"Jurassic Park" on minimalism. For some reason, my friends compared this film to Krasinski's "A Quiet Place" in the atmosphere, but Krasinski had a cool one there. Suspense, there's nothing like that here. Sometimes spectacular, but there is no novelty and intelligence in the plot, everything is too superficial, And most importantly, there is no emotional background, there is no meat in this blockbuster. Too bad. I was hoping for some decent fiction. 🤔
In cinema, one of the subgenres of science fiction is quite common. In the course of such a work, the heroes fly to an unknown planet or their ship crashes in orbit of another galactic “ball”. On this principle was shot and '65' with cosplayer Darth Weider, that is, Adam Driver in the title role.
The story itself is as simple as possible here. The ship flies, he suffers disaster, now the protagonist has a simple task - to survive. It would not be so difficult for him to do this alone, since the guy has some inhuman physical training (probably the Sith help him).
However, the shipwreck is experienced by another person - a teenage girl who does not speak English. That she can cope without the help of a brave mercenary will not work. And for him, it initially acts as an additional ballast, but over time the situation changes.
The interaction of these characters is very good in the film. Again, there will be no revelations here. But at least the viewer will explain why there is almost parental affection between such different characters. And their behavior is quite plausible.
In the course of their journey, the couple gets into many prehistoric troubles. The flora and fauna here are similar to Earth, but only 65 million years ago. Even more: this is the Earth, and at this time, as we remember, the planet is visited by another interstellar wanderer who changed the climate and destroyed almost all life. Therefore, the heroes not only fight with dinosaurs, but also participate in a race with a meteorite.
'65' is quite a good fantastic action movie, which has all the main ingredients necessary for a good film: beautiful shooting, 'chemistry' between the characters, quite tolerable action and special effects. To claim the laurels of the best fiction, this tape will not be able, but will surely please fans of the genre.

. . I must say, the idea (in itself), of course, "Bombic!"! And here's why:
First, the idea that there were humans on Earth before the dinosaurs is interesting. And even if these people are not from the Earth itself, but nevertheless the fact is really interesting! In any case, it allows the viewer to relate himself to the main character and, in the name of childhood dreams, to be transported from childhood (as if thanks to a time machine) to prehistoric times with a modern mind and skills, rather than a club and wool on his back.
Second: The same people are from other universes/planets/galaxies. Here clearly blows the multiverse (thanks to the participation in the project of the infamous Sam Raimi!). In addition, this fact does not allow you to kick the authors of the film in the untruth, because the absence of people on Earth seems logical ... but about other planets with confidence can not and will not be convinced! . .
Dinosaurs! We're all used to being responsible for 'Jurassic Worlds/Parks', but we can add Godzilla to that cohort. It should be noted that the fabulousness, childishness and predictability of the fact that the other franchise - insulted, and I, as a spectator, want something truthful in the spirit of "Walks with dinosaurs" from childhood! Of course, neither one nor the other cohort '65' can be attributed, but it is something in between and relatively fresh!
Fourth, it’s not just about dinosaurs. This is the most interesting and culminating moment of their existence on Earth: the time of their END!! And here are combined and respect, as well as interest in the past of the Earth (its history), and the genre of universal catastrophe (the fall of a meteorite), and space adventures something in the spirit of “Alien”.
. . The other thing is incarnation! . . << /i>
. . Some confused impression remains from the film that during that aftertaste ... And this is the case when you can not say that lousy, but it does not smell beautiful here!
Despite the amazing meager timekeeping for this genre - looks like a ribbon with a great tension ... A little tedious. From that apparently, the film was mocked during editing, so that the viewer did not fall asleep completely, because these hour and a half are felt to be 2 or even 2:15 long!
The plot is simple: an ordinary walker / quest on the prehistoric Earth of the end of dinosaur life through swamps and forests, sometimes caves and geysers. And despite the fact that predators and action appear here with enviable regularity - from that it does not become more interesting: even the Hedgehog it becomes clear that one of the characters will survive for sure, with respect to the second - there are questions, but also chances. And since there is no one else to worry about here, the intrigue with eating someone from the GG at least until the final - disappears.
Throughout the tape, the face often did not leave the grimace of curvature: surprise at the inconsistency of logic, common sense and unsuccessful layout of what music, what gluing of the film, what everything else. Here's GG telling the second GG to run... And this is at the moment when the forest is teeming with creatures, and he just defended it, and where it runs - but there no one knows what and who is and whether it is safe there. One wonders why and where she should run, if she has at least some chances next to him! Attempt to insert humor into the film - came out kringe ... In the end, Gheroine is so pumped by the directors that single-handedly saves in the best traditions of Bruce Willis adult uncle-man... (which looks ridiculous and implausible, given the age of the girl...) Dinosaurs lash out at the first opportunity. Then they run past indifferently ignoring live prey... In forests and swamps, except for a couple of insects and, in fact, the dinosaurs themselves, there are no more animals from the word GENERAL! (not prehistoric tigers, bears, wolves and foxes). NI-KO-GO! Only 'rexes' and the like... Not even birds as such! Well, the expected moment with the turn of the rescue capsule into the desired position with the direct participation of the dinos - so read and was the Rulitsovskaya. As well as a safe takeoff up, when the whole sky was covered with falling comets. . .
.. And it is from such small numerous inconsistencies and harmless blunders that this whole story consists... Where there seems to be something sensible, for example, visual Some ideas, some ideas... Entourage and instruments... But all h... some childish and poorly professional defects and shortcomings. . .
. . ACTORS... The image of the character Driver - too bright and vivid for such events - clearly not in the topic! The girl is exactly a copy of the main character from Mission Impossible 2. It is more harmonious in the frame... Well, the real (in the film) snow-white daughter of the hero Driver from a black wife (who didn't know: Southern blood always wins! ... and not vice versa!) - it's just the Kringe Kringe! (and we know why he is here!) . . )
So ...
. . As an option to watch children’s dreams about dinosaurs, but only on the screen, to be at a time where I always wanted and get high from the final scenes over time – then, of course, yes!
Get back in space! To escape! Save yourself! With a fading heart to look for what is written only in encyclopedias and history textbooks - then, of course, yes!
.. Well, if without alcohol in the chest with the inherent seriousness of true gentlemen to look at this "festival masterpiece" ... it is better, indeed, your time not to waste! .
Scott Beck and Brian Woods on the agenda gave a quality fantastic action movie with Adam Driver in the title role, which was strange to see from them. If we are based on their previous full meter "They", then we have a pop horror, and then unexpectedly reasoning on the topic of advanced civilization before the Cretaceous Paleogene extinction.
Conceptually, the film is similar to the unsuccessful “After our era”, but it can also be noted that this is the “Last of us” on the minimum. There's a father, there's a daughter. We need to get to point B before the asteroid falls and destroys all life on planet Earth. The lucky decision was that the film is only an hour and a half: it is a fleeting and rhythmic adventure that does not have time to get bored when watching. Good design of dinosaurs, and the setting in general. Great sound: beautifully boozing, banging, God forbid. When I got acquainted with the film a couple of times caught myself thinking that this could turn out to be a good action game.
Acting jobs are good: Adam with a minimum of replicas plays his role for the whole hundredth. However, he manages not only deep and dramatic roles, but also mainstream popcorn.
“65” is a good genre movie that can entertain you for 90 minutes, but it is worth noting that you should not expect something breakthrough from it. Judging by the criticism and reviews on the Internet, people did not go, but I do not agree. This picture is much better than the entire filler fourth phase of the MCU, which is real about nothing. Here everything is in place: an excellent setting and an interesting management idea, high-quality technical performance and acting work. If you want to get high, watch on the big screen, because on a small gadget - a waste of time.

A Nightmare for a Paleontologist, or the Amazing Adventures of Kylo Ren on Earth
I watched this film after seeing a review on the channel Kinokos on Yandex-Zen. Basically, he was right there. In general, the plot turned out to be similar to After Era with Will Smith and his son. In any case, it seems that the script was written by the same deer.
Many years ago, back in 1939, the American science fiction writer Lyon Sprague de Kamp was very unhappy that aliens are depicted very similar to humans from Earth. At the beginning of the 21st century (one hundred years have passed), we again see anthropoid aliens. And they, as it turns out, have their own space blacks on the planet. Anyway, tov. Kylo Ren ... sorry, Adam Driver doesn't give the impression of an alien. No way. Evolution doesn't work that way. She made a kangaroo instead of a marsupial deer in Australia. And the writers want a human double to suddenly appear in space, that is, all the accidents that have affected the appearance of our species will be repeated. Yeah, we broke up.
But the Earth, according to the idea of the writers, we have the real, and it is the end of the Cretaceous, late Maastricht, if you will. So, the fauna of dinosaurs and so on in this movie should correspond to modern knowledge about it. Is that true? Yeah, yazz. Paleontologists, probably, either the valerian is snorted with liters, or launched into the screen with something heavy.
How many years was the battle of paleontologists for feathered dinosaurs? But on the screen we again see a naked raptor, which only on the ridge stretches some shit like a porcupine needle.
Cagal of dinosaur villains sinisterly sneaks up on the girl, belligerently putting the seat up. It is not surprising: the hind legs are adapted to bipedal walking, but the writer puts dinosaurs in the pose of cancer. And the front legs are like a lizard. Guys, we got archosaurs here! Dinosaurs, not lizards! Even a well-fed lizard is not a dinosaur. And how skinny they are, even the stomach stuck to the back. Do you want to kill those moviegoers?
Pterosaurs were surprised by the presence of tails. We've got the end of the Cretaceous in our backyard, and the tailed pterosaurs lived in a previous era, in the Jurassic. And in general, pterosaurs do not fit into any species known to science.
The idea of the ecosystem as a whole is kind of stupid. Everyone they meet wants to kill them. Except for one dinosaur with cartoon eyes, who was saved to the delight of some bald raptors. In fact, the heroes must meet herds of herbivorous dinosaurs, and only rare predators. That’s what a healthy ecosystem is supposed to do. But it's okay! So there was only one herbivorous dinosaur. And he died.
Glavgad, later cooked with a geyser, deserves special mention. What kind is he? Paleontology does not know of predatory four-legged dinosaurs. At all. This creature is at best similar to the first image of a megalosaurus, made in the 19th century by old man Buckland and later recognized as incorrect. We now have the 21st century in the yard.
Now, what kind of creature is crawling in the puddle into which a piece of ash fell with Kylo Ren? Like a boa constrictor with a fin on his back. It's so big, and in such a swamp? Why was she brought into kinzo? For creepy? This shotgun did not "shot out" during the play.
And by the way, did you notice how neatly the ash fell into the swamp? Even the grass did not take after him, although, in theory, he should have left a trace of a hard planting in the form of broken trees and a deep ditch. And certainly would scare away unknown paleontologists fish boars.
By the way, where are we doing this? Judging by the tyrannosaurs (most likely they are, although they will also make paleontologists nervous), the scene is North America. The stone, I recall, fell on Yucatan, in Central America. And then they screwed up.
You take aliens, dinosaurs, an asteroid and a man saving a girl.
I'll try to be brief. Although, the main idea is outlined in the title. The film industry is starving. No, ideological. If there were interesting ideas, it would be bad, but the script can be undermined under it. And if you have famous actors, and you have CGI, you can have another Avatar. But if you don't have an idea, you take work themes for the background, like space, dinosaurs and a drive race against time, stir and stir. After watching the movie, I wondered what it was. Why was Earth mentioned at all, why is this number 65, why dinosaurs, if it could be any planet with an unchanged ending? In the film, there are a lot of “bookmarks” that hint at development, accents on details, which in the end are not played out in any way. There was and was a beautiful moment, nothing more. There remains a persistent aftertaste of understatement. Perhaps the script was heavily castrated, hiding the original idea from us at the final editing. And all this against the background of good attempts of actors to play their roles. But they didn’t seem to know what they were playing either.
'65' - autodafe according to the new Spielberg, where for some reason they forgot to include the writers' fee
Long ago, dinosaurs were completely and irrevocably privatized by Spielberg. More specifically, his franchise, which actually already lives in our capitalist world and without its creator. Scott Beck and Brian Woods (writers of Quiet Place) and Sam Raimi suddenly thought, why not take bread from the master and create their own Vegas with Rex, pterodactyls and swing for the saga. I thought, and for some reason made a movie-disaster. And it's not about the genre.
What's good? Not much, but I'll try. First, the name. Events take place in the world 65,000 years ago. Fresh and delicious. Yum-yum
Second, going into history. There is an advanced planet Samaris with pink nights and an entire civilization, from where transcosmic flights go throughout the studied galaxy. One of these lucky character Adam Driver (how did you get here, old man?), forced to look for a job because of a sick daughter. The aircraft crashes, the hero with the only surviving passenger is on an unknown planet infested with ancient reptiles. This is our Earth.
That's all good. Then comes the trouble. Pedigree film primitive. The whole scenario is a path from point A to point B without much motivation. It didn’t work out with action, which is boring after half an hour of watching. Infinite creatures, all but one little man, tend to eat Kylo Ren. And he goes, moves towards the goal, like the same meteorite that is destined to divide the history of the Earth into before and after.
We didn't get it right. The land 65,000 years ago looks like autumn Iceland with aggressive geysers and icy seas. Space is shown as a wasteland. Even Tarkovsky dabbled in this in Solaris, but here excessive pastoral is devoid of any meaning.
Exactly 0% that a good idea will turn in the direction of a long franchise. This film should be quickly forgotten by everyone. And the fans of "A Quiet Place", and the accidental CA "Jurassic Parks", and especially the fans of Adam Driver. A man with a very delicate choice of roles was once again given the strange. And if with Kylo Ren you can explain the choice at least for marketing benefits, then here you will have to call an exorcist.
'65' is a superfluous argument to all bubbling old people that it used to be better. And while they grumble and throw popcorn at the screen, somewhere in the United States, another grandfather gently examines the figure of a Tyrannosaurus on his toy shelf and grieves that he never won an Oscar for Fabelman.
A very unusual movie with Adam Driver. The plot takes us to an unknown planet, where people now live (suspiciously similar to our Earth, but in the future). Mills is forced to go on a space expedition for 2 years to earn money for the treatment of his daughter. During the flight, his spacecraft falls into the stream of asteroids and crashes on some planet with developed flora (and, as it turns out, fauna).
Soon it becomes clear to him that this is their own Earth, but 65 million years ago, and the planet is inhabited by dinosaurs. Only a 10-year-old girl remains alive, sleeping in a cryo-sleep, who does not even speak the same language with Mills. To survive, they need to make friends, stick together and fearlessly hike through forests inhabited by prehistoric creatures to the mountain on which their spare spacecraft collapsed.
I love dinosaur movies, so I liked the movie. Let us not explain how the heroes could get into the past, otherwise there is practically nothing to cling to. Cool graphics, impressive diverse dinosaurs, a dynamic survival plot and an interesting line with Mills’ attempts to build a relationship with a little girl. Both Adam Driver and Ariana Greenblatt look very organic in their roles. The finale was bright and memorable. I recommend to view fans of unusual movies and fans of Adam Driver (he is good here).

The strange-looking project about the planet of dinosaurs initially seemed like some low-grade thrash level of the notorious Asylum studio or something. Only Adam Driver attracted attention, whose participation in a picture of this kind caused questions. Actually, it was because of the Driver that this feature film I eventually turned up, which I subsequently did not regret.
Perhaps it’s worth starting with the fact that “65” is not exactly a fantastic action movie and not quite about dinosaurs. No, there are ancient lizards, there are unequal fights with them and a fantastic setting is also present. “65” is a movie about people. About two people who were brought together by an invisible hand of fate, forcing a girl named Coa and Mills, the father of a girl about the same age as his unexpected companion.
Yes, '65' is again a story about fatherly feelings and family ties that did not come from blood. We’ve seen Logan, we’ve seen Leon, and more recently, for the masses unfamiliar with the beautiful The Last of Us, the eponymous adaptation from Netflix came out. However, the '65', despite the number of highly respected and powerful competitors, looks amazing.
The story turned out to be very sensual, and all two characters capture the viewer’s attention completely. Their relationship is interesting, curious to see how Mills and Koa gradually get closer, while speaking literally in different languages. The characters are very well played. Adam Driver has repeatedly shown himself to be an excellent actor, and young Ariana Greenblatt, although not Natalie Portman and not Daphne Keen, still looks great on the screen.
The action component, of course, is also available. Escape from his majesty T-rex and shoot smaller toothy reptiles looks very good and entertaining more than the previous Jurassic Worlds combined. At the same time, the narrative in '65' is built perfectly, the tape is captivating, maintaining the necessary dynamics.
Undoubtedly, the tape raises questions to its own world order, and answers to them, of course, does not give. But personally, I didn’t care about all this during the viewing. I enjoyed the viewing itself, the beautiful picture, the simple but sensual story. So ‘65’ is a great movie that easily puts many multimillion-dollar blockbusters in the AAA category under the belt.
It is difficult to imagine how dangerous and unpredictable our planet was 65 million years ago. This is a place that became home to dinosaurs and other monsters. A man wouldn't survive here. But the authors of the film “65” decided to show, and that it would be, if on that ancient Earth there was a hero, and maybe not one, who is here for the first time and he needs to somehow get to the rescue place through kilometers of dangerous terrain.
The film begins on the planet Somaris, where a civilization similar to humans has unique technologies and is expanding into distant space. One of the pilots who takes the study of promising systems turns out to be Mills, played by Adam Driver. He needs to go on a long road to earn the right amount of money to treat his daughter, and after some doubts he still serves.
But before the spacecraft reaches the desired point, an accident occurs and the shuttle crashes on Earth, which for the inhabitants of Somaris is a completely unexplored place. And Mills must survive not only for himself, but also for the sake of the girl who also flew with him and miraculously save in a crash. There is a long way ahead and it will not be easy.
According to the laws of the genre, Mills will have to fight with dinosaurs, get into various dangerous situations and gradually strengthen friendship with a girl who can not stand up for herself. Of course, these kinds of stories have always been interesting, but the problem with this film is that it’s not expensive enough. The authors could not turn around fully, and therefore there is no level of dizzying adventures that could make the film stand out for the better.
However, despite its modest budget, the film still boasts Adam Driver. For good reason, he is considered one of the most interesting actors of his generation and even in such a film he gave his best. In any action Driver is able to add a fair share of drama and his participation actually graced the production.
"65" was a pretty good movie, but not a strong one. You can watch it for the sake of interest, but do not expect anything special. This is a mid-range adventure fantasy film and more from it is not necessary to demand.
Living in a test tube or flask, forgive the moveton, sometimes in a glass, we forget that we are all astronauts. The planet is a ship, so each of us is an astronaut. Alas, we forget all this when we plunge into the bustle of everyday tasks. Here and guests from the past (future) escaped from the bustle of everyday life to plunge into the turmoil of the wild western of our Mother Earth. They tasted primitive fear and discomfort, but were saved. Maybe we will escape the obsession and remember why we are here?
All right, really good! With an empty head, waiting for candy on a platter or special effects from Marvel, we will miss the most important thing. Imagine that this is a live theater, which means you need to feel everything that is happening on your own skin, despite the bunch of lotions and gadgets that GG has. You're mortal, accept it! What emotions will your mind tremble in this wilderness? What kind of experience will strangle you in this godforsaken place?
Consciously live these 1.5 hours, and look at your pleasant comfort and joys of life, forgetting that you are still flying into the abyss. The abyss of infinite space.
Having starved for smart, science fiction films, I began to look only out of curiosity to understand how a highly technologically advanced person appears on our ancient planet, 65 million years ago.
In my head were assumptions - a time machine?
Could it be a failed, scientific hyperspace experiment?
Or maybe a cosmic anomaly distorting spacetime around a spacecraft? Maybe. . .
From the very first seconds, this film disappointed me, writing its concept - "before the appearance of mankind, in infinite space, other civilizations explored the heavens."
Further, in the most primitive way, having received the answer to my question, I was forced, with ever-increasing disappointment, to state that everything that happened next consisted of saving the film budget, film stereotypes, subpoenas and outright nonsense.
From the very beginning, not being able to immerse the viewer in his world, the film simply destroys its own concept.
Another highly developed civilization has no cities, no buildings, no scientists, no cosmodromes, no even scientific organizations sending their tribesmen into outer space.
There are no minimal differences that demonstrate the differences of aliens, there is not even a native language that this alien civilization speaks!
Another civilization speaking English, a cloud of light years from Earth, in a time period minus 65 million years - this is already absurd enough.
And what, at the beginning of the story, the viewer sees, within the framework of this concept - nothing and no one but three ordinary people (one must be black!), against the background of artisanally painted, twisted rock, which, is going to economically tell the viewer about a completely different world of habitation of these non-earthly people. Here you go, another alien civilization.
Their planet doesn’t even have a name. The planet "Somaris", has a consonance with Lemovsky Solaris. Oh my God, what a wretched fantasy of the authors.
What happens after the story is launched? And then, already from a low starting position, the narrative line rolls down an inclined one and eventually breaks through the bottom.
Everything that happens on the screen takes place according to already beaten movie templates, which can be described as follows: “In the last second, before death, save your companion or save yourself, in order to later allow yourself to be saved in the same way.” This endless loop, repeated throughout the film, turning eventually into the culmination of the absurd, in which the destroyed ship, in the last seconds before the fall of the meteorite, goes into outer space, in which, in zero gravity, the fluffy hair of the main characters continue to hang from the Earth's gravity.
In general, there is no desire or time to describe all the stupidities of this film. I just want to summarize - against the background of really good science fiction films, '65' is unremarkable poor, sometimes stupid.
In recent years, the tendency of mass cinema to simplify, primitive scripts is clearly visible, and this film is a clear example of this process. Its features are clearly visible in every scene and its details, in the absence of any work. From the very beginning of the timekeeping until the appearance of the titles, I was personally visited by the same thought over and over again - how does the modern viewer tolerate such an attitude towards himself? How is he able to spend his time doing this kind of bullying and possibly enjoy it? When did people forget that there were great examples of science fiction and science fiction to learn from? When did people have a distorted understanding of the world order and a sense of tastelessness?
Personally, it was enough for me to see the opening scene with the “landing” on an unknown planet to reliably assess the quality of this craft (this language does not turn into a movie). All crew in cryos, and only 1 shifter conscious? Okay. On board is an AI system that monitors the situation and its safety? Okay. What does a shifter do when he trusts a cold-blooded calculating machine? That's right, she's asleep. At the same time, this machine is not able to adjust the route, plan the route, analyze the conditions on the route, or warn in advance of a situation in which human intervention is needed, and also does not have any protocol for emergency situations and protection from space debris, including meteorite fields. And this is with long-term space flights, which humanity makes, as I understand, constantly. How did you get to adulthood, guys?
Then more. The classic removal of my helmet on an unknown planet and the subsequent "Here you can breathe" to randomly check the composition of the air - in such scenes my hand punches my face in fits of shame and resentment. And also crawling without any protection on new places with passing sniffing, licking, sticking in open wounds and mouths of everything that looks like dirt / mucus, etc.
And what is the first thought after the "landing" of an experienced captain, and on which the treatment of his beloved daughter depends? That's right - suicide...
And all further timekeeping is devoted to moving from point A to point B with the most boring set of adventures along the way. Well seriously, there are short films on YouTube that in a few minutes show stories hundreds and thousands of times more interesting than this. As an example - Irradiation from the author Sava Zivkovic, look, a magnificent creation in the universe of Stalker.
Conclusion.
A good movie is always a balance. The balance between its components, which create a world that is interesting to watch, that you want to explore. It is not necessary that each of them should be perfect. In many cases, it is enough to work out only some of them, with the expectation of the target audience, or following the will of inspiration / budget. For example, qualitatively put and implement combat scenes, superimposing them on a brutal character with a classic simple plot of revenge.
Or scientifically and reliably prescribe, with the elaboration of details and actions, a plot about any global threat, be it an asteroid, an evil AI, aliens or a virus. And you can invest all your strength in the sound and incredible beauty of the picture. Or spectacular fights/catastrophes, etc. There are many options, and all of them have already been implemented. In the case of '65', the option was chosen - mediocrity, which in recent years is used in cinema more and more often, which I see as a degradation, primarily of the viewer. Because demand creates supply. And that's sad.
One thing is clear, the dinosaurs on the cover are still working.
A man from an alien race that looks like humans. Under the weight of loans agrees to work away from home. As a result of some delirium gets to Earth, where the ancestors of people still live in burrows, and the world is ruled by dinosaurs. Thanks to the miracle cryo cameras, everyone on board except the protagonist and the girl die. The girl is stupider than dinosaurs. It was added to the film solely to increase timekeeping.
In general, nothing else happens in the film. The pair just walks through the forest from point a to B. Dinosaurs are very few, they are either extinct before the fall of the comet or very shy. But the guys hardly meet them. And if they do, they die quickly from the miracle of a gun. "Rex" we see only in pitch darkness. It’s a day that lasts exactly one scene.
I already sinfully thought that now the plot will twist and our heroes will become the progenitors of humanity, no wonder they look like people. Or they are the descendants of humans who have moved in time. No!
One thing is clear, making a movie without a script is a bad idea.
As soon as I started watching this movie, I was immediately informed that the events took place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, but with a claim to scientificity. We've been briefed. In which he explained that the father will have to go on a very watch in distant space for a long time to earn a medicine sick daughter. Notice we haven't been shown how sick her daughter is, how far the disease is progressing. How much time they have to save her. Just a slight superficial fact and a slight cough, nothing more (apparently interplanetary 'Covid').
And then the ship crashes, almost repeating the film by David Tui "Pitch black". The hero is left alone and in the credits we are told that he fell to the ground 65 million years ago, thus giving us to understand that now we will reveal the mystery of how people “started up” on Earth. And I understand perfectly well that the film is a work of fiction, and does not pretend to be a scientific documentary or even a popular science film, but I could not even watch such heresy further. I guess I don’t think I’m going to get a lot of questions in this movie. However, let’s start with a little help, which can be emphasized everywhere on the Internet or in libraries:
The first is that all life on planet Earth is related, and originated from an ancient ocean (soup), all called differently. There's evidence for that. That is, how the solar system, the planets (Earth in particular), how water was formed on it, the conditions for water to be maintained in liquid form, how chemical elements were mixed, the time of storms and lightning, which led to the formation of the first amino acids and the further development of simple single-celled ones, etc. Here I note that the only thing that has not yet been able to synthesize in the “natural” environment is the fusion of simple single-celled into complex ones, which in fact have become the starting point of evolution for ALL that exists today.
Back to the movie. The protagonist arrives on our ancient planet Earth, already quite a man, in our present form and stage of development, and begins to adventure dinosaurs. I immediately had a thousand questions, like, if life everywhere in our universe arises only under the same conditions, but then it is still unclear why everything is identical, hands, feet, voice. There must be differences. At least it's like Star Trek. But I'm just being sold this heresy very cheaply. And after that, personally, I don’t care what actors there are, what storylines, how the hero will save or not save his daughter. Because at the entrance to the movie, it's a total mess. I'm not even interested in how it ends. I do not plan to waste time on an initially low-grade film for which the script was written by a person of the level of a fifth grader, and who is studying for twos and skipping school.
I immediately liked the idea of the film. The idea of an alien race that is similar to ours but lived millions of years ago is intriguing. Plus, an interesting concept was when one such “alien” is sent to Earth, but in the time of the dinosaurs. Thus, these lizards turn into extraterrestrial creatures for the alien himself. And they are a double danger to him because he knows nothing about them. Again, this is a very interesting idea. But you also need a smart implementation so that the potentially intriguing plot does not die in the bud. This is where the movie starts to get in trouble.
The script itself is secondary to the impossible. Everything shown could be seen in many blockbusters before, and if you compare with any After our era, it may be completely revealed that all the main trails copied almost exactly. Various devices of the protagonist could be seen in a variety of games and films, not one of them does not look original. The very path of an experienced warrior protecting a little girl was played everywhere, from Leon to Mandalorian with God of War. There's no scene where you can say, 'This is something I haven't seen anywhere, original.' This movie is just boring to watch.
Dinosaurs were almost never used. They're here for 7 minutes, and they all look weird. Say, why does T-Rex have huge forelimbs in this movie? We can blame it on the fact that paleontology science is inaccurate, and real dinosaurs looked very different. But first, Tyrannosaurus is one of the few primitive lizards whose skeleton has been preserved completely and has already been thoroughly studied. And secondly, why are so many people picking on the appearance of a conditional Giganotosaurus from the recent Jurassic World, which has been greatly altered? There are many such examples in this film. Plus, there are only dinosaurs-predators, and herbivores ... apparently before the meteorite all extinct?
The production is also extremely unpretentious. All shooting takes place in a typical forest, which is difficult to call even prehistoric. Action scenes are shot either at night to hide the cheapness of the graphics, or during the day, but with a large number of editing glues to hide the unprofessionalism of the directors. Graphics, of course, cartoon (so, by the way, dinosaurs and show a little), but given the small budget, you can accept.
There are positives here. Driver's acting is very good. In every scene you believe that a person with military experience could do this in a certain situation. The girl's trying too. Plus, the idea that he and Driver's character speak different languages is great. In such films, everyone knows English, and here, it turns out, there are other languages. And yes, their communication will be difficult, which will be the reason for many embarrassing situations. The world of a human-like ancient civilization is intriguing, but it has been shown little, or rather not at all. Only in a couple of flashbacks and Driver himself spoke fleetingly about their world order. But that's not enough. But it was possible to work out a new world with an alternative Earth. Unfortunately, the opportunity was missed.
Should we watch this movie? If you just want to kill time and you're such a big fan of dinosaurs that you're willing to watch a movie that shows them either in the dark or in fragments, then yes. After all, unlike after our era, there is good acting, and the dialogue is not so poor. If you want to see more, this movie is not for you. An hour and a half will kill your time, but it won’t bring it back. 65 is an extremely nondescript movie, which in the dry remnant quickly flies out of my head, because it is already difficult to call a worthy film. Dinosaurs deserve much more.
Once Steven Spielberg saw in the relatives of today’s birds the makings of actors for large-scale blockbusters. In fairness, only he managed to make a decent franchise with twins. All other attempts with screaming tyrannosaurs and pterodaktels most often after the rental turned into uninteresting film and paleontological specimens.
“65” from the first minutes already looks like an extinct creature, from which only a couple of ribs and empty eye sockets remain. A thesis-spread plot construct with some quasi-scientific fads and games over time should quickly lead us to those great and terrible fossil lizards, but the small budget of the film made the meeting completely uninteresting.
Most of the dinosaur action wanders in the dark. The muzzles of monsters can be seen only on stop frames when light accidentally falls on them.
Adam Driver, strangely similar to John Wick from afar, waves his laser blaster in different directions, fighting off some vague figures lost in textures. His adventure partner, the little girl, apparently, should send us to the Last of Us - only, as you understand, instead of zombies, there are distraught theropods.
The fantasy of the film crew was limited to a couple of humoresques and a classic tramp from point A to point B. It is difficult to say what such a film was designed for. Apparently, only on fierce dinosaur fans and Adam Driver. If you consider yourself among them, then I ask for mercy to a hut from an ancient fern and the bones of Triceratops.

Neanderthals in space or how marketers wiped out dinosaurs, again. .
In the trailers, we were promised a dynamic survivor in the setting of a space shipwreck on an ancient land teeming with inhospitable inhabitants. And all of a sudden, that's what we see on the screen for 93 minutes. + 1 point.
No ' subpoenas ' no flirting with messianism, no other excesses that we did not ask for, but which is full of modern cinema. +1 point
Sci-fi setting at first glance performs the classic function 'wraps', explaining the presence of advanced gadgets, the miracle of a shooting stick and a celestial chariot, but the detail is rather harmoniously woven into the canvas of the narrative. So you start to believe in this world. Let me explain why.
For this expedition really prepared, picked up a team with survival skills, collected suitable equipment, provided reliable & #39; in what ages & #39; communication, provided emergency and rescue protocols and systems. +1 point
At the same time, quite realistic technical difficulties were not ignored: the translator broke down - they were forced to explain themselves by gestures and drawings, even with a creature of their own kind, because a girl from another province. Increased the power of the shooter - quickly ran out of charge, now run from the locals in the swamps. For all the advancedness of the rescue bot, it cannot levitate magically, upside down. +1 point
On the planet, life goes on as usual, everyone wants to eat each other, in principle, since then this has not changed much. The diversity of local flora and fauna is not amazing, but it is well shown. Alpha predators go where and when they want. Who's the smaller one? They're in small gangs. Those who are more abstruse hide in secluded lush places and wait for hapless passersby.
In general, a rather tense picture of the struggle for survival has been created. +1 point.
The characters are quite alive, they move the plot, although it is a simple corridor trip from point A to point B, but this is not a problem of characters, but the framework of the genre. Heroes have a reasonable motivation, they act according to their internal logic. The driver embodied on the screen embroidery worker living for others, the brave girl wants to go home, so does not lag behind. Yes, we have repeatedly seen this on the screen Logan, Last of As, Dog and Arya, Mandalorian, Terminator and many other examples, but in this case the actors coped with their work, they developed a balanced duet. +1 point
Collectively, we get a world and events that are interesting to watch. I want the most. Learn more about this ancient civilization that explored the stars. More details about their world, society, and triangular writing. More about technology, space scanning, wonder shooter? about which perhaps every boy dreamed of as a child. About an interesting homage to Neanderthals through rock writing and the selection of Adam Driver for the main role with his massive angular physiognomy. +1 point
Of course, the film has sins that will not allow it to deserve the love of the audience and the affection of critics. First of all, this is its secondary, the modern viewer shamelessly overcooked, we are not surprised by decent graphics, large-scale special effects, cheerful action. Where? where a few years ago you could count on the wow effect, now at best approving 'hmynut', and more often and completely perceived with 'Pokerface'. It’s not good or bad, it’s a reality that doesn’t make the movie worse.
The film did not achieve commercial success and it is not the fault of the actors, the audience and even the creators.
I think this is the fault of marketers.
They tried to position the sci-fi adventure film for the whole family as an average summer blockbuster, to which it objectively falls short due to the camera nature of its history. Therefore, the creators had to sacrifice the depth of disclosure of the world in the direction of entertainment, balancing on the edge of the PG13 rating. In the end, we see what we see. A classic example of a story with a cool idea and an unrealistic implementation.
However, if you abstract from these vicissitudes, the film can be watched with pleasure. It's interesting.
Adam Driver feels at home in space for a long time, but this time, falling from the sky, he turns out to be on Earth, but as much as 65 million years ago and an alien here he is now.
His ship splits in two when it hits our firmament, among the embroidered none but a strange little girl of nine who speaks a tongue of triangles. GG from a distant galaxy says, for some reason, in English, the distance is blurred in kilometers and breathes (well!) the earth's air.
The purpose of the couple is not clear either in the first minutes or in the final credits, but they are quite convincing (and Adam, a graduate of almost the best theater school in the States) jump over ancient minivolcanoes, dodge biting dinosaurs, repair fractures and do not drown in swamps.
The role of the ancient surface of our planet here is played by the country of Ireland and the state of Oregon, pretending to be a mysterious forest through which you need (!) aimlessly drag a frightened child, but in general, instead of “65” you can just watch the new “Jurassic Park” with at least funny Chris Pratt, and then if computer dinosaurs are your secret weakness.
And now my version of events.
Two guys, Scott and Brian, uploaded to ChatGPT, seemingly not quite compatible with each other “Logan”, “Leon-killer”, “Resident Evil” and “Fifth Element”. On the way out, the guys ordered the program to create something epic so that “everything collapsed and exploded”, to which the obedient algorithm gave the script “65”. Columbia Pictures paid for it, and so we have another useless movie about dinosaurs, an asteroid and a family, which no one will ever tell better than Dominic from the coming on screen this year, the final part of “Fast and Furious”.
I'm impatient.
Seeing the trailer for the first time, you might think that we have a kind of retro sci-fi action movie in the spirit of old fiction about getting people into the primitive world. But in fact, we got only a rather bland and no more than purely formal 'scientific'-fantastic film, which follows its genre cliché as mechanically as possible.
And a pity, because we had almost all the components for if not a good, then at least a strong blockbuster average. An excellent actor, Adam Driver, who, due to his military past and acting talent, can both portray a warrior in action and play a live person. A decent budget for the image of the Earth ' before time' and an action scene with dinosaurs. Finally, the plot that catches already at the level of a simple synopsis.
The film doesn’t use almost any of this properly, except that Driver hasn’t hit his face as usual (well, within the film’s events, at least figuratively), and the action is at least mediocre and boring, not objectively bad. This is just the most mechanically made movie. Not qualitatively and creatively as ideal commercial products from Illumination, namely, that the most made according to all instructions craftsmanship.
All this is especially spoiled by the extremely unfortunate decision to put half the scenes either in the middle of the night or in some unlit rooms, which makes the Alien vs. Predator dilogy seem filmed in sunny California. Even in those moments when the film uses its budget for its intended purpose, you just don't see half the action because of the darkness and pale blue filters.
I'm not talking about dinosaurs. The only, if I may say completely 'canonical' dinosaur here is Tyrannosaurus Rex. This is one of the most famous or even memetic dinosaurs, without which no dinosaur film has ever done. So it would be hard to get along with him. The rest of the dinosaurs shown in the film either did not live on Earth at the specified time or period, or make strange hybrids, or have some distracting image errors. One plus, the film dragged prehistoric proto-crocodile, which is really rare even in science fiction.
And yes, the choice of 65 million years BC is a very strong hint of certain events in the film. But I think for those who are interested in the topic, this is already obvious. And for those who do not know, at least serve as a plot intrigue.
65 is another representative of those films that are not good or bad, they are simply nothing and quickly fade from memory when you have no reason to discuss them. If you’re not looking for a genre movie where the more clichés, the better, or just anything about dinosaurs, I don’t even know how it will hold your attention, to be honest.

In the depths of cinematography, titanic paintings are formed, but not every project can be successful. No matter how much they advertised the film as a project from Sam Raimi himself (only as a producer), from the creators of Quiet Place themselves..2 (only auxiliary writers) he did not take anything good from these films.
'65' with Adam Driver became one of those paintings, with an interesting concept but poor implementation.
The plot is very weak, it feels like it was written in a couple of days (the stories about the girl and father were already so much that you could learn), very boring, very monotonous and template, so you can describe the plot of the film.
Actors... the film could be a great performance of Adam Driver and Arianna Greenblatt, but the acting ... it seems that even the actors themselves did not care about the film. The characters they played were supposed to be a kind of reminiscent of the relationship between Logan and X-23, Joel and Ellie, where after a lot of difficulties they become closer to each other than ever, which in film 65 I did not see, because all the emotions are wooden and you just can’t believe that Driver does not care about the girl at all.
Graphics, the film has a rather small budget for such projects, so the filmmakers apparently decided to shoot half the film at night, so as not to burn bad graphics, which unfortunately was very clearly visible even in the late night, but for the effort can be praised, and then criticized for the scant image of the diverse flora and fauna of the Cretaceous period.
Directing leaves much to be desired, the pace of the narrative makes the viewer only fall asleep, there are no interesting directorial moves, camera techniques are standard, as in series. The film is more like a draft that should have been finalized.
Special attention deserves the previously described connection between the main character and the girl, which is a help to the plot. However, here instead of a dramatic and written story, a student work-parody ' Logan' and ' The Last of Us' was shown. Sometimes I wonder why Adam Driver would do this. The actor is good, knows how to play, but apparently money decides.
The film, although not hopeless, can not be considered successful. The idea behind '65' is quite interesting, but its implementation spoils the whole film. The actors are inconclusive, and the characters don’t seem alive. You can watch the film, but you should be prepared for the fact that it is not called a masterpiece.
Yeah. Cinema for all the time of its existence has accustomed viewers to the fact that it is ready to issue cinematic masterpieces. The situation is that there are real masterpieces and there are masterpieces in quotation marks. The second is just enough in nature. Of course, the creators of a particular film always believe, hope, believe that they are shooting something at least watchable and, at most, very interesting. Perhaps you have already realized that a promising and potentially high-profile project '65' quickly burst into the camp 'masterpieces'. It is a question of language – why?
Yes, because from the very first frames in my head a whirlwind of questions. As you know, there is no time travel and teleportation in the film, therefore, the first exclamations are: why they look like this, why they talk like this, why they use these words, how the terrain in which they live, and what the political system there is. These and other potentially dangerous questions noticeably repel the audience’s interest that further either everything becomes boring, or something is wrong with the audience. In the script, everything is so presented that there is no reason for it.
The funniest thing Beck-Woods could do was to combine the appearance of an unexpected visitor from the sky on Earth 65 million years ago with one very important historical moment on our planet. No, how comfortable these guys are, everything is stitched with white threads! If you think you're looking at a dinosaur movie, nothing like that. This is more of a story about how to take a conventional $45 million, invest it in production, in advertising rely on ' Quiet Place' and Sam Raimi, and then fail miserably wherever you can. Adam Driver's career. ..
Dangerous. He said he accepted the role because of his son’s love for dinosaurs. I don’t think he’s going to blame his son for a broken career. By the way, there are no complaints about the actor. He is able to play drama, his hero is a little empathetic, he is attractive as a protagonist. Like his young colleague Ariana Greenblatt, the two had a great chemo-physico-biological bond. But even they can’t take out an entire movie that’s completely empty, illogical and banal boring. The problem here is clear.
Praised for nothing for a medium horror ' Quiet Place' the duo Beck-Woods on all claims and questions can safely answer that it is fantastic. It's all real in her, so it's stupid to pick on her. I'm sorry, but science fiction is different. And the fact that the protagonist, who suspiciously resembles one species of mammals on Earth, quietly walks around in the middle of an unknown area without protective equipment simply because the environment is suitable for this, freezes out in a childish way. Then ask yourself, what is John Wick and the dinosaurs all about? Adam Driver ...
Keanu Reeves is too old for his role, so he could be replaced by a young hero. Be eating, army training is available, long straws and facial vegetation are provided. Like a hired killer against a horde of reptiles. The dinosaurs in the movie are dumb for noise. They're just there, they're evil, they attack, they're small at first, they're giants at the end. In general, this final fight with tyrannosaurs is not justified. Just conveniently passed by the heroes-hostages. Sorry, but if this is survival, it is clearly for the most unassuming audience.
A fantastic work should have its own system that allows you to answer logical questions, give an occasion to consider different probabilities, finally get any impressions of what can only be imagined in your head. The duo of directors type complained that Steven Spielberg took the dinosaur monopoly for himself. But in ' Park' you can still believe in the theory of the origin of lizards, while '65' not about them at all, but that you need to make money first, and only then have children. Man, where did money come from 65 million years ago?
Fantastic!
