In the 2001 film "Rock Star" with the participation of Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston, the main character is a simple guy, vocal performer, frontman of a cover band that performs songs of the favorite (fictional) rock band Steel Dragon. The action takes place in the 1980s at the peak of the popularity of hard rock. By chance, the hero Wahlberg becomes a hired vocalist of Steel Dragon, which he previously could not dream of. The film is about how fame falls on a person, about the “fire and copper pipes” that the main character experiences. Helps him in this his girlfriend, the incomparable Jennifer Aniston (at the time of the release of the film, the series “Friends” was in full swing).
Mark Wahlberg is a performer of many roles. Mostly a fighter hero. Therefore, to see him as a rocker with long hair, in a slash, etc. is extremely unusual, which, of course, is a plus for Wahlberg.
It is worth noting that Wahlberg himself once began as a musician, or rather a rapper under the pseudonym Marky Mark.
The film perfectly captures the 1980s era. There are a lot of extras – fans, spectators at concerts. Excellent camera work. Separately, it is worth noting an excellent soundtrack, which is written in the style of hard rock of the 1980s. In spirit, the film is close to such films as “Almost Famous” by Cameron Crowe and “Rock for Ages” by Adam Shankman.

From a movie called “Rock star” you expect quite different than you get when watching this picture. There was a female film, too sweet and predictable. You are waiting for the formation of a rock star, powerful personality development, turning points, cruel work on yourself. And you have a light melodrama with a touch of adventure in the style of metal.
As much as rock and roll and love are connected, so much is this movie about love. If the rock band were another city, university, football team, new friends, the idea of the film would not change.
“Do what you think is right and what you want.” Be yourself. – said so banal and open that instead of a two-hour film could be released motivational video.
In the film, only girls and the musical component are good. The banal story does not give grounds for deep reflection on the unfortunate fate of rock musicians, if their fates can be called unhappy at all.
I think this movie is a little naive. In the sense that the heroes do not face sufficiently serious problems anywhere. The problems themselves are like misunderstandings.
For example, Emily accuses Chris of forgetting - just forgetting! - that they had arranged a meeting in Seattle. Although he warned her about a very busy schedule, and she knew about it, why she gave up such a life. But this scene is being presented as some kind of betrayal by Chris of everything and everything.
At the same time, she does not even accuse him of treason - and it does not seem that he cheated on her, despite numerous hints of this in those episodes where fans express a desire to do so. And for a drinking man, Chris looks in too good shape.
Most importantly, the meeting took place, so what’s the problem? If you don’t dig too deep into Emily’s brain, they say, if he forgot about the meeting, then he doesn’t want to see me, especially since it was obvious that this is not the case.
Or, for example, when Chris from the stage says, I'm a normal guy, the posters of this group were hung on my walls, and now I'm one of them - what does he want to say? What is the most important thing in rock music is a career? Don't beat, won't you? He had done it before, and he had done it before. And if the first time he says it sincerely and from the heart (strangely enough), then the next time he seems to be forced to do it – is it really forced? (Incidentally, there is a feeling that the bloody stain on Izzy's face is perceived by him and the audience differently.) For him, it’s like “through the thorns to the stars”; for them, it’s just an illustration of the song. )
Or, for example, the scene in which Chris “calls” to the reception of his idol – I would have, for example, in the place of Chris, the question arises how he even knows about my existence. But the more important question is what purpose the meeting is for. But no, there are no such questions. Only when it turns out that Chris is supposed to replace Bob, he throws some terrible accusations in his face, even though Chris has not even auditioned. It is clear that the conflict is literally sucked out of the finger.
In general, this situation, when the members of the group decide to suddenly get rid of one of the members, is quite ridiculous: the question arises, what is the group? Who is empowered to make such decisions and who is not? Who is the founder and who is the employee? In fact, this is one of the main conflicts of the film. When Chris wants to show songs of his own composition, he is politely refused. And then it turns out that they are not friends, but partners. Ie. Chris all this time did not know who he was touring around the country.
It is clear that the creators of the film freed us from all the background rock music, from the copyright to songs, production, writing (the writing process is always left behind), to expose the conflict between music for the soul and for earning money. On the other hand, if they showed everything as it is, and not just the external side – the feeling that there would be no conflict. In this sense, the film seems quite childish, but it is designed for teenagers.
The funny thing is, in the end, it turns out that rock is a fu, something commercial. And “for the soul” you can only mumble under your nose garage grunge (as if grunge can not be commercial). And Mark Wahlberg does not look at all in the role of a sufferer in the rain - with his ego.
Well, the plus of the film is that the outer side of rock music is shown just fine. And Mark Wahlberg plays well. Yes, he looks very funny as a copycat - at his age. But I like that he doesn’t have any complexes because of who he is (although that can be attributed to bad acting). And the fact that his hero is constantly fighting "for the idea" so to speak (fight at the concert and so on) can not but rejoice.
At the end of the day, he has to show teenagers what will happen if their fanaticism is extrapolated into the future, if their dream “suddenly” comes true, and so on.
Once a young TV presenter from a music channel shared the wisdom – if you want the music of your idols to continue to please you, do not go too deep into their lives, observe the border, then you will not be disappointed. He broke that line, interviewed a member of the Depeche Mode team in detail, and was sadly surprised and disappointed. These are the cakes.
Chris Cole, the main character of this film, is unrealistically fanatic of Steel Dragon, knows all their songs by heart, all the gestures of the team members and even pierces himself with a nipple because the vocalist did so.
When his friends and members of his own "followers" group SD says you need to play and promote your songs, he strongly opposes and insists on performing only the songs of the “great”. Steel Dragon. As a result, he was fired from his own group.
But apparently the universe had its own plans for the talent of Chris and by the will of a happy chance, he gets into the favorite group of his idols and begins to live their lives.
At first, this life seems like paradise, but the more our hero immerses himself in the world of endless tours, concerts, parties, drugs and orgies, the more he realizes that this is not his world. He realizes that he is stuck in this eternal holiday and moves further and further away from himself.
Mark Wahlberg just amazing coped with the role and his character believe in all 100!
The second main role (Chris girls) in the film is played by the star of the series “Friends” Jennifer Aniston. She was at the peak of fame and began acting in feature films. Jennifer is good, even very good. The only nuance is that her character looks a little older than Chris, and somehow more major. If he is informal and rocker, then she immediately traces the qualities and appearance of a businesswoman. It cuts your eyes a little bit.
But otherwise she is beautiful and it is with her help that Chris understands who he is, realizes his inner world, and begins not to be afraid of his potential.
“Rock Star” is a good movie that will make you wonder – do you even need idols? Can you trust your inner source more and pay more attention to the people around you?
Another idea of the film is the transformation of consciousness. If at first Chris sincerely wants to live the life of a rock star, then he realizes that it all has a “dark side of power” and she takes her own life. And the people he worshipped were indeed narrow-minded and down-to-earth. As a result, our hero makes the most difficult choice in life - chooses the path to himself and his development.
I can’t say that the film is deeply philosophical, but the impression leaves a good one and there is something to think about. Plus a lot of episodes with drive rock music, and the actors are cool!
I would recommend watching.
Repeatedly looking through the list of filmography of Mark Wahlberg, deliberately missed the “Rock star”, as not particularly impressed neither description nor genre. But the other day I got to this movie and I didn’t regret it. This is a very easy, but at the same time a life picture, looks in one breath, there is nothing superfluous and nothing stressing.
Chris Cole is obsessed with the work of the rock band Steel Dragon, at night their cover band annealed at concerts. Chris deliberately abandons his personality and believes that he is only good at singing other people's songs than writing and singing his own. But, despite imitating his favorite band, he performs coolly and does not go unnoticed. And when Steel Dragon needs a new vocalist, it will become obvious who their choice will fall on. Moral number 1. Whatever you do, be the best at what you do, and only then can you succeed.
What I first liked about the film was that Chris had a girlfriend, Emily, who was always there for him and was the manager of their cover band. And Chris didn't think for a second about taking Emily with him to the first audition and then the first gig and then the whole tour. And even though their relationship has shaken a lot after the glory that fell on Chris, there was and still is something special, something warm and bright. Such must be true relationships, together in fire and water.
Chris has fulfilled his main dream, but sooner or later everything becomes boring - this is one, and two - life will give you a choice than you are willing to sacrifice, which is more important to you. After all, if you are at the peak of fame, if girls are hanging around your neck, if your photo is hanging on all billboards, it is difficult to keep relationships, stay true to yourself and your loved one, you catch this high and do not think about anything until you finally let go. Here the main thing is to stop in time and understand what you really want and how you see your future. Moral N2. Fame, success and popularity always have their side effects and you need to be prepared for them. When the time comes to choose, make the right decision.
But still, everything puts in its place, priorities change, and if yesterday it was the limit of dreams for you just to get an autograph of your favorite band, not to mention direct participation in it, then tomorrow, in a year or two, this will not be enough for you, and there will be a need for self-realization, in revealing your own individuality, which does not end with singing other people's songs. A creative person is always on the lookout. And if he's just trying to imitate, he'll want to create tomorrow. Morality 3. You can have a lot of idols or just people that you respect and who are an example for you to follow, but you have to find yourself, take the best from these people, but go your own way.
In the end, it is difficult to attribute the film to the genre of “drama”, only if you do not understand human life by drama, in which a priori there are its ups and downs. This is the story of a man who was able to fulfill his dream, but in the end remain true to himself. And I liked the rock direction in this interpretation, it was not a bunch of vulgarity, dirt, and simply put, it was not a lot of sex drugs-and-rocknroll. Rock music is the music of the soul, explosive, emotional, lively. A person who listens to and performs rock simply cannot be empty inside. It is sad that most people who do not understand this kind of music have a stereotypical mindset about rock musicians, that they are necessarily alcoholics, drug addicts and people who have fallen to the bottom. But among the performers of other genres you can find such, so this is more an exception to the rule than the rule.
And Mark Wahlberg was able to convey this direction in music for a hundred, despite the fact that he performed in reality in a band in a completely different genre. This is a truly versatile actor, which is confirmed by many diverse films with his participation. Jennifer Aniston also undoubtedly graced the film - loving, trusting, ready to run to the end of the world for her loved one and able to forgive.
I really liked the end of the movie, and the only thing I thought was that it was one of the few movies you didn’t want to turn off the credits. I would definitely recommend watching.
A very useful film about growling and shackled in metal in the mid-80s.
As the competent languages say, the tape is based on the true story of the vocalist of the rock band Judas Priest, with the then young and skinny Mark Wahlberg and Timothy “yet-no-no-hitman” Oliphant in the lead roles.
An uncomplicated parable, put on hard rock motifs, about how good it is to have a clear goal that must be followed in spite of all failures and in spite of all deaths, but at the same time you need to remember that all achievements have a price, and on the way to a great goal you will have to sacrifice the contents of your heart.
And it can be especially bitter from the fact that the goal of all existence turned out to be a fata morgan, a sweet-voiced Siren, calling your cheerfully plowing the oceans of life a ship full of hopes and ambitions for the sharp reefs of a ruthless and cynical fate.

For some, the personality of Stephen Herek is a cult, because it was he who filmed the very first “Chills” in the not so distant 1986 year, which became an amusing horror comedy for viewers-school children. Three years later, he shot the film “The Incredible Adventures of Bill and Ted”, where you can see the young Keanu Reeves. And after this picture, Herek shoots almost every year and until he came to the screens in 2001, he released quite well-known and much-loved films Don't Tell Mom That the Nanny Is Dead (1991), Power Ducklings (1992), 101 Dalmatians (1996). The person who is familiar with these tapes will notice that all these works can hardly be attributed to dramatic, rather, Herek worked fruitfully in the field of entertainment cinema and, as in the case of "Cubastic", more focused on the children's and youth audience. "Rock Star" became the film in which Herek decided that it was time to try himself in a more serious movie, which it came out.
A young guy Chris Cole nicknamed Izzy (Mark Wahlberg) every evening devotes to his hobby - he is a vocalist in an amateur band, singing the hits of the rapidly popular hard rock band "Steel Dragon". But once in the croup Izzy comes a split and only his girlfriend Emily (Jennifer Aniston) expresses support for him and, as it turned out, for good reason: “Steel Dragon” invites him to audition, they are just looking for a new vocalist and, miraculously, Izzy becomes the new voice of the wildly popular rock band. But after a while, the euphoria fades. The life of a rock idol consists not only of touring, recording new songs, filming in video clips, but also of their accompanying drinking with girls and drugs, brawls and antisocial behavior. Izzy initially takes it for granted, but when he breaks up with Emily, something inside him changes and he has a completely different view of the carefree life of a rock idol.
Stephen Herek is trying to lift the veil of secrecy about how real stars of the rock scene live, but many people have heard about their serious antisocial madness without limits, even those who are extremely cool about rock music. So Herek, as well as the screenwriter of the film John Stockwell (for him in this role, this film remains the best work, all the others either did not come out at all or remained famous for a narrow circle of admirers) only put together the well-known manner of rockers’ behavior and showed it on the wide screen. However, the potential viewer should not be repulsed, because the picture is really whole, high-quality and worthy of viewing. The dramatic line of reassessment of the views of the protagonist on the life of a rock star and his relationship with his beloved girl is also set quite deeply and soulfully, plus harmoniously fit into the overall plot concept and makes it richer, which in turn, naturally, is displayed on the attention and interest of the viewer to what is happening on the screen.
Starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston at the time of filming was 30 and 32 years, respectively. This is a fertile age to prove their worth and claim that they are already ready to play major roles in serious cinema. Both Mark Wahlberg (he is first and foremost) and Jennifer Aniston, with their play in Rock Star, if not all, then the vast majority of critics and viewers prove that their time has come. Mark Wahlberg in general was so similar to a real rock idol that you even wonder if he was really in some amateur band, but as you can tell from the credits, he is a fan of rap and if he had not played so much Izzy, I would have lowered the score for the film, as I myself am a fan of heavy music. Jennifer Aniston played the main female role, but she does not appear on the screen so often, but still she squeezed the maximum out of her character so that the viewer could believe that her feeling for Izzy is real, but she does not want and will not live like the wives of rockers. And Izzy chose the right one. By the way, among some musicians, you can recognize the faces of actors Dominic West, Jason Fleming (the feeling that his image was written off from the frontman of the group “Judas Priest”), Timothy Oliphant, and the manager of “Steel Dragon” was played by Timothy Spall, a good British actor, famous for the Harry Potter franchise.
Fans of films telling about rock music the film must watch immediately. All others, I think, will also be interested in familiarizing themselves with the behind-the-scenes lives of those who have millions of fans around the world, and their songs are being hauled away for quotes. The film is solid, strong, well-coordinated, besides not deprived of the wisdom born of drama. Watch "Rock Star."

P.S.: Searching the expanses of the world wide web, to find a real band "Steel Dragon" failed, although ambitious musicians could use this name and promotion it is already there.
“Rock star” did not pay for itself, and did not collect awards, and in general few people saw it. Who are all those who praise him? Of course, fans of heavy metal, hardrock and Zakk Wild. But that’s the beauty of this movie, because it’s related to metal.
What is metal itself? - Underground. Outcast music. At least that was the case in the '80s. It wasn’t played on TV between pop-star clips, and his parents said it was Satan’s music or thought it sucked and teenage fun, like Chris’ brother. But for millions of teenagers, poster idols were part of their lives and they didn't want to share them with anyone else. Remember what happened in the 90s with Metallica, when Black Album broke the status of the underground and appeared everywhere: radio, TV, younger brother’s player and an idiot from the parallel class. Many fans suddenly realized that their Metallica is not only theirs, and from the mouths of loyal fans, only one word was heard - "Sold". That’s why this film was doomed to become either a cult masterpiece for a crowd of fans, or a pop-gloss “cinema” about hairy guys in skin.
The authors of the film perfectly conveyed the atmosphere of that time, saturated with heavy overload of guitars and an endless flow of heroin and cocaine, and the protagonist on the one hand is a romantic and dreamer, singing in the church choir with his girlfriend Emily, on the other hand a real fan of loud heavy metal and Steel Dgagon, singing with his group in the evenings of their songs in the basement of a porn cinema.
Personally, I consider the most powerful and philosophical scene in the film to be the scene of a conversation between Chris and the manager of the Mets, where he talks about his long-standing love and how he exchanged it for a life of “sex, drugs and rock and roll.”
And the ending of the film, where Chris plays his beautiful and lyrical grunge song with his last band in the club, subtly hints at the musical revolution of the time when Cobain came to replace heavy riffs and solo and dragged millions of people into the world of grunge, for which thank the authors of the film, because it plunges even deeper into the atmosphere of the 80s.

Rock star is a film about a young man named Chris Cole, who is the soloist of the pseudo-group “Steel Dragon”. At one of the concerts of the true "Steel Dragon", the vocalist of the group notices the perfect vocals of Chris.
And here begins the "Star" life of the new vocalist of the group.
In the film there was a rock atmosphere of the 80s: A lot of festivities, alcohol, these goats on each hand, characterized as a sign of approval to the performer. Gulyanka brought to the point that everyone woke up not knowing in what place and surrounded by unfamiliar candid bodies.
The dream of every copycat singer is to be in the place of the singer of your favorite band, to feel this atmosphere, to experience everything on your own skin. And so, Chris is already on the other side of the stage, turns the audience on and he likes it, he wants to perform songs, already his songs again and again.
The companion of the singer gets tired of all these festivities and drinking drinks, she prefers ordinary life, without any strangers, who wants to sleep with Izzy, partying, liters of alcohol and drugs. And wanting to live a quiet life, he goes to Seattle.
After half a year, Izzy gradually gets tired of all these festivities and drinking, and realizes how tired he is of this “Star” life. After finding a replacement, Chris returns to a quiet place. There he forms a new band called Good Machine and starts singing, just this time for himself and his soul.
The film was watched in one breath. I liked the acting, Mark Wahlberg was able to convey the atmosphere of the 80s, that rock era, Jen Aniston played Chris’s beloved well, which could not but please.

The question of stardom is a second plan question for a real rock musician. He receives recognition from the people, they consider him an idol, an idol, a rock star. A true rock artist will never say he is a star because it will be too pompous and pop. The stars should shine for people.
Rock star. A big enough title for one of the dullest and sweetest rock music movies I've ever seen. First, for such a film, the title "Metal Fan" is much more suitable, well, or something like that. For "rock music" and "metal" are completely different informal vegetables from different musical gardens.
Metal music is the same, standard and repeatable. There is no tragedy of Kurt Cobain. No aggression Slipknot. There is no Marilyn Manson show. No melancholy Radiohead. There is no sadness The Cure. There's a lot of things missing. None of the metalworkers were put in a psychiatric hospital for their songs, like Yegor Letov. None of the metalworkers was accused of anti-political texts, like Konstantin Kinchev. Never have metalworkers been asked about Vyacheslav Butusov, why are you called Nautilus Pompilius, and what is it?
They have everything in the title is quite banal - either something steel, or something black. Here and here Stephen Herek decided to make a story about the boy vocalist and the band “Steel Dragon”.
Mark Wahlberg is not the best actor for this role. Movements and concert poses of a metal singer are not enough. And you don’t have to be a metal fan to be plausible enough to convey this image to the audience. Val Kilmer was hardly a fan of The Doors, although he played Jim Morrison amazingly. I doubt that Gary Oldman was a punk fan to play Sid Vicious so accurately in Sid and Nancy that the film was called half documentary.
Rock stars are born and die. Metalists only become and rust. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll? No, it's not here. It's too bright and fun. Everything is too simple - tight leather pants on the naked body and a group with the banal name "Steel Dragon". Only for metalworkers.
"Rock Star" is a bright musical film, which has both drama and comedy, and the film turned out to be high-quality and worthy of attention, because its budget is 57 million dollars. I liked this movie because the main roles were played by beautiful and beloved actors, and the film itself looks in one breath and takes one kid into an incredible dream story.
We see how the main character is fond of heavy music and imitates his favorite band with his friends, but soon his dream comes true and the impossible happens, and he is invited as a soloist to a group he loves more than life, and he is waiting for incredible prospects and something unexpected and incomprehensible, for which he was not ready and a new world opened before him.
The main role in this big budget musical film is played by Mark Wahlberg. He is an interesting, talented actor and a charming man, and I love movies with his participation, especially if he has a leading role in them, and therefore I watched this movie with pleasure. The actor played well and looked worthy in the lead role. There's something about Mark Wahlberg that's clean and attractive that makes him such a nice and beloved actor. The beautiful and charming Jennifer Aniston in this film is incredibly sweet and sensual, and she holds everyone’s attention without a doubt. The star of the series “Friends” I really like and I always willingly watch movies with her, so the duet of the main actors I liked and remembered well.
Rock Star is an American musical drama that shows us the ups and downs of the protagonist, and how easy it is to lose a dream and forget yourself in a world of madness and permissiveness. The film was not bad, and I think it deserves the attention of the audience and a positive assessment. His story is interesting and filmed it is well, in places there is comic, there is also drama, and everything is of course saturated with music, which makes this film so bright and original.

“The world does not fit into logic. We think we know life, but life always surprises us. ?
Chris Cole was an ordinary guy who worked as an office plankton during the day, and in the evening with friends played the songs of his favorite band “Steel Dragon”. Everything suited him quite well, but only the guys in the group wanted to move on, and not be mere imitators. As a result, their group falls apart, and Chris and his girlfriend are left alone. But one day he gets a call and is asked to become the soloist of his favorite band!
Chris and Emily get into the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll, and our hero has to understand: is this really what he dreamed of?
An ordinary biographical story, which took place in real life with a good cast. Here is Mark Wahlberg, who is more familiar to see as an action hero. And the star of comedy romcoms Jennifer Aniston, as well as Timothy Spall, whose audience can remember the role of Tail from the films about “Harry Potter”.
All these actors coped with their task, and looked in their images very harmonious and convincing. Another thing is that the script came in the middle hand, although if you look at the picture as a whole, you could make a rather dramatic story. And so the whole film turns into a predictable fresh action, which pulls on its shoulders the already mentioned acting and good musical accompaniment.
If we talk about the film in a nutshell, then come to mind: light and pleasant – this is how you can describe the picture as a whole. After watching "Rock Star" does not cause any emotions, because there are no dramatic moments in the film, and the fact that there is, the director did not give any "sharp". The film is exactly for one view, and it quickly wears out of my head.
His Majesty is heavy metal, unrestrained and melodic “hard”, an untimely bygone era of tattooed torsos and long “hairs”, tight leather pants and failed eyes, bright makeup and eternal drunkenness, drugs and sex.
To tell about the time long past took the director of the film “Rock star”.
Chris "Izzy" Cole is a carefree fan and a desperate fan of the insanely popular heavy metal rock band Steel Dragon. As a loyal follower rather than a copycat, in Chris’s words, he subordinates the entire existence of his own band to copying “dragons” in the manner of dressing, talking and singing. Hard restrictions, no improvisation and no freedom completely kill the creative atmosphere. And disagreements are not long in coming. The next concert ends with a fight on stage. The next day, Chris was “asked”, with him left and the manager of the group, a loyal colleague and girlfriend Emily.
Life turned into a fifth point, comrades betrayed. But a sudden morning phone call changes your life forever. The place of yesterday's idol is vacant, and there is a chance to climb Olympus. A simple guy's dream came true. Izzy is in charge again!!
However, behind the scenes life is fraught with many dangers. Random connections, drugs and the crazy life of a rock star can pretty much spoil both physical and moral state. In addition, Chris is just a pocket vocalist, whose strings are skillfully pulled.
What's the movie really about? About the musical trend of the 80s, the layer in the history of rock music, the atmosphere of drive, irrepressible energy and theatricality. His Majesty's reign of metal. About creative plans and disagreements, about what it means to be a rock star. As creativity fades into the background of fame and universal worship, songs are written to the blueprint, and freedom is lost. When there is nothing left but pathos and created image.
"Rock star" pleases bright actors and excellent musical parts. Mark Wahlberg is always great, as is Jennifer Aniston. To say that the film is deeply dramatic would be an exaggeration. This is a retrospective of the past, interesting and entertaining. There is no creative search and torment of the musician.
It is also interesting that the true story of Tim “Ripper” Owens vocalist “Judas Priest” is at the heart of the plot. I also liked the appropriate comparison of the creative search and choice of Chris with the change of musical eras of rock music. When the theatrical "hard" was replaced by depressive and thoughtful "grunge".
Idols go away, eras change, and only the image of a divine rock star is eternal. Because it's rock 'n' roll, baby!!

The film dragged on from the very first minutes with its simplicity and, perhaps, vitality. The life of an average young man playing in his group in the outback and dreaming of becoming a star, his relationship with his family and beloved girl is shown accurately, without pathos, playfulness and saliva. The lucky chance that he ended up in a well-known and beloved band by thousands of fans also didn’t cause the “I don’t believe” reaction, as I know a similar example in real life. Well, the very life of rock stars... Of course, it was not without Hollywood intervention, but the general outline of their lifestyle, the film, I think, reflected – life turned inside out and shown accessible, not very vulgar, but at the same time thought-provoking language. If you want to get behind the scenes, this movie is for you.
Another successful point in the overall standings is the beautifully played ideas of cyclicality and a vicious circle of the entire industry. A great way to look at yourself and understand your mistakes. The main thing is to see the lessons that life teaches you and draw the right conclusions.
The film touches on another eternal theme – love (and where without it?). Honestly, I do not believe that such a relationship is possible in life. Maybe the times aren’t right, or maybe Hollywood is overdoing it. A beautiful fairy tale about loyalty, mutual understanding, mutual respect, feelings that do not pass over the years. Yes, you will not find such a thing in life, but you want to strive for it. However, it is better to strive for this in relations with ordinary guys ("Love, girls, simple romantics"), all admirers of artists should watch this film and think - and whether they need the happiness to which they so strive.
A separate “bravo” to the creators for the great idea that runs through the film – you need to be yourself, always, everywhere, do not lose yourself and your face, remember that you are a person. It was encouraging to see that the main characters of the film gradually came to this. I want to believe that in real life people are able to understand how, according to what laws, according to whose scenario they live.
The film turned out to be multifaceted, and each of the faces is shown beautifully and believably.

Mark Wahlberg has played stars many times in his career. First a porn star, a couple of sports stars. I think he’s also a rock star. And the film is called, simple and unobtrusive.
It was weird to start watching. After all, before becoming an actor, Wahlberg was a musician for a while. I mean, a singer. And he didn't sing, he read. Marky Mark was a rapper. And there's hard rock singing!
To some extent, he is a unique actor. He is not afraid to break any boundaries. It's just his job. Perhaps a little like the postulates of William H. Macy. Come on time, know the text, stand in the right place, and at the end of the day hang clothes in place. And all this together with "frigging." But we should not forget about his selfless work on the film “The Fighter”. So we can say that Mark Wahlberg is a real actor.
He played well. Long hair and a ringing voice. If it was real, then just don't say anything else. Just show a complex rock figure of five fingers (more precisely, two).
Jennifer Aniston showed character. And grace. She became an ordinary girl who suddenly changed her lifestyle. But it proved difficult to do and was worth a lot of effort. So she just went home and started living her life.
The film, according to the title, looks easy and unobtrusive. Everything happens quickly. It starts quickly and ends also. You just can't get tired of watching. Although many rock bands stick together and perform for decades. You can still see them on stage.
The main character is a man who didn’t want too much. Just playing the songs of your favorite band. Nothing more. Then he gets a good chance. He doesn't miss it. Having gone through this, it is impossible not to change. He's changed. But for the better.
