The production is such that absolutely everything in this story happens suddenly and accidentally. Predicting the ending of the film is not difficult, but the way to it lies through a heap of illogical and unpredictable events, some of which occur simply and do not affect anything, except trying to play on the optic nerves. Directing is simply insane, watching the film is very difficult.
Many actions of different characters are absolutely incredible, inadequate, inexplicable, all this speaks of the infirmity of the plot and production, because due to this, the story tries to keep the viewer in suspense virtually from scratch, but each such scene turns what is happening into a cheap thrash. To give just one example: when the police first try to help the mother through wiretaps, then suddenly the mother becomes a persecuted criminal for the police, she is staged a crazy and very dangerous race, caught and handcuffed (for one moment, because in the next scene the mother is not pursued, there are no handcuffs). After some time, the mother declares that everything is fine and the girl is safe, and this is enough for the police to completely stop surveillance, i.e. without even checking these words, but if a child is reported missing, the mother automatically becomes one of the suspects, and her words must be checked. But not in this stupid movie. . .
From the point of view of “image and morality”, the main character does not cause sympathy, because in a similar situation she easily crosses over similar problems of fellow citizens, pursuing personal goals and entering into a deliberate deal with conscience. I hate to look at her in these moments. At the same time, her activity as a lawyer systematically goes beyond the limits of the law or simple common sense, there are obvious violations in operational-search activities that the lawyer is not entitled to conduct in this format. (The same applies to the activities of other law enforcement agencies, and as a result, the detective component is yawning black holes of universal arbitrariness and impunity.) It is impossible to explain everything by maternal instinct, because this is her constant style of work.
In the face of GG is a typical example of a successful single mother: even during an acute crisis, she does not turn to the father of the child or other relatives to get any support. The father of the child does not exist. As ridiculous as it may sound, but the film boldly hints: life “strong and independent” is very good and interesting.
The character of the investigator-friend is striking in its ill-conceivedness: he is allegedly constantly pursued by the internal investigation service (it is unclear why), but he openly wanders around the city, talks on his mobile phone, meets with different people and interacts with other police officers. Such a slippery character, with the help of which many huge plot holes are written off, because he organizes various meetings, gets the necessary documents, breaks into the right rooms, with all the signs and can do any business. That is, this is an eternal trump card in the sleeve of the main character for all occasions. A sign of the quality of plot impotence.
The cameraman is probably an alcoholic with experience, because the camera is constantly moving from side to side. Conventionally, this can be considered acceptable for dynamic scenes, but not for static ones, and here the whole video series is frantically flashing new angles and constant shaking. Plus, abuse of close-ups, up to the time on the skin of the face. In addition, the operator tries to be super-original, and in some scenes almost every word is accompanied by a special video sequence. A vivid example of this is an episode of a meeting with a pathologist. The whole picture is made in the clip style of shooting and editing, it is very difficult to look at it for two hours.
Dialogues are stupid, they never go beyond cheap cinematic pathos, they are impossible to believe. At the end, during the court session, there is a legal gallimaty designed for an unprepared viewer. I can't think of any worse.
The ending is idiotic, even the acting does not stretch. The film does not create a sense of integrity, logic and harmony, some nuances deliberately left undisclosed, but they do not make intrigue, but only cry out about helplessness and inability to link everything into a single understandable story. There is no clear understanding of what happened and who is to blame. After watching, complete confusion: what is it? “Nothing is clear, but very interesting” – this is not the case.
The so-called “seven days” are smeared on the timing of slurred porridge, and as a result, even the reference to the number “seven” could not be designated.
Conclusion. Very bad thriller, very bad detective, very bad drama. (Even the drama of the missing daughter, so obvious and understandable, could not be elevated to the level of natural human sympathy.) It's bad. I don't recommend watching.
Crazy movie. Very curious, action thriller. To be honest, I didn’t expect to like him so much. The movie turned out powerful, with a twisted story and constant surprises. The director’s work is a good script is very rich, and the actors’ play is pleasing to the eye, so prepare for an explosive, dramatic story that will take you to an incredible something.
We see Yoo Ji-yeon. She is a single mother and a very talented lawyer who always takes on difficult cases. The woman is a master of her craft, and due to success at work, the heroine gets into a difficult situation. Her daughter kidnaps an unknown person and demands that she return the girl alive only if Yoo Ji-yong undertakes to defend in court one killer sentenced to death.
The thriller's dynamic is powerful. The story looked in great tension, for the main character is very worried. This is the story of a mother who will do anything and everything to save her daughter. Cinema is bribing with what is filmed qualitatively and coolly. The thriller is not second-rate, it is really good, it tickles the viewer's nerves well.
Kim Yun-jin remembered me for the rest of my life from the TV series “Lost”. She is a pleasant and talented actress, and in that series she opened up well. It was always good to see her in new projects. In this thriller on her game held a lot. The actress played great, so much emotion, so much emotion. She did the part. In general, her character is a very strong and inspiring character.
What could be worse when your child is kidnapped? This story strikes at the heart. We see how desperate the main character is, but what inner strength she has. This story about the fact that a mother for the sake of her child is ready for anything, will literally move mountains.
Seven Days is a 2007 South Korean crime thriller. This, by the way, is the most successful film directed by Won Shin-yeon. I liked this picture and I said yes. Thank you and enjoy watching!
Strictly speaking, East Asian cinema appears to us as Chinese kung fu action films and Japanese horror films, but South Korean is not the most frequent guest on our screen. And sometimes in vain, because the South Koreans know what to please the foreign audience, for example, they have learned to shoot quite good psychological thrillers, which with some reservations can compete with the American mainstream. Such an example can serve as the film “Seven Days” (in the original “Sebeun deijeu”) from the director Won Shin-yeon, based on the story from Zhu-ku Yun and with the star of the series “Lost” actress Kim Yun-jin in the title role.
So, what awaits us in the plot of the picture? Kim Yun-jin plays the role of a successful lawyer Yoo Ji-yeon, who not only famously deals with cases in court, but also with all her maternal love and tenderness alone raises her young daughter. After another successful trial, Yoo Ji-yong is kidnapped by someone. Out of desperation, she races along the highway, following the directions of the kidnapper, but soon learns that she is required to represent in court a rather vile type who is accused of a very brutal murder, and all the evidence directly points to this man. Poor Yoo Ji-yeon has nowhere to go, and she agrees to lead a losing case in advance. No one really wants to help a single mother, she herself begins her own investigation and soon begin to open completely incomprehensible facts.
In general, the attentive viewer is waiting for an exciting journey with the investigation of a mysterious murder led by a courageous woman. So why did he say the first thing he did was to listen to him? The fact is that due to our mentality, we hardly recognize the faces of East Asian appearance, we even confuse a woman with a man is not shameful, so I would even advise you to arm yourself with a notebook and a pen in order to write down the names of each of the characters, even the one who in “Seven Days” will only have a couple of lines, and attribute any more or less important details, only in this case, in my opinion, will be able to put together a full picture of what is happening in the film. The fact is that almost every character here has its own meaning and ultimately plays an important role in when the denouement comes. So you can also play detective, trying to solve the causes of the crime in advance and who is behind it. But, believe me, it will be very difficult to do this, so we pay tribute to the creators of the script, who made it famously confusing and did not fork out on insignificant secondary personalities.
Now, as far as acting is concerned. Of course, everyone should like Kim Yong-jin. She turned out to be a whole image of a woman driven to despair and professional-ethical conflict, but in the meantime, no one will see her exhausted here - the abduction of her daughter puts the heroine Kim Yun-jin in an extremely difficult situation from which she must find a way out. Will she make it? You only know when you look at the movie Seven Days. In the future, I would not like to paint each of the characters, since in this case it may well slip invisible at first, but significant in the end spoiler. One thing I can say is that the only obvious mistake is to reproach the filmmakers with the fact that each image strongly corresponds to its behavioral style in appearance and even the manner of talking. That is, if you see a sweet metrosexual, you can be sure - he is too revealing and will behave like this, and I would like a greater mystery in the characters. Although this sin is still closed by the complexity of the investigation and a completely unexpected final result.
I would like to make it clear that although Seven Days is a product of exotic and rare South Korean cinema, it deserves to be seen by more people, especially those who love psychological thrillers and unexpected detective stories. And therefore, in my humble opinion, the painting “Seven Days” can be willingly put:
8 out of 10
The thriller Shin-yun Won, well staged and played out as notes, pleased primarily with a carefully thought-out scenario. The plot as such is not very original, but in "Seven Days" trivial, at first glance, the story will not let you off the screen all two hours thanks to the careful attention of the authors to details.
Very much in the picture shows the complexity and severity of the choice, when no matter what decision you make, someone will remain innocently injured. And for all the apparent choice for the lawyer Yoo Ji-yeon – she must save her daughter – the question is not whether the price is too high and whether even her lofty purpose justifies the means to which she is forced to go? In addition to professional ethics and reputation – whether the lawyer is trying to protect the real killer – there is also a human aspect associated with it: the mother of one of the victims of the criminal, whom the lawyer must acquit and save from prison, can hardly understand why he should walk free without being responsible for the death of a loved one. Yu Ji-yeon will be asked all 7 days in which the fate of both her daughter and, in fact, her own should be decided. All this drama, pain and contradictory feelings of his heroine perfectly conveys on the screen. Yoo Ji-yeon empathizes from the first minutes - such a choice without a choice in life will not wish anyone.
Successfully spelled out in the picture and the detective. The intrigue twisted in two directions: who is the kidnapper of the girl and whether Jung Chul-jin is guilty of the murder attributed to him, will not let the viewer get bored with completely unexpected turns in history. Only all laid out in the shelves, came to a seemingly unambiguous conclusion, found the key to the solution – a new detail, a new circumstance, a new evidence emerges. And a seemingly flawlessly built theory collapses in the blink of an eye, everything has to start again, and in circumstances of complete time. The techniques are also clearly not new, but Shin-young Won has so skillfully arranged and scattered throughout the action and pops up at such unexpected moments that the plot begins to seem completely new and untouched - a virgin land in which no director has yet walked the plow. As a result, both the characters and the viewer will not receive an answer to at least one important question until the very end, but the final will answer it only partially, leaving something to think up to the viewer. Definitely, the director should often work in a duet with the screenwriter Zhu Ku-Yun - in "Seven Days" you will not stick to them in anything.
In particular, this applies to the selection of actors. In addition to Kim Yoon Jin, several other good acting works should be noted in the film. First of all, it is brutal, sharp, explosive, but in the depths of his soul faithful and loyal, ready she is a lot for the sake of relatives and friends of the policeman in the performance of Pak Hee-sung, as well as Mu-sung Choi, playing the same killer? / not the killer? Jung Chul-jin. In addition, there is also Yang Jin Wu, who inimitably portrayed a psychopathic drug addict. Finally, it is impossible not to say about Kim Mi-Suk, who perfectly played the mother of the murdered girl.
I liked the music that created a good emotional background Joon-sung Kim.
As a result: a stylish criminal thriller, which is a pity to waste time.

Yoo Ji-yeon is a successful lawyer and single mother. One day, her daughter is kidnapped and an unknown person reports that she has kidnapped her daughter. And puts Ji-young in front of perhaps the most difficult choice of her life. To see her daughter alive again, the main character must be represented in an appeals court, sentenced to death, the rapist and murderer Chung Chul-jin, who, according to the mysterious kidnapper, was convicted unfairly.
In the meantime, Yoo Ji-yong, trying to justify her actions, wonders whether her new client is really guilty or whether the kidnapper was right and all the accusations are false, and behind her new case lies more than a banal error of the judicial system. The viewer will have to answer an equally interesting question, which is stronger, the principles and sense of justice of the lawyer or the maternal instinct. And whether to influence the decision of Ji-yeon meeting with Han Sook-hee, the mother of the girl in the murder of which her client is accused.
I learned about this film by accident and did not regret the time spent. The film is amazingly good is both a drama and a detective story with a well-twisted plot, it’s all about love, the mother’s real and duty to people. What else is interesting about this movie, you ask me? I'll just say watch and enjoy the plot and the actors, most notably actor Park Hee-sung, his cop hero is rude and cruel, but very devoted and resourceful, when it comes to a little girl, then he transforms, he's such a bright character that I liked in the first place. Secondly, the actress Kim Yoon Jin, familiar from the TV series Lost, coped well with her role, a lawyer who did not lose a single case and a single mother who selflessly loves her daughter, striving to achieve the truth by all means.
The film is worth and the brightness of the picture, colors, camera work, and directing, everything is at its best. It also shows a variety of areas in Korea, not only business centers, but also nature and local clubs, and even a psychiatric hospital.
The film as a thriller definitely pleased me and hooked, now I know for sure that in Asia, not only good horror movies, but also psychological thrillers. The end was just amazing, I even cried.
Thriller as a genre has not pleased me for a long time. But this picture led to believe that this genre, as they say, there is still gunpowder in the powder. In my opinion, the film is interesting primarily by showing two images of mothers: a mother trying to save her child and a mother avenging her child. What’s more, they are two completely different characters. Movies in which a single mother kidnaps a child, made a lot. In such paintings, the heroines act simultaneously as a savior and avenger. But it's different here.
Kim Yoon Jin, of course, tried to be famous. Her Yu Ji Yong is not a superhero. She is weak not only physically, but also morally. Panic and fear for the life of the daughter do their job and prevent her from acting adequately.
It is not known what would have ended if it had not been for the help of her best friend - a police officer in the brilliant performance of Park Hee-sung. Pak Hee-sung tries to show the versatility of his talent, trying on diverse images, but still the roles of ruthless people of action are given to him incomparably. The policeman he plays is at first glance a rude and cruel man, but when it comes to saving a best friend's child, he becomes softer.
Kim Mi-Suk in the image of a mother who lost her daughter is delightful. She is not hysterical, she does not set scenes, but the presence of her inner pain is beyond doubt. Not every actor is able to express his inner feelings through one look.
"Seven Days" is not just a thriller. It is also a heartwarming drama about what a mother is capable of to protect her child.

Six years ago, the movie looked even better. Definitely above average thriller with distracting maneuvers, a nervous mother, gang and revenge. The final feint is beyond praise. Of those South Korean films that are somewhat simplified visually and technically (but not plot) form probably should be recommended for familiarization with the direction. Good work also with Kim Yun Jin in the title role, the actress is not outstanding, but most famous thanks to the international series.
Well, at all for connoisseurs, the film will not be a revelation. It is enough to compare the iconic films of the great trilogy of revenge you know who with those shots that are devoted to the mother-daughter run or the deliberate puffs of the daughter’s resuscitation after release (some people have interesting doubts about the possibility of a different outcome) to understand that some visual fussiness of the creators of “7 Days” with semi-aggressive editing is an artistic compromise that does not compare with the sad grandeur of the gloomy masterpieces of the genre of South Korean masters. "7 Days" is a watchable film with mystery and denouement, but it is almost devoid of second bottom, and the exploitation of maternal anxiety is not a revelation in itself.
A stunning film full of action and a tense atmosphere with a twisted plot!
It would seem that so many films were shot on the topic of kidnapping a child for ransom that it is almost impossible to surprise in this genre. But in this thriller, ransom is not money, but something else. The woman who had her child kidnapped, the best lawyer in town, not a single loss in the cases she's been running. The man who kidnapped her 8-year-old daughter demands that she do everything to ensure that the brutal killer and rapist are acquitted in the upcoming trial in 3 days, because he is allegedly innocent and accused of atrocities unfairly. Otherwise, the girl will die. What's left for the mother? Time is running out! Is the suspect really innocent and how do we find evidence in three days when the public is confident that Jung Chol will be sentenced to death because all the evidence points against him?
Kim Yun Jin (this is the performer of the main heroine - a lawyer, by the way, she also plays in the movie Heartbeat, and of course she is known for the series "Lost") is undoubtedly a very talented actress. You believe every gesture, every look. She is so imbued with the role that there is no room for falsehood in her game. Great actress!
The film is full of events, action. The plot is very interesting. In places, the viewer is waiting for very unexpected turns. Technically, too, all at a fairly high level, the truth is filmed all sharply, frames quickly replace each other, but this style is very suitable for this picture.
As for the moral side of the film, everything is ambiguous. Every character can be understood. Understand, but never forgive! Revenge at the cost of an innocent child is low, immoral and unworthy!
In general, the film caused a storm of emotions in me! So I can't put it below .

I'm delighted... No, I'm ecstatic... I can’t even say how impressed I am by this film. Well, I collect my brain from this film and try to connect what I saw into a holistic picture. Let's get started...
What I did not expect was that having decided to watch a good thriller, preferably shot in this millennium and not finding it either in the American or European box office, my eyes suddenly found what I wanted in Asian cinema. To be honest, the main problem for me when watching such films is to distinguish actors from each other (they even have almost the same names) and understand the emotions that they carefully portray. To my shame (let them throw me tomatoes), my experience of watching Asian movies was reduced to comedies by Jackie Chan and amazing paintings by Wong Kar Wai. To the cinematic delights of South Korea, I was skeptical - and in vain. It is there that I now see the salvation of this genre (and not only a thriller, but horror films and beautiful melodramas). From now on, I immersed myself in the study of Korean films with pleasure and began my exciting journey with this, I will not be afraid of the word, a masterpiece.
Why a masterpiece? Yes, because such a tense, relevant, dark, soul-wrenching film I have not seen for a long time. The plot is quite standard - in different variations we have seen it in films like "Juror" and so on. A single mother, a lawyer who has not lost a single case, once again pulls a hundred-hundredth criminal out of a cruel judicial meat grinder and saves from hanging, after which she calmly rests with her beloved only daughter and even for the sake of her daughter wins in the school relay. However, after the victory, the daughter mysteriously disappears, the kidnapper instead of the standard ransom with six zeros puts forward a delusional at first glance demand - Yu Ji-yeon is obliged to defend in the appeal of a brutal killer accused of the brutal murder of a young girl, motivating his demand with absurd assurances of the innocence of the criminal. The main character does not have so much time to think, to be burdened by a moral choice, the good of protecting murderers is a familiar thing. Together with a friend in the performance of a wonderful actor, she plunges into the investigation of this gloomy case, suddenly realizing that perhaps the crazy kidnapper is not so wrong and the judicial machine here will crush the innocent, while the real killer will escape punishment.
I applaud the plot standing up, especially its numerous kulbits and unexpected denouement. Finally not a beaten ending!!! However, such a sophisticated scenario is not the main advantage of the film. The acting of actors is simply beyond praise, Kim Yun Jin is simply magnificent, it is absolutely natural both in the tender scenes with her daughter and in the brutal struggle for life. Impressed by Yang Jin Wu, his performance of a mad drug addict is impressive, still gets through with disgust, to what drugs can bring a young handsome guy who has everything ahead. But the palm of the championship, so to speak, the personal Oscar goes naturally Kim Mi-suk, who masterfully played the mother of the deceased girl without a single false note. Uh, her acting gave me goosebumps all the way to the tips of my hair, and the final scene kicked a whole lot of tears out of me. I myself recently became a mother of a little girl, and all the pain that literally hits from the screen and fills the room swallowed me to the end. There was so much pain that I wanted to scream that I personally had no doubts about her character. What she created today is explained simply - the most cruel people are usually the kindest people who were mortally hurt and heartbroken.
An excellent film, almost everything is perfect in it, even a jumping picture in which I am not mad at all, but adds dynamics and drive to what is happening on the screen. Watching it is a true delight of connoisseurs of the genre. Fans of drama will also find something to cry over and depressingly reflect on. I highly recommend it!
The self-proclaimed “month” of Asian cinema continues. Quite saturated with rather superficial Hollywood novelties, I again decided to review those Asian tapes that I downloaded a long time ago and to which I did not get my hands. So I decided to start with this tape. Largely because of the lack of a sense of danger, which I thought was not bad enough to make up for watching a good thriller and not lost. To be honest, I didn’t expect anything from this tape. For without getting acquainted with either the reviews for this tape, or with the description, I decided to watch it stupidly because of the main role performer Yun Jin Kim, which I like madly since the days of Shiri Kang Jae-gyu and Stay Alive by JJ Abrams.
Surprisingly, I found a very tightly shot detective thriller that made me fall for two hours out of the usual rhythm of the world. For the main advantage of this film director Won Shin Yun can be considered that the film turned out to be incredibly atmospheric. This allows you not only to watch the events taking place on the screen, but also literally immerse yourself in them with your head. It’s like being a part of a screen action. I’ve always believed that the main element of a thriller is the atmosphere. Imposed by Hitchcock. All right. I am glad that the main focus is on this.
The director of the tape Won Shin Yun perfectly withstood the tape in a rather gloomy, hard, harsh and in many ways mysterious atmosphere, which does not let go of the final credits and leaves a certain sediment behind. In fact, as well as a number of really shot scenes. Whether it’s moments of motherhood or scenes of incredibly violent crimes. Surprisingly, as such, the number of brutal murders in the picture is not. Only the necessary effect is created without it. As well as the visual originality of the tape. Almost immediately, it feels as if the director of the film Won Shin Yun was inspired by the work of the late Tony Scott. Because the installation is very sharp and torn, the frames change each other insanely quickly, the camera shakes very often and all this greatly expands the usual concepts of a purely clip manner of shooting.
I have a lot of respect for films that carry a certain message and morality. For today, most of the cinematic work stands out only by the incredible surface of the plot. As if the creators do not think about the saturation of their work, but only about commercial profit. Hence, the main advantage of the picture can be considered not in the least famously prescribed detective line, but rather the basic morality, which the creators of the tape revealed perfectly. Especially the creators very well raised the personal drama and split of the main character. When to save her daughter, she is forced to abandon her principles of justice and defend the murderer in court.
This brings up a certain life thought about it. That even if it's not, but it's a different kind of choice that always comes up against us in life. When not everyone is capable of sacrificing something dear to them and bearing the burden of justice. This is reflected in the fact that in life justice is extremely rare and this is most frightening. So is it important to suffer serious sacrifices, or to remain an honest person both to others and to oneself? Almost at the very end of the tape, the creators hold the intrigue as to whether it rehabilitates its client or not. What even more famously twists the already spectacularly written detective story. Where everything is kept in the best traditions of the genre. Murder, mystery, undeservedly accused, mysterious killer and more.
We can safely say that such an intriguingly written plot allows you not only to observe the actions taking place on the screen, but mentally participate in the screen investigation yourself. But not everyone can predict such a final. As an example of whether the main character will save his daughter or on the example of who really turned out to be the kidnapper. We can safely say that few people will predict the latter. Although this reflects the main message of the tape and collects the mosaic of the picture in a perfect way.
As mentioned above, I decided to watch the film only because of Yoon Jin Kim, which I consider one of the most talented Korean actresses of our time. I am glad that this tape became another proof of my words. For Yun Jin Kim like no one else managed to reveal the depth of his not simple character so convincingly and tightly. Including so convincingly show maternal feelings that it is simply impossible not to empathize with her.
Similar odes can be sung and familiar to many on the "City Hunter" Kim Mi-Suk, which adequately played the mother of the deceased victim. The game is the most powerful and does not need unnecessary comments. These two actresses effectively swept all the other actors into the background. They played their roles more than perfectly. Including Pak Hwe Sung, which impressed me even in "Aroma".
The composer of the tape Kim Chun Son created the perfect musical accompaniment for this tape. Even in "Bestseller" he surprisingly stood out for an unusual vision of no less unusual sounds. What found a splash in this tape. For the music not only catches up the tension and mystery of the tape, but also perfectly reflects the entire drama of the situation at the expense of truly heartbreaking overtures. The picture is even better than it is.

A very tense, harsh, cruel and intriguing detective thriller that shocks and makes you think about much of your life. The perfect movie is not only for the eyes, but also not bad food for the mind. The film is definitely recommended for those who do not appreciate the exceptional lightness and elements of entertainment, but also the intellectual component.
