. It just so happens that the love of his life is the daughter of a Chinese business magnate and she is kidnapped by Lester Clark. Who is Lester Clarke (Jr.)? Without entering the territory of spoilers, I will say that the connection of the antagonist with the franchise is sewn with white threads. Again, Ray and Shen show up, call on Dave Baptiste and Fifti Saint, who have one-dimensional characters, and go to stop the bad guy.
The introduction of Chinese elements into the narrative was prompted by the whims of investors. There is certainly a discourse in Hollywood today about Chinese economic salvation. Escape Plan 3 follows this policy, but it does not play on multiculturalism. These turns feel very strange and alien; all this is far-fetched and simply illiterate. Moreover, such a strange director’s decision is reflected in the entire production: the Chinese are shaved, cold-blooded, fly in private planes and live in buildings made of glass and concrete. The villains wear crumpled leather jackets, hang out in Belarus and all that.
Action is also not the strongest aspect. Basically, everyone just growls at each other and engages in fist fights. Stallone tries to bring the mental pathos, but he goes too quickly into Rambo mode and the formula is so obvious that it destroys more and more emotional moments. Batista is removed from his hero, so there is no one to charge the viewer with charisma.
At the most elementary level, it's a disgusting film. Cinema is ugly and the impression is made worse by poor lighting and a yellow filter. The installation is absurd, breaks the illusion, and the apotheosis becomes excessive abuse of product placement of the company's products. It is not known what dragged A-stars like Stallone and Batista into the dying franchise, but the fact remains that this lazy failure must be the worst that these actors have faced in their prolific careers.
For the third film, the authors decided to move away from the usual “we’ll put him down – and let him get out.” This time, Ray Breslin will act more as a rescuer than a burglar. And he'll have more helpers. Although the action will take place in prison, it will not be quite as it was in the first two parts.
I don’t know what the filmmakers did when they released this film. For our time, the plot turned out to be quite simple and kind of raw, or something. There are so many things you don’t believe in, from the word “at all.” I understand the motivation of the actors. Sylvester Stallone is now unlikely to be invited to the box office blockbuster, and you need to earn. Once revered by everyone, the rapper 50 Cent is also now in a not very good position and you need to earn money. His tracks have not been seen for a long time hit, with a promotional boxing office, he received nothing but losses. Dave Batista Like quite a lot is filmed in quite serious and box office films, even in the Marvel universe he was able to climb, but also takes part in such a mediocre spectacle.
I wasn't particularly impressed. There was little entertainment, no special effects. the film is definitely worse than the first part, but much better than the second. In addition, it is filmed in rather gloomy tones. This constant darkness on the screen was very annoying. I don’t understand what kind of fashion went, what kind of movie you don’t watch, it’s always dark, as if you were shooting at night. And in general there is nothing interesting, sluggish and protracted, poor-quality and cheap. I feel like I got a weak writer. Forgive me Stallone, but I would have written stories like this in fifth grade. I'm not talking about logic.
The film did not make any positive impression, the plot is some kind of murky and incomprehensible, the action is not enough and in general there is no special intrigue, everything looks without much interest, so look once, nothing more. The denouement is also a bit strange, as everything is absolutely not thought out.
I liked the work of director John Herzfeld before this film. This time, he's a little pumped up. From his works I saw two days in the valley and 15 minutes of fame, very even high-quality cinema with an interesting and thoughtful plot. How did he get involved in this failed triquel?
That’s what I really liked – it’s a fight scene in the style of martial arts. But I didn’t like that they didn’t reveal the main Chinese character. A kind of mystery man from the song of the same name. Perhaps, it is because of the rather solid fights and it turned out not so bad. Also in addition to the picture is the participation in it Max Zhang. The actor, who has gained fame in the past few years thanks to the role of Chun Tin-Chi from the films Ip Man 3 and Master Z: The Legacy of Ip Man. A good fighter and a pretty confident dramatic actor.
The result is the second! a sequel to a rather cool original film that fails on all fronts, and I will not make a negative review just because of a good fight. The rest of it is very depressing. It is recommended to watch only fans of Sly, and in general you can safely pass by this film. Boring and excessively weak tape, when watching which most viewers will think that only time wasted. I hope there is no Quadriquel!
I have a very stupid habit of watching everything, including sequels. After all, it is interesting to know what ideas from the original developed that the authors rethought, but not in the case of the Escape Plan. The reason why Escape Plan is now a trilogy is obvious, if only because, in 2nd and 3rd, the Chinese are filming, and they are the main characters when Stallone is pushed into the background along with Batista. The Chinese stupidly bought the film and ordered two sequels, and everything was for them, family, and, both sequels were released immediately on video media and in limited release, including in Russia.
I don’t even want to describe the plot, since I forgot it already halfway through the film, it is so meager and uninteresting that to write like this, you need to have talent. The plot is forgotten at least because, I'm stuck with unnecessary scenes with dialogue, and you know, they are long stretched, you don't understand why? Timekeeping is small, about an hour 20 minutes, you need to stretch to the fullest. Thank you for not adding scenes with walking, Kuritsyn would appreciate and along with the actors would take pictures, they say, with his friends from Hollywood again met. You can throw stones at me, but the 2nd part against the background of the triquel looks at the level of the first part. Of course it’s not, but the sequel could have been watched as thrash B-movie, which is also trying to mow under cyberpunk, looked funny. But the triquel wanted to turn off on the first stage. But the pluses in the film of course there, Stallone and Batista in the ranks, the first was given more time, with Batista there are a couple of cool scenes, but Fifti Saint in general appears and is forgotten in one scene, he plays no role in the plot. Well, they tried over the action, not at the level of Raid, but it does not pull to puke or yawn. What about the prison itself? That's why the escape plan is called! And nothing with the prison, they put me some kind of throwback, and then no one is put there, only at the end, but they immediately go out and participate in the final battle. The director literally sends the first two parts of the film to hell and gives me a left-wing film with his dirty hands.
It was bad, even compared to the second movie. It seems to be the last part of the movie. I hope so, because it is scary to imagine what will happen in the 4th.

Probably the most daring daredevil could imagine that after the nondescript second part of the franchise “Escape Plan” will be able to reanimate themselves and give a fitting third film. That didn't happen. I have a lot of respect for Sylvester Stallone, but I wish he hadn’t gone any further on Escape Plan after the first movie they did with Arnie. Sly himself performed here no better or worse than his roles in action films, but as in the previous film, he was not the main character, but one of the main characters.
Again, as before, the plot is built around a prison, where you need to enter to free someone. But feel the difference - what high-tech prisons were in the first two films and what the creators have presented now - an old shed in the style of some antediluvian barracks with a sonorous name "Devil's Point." Location: Belarus. I have nothing against our brotherly country, but I very much doubt that in Belarus, as in Russia, you can find a digitized version of the plan-diagram of some prison, built even in the 80s of the last century. What is shown in the film was clearly built earlier, but the creators of Escape Plan 3 are 100% sure that you can find anything online. Well, good luck!
In essence, the very title of the film - "Escape Plan" did not justify itself, since the main storyline was reduced to stupidly killing everyone and everything and calmly leaving through the main doors of the prison. What escape in this case can we talk about, if there is nothing similar and connects this film with its meaning with the same “Escape from Shaw-Shank”, the series “Escape” or the films “Moth”, or “The Rock”?
Despite the participation in the film Stallone, as well as the famous Dave Batista and Fifti Cent, the third “Plan” turned out to be bad in all its parameters. Giant, gaping bottomless abyss holes in the plot can not be patched with anything. Clichéd clarification of the relationship, when the opponent will be easier to shoot (but no, because you need to hand-to-hand to compare their beasts!), the stupid actions of the villains, who just sit and wait for the good guys to come to them, instead of going one by one into the darkness of basements and catacombs, all these stupid tight monologues of the leader, awakening in the viewer only one thought - "God, let you shoot him already - someone of your own, for there is no more strength to listen!" and no less stupid dialogue in the spirit of "Why did you not save her?" - "I'm asking why?" Answer me! “I don’t have anything to say...” – Just a Ge-ni-no!
Just as brilliant can be considered that some guys, going to the captured prison go there not in comfortable clothes, but in pants, jackets and shoes!
The main scenario move, linking villains and the hero Sylvester Stallone - does not lend itself to any logic - it looks too heaped plan of the bad guys, because everything could be arranged much easier and do without obvious overkill. The film itself in its manner is similar to many action films released in recent years, where the creators do not focus on the details, but show the events in a general large stroke. An example is the location of the best place to enter a prison. How it became possible (in the words that the characters say – it is clear – how), but how in fact it became possible – the director does not explain. This is just one of many examples...
The film is very raw and mediocre. Working out the concept of escapes from prison, the creators tried only in the case of the first part - then went crazy.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Friends, criminal clan, murders, kidnappings, professionals... Are you really interested in all the twists and turns of this story? Despite its predictability, this film surprised me. Being in all respects a purely utilitarian genre composition, this tape could surprise. And really, who forbade producers, despite the obvious resource limits, to take the risk of doing something experimental. And even though from the very first minutes of the tape it became clear that these expectations are unrealistic, it was even impossible to assume that the entire narrative would descend on a sequence of individual episodes. However, the artlessness with which these episodes were filmed is multiplied by the confused style of narration.
In all this grotesque flicker once very influential portraits of Sylvester Stallone, Dave Batista, Fifti Saint. It is difficult to discuss the features of acting - rather, we can talk here about the obligation to work out the contract.
And finally, the credits. The heroes of the militants lit up in the frame. The material is sufficient to indicate their names on the poster with full responsibility. Everything else is details. The main thing here is probably not even waiting for the crowd. The main thing is that the contract is closed. This is no reason to condemn the actors. They had their reasons for filming.
I'm always motivated by these tapes. Carefully looking at them, there is always a desire to create something better, more spectacular, interesting. Here you need to compare, record the dynamics of development in the genre, discuss acting careers. This poor content and quality film can be a great topic for meaningful conversation or inspire the creation of significant works. And since the film encourages creativity, then it is not so useless.

If you do not notice the second, the third is not worth your attention.
The revival of the classic action movie, which occurred in 2010 at the behest of Sylvester Stallone, has acquired a special meaning and slightly displaced modern heroes who used to rely on the wonders of computer technology in the fight against terrorists and other criminals of various stripes. Shattered by life and years of oblivion, celebrities of bygone days again felt the power to shoot further, but the greatest attention was focused on Stallone himself, who, despite all adversity, continued to be a magnitude that should be considered in any case. And the actor did everything necessary to fulfill the dream of fans, starring on equal positions with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the full picture. Acting almost the main character of the action movie Escape Plan, Stallone did nothing truly amazing, but the story of a specialist in testing the most inaccessible prisons was favorably received by the public, although the box office was not as large as desired. Nevertheless, the results obtained were enough for the producers to think about the continuation of the series, in which only Stallone should remain, while for Schwarzenegger for one reason or another there was no place. Somewhat alarmingly, the sequel was announced immediately for release on video with the rare exception of limited release in some countries. And this, in turn, immediately hinted that the quality of the film will be several orders of magnitude lower. Of course, the hope for a better outcome of events died last, but when it became known that the director of “Escape Plan 2” will be Stephen S. Miller, known for second-rate useless crafts with fading stars of the caliber of Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone was somewhat hurtful, since he certainly did not deserve to drown a revived career in outright slag. And Miller actually did what everyone expected of him. His film turned out to be an absolutely ingenious, faded and expressionless action movie with a bunch of dark scenes, spatial dialogue about nothing, as well as a surprisingly modest role for Stallone, who here looked like a “wedding general”. It seemed that it was time to put an end to the series, but right in the middle of the filming process of the sequel, Stallone himself announced that it was too early to relax and the third part was already launched into full development.
Films with celebrities released on paid video platforms are almost always popular, since the nostalgia factor plays a role, as well as the opportunity to watch the novelty for small money without leaving home. A similar formula of success with all the speed is used by Adam Sandler, who consistently releases one film per year, and apparently Escape Plan 2 actually brought tangible profit, since the third film was still brought to the logical end of filming and ended up on screens a year after the sequel. This time, the place of director was taken by John Herzfeld, who can not be attributed as many sins as Stephen S. Miller, and yet for many years in cinema he was not marked by anything significant other than participation in “Tales from the Crypt” and the nomination for “Golden Raspberry”. Although the latter is very difficult to attribute to something significant. In “Escape Plan 3” Herzfeld got under the protection of Stallone himself, with whom they worked on a documentary about the first part of “The Expendables”, and also intersected on the site of a specific drama “Get Me If You Can”, which, despite the excellent cast, showed the complete inconsistency of the script and direction. Of course, Herzfeld is not the most skilled director, and he sometimes needs special support and artistic mentoring in order to shoot something digestible, but in Escape Plan 3 he had no one to rely on, since even Sylvester Stallone seemed to withdraw from everything and with a silent appearance did what was written for him on paper.
The plot of the film again brings us back to the tired team of Ray Breslin (Stallone), which continues to provide services to trusting, or not so much, customers who want to test the chosen stronghold for strength. However, this time the situation is not the same as always, because the case involves a kidnapped girl who is used as a target for blackmailing an influential businessman. Unable to refuse in such a delicate matter, Breslin takes up the work of the plan and connects to the case of long-time comrade Trent De Rosa (Dave Batista), who traditionally “works himself” and with all his appearance tries to show that he is the greatest here, but only until Ray himself enters the business on a full program. And it seems that there was a gap in the case and a loophole was formed in order to perform the task in the best form, as suddenly from nowhere on the horizon appears the offspring of a long-time friend of Breslin, who has not only a firm fist, but also a shaky psyche. Like a piano in the bushes, he penetrates into this franchise and tries to resurrect the intrigue, which, unfortunately, died in the final credits of the first film.
From the Escape Plan it was possible and even necessary to make a successful series of films with high-quality directing and competent script. Moreover, even Stallone could answer for the latter, the benefit of experience in writing he abounds. But the producers decided to save, and probably on the fee of Stallone, from which all the sequels of “Escape Plan” look frankly mediocre action films, in which you could invite the conditional Dolph Lundgren or Jean-Claude Van Damme, so as not to let the main star of the show get bored. Of course, Dave Batista’s journey from the Marvel films to Sylvester Stallone is quite remarkable, but Escape Plan 2 and 3 is catastrophically lacking the special shake-up that Schwarzenegger at least partially chucked in the first film. And when the plot completely penetrates into the prison, it becomes quite sad to watch the development of the story, since the gray, who have never seen the repair of the room, in which faceless extras run, evoke a real depression and the understanding that the time spent watching has become useless. There is not even a minimal margin for intrigue, the key moments of the plot were presented in trailers, and the nuances that arise when viewing, do not fundamentally change anything and make you remember except that the good old fighters who were once an order of magnitude more honest than such speculative crafts as “Escape Plan 3”.
John Herzfeld does exactly what Steven S. Miller does in Escape Plan 2. No fiction, risky improvisation, but only blind adherence to genre patterns and stereotypes. When there is no money for entertainment, then you need to remove the light and call in the frame of the masters of martial arts. And when this is not enough to lengthen the timekeeping, then empty pathos dialogues are involved. So everything is predictable, sad and completely meaningless.
