I won’t go so far as to say this is an incredibly interesting documentary. This is not just a dry documentary, this is a real dramatic work that makes you empathize and rejoice, worry and bewilder.
Everyone whose age ranges from 30 to 45 remembers the legendary Chicago Bulls basketball team and the names inseparably associated with this team, which later became household names.
The picture is a huge number of behind-the-scenes, sometimes exclusive, documentary materials, assembled in a digestible form, with modern comments from the participants of those events.
Yes, the film will tell us about the team, but between the name of the team and the name of the main star you can safely put a sign “equal”. It's not a man, it's a genius, it's a god, it's a devil, it's Michael Jordan. “You don’t have to know sports to know that this person has no equal on earth.” With each episode, you will love him more. The authors tried to be objective - they mentioned both gambling addiction and, far from being the most successful, Michael's attempt to retrain as a baseball player. But I don't think that spoonful of tar can undermine my attitude towards Jordan. By the way, tactfully forgot to mention the numerous scandals associated with the infidelity of Michael to his wife.
However, it is difficult to overestimate Jordan’s contribution to the development and popularization of basketball in particular and the sport in general. Have you ever thought about buying Jordan shoes?
'Does it make sense to think about failing if you haven't already?'
Of course, Michael Jordan is a brand, it's a world name, it's a phenomenon, it's a legend. But it's also human. And this series, I think, is more about the man Michael Jordan. And how the immeasurable ego and conceit makes the legend of an ordinary teenager.
Work, passion and desire. Endless self-sacrifice and demands on others. And talent. There's nothing to argue about. This nugget from a small town and a strong family influenced the world! The name Jordan in the nineties knew any boy, "23" was written with a marker on sneakers, balls and walls. Chicago Bulls T-shirts and jerseys were a dream come true for anyone who played the best ball game on Earth. . .
10 episodes fly unnoticed, although at first it looks a little strange to transfer events from one time to another and back. But in the aggregate it looks very easy and pleasant.
I think this series is for those who are in the subject. I’m not sure if a layman (no offense) knows only Michael and Shaq’s names would be as interested. But there are many legends of the golden era of powerful athletic and high-speed basketball: Pippen, Miller, Bryant, O-Neill, Rodman, Malone ...
Magnificent archival footage, excellent editing and idea. It was a wonderful 10 hours, thank you.
Sports are big money. Surely this series with titled stars was expensive, very expensive. What is it? About basketball team ' Chicago Bulls' and Michael Jordan. Although there is even the main male unit ' Titanic' lit up at the age at which it was megapopular. Even Seinfield is here. Although it always is: stars attract stars, well, just like in space.
The scheme of building series is fascinating. All these transitions from the past to an even earlier past, personal stories of players with their comments from different years, including very recent ones. Immediately shown, probably, some of the most significant episodes of the games of the local national basketball Association from the 90s.
What are the main advantages of this movie, divided into a series? If you did not know anything about basketball, then all the highlights of his real / behind the scenes can be learned from this series. Everything is explained in accessible language. Why? Because everything is explained by the players, coaches, managers and all the related / involved characters, including the main newsmen of those years.
That's interesting. After all, this is still a historical film, the main events of which are developing at a time when the USSR has already outlived itself, fell into decline (no matter what reasons), died and resurrected, divided into different countries. During this period, few people thought about basketball in the territory of the former councils, especially the American one. Nobody was really interested in this, although someone heard something about Michael Jordan and knew, mostly basketball fans, well, or at least ' Space Jam' about which this series is also a little mentioned.
In general, Netflix has recently pleased me with the presence and even an abundance of quality documentaries, including almost fully translated audio tracks. Bravo! And bravissimo!
When Game of Thrones ended last year, many wondered who would take the vacant throne of the most popular series. Since then, there have been many good mini-series, but comparable in scope perhaps did not appear.
In the spring of this year, when almost the whole world was locked in four walls, and cinemas were empty, it was reasonable to ask what will be presented to the world streaming services, what will be talked about in the network.
At the end of April, Netflix is releasing a 10-episode documentary with ESPN called Last Dance (" The Last Dance), and for a week every evening we're going to watch 50 minutes of the story about the 1997/98 season of the Chicago Bulls.
Before the start of the season, it was announced that he would be the last for coach Phil Jackson, with whom the Bulls won 5 NBA championships. The main star of the team, and the whole league, Michael Jordan said that he will not play under another coach. The coach himself, who liked to give seasons poetic titles, suggested the name “The Last Dance”, hinting at the coming generational change. This season, journalists with a camera were allowed into the team’s locker room, training and on the plane. The footage waited for its viewer 20 years, until Michael Jordan allowed it to be used.
In 10 episodes before us flashes the season of one of the most successful teams in the history of basketball, intertwined with the history of the main stars of the team and different aspects of the then life: unjustly offended Scotty Pippen, the banters of Dennis Rodman, Jordan’s contract with Nike, the Olympics in Barcelona and much more.
If the above is not enough to run to download Last dance, then add to this the coolest editing, a lot of archival footage, beautifully built drama that does not let go of your attention from the beginning and the coolest soundtrack, which makes the pulse faster. When was the last time you watched a documentary as a game series? And the basketball documentary? Time to update the data.
I have always had two favorite sports in my life: football and basketball, and maybe basketball and football. Now it is hard to believe, but in the mid-90s it was the program ' Best NBA Games' on the RTR (now TV channel 'Russia') that made basketball in our country no less popular than football and hockey. Who didn’t know Charles Barkley, Carl Melone, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing. I’m not talking about superstars 'Chicago Bulls': Scotty Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and of course, Michael Jordan.
The documentary series The Last Dance (' The Last Dance'), which tells the story of the ascent of the legendary Bulls' to the six NBA championship cups led by His Air Michael Jordan, brought sweet nostalgia for those distant times when only one thing was enough - the ball and the basket. The film is based on unique shootings from places, flights, interviews, training, games, but is perceived as an exciting artistic action that happened quite recently, some 25-30 years ago.
I remember the boys and I putting up a basketball ring in the next yard. Then there were no specialized sports grounds, and we used asphalt parking. Someone took out a pipe, my father brought a shield (an ordinary sheet of chipboard), another took out a ring, a fourth twisted metal 'net ' - with it the game was especially enjoyable. The main disappointment in those days could be either rain or standing under the ring of cars. Oh, how many times we hit them with the ball. Neighboring grandmothers shouted at us that our knocking interferes with their rest. But there was no stopping us. We played desperately, audaciously, passionately, as if in the final of an unattainable NBA.
It may seem that this movie is only about the invincible Mike, and the rest of the characters only shade his professional genius. But in my opinion, with all due respect to MJ’s unconditional talent, the wins 'bulls' are the result of the team’s work, and everyone’s contribution is invaluable. In basketball it is impossible to hide, any player on the court can at the most acute moment have a decisive action. When you watch it, you may get the impression that Michael scores most often. But it's not. Basketball is beautiful because you don’t know the outcome of the game until the last second. Teams exchange hits in the basket regularly, and you, holding your breath, watch in tension and wait for the most important throw.
Be like Mike is one of the advertising slogans of the Jordan era. We all wanted to be as invincible, accurate, elusive and airy as Mike when we were kids. Being the first is a huge daily job. Being the best means asking for more from yourself than you can do today. Being Michael Jordon is not easy, but learning his path is good for anyone who wants to be a leader.
The main task of any documentary about a sport, a team or an individual athlete is to popularize this sport, and not to demonstrate bombastic snobbery with the subtext “not everyone will understand, not many will remember.”
Before watching, I had no idea that the playing teams were divided into Eastern and Western conferences, that the finals were played to four wins, and Dennis Rodman for me was known exclusively for his friendship with the North Korean leader. Despite all this, you as a child enthusiastically, in some places enthusiastically look at the incredible story that was in the recent past. This is another undeniable advantage of The Last Dance: it is much easier to make a film in which the events described occurred long before you, it is more difficult to shoot what was relatively recent.
While MJ is a central figure, the film doesn't fixate on it, it's not even limited to The Bulls. In fact, the film is not only about basketball, rather not so much about basketball as about the ups and downs, about missed opportunities and goals achieved and, of course, about the most vivid success story, based on self-discipline and an unimaginable thirst for victory.

When I was a kid, I hated team sports. I didn't understand, I denied, I was looking forward to finishing every physical education class in school. For some reason, it didn’t get to me – it’s not just the physical parameters, but also the strength of the spirit of the individual players combined with a sense of unity within the team.
The Chicago Bulls of the '90s, despite Jordan's cult of flying, were just such a team - with the prevailing understanding inside and the importance of all positions on the pitch. Therefore, here they acquaint not only with their last championship team, but comprehensively analyze the history of the club since the arrival of Michael, who began the path of the Bulls to the championship.
Calling the series a personal 10-hour praising of MJ does not work. A lot of Pippen and Rodman, without whom Michael was clearly starting to play worse or at the limit, especially at the end of his career. Nowhere without the amazing hippie coach Phil Jackson, who showed that competent interaction of players (and not playing around one favorite) can bring maximum results. And, of course, the managers of the club, in particular manager Jerry Krause, who assembled the first squad since the early 60s, won three NBA championships in a row.
Yeah, they didn't say much. It seems that at Jordan’s request, a lot of scenes were cut, after which Pippen became very angry with him. But does this make the series bad? It's a story about people. A story that clearly shows the same unity in the team and the inner strength of players that I did not understand as a child. It's for everyone.
Before watching this documentary series, I didn’t watch basketball and wasn’t interested in it, but I decided to watch the series because many people recommended it. I have no regrets at all.
The series is shot in a very interesting way, where we have the opportunity to do time travel, it is not only the story of the 1997/1998 season, when the team was already a 5-time champion, there are many retrospectives mainly from the last decade from the moment of the main events, when each of the main players of that great team, began their professional path in this game. Of course, most of the time is devoted to Michael and it is not strange, he is a person who has gone beyond this discipline, he is undoubtedly the best player of this team the whole series illustrates how Jordan became a champion, it can be perceived both literally and figuratively, because the spirit of the champion of this man was always, but with the NBA at first it was not so simple, because at that time in the Eastern Conference the best were the Pistons. Even then, Michael could motivate himself. You didn't give him a hand? He will take it as a personal offense and will only think how to beat you on the field, he generally wants to win everything, in basketball, golf, cards, this is his passion, everywhere to be the first.
We were also shown the stories of Scotty Pippen and Denis Rodman, who also played an important role in this team. Jordan is great, but in team sports you can win a match, a series of matches, maybe a championship alone against teams that are stronger than you, but 6, alone would be an impossible mission and it is very nice that these guys were remembered. After all, playing at the side of a strong player is also not an easy task, you need to accept that you are number 2 and serve him balls, from a psychological point of view, not everyone can do it. A command is a mechanism in which everyone must perform their functions when needed. Chicago did this not least because of Phil Jackson. An amazing coach not only in terms of tactics, but primarily in terms of psychology (the example of Rodman, where he disappeared, others would not let him out after that, and Phil let him play after that, and Rodman played a great match).
But there are moments that are alarming. In one interview, Grant, who starred in the series, says that many things were cut and that it was done on Michael’s instructions. Tony Kukoch is also not completely happy with the final version, and Pippen did not talk to Jordan at all after that. When watching the series, the moments that you think about yourself slip through, somehow sometimes a lot of ass, because almost nothing is said about the thrash from Mike and there are enough black pages in his biography, I doubt that the quality of the series from the coverage of this would lose, but there is as is, the series is no less beautiful from this. To finish this topic, I will say that Jerry Krause, although he may not have been a perfect person, knew his business and somehow unpleasant, that he was mainly covered in a bad light.
In summary, the series will be a great acquaintance for you with basketball, I have already fallen in love with this game and am beginning to follow this sport. The quality, content, approach to shooting are chosen almost perfectly, which does not allow the viewer to lose interest in the series.

The last dance that will always remain in our hearts.
This series tells us about the great part of American basketball and the story of the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan. It shows everything that the legend and his team had to go through to reach the top and enter the history of world basketball forever. The path to success is not easy, you have to sacrifice a good attitude to colleagues and friends for the sake of success. To become the best, you need to give everything one hundred percent always, you need to be a leader, you need to take responsibility and take risks.
' The Last Dance' very motivating to be the best at what you do, and it's expensive. There are not so many such, well-made series and films that make you think about the fact that a person is capable of more and can achieve a goal, giving everything to your favorite business.
The journalists did a great job in creating this creation, showing us exclusive moments from the life of the team and Michael, which were not previously anywhere, for which they are grateful. More than 20 years have passed, and it was done as if it was yesterday, very worthy.
Watching such documentary series, you understand one thing: how wonderful it is to be a part of this story and see live such matches. Unfortunately, the vast majority of us did not have that opportunity. Thanks to NETFLIX and ESPN, we briefly touched on this great American success story of the strongest team 'Chicago Bulls' This team of the 90s instilled a love of basketball in a huge number of people around the world, for which we are boundlessly grateful. With the departure of the players of the team took a whole era.
To sum up, we can only say one thing: This is a masterpiece.

P.S. This last dance will never be repeated, as there is only one Air Jordan in the world.
He goes back to winning and, damn it, he wins again.
The most important documentary about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls is from ESPN and Netflix.
It's worth seeing everyone!
It’s not just great players and wins!
The film is more interesting than many blockbusters!
Impressive recordings of student games involving Jordan, Pippen and others, but also the structure of the narrative. The story moves between the final season of the Bulls, losing to the Bulls in the 1980s, and the period when the team managed to become champions three times in a row.
Switching between themes and eras works perfectly in The Last Dance, so the series manages to keep a high tempo throughout all 10 episodes.
It's just a great documentary - it's an action movie.
"The Last Dance" is another Jordanian scrum, only now it's a fight for history. The 57-year-old billionaire, the first billionaire of athletes, by the way, that is, he won here, who has long proved everything to everyone, sits in a large white hall of an expensive villa and tells us that in fact he has not proved everything and not everyone.
If your actions lead to results that inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and achieve more, then you are a great leader!
Another reinforced concrete documentary hit Netflix this spring, which according to ratings and the level of audience resonance to shreds ripped the misadventures of crazy Joe Exotic and his striped pussy.
For the average Russian viewer, the American basketball passions of the 90s, the cult of Michael Jordan’s personality and the sports regalia of his Chicago Bulls teammates are the last thing that may interest us in our difficult pandemic times. But “The Last Dance” came out in the best possible way, in fact being incredibly life-affirming, inspiring, fiery and, most importantly, universal documentary statement about the greatness of the human spirit and some beastly will to win, capable, sometimes, to make the whole world revolve around you. Undoubtedly, the best TV cure for coronavirus spider.
This documentary epic has an amazing property - even if you are deeply indifferent to basketball and in the intricacies of the game with a foot, then, believe me, after watching the first episode, you will not be pulled by the ears from the screen. American filmmakers were best at building insanely dynamic and adrenaline narratives from voluminous archival arrays. And if you have such a unique and rich material, then the spectacle will be exciting for any virtuoso action, action thriller and plastic biopic.
The creators resort to a nonlinear way of storytelling, constantly making temporary jumps and masterfully parallels the last game season of Jordan and the team with the past merits of “His Air”. The entire basketball season of 97/98 and the behind-the-scenes life of the Chicago Bulls were carefully recorded by the film crew, who relentlessly followed Jordan and Co. However, for 18 years, the footage was in the archive: Michael himself was against the release of which, fearing that he would appear before the audience and fans in a not very positive way. Indeed, MD can hardly be called white and fluffy - at times he resorted to rather rude pressure on his team members and entered into an open confrontation with the leadership. But I have to give you credit-- Michael, above all, was too hard on himself, which sometimes resulted in such a devilish game on the court that instantly overshadowed any negativity. "Dance" so fiercely and juicily paints this success story that you want to rush to the basketball court and to bloody calluses to hone the skill of possession of the ball.
Yes, “PT” is a real ode to the talent of MD, but the authors do not forget to talk about other “bulls”, whose contribution to the unique success of the team is difficult to overestimate. And no matter how great and powerful you may be, can you do without a friendly shoulder and team support? Impeccable game synergy, which went skating through competitors and made the whole world almost overnight to love American basketball. Yes, but all the facts are on the face.
I don’t know of any sport (at least a team sport) that has been the unconditional #1 for all time. Except basketball. Basketball has its own word, God forbid. And his name is Michael Jordan. First His Air and then all the others. And the series ' The Last Dance' just about that. On the greatness of Michael and the Chicago Bulls of the 90s.
Who, apart from basketball fans, would be interested in this series? That’s exactly what its beauty is. The story is presented with a fair amount of drama and so interesting that it looks ' The Last Dance' in one breath, which is not expected from a documentary series. So I think it will appeal even to people who are far from basketball.
But for those who love this wonderful game, ' The Last Dance' is just a gift! Both for those who have found those golden times and for those who have not. For the former, this is a great opportunity to re-enter that unforgettable atmosphere, and for the latter (like me), the series exhaustively answers the question of why Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time, and the Bulls of the 90s is one of the best franchises in the history of the NBA.
A great documentary series about Michael Jordan and the brightest period in the history of the Chicago Bulls team, which Jordan brought to an unattainable space orbit in the 90s and made one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA in just 8 years.
Unique documentary footage from behind the scenes of the team, which for a year in the season 97/98 was collected by the film crew, and then for some reason more than 20 years were not made public, seasoned interviews with the main participants in the life of Jordan and the team and their main opponents, immerse in the events completely. Nonlinear storytelling can initially confuse the unsophisticated viewer, but in the end, the drama in each series is built on this. The series looks not like a video report on the career and results of matches, but as a full-fledged canvas with all sorts of elements of feature film.
Anyway, I'm absolutely thrilled! Especially since I have personally witnessed Michael Jordan’s brilliant career. NBA games in my childhood were shown on television, and I myself in school was engaged in basketball, and, of course, the best basketball player of all time could not leave his mark not only in the memory, but also in the manner of playing most boys. Everyone tried to imitate his movements, throws or protruding tongue during a quick break to the ring.
When the first consoles came out, one of the first games I bought was the NBA. My friends and I would gather at my house when my parents worked the night shift, and we would fight all night, of course for Chicago, trying to play the entire championship (82 games). 39; The last dance not only plunged me into my childhood and made me nostalgic, but also told many hidden details of Jordan’s life, showed the versatility of his personality and even more confirmed in the opinion that MJ23 is a little more than just a person, including outside the basketball court.
I recommend this series to everyone without exception, even if you are far from sports or do not understand anything about basketball. “The Last Dance” will definitely fascinate you and make you dance!
An exciting sports documentary that will dip in those days when the name Michael Jordan stood in the same associative line with the word “America”. Interesting viewing is provided not only for those who are interested in sports and, in particular, basketball, because the history of the championships of the Chicago Bulls team (it is about this series) is closely connected with the era of the 90s, with its eschatological aspirations and, simply, the chic of madness. Madonna will flash here, Carmen Electra will talk about hanging out with Dennis Rodman (Jordan’s scandalous teammate), the whole behind-the-scenes life of athletes will appear in the palm of your hand, not to mention the development of constant intrigue in the sports and personal life of the 23rd number. There is no need to be bored.
Sports in the United States are more than sports. It's a lucrative industry, an insidious business, an integral part of ideology, a religion, if you will. And Jordan for a generation, if not God, then a living icon, of course.
Perhaps someone will be confused by the nonlinearity of the narrative and a huge number of facts and faces from the world of basketball, but it is worth trying: Michael Jordan truly knows how to hypnotize with his red eyes, tune in to achievements and inspire faith in victory.
' The last dance' already one name suggests a thought, and a little not pathetic, is it?
I came across the series is not accidental, moreover, specially subscribed to Netflix to enjoy in excellent quality. Many cable channels I respect sang praises to the series, long before the premiere. That was alarming. As it were, word of mouth worked at full speed: in the series
It was a cool presentation and an audience formed long before it came out. I understand basketball fans: an action of this level, not a frequent guest for the big screen, and I, as a connoisseur of the history of sports, could not pass by.
The flow is smooth, the plot is nonlinear, the footage is really interesting and unique. . . But: I am not afraid of this word licking MD23. Well, straight to the brilliance. Of course, the authors point to the influence of Pippen and Rodmann, but that doesn’t happen without Jordan in the frame. And, as it happens, not without his approval. ' Well, yeah, I was good at playing sr Scotty' ' Well, Dennis was a tough defender' No one doubts that Jordan is a sports icon, the greatest player of all time, but everything has its limits.
Michael Mann slowly and very precisely built the image of Ali in the biographical drama of the same name, when the legendary persona opens only at the end of the narrative: with all the minuses and pros, you do not imbue with magnitude immediately and it is beautiful. In 'Last Dance' Michael Jordan was born a genius and remained an absolute role model throughout his career.
Second, it's prestige itself. I've been interested in NBA history for a long time. As the authors do not try to heat up the plot passions and show the development ''a lot of troubles'' that haunt the team during this significant season. . . But the feeling that the aftertaste will not come does not leave.
I don't want to seem stuffy and picky. That's not true. But the series lets go with the same ease with which it attracted. Very quickly, in the 4-5 series. A big plus, of course, is the format: documentary sports biography, this is great, this is the future. And how great Michael in his youth ... Priceless shots and game cuts, only for this you need to watch Last Dance.
But I'm for action. I would like to see the chronicles of incredible championships: Pistons 88/89, Leicester 15/16; amazing biographies: Mario Lemieux, Jackie Robinson, Eric Weyenmeer and much, everything.
The history of the Chicago Bulls is the story of the greatest team in history with brilliant star players. But no greater than the Celtics of the 60s, or the Lakers of the 00s. And soon this legend will turn into history, and we will enjoy new chronicles from Netflix, Amazon, Air Force. About "GSV 15-19" and "Real Madrid 16-18" "Montreal 71-79" and "Barcelona 09-11".We will watch stunning biographies: LeBron and Kobe, Cristiano and Lionel, Pacquiao and Jones. So for us, this is not the last dance.
P.S. Only my favorite Houston was able in the mid-90s to stop this car called Chicago Bulls. The 90s...what a wonderful time.
The documentary "The Last Dance" became a television hit of the quarantine era associated with the all-known pandemic. I’m a big basketball fan, and I’ve been following every season in the NBA since the early 2000s, so I haven’t seen the Jordan and Chicago Bulls era. But of course, like many people know this legend, the main legend in basketball is about the god-like Michael Jordan, who rose so high that his name became a household name like Michael Schumacher or Bruce Lee. When one of your names means all the best, iconic and defining in the craft for which you are famous. The highest level in the world of titles and regalia. In any sport there is a king - Gretzky, Ali, Schumacher, Jordan, if you want Bolt (of the last celestials). So what did we see in The Last Dance? It's the history of the dynasty. Chicago Bulls in the '90s.
The film was based on "exclusive" documentary filming of the last season in which the Bulls became champions. And this is perhaps the main problem - the material is very weak, we will not see anything special, we are promised exclusive footage that will reveal us the life of the team from the inside. But you can’t feel like you’re in the dressing room, because a reporter is a reporter and he’s not allowed anywhere. We won't be shown any conflicts on emotions after the game or during the game. We will be told about known conflicts, but we will not see anything but the words spoken to the press. So it turns out that we were promised to be held backstage, but in fact they put us in the hall, albeit in the stalls. We see the whole film through the eyes of a reporter and a fan. Footage of the documentary chronicles is replaced by interviews with key figures of the Chicago Bulls organization and each tells his point of view. The problem is that a good interview will always have a more or less provocative element, otherwise the interviewee will not tell you anything interesting, will not show himself as a person. These people are professional superstars, they always have a version for the press, a politically correct version for the press, a self-chanting version for the press, in general, words for which you can hide, they have just a habit. Just a failed part of the film, absolutely toothless interviews, not revealing the identity of the word at all, as a result, Jordan looks like a crafty person who constantly lies to himself and constantly demonstrates a defensive reaction, Pippen does not want to participate in this at all, and the pioneer of hype Dennis Rodman did not allow himself a single sharp word.
The translation deserves a separate censure, the official I emphasize this, it is simply not a professional translation, it should have been translated by a person who understands the terminology and basketball slang. You can not translate specific expressions, for example, from medicine or psychology just with a dictionary, you risk not catching the essence by translating literally.
As a viewer who knows about the events, but has never seen them, the sports component is not shown, the history of achievements is shown weakly and does not feel like a sporting feat. The best quality of an athlete is character, so it is so, but the character in those days was in all teams in the league, which she is famous until now, thanks to which Jordan himself was so elevated among the others in the history of basketball, but in the series for some reason it turns out that he was better than the rest because he was “characteristic”. Is that it? According to the show, yes.
I cannot speak on behalf of the viewer who does not know about the events, but I assume that this is a very uneasy spectacle, you will learn this legend, look at the nostalgic elderly players and that is all.
Undoubtedly, for those who caught the events shown in the film, the feeling of nostalgia will be decisive when watching, this film is definitely for them and for no one else.
"The Last Dance" is neither fish nor meat (hello to the translators), as a sports documentary there are too few facts. The whole movie just exploits the name of Michael Jordan, said great means great, didn't you hear about Jordan? Everyone's heard of him. Where are the facts? Where are the statistics? Where is this documentary?
The series, shot for a narrow audience of nostalgic, inflated from views that would not have been if not for quarantine and is presented as an elite spectacle, in fact has no special value to a wide audience.
It's incredibly interesting to watch. But why? Speaking of my personal views, be it a movie about the greatest golfer. Would that impress me? Naturally, with quality performance. But not like this. Why? If you take fake events. In the same American vandal, we are mocumentarily shown how to hold the viewer's attention for several hours - on the question of drawn members. The subject may not matter if it is told with a soul. But apart from the drawn members (such a vivid problem), the real story, can it compare with such intensity? Not often, but when it comes to Michael Jordan, definitely.
Appearing in the fifth series, Jerry Seinfeld, a piece straight from his series answers the question of how the Chicago Bulls and Seinfeld are related - that they are a quality sample of the 90s; and what he personally intends to do with the 90s: leaving. It was, of course, a joke, but at the same time it is true that each individual success or the whole state sooner or later has to go into the shadows. I found Jordan and Seinfeld only in my years of life. Even if Seinfeld was popular outside of America, although he inspired a lot of TV shows that are popular outside of it, he still did not reach the top of Jordan, like many. Michael Jordan has been a celebrity to me since childhood because of the influence of my dad, who was as amateur basketball player as I was a footballer many years ago.
And I'm going to talk about my personal experience again, because you need it, don't you? It doesn’t matter if you like Formula 1, football or tennis, etc., the series looks decently higher, in my many biased view, among all.
In 2008, I stayed up at night watching TV, mostly porn and cartoons, but closer to dawn I got on a sports channel with the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic. A regular championship game. Just seemingly. I remember two players that day. The first is Howard of Magic, the second LeBron, who surpassed his opponent by a head. I put his name in a notebook so I wouldn't forget. As if it was necessary. Yes, he had played 5 years in the NBA by then, but I felt like a scout, or at least a TV viewer, watching MJ at 84 when he became Rookie of the Year. I felt the same feeling when watching this series, and other viewers will feel it. You can know the history of basketball and the NBA, or not know at all, or be a master – a true historian: the series will elevate you to the rank of viewers from the front rows of Madison Square Garden and other venues where Michael and the Bulls of the 90s played. Yes, in this story, someone who bought a ticket to the back row in the far nineties to see Jordan and died a few days later - did not see what you saw: viewers of this masterfully crafted series. He saw MJ23 live, from afar, but may not have realized the scale you saw.
A few words about the comparison between Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali. The Basketball King and the Boxing King. And not in some unimaginable battle à la Rocky Balboa, but on the comparison of personality in the meaning of the African-American population. As Ali vehemently expressed his political position, Jordan merely said that he was not an activist but a basketball player. If you accept MJ, you would call other fools stupid in the press.
And it's true, he's just a basketball player. And in this it is not only possible, but also necessary to understand. Jordan was a living legend at the time, and his indifference to any Senate election is understandable. After all, everything he lived was just playing on the basketball field. And this political game did not attract him.
It’s not just about MJ, he was a leader, so there’s more to it. But viewers will learn about many side events. I didn't mention them - so I just stuck to the '90s fashion, and I went to see not the Bulls game, but the magic of Michael Jordan's ball. But that doesn’t mean others aren’t worthy of public praise. Definitely worthy. The series is for everyone, honestly for everyone. But for basketball and MJ fans first and foremost.
I'm writing this review while none of it has been published on film search. Is that a mistake? No, I don't think so, I'm sure a bunch of basketball fans and others left their reviews. They just haven't been approved yet, but why would I want to send this review with minimal edits? To be the first like Michael Jordan. The only difference is that he succeeded and I... ?
