Sasha works as a veterinary paramedic. Cleans dogs' ears. The guy is not sure about himself, can not decide on the first step. Everyone tells him not to live in the past, think about the future. He does not want to go to work with his father, does not take risks and does not want to develop. Looks like the guy's gone astral. But when a beloved girl presents him with an unexpected surprise, he has no choice but to get drunk.
But where in the house is the perfect place to raise courage? Right, toilet. But by accident, it fails in '92. On the improvised jolt of time, he finds himself not at home, but in his past, in his childhood. Now the guy has to do everything to get back ' back to the future' before he has time to screw up in the past. The butterfly effect after all.
Actors: Roman Kurtsyn to be honest, everyone considered an inflated rocker, without a single acting streak. Yes, he was an antagonist with the ability to electricity and an envious suitor in ' Walk, Vasya!' but never impressed. Here, he was able to reveal his acting potential so much that he showed a modern young man, which most young people are. I liked the look. Not a cormorant at all, just a selective guy looking for his way, until he is in the past, thanks to the power of the universe, changes his mind. The main thing is that he returns without affecting future events. The butterfly effect after all.
In my opinion, the most vain, kind image of an investigator in one of the police stations, ready to believe anything in the world (after the collapse of the USSR and still cherishing hope for the return of the former country), I liked more. For him to hear things like that Russians have been hijacked by the World Wide Web, a fingerprint identification of a phone, or that the police will be renamed police in the future is a profound shock, forcing them to take deliberate actions. You can see the hero ... so mired in conspiracies that the effect of the butterfly is not new to him.
Alina Alexeyeva believes that she plays a secondary role. Her role is small, but undoubtedly significant for the plot. The actress performs a young version of Sveta Smirnova. Since from the beginning we don’t know what happened to her husband, and single mothers find it much harder to raise their children and suffer like Cecilia Santos of Isaura’s Slave & #39. Therefore, it is easy to imagine in the example of her heroine how our parents believed in the dreams memorized in ' Santa Barbara' (You should live as your heart tells you'). But while congratulating the children, together with Sasha, it was nice to see how the guy manages with children (with them like dogs). The guy, Sasha, shouldn't have made a presentation in the final. The butterfly effect after all.
In addition to the main characters, there is a funny trio of bandits from the nineties (one of whom noticed during the performance of Sasha on stage that bitcoins need to earn) contribute to the narrative. A good-natured Armenian, giving Sasha from head to toe gifts (of course, not for nothing, but for predictions) and believed, like the investigator in the police, that Sasha is the second Marty McFly.
Everything else: Drawing a parallel between Michael J. Fox and Kurtsin, and indeed these two films, we can safely say that in some ways they are similar. Sasha really isn't trying to bring his parents together so that he's born (he'll be here soon) during a stage congratulation like Marty rattling on a guitar. There is no Dr. Emmet Brown, Sasha, and the doctor himself. But there are dogs, for Einstein's place, at the beginning of the film (and on the poster). And the change of the future - an unusual plot twist, went not according to the usual scheme ' from bad to good future' that is at odds with Back to the Future. I’m not going to tell you how the creators replaced DeLorian. A & #39; Almanac' replaced Sashina with a bad memory. The script is not lame, there are empty spaces, but in the end everything is replaced by good humor and sincerity GG. It was an excellent story.
Impressions: Everyone needs a miracle, no matter in what manifestations, the main thing is that it is. And this miracle happens mostly in children. To which the creators sum up their author's afterword:
Our parents are dedicated to this film. Thank you for giving us life, not giving up and raising us!
A fabulous journey in the past that tried to eclipse the grayness of the days of the present, but, having flashed once, will not light the heart again
Veterinary paramedic Sasha, who appears as a kind of Vanka-fool, by the will of circumstances falls from the present to the nineties. So begins the second film by Antonina Rouget, who gave us a year ago a completely lousy debut “Catch the Moment”. But why remember the past? This time it’s important that New Year’s Eve! represents a highly predictable set of trends in the sitcom that Rouget and her team believe is most timely.
What is the timeliness of the film? What is the reflection of the era in which we live? How does this compare to the nineties?
It's simple. Bekmambetov’s franchise “Yelok” has already outlived itself, new material is needed. Nothing more original than rethinking a thousand times has been proposed. Before us is another vinaigrette, where there are two main components, pathologically hitting the audience.
First, nostalgia. Since you want to interest and reach the largest number of potential viewers, diluting the comedy with a carefree pinch of fiction, manifested in time travel, the last day of 1992 is taken as a basis. This is a special time, which, because of your age, you either still remember more or less well, or older people probably told you about it. Thus, nostalgic manipulation is used, which is not bad, but is an all too obvious sign of the impersonality of the present time. Probably, many will agree: the turning point for the country, the transition from the Soviet Union to the “beautiful far” had enough points of contact with memory to remain in our heads almost the last trigger of the fondly loved past. Maybe ten years from now we'll try to yearn for zeros in the same way, but I suspect there will be a lot less identification. The music is not the same, the interior of the apartments is not the same, even the gopniks are not the same - everything since then seems different, less warm and lamp. And the nineties – yes, there is still a place to walk.
Secondly, another attempt was made to find the most common Russian characters in the characters. The main character, from whom everyone is constantly demanding something, as well as whose behavior in a stalemate situation seems identical to the behavior of the average Russian (if you follow the logic of the creators of the picture), enters the other world to change several destinies in it and change himself. Familiar scheme. His environment from modernity, in turn, is occupied with the most ordinary worldly problems: festive fuss, family vicissitudes, good-natured teasing at each other, and even invest in bitcoins, because it is fashionable and promising. This is a reflection of the end of the tenth years, which we managed to find before the pandemic of the coronavirus (if it is wrong). Boring, banal, unideal, but still a reflection.
Everything would be fine, because the film, following the given guidelines, tries to laugh, and invigorate adventures, and warm the heart with romantic favors. And vulgarity is not particularly to be found, and stupidity, if any, do not catch the eye and seem quite organic, applicable within this plot (where else will you find a time portal through the toilet?!). And for Roman Kurtsyn, in addition to the standard clutter under Vanku-fool, there are already four heart-wrenching monologues at the end: for society, for God, for family and for a loved one. Unfortunately, all of the above does not work as we would like. Only occasionally, in separate fragments, something really funny happens, or, if you like, bright (mainly due to the editing and effort of a very average, but diligent cast). The authors clearly did not expect to jump above their heads, although they did not fall to the bottom either.
The sad fact is that the really worthwhile New Year’s movies seem to have already been made. Or they need to be shot by more professional directors who know other methods of manipulation besides sucking on a nostalgic theme and eternal moralizing in the style of “love is the main thing”. No, no, if there is no choice, "New Year's Day!" is quite suitable for background viewing, while the festive salads are sliced, and champagne is waiting for its time. This is not stuffed with the edge of the "Christmas" with a bunch of ridiculous sequels and an infinity of times "Irony of Fate". There is nothing to be afraid of here, but it is pleasant to be surprised, in principle, also nothing. You can see that the film was filmed exactly to fill the New Year's rental, and for me personally there is more commercial in it than spiritual. Especially when you don’t think about the emotional, when you can easily read the methods of manipulating you and other viewers. Let in some places all this seems to you very pleasant, easy and high, after the end of this illusion you realize that you still want something different. Deeper and more conscious. What will remain in time as a tradition, and not go away with the first cry of a rooster.
I hope that we will return to this in the genre of New Year’s comedies more than once, and in addition to all the memorized clichés, we will find some other ways to create a really good movie for the holidays. In the meantime. So far we have what we have.
The film was featured in HD Film Search, for which I am not grateful. I decided to start watching for the sake of interest, in case this is something normal. At least enough quality to watch the film to the end. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The instinct of self-preservation did not allow me to look, otherwise I would have smashed my forehead from endless facepalms. I didn’t want to waste my nerves on such a movie.
The film is a complete failure. Acting game language does not turn to call such - only curves, no emotions, which is just a scene with the main character in the toilet. What struck me especially was the constant music on the background, and the songs do not change along with the scenes, it is inexplicable at all, blows my brain, all the time I could not understand what was happening with this music. It feels like the person responsible for this has no idea how important the soundtrack is or how it is built. It turns out to be some kind of cutting of videos to music, similar to school graduation videos, the level of drama is sometimes higher than in this “cinema”. The voice of the actors does not coincide with the movements of the lips! This is a Russian film with Russian actors! Obviously, they made a bluff with one take, not really thinking about quality. Heroes all the time in a vacuum, probably music had to fill this void.
The actions of secondary characters do not lend themselves to logic, for some reason everyone around is stupid, unable to think adequately people. And you can not justify the stupidity of the characters by the fact that this is a comedy.
I wasn’t able to watch the film until the end, I guess the main character realized his life, took responsibility, and everything ended well. I don’t think there will be some unexpected ending that will cover all the disadvantages that were before.
The film is not recommended for anyone to watch. Don’t waste time on the cheap.
A good movie to watch for the new year. Would I watch it at some other time? probably not. A classic story about a fallacious and changing the future through the past. Not original, but pretty sweet.
And in & nbsp; shops will be full of abundance. And you can buy everything! Can you imagine? Everything! Besides happiness...
The New Year should be celebrated with a good movie. How much do you risk being disappointed by clicking on play to launch an unknown Russian-made comedy?
As it turns out, you're not taking risks! Courageously, if at the festive time you want to watch a movie with humor, with the notorious New Year atmosphere and an unbanal script.
Many thoughts that sound from the lips of the characters are close and understandable to most people who lived in the 90s. There is no bad mainstream of Russian cinema - the far-fetched romanticism of the "dashing years" is not shown. For that, the atmosphere is transmitted accurately, with the help of locations, costumes and even makeup actors.
Dramatic motives are well conveyed. What were the concerns at the time? Will we bring the Union back? Will Santa Barbara end? Will queues be lost in the shops? The viewer remembers his emotions or the emotions of loved ones, which makes him plunge into nostalgia and empathize with what is happening on the screen.
There were a lot of good jokes, skillfully put into the context of the dialogue. Actors play exactly at the level that is expected in the New Year's comedy.
Perhaps for me this film was a pleasant discovery because I am the same age as the main character Sasha. I understand and understand his problems at the time of viewing. But the most important thing is that after watching the "New Year's Day" remains warm and there is a sincere belief that there will always be moments in life that we will remember the phrase "how good it was": whether it was the dashing 90s, 00s, 10s and other years.
Ideas of iconic domestic and foreign films in the genre of fiction with such a universal and almost painless for the screenwriter technique as moving in time and to this day does not give rest not only to many filmmakers, but primarily to viewers who dream to visit or change the past or find out what awaits us there in the future. “Guest from the Future”, “Back to the Future”, “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession”, “The Butterfly Effect”, “Aliens” is not a complete list of cult paintings about the “fallen” in the past or future.
Sometimes from such a reception come hopeless dystopia ("12 monkeys"), sometimes cruel thrillers ("Cloak", "Time Loop"), somewhere everything can slide into a comedy farce ("Time Machine in Jacuzzi", "Hussar"), and sometimes even go into a dramatic vector ("The Time Traveler's Wife").
The main character Sasha faces three different problems. The first is the girl Sasha Olya, who dreams of a wedding, which he can not afford, since he works only as a veterinary paramedic and cleans the ears of dogs. The second is his parents, who don't support any of his choices, especially that he cleans dogs' ears. The third is Oli's parents, who don't like him because he cleans dogs' ears. On New Year’s Eve, everyone gathers in one apartment, when Olya is going to inform Sasha that she is pregnant. Unable to cope with the tension, the main character locks himself in the toilet, but by pressing the flush, he is transferred to the past, namely, on New Year's Eve 1992.
The creators of “New Year’s Day” made a verified symbiosis and shot the purest, pleasant, sometimes naive romantic New Year’s comedy, where time travel is just a bright excuse to show on the screen a bright, uncomplicated story about correcting one’s and others’ mistakes, mutual understanding between parents and children and, of course, about love, on the background of the New Year for the entire post-Soviet space.
The choice of the era and nostalgic longing for the 90s have recently been actively noticed in domestic films and TV series. “Peace, friendship, gum”, “Bull”, “Crystal”, “Crossness” – it is not surprising, a certain feature is summed up, since since the collapse of the Soviet Union, 30 years have passed and all the current “children of the 90s” begin to reflect, analyze and realize what strange period of life they began to live in this world.
The director Antonina Rouge, who last year was noted for her sweet work “Catch the Moment”, immersed the hero on the eve of 1993, did not make a social manifesto out of her picture, but set out to remove a bright New Year’s picture filled not with vulgar, but with topical jokes, where under the noise of fireworks she, like a child of the 90s, will sincerely thank all parents at once, consonant with our time, the era of perestroika.
This and unconditionally bribes the picture - its sincerity, some soulfulness and most importantly really funny jokes. And, it would seem, the move is worn out, but every reprise said at the end of 1992 is very urgent to our time. I was especially excited about the police.
So what creates an era in a film? Recognisable locations, scenery, appearance and behavior of the characters, but a separate line I will highlight the musical accompaniment – from the screen will be heard “Commissioner”, Yuri Shatunov, “Sweet Sleep”, “Russian size”, Natalie and “Noga brought!” and each of the songs really immerses you in the “that” atmosphere of naive MMM, endless “Santa Barbara” from screens, coupons, pretentious hairstyles and tans.
The cast will also please the eye. Roman Kurtsyn and Alina Alekseeva continues to try themselves in new roles, but most of all I was impressed by Ivan Makarevich - I had a very negative attitude to his work before this role, but then he forced me to reconsider my views. Let the plot in places looks conditional, but it acts exactly so much to beautifully, sincerely and funny to convey the main thoughts of the tape and the New Year mood lost this year.
I assure you, after this picture you will want to love, call loved ones more often and believe that the trouble that is happening everywhere will end and we will survive it. Thank you for a wonderful evening at the cinema.
I can’t imagine a new year without watching a movie. Of course, like everyone else, I am happy to watch the first two (well, maybe three) parts of Home Alone, do not miss Santa Claus with Tim Allen and even can go back to the bath with the heroes of the first Irony of Fate, but it is much more interesting on the eve of the most important holiday of winter to go to the movies. Of course, our cinema is not distinguished by such a number of New Year and Christmas hits as, say, Hollywood, but it is impossible not to admit that periodically at the box office there is a decent festive film that is worth seeing and appreciating. This year, my attention was drawn to “New Year’s Eve!” and the film was just wonderful, and I’m not kidding at all!
Speaking of the plot of the film, it begins shortly before the New Year. And while the whole country is preparing to meet the onset of this cherished time with splashes of champagne and fun, which will last until the morning, our hero Sasha is far from in the best mood. The thing is that he is frankly tired of the fact that someone constantly demands something from him. Well, Sasha is not a great businessman, he works in a veterinary clinic and cleans dogs' ears, but someone must do it too! Not everyone to turn millions and rest in the Bahamas all winter. But even if you're not having fun, New Year should be celebrated with loved ones, because it's a tradition. True, one unusual incident suddenly changes everything upside down and begins an adventure that is definitely worth seeing!
Going to the toilet in 2020, Sasha suddenly transferred to his own apartment, but exactly on December 31, 1992! It is quite understandable that this cannot but surprise our guy, but believe me, his young mother, who thinks that a robber got into the apartment, is no less shocked because of what happened. So now Sasha will have to work hard to get back to the future. And while he did not find a way to go to his native time, he has every chance to pull away in the 90s, when everything was not at all as it is now.
Honestly, I do not remember such unexpected scenes in New Year’s movies. Only the Western “Time Machine in Jacuzzi” comes to mind, but there is its own story, and we have our own, focused on the domestic viewer, who, if not lived in the 90s in Russia, so according to the stories of loved ones, knows perfectly well what time it was. And it, by the way, was not only poor and sad, but also cheerful, breakaway and simply cool. And this comedy will show us how you could celebrate the New Year with smiles on your face even when we did not have smartphones and the Internet. Oh, how I miss that glorious time.
I loved how the film was styled in the 90s with all those high fur hats, funny (by today’s standards) jackets and other details symbolizing the era. I haven't even forgotten about MMM. Of course, this is not the brightest page of our history, but we should not forget about it either. And even better to take and make a good laugh at what is left in the past, because without irony it is very difficult to live, right?
My bottom line: “New Year’s Eve” turned out to be a great film that easily uplifts the mood. If you want to feel the approach of a real holiday, then I advise you not to miss this in every sense of a cool comedy. Good to see you!
