For a long time, Egor begged me to see his second film, after the debut “Lenin is always with me”, and take up his “Confessional Bar”. In general, I thought it would be difficult to evaluate the work of a comrade with whom I studied in the same year of the ISI directorial faculty.
As such, there is no history here, or there is one, but we have seen such stories dozens of times. A single girl, after a quarrel with a young man, meets a psychological assistance operator. Everything would be fine, but in these modest 20 minutes we see some bar somewhere in the basement, strange people who are carrying some game, unpleasant lights and music from which blood is about to flow from the ears. During these 20 minutes of viewing, I had a question: for whom was this filmed and why?
Egor is very fond of author's films - Antonioni, Polanski are his favorite directors. The very case when one can famously discuss aesthetic cinema, and absolutely does not learn even the basics and the first steps of his favorite directors.
500 thousand rubles of the budget is also surprising. It seems that 99% of this budget went to the fee of the aspiring actress Smolnikova. Anastasia Apukhtina, the producer of the film, can also be seen in the frame on her dance with ridiculous movements.
Egor has the Light of Oscillations in line with the same ensemble and producer. I know what to expect from this short work. I don’t think the creators will get ahead primarily because of their imagination. As an interlocutor, the author of the film is beautiful, but as a director - doubtful. I will advise Yegor to break into state channels and shoot TV series. Housewives love such idealess creations about the lost souls of Moscow kurvas, who themselves do not know what they want and what they aspire to.
Although Yegor himself often complained about the secondary nature of modern cinema not only young directors, but stepped on the same rake. What do we have? Unnecessary amateur garbage with a budget of 500,000 rubles.
