"It's time to pay the bills." . . I haven't been here in a long time, almost a week. But, against my will, I was sick. Of course, I rarely get sick (once a year in all, when the seasons change either in spring or autumn), but, as they say, aptly. If I'm sick, at least a week and "lie in bed." But that's the lyrics. I finally came here, so I'm going straight to the review.
After watching this movie a number of times, I realized that I would not be able to write about it seriously. The heart says one thing, and the mind quite another.
The plot is briefly described in the abstract, it fully corresponds to everything shown in the film. I admit, “from the doorstep” – I am far from enthusiastic about the film as a whole. And, above all, thanks to the genius game of Mithun. It sounds strange, but it is! If he wasn’t so talented, maybe I’d have seen the film more favorably. It turned out that I was shocked by the dissonance between the level of the game Mithun and the actual film work. Still, the main idea of this film is not as voluminous as, say, in the case of "The Executioner". Hence the plot moves, coupled with expressive means ... Maybe that’s why “Om Puri” couldn’t feel “at his plate.” From the very first meeting of the heroes until the finale of Om Puri, he constantly played the role of a rabbit shaking in front of a boa... The same can be said about Gulshan Grover (Kartar Singh). Little school looks like his arrival to Dushyant. Well, they have different weight categories, what can you do? Mithun played GENIAL, and thus almost drowned the film ... However, on the other hand, I want to watch it again and again to enjoy its amazing skill. The scale of his personality and acting skills require at least an equal partner. Thus, my attitude towards the film is twofold: on the one hand, as a work as a whole, I do not like it very much; on the other hand, I received untold pleasure from the amazing performance of Mithun!
The first thing that shocked me was the scene in the pool after Dushyant allegedly saved Puja from the bandits. The scene is more than traditional and even vulgar. But her finale. Remember when Puja ran up to the Savior and snuggled up to him? So here's the face that Mithun had at the time. I just felt his condition with my skin at that moment, only Mithun is capable of this.
Next, the scene with Varna Raj (the girl, because of whom, in fact, and planted Dushyant). His facial expressions! “And then you will cry and say, ‘Please let me go!’” One memory gives me goosebumps. I think this is one of the strongest moments of the movie! And the eyes Dushyant, when he saw the phone number dropped from the purse of the bait girl. It's an instantaneous transformation! Awesome!
I'm not talking about the final! It's his "Go, go!"... it's incredible how Mithun manages to reincarnate like this! He turned evil inside out in this film, demonstrating its terrible essence! I can’t even imagine what it would feel like if the film was on the right level! Perhaps it is even good that he does not “reach” in all parameters to the bar set by Mithun. Yes, in fact, before us was not Mithun, but the most embodied Evil! He immersed us, the spectators, in the very anatomy and physiology of this phenomenon, imagining not even an animal, but an incarnation of the Prince of Darkness. His close-ups... Empty eyes... And then the culmination is the confidence in the indestructibility not only and not so much of oneself as of evil in general. And he goes away, also in that confidence. That's what's really scary! After all, the film, in fact, does not give a person hope, a lumen in the all-consuming darkness.
But I am only enjoying the work of Mithun! I'm fascinated by the process. The transition from one state to another is happening before our eyes! Yes! I don’t even have an adequate definition of what we see on the screen!
But at the same time, this hero causes pity. I'll explain. The contrast between what is now and what it was seven years ago is striking. After all, he was an incredibly attractive person, absolutely free! How did he enter Aruna’s office and sit down uninvited? The paradox of the situation lies in the fact that, in an attempt to gain freedom through revenge, this unfortunate man narrows the already tight confined space more and more. The only difference is that from now on the prison cell became for him a thirst for revenge.
"Uninvited Guest" is a remake of Hollywood "Cape of Fear". From Mithun I expected something similar to what Robert Deniro once embodied. After all, such behavior would be more than logical: charming, kind, just a “cloud in pants”! Therefore, I was shocked by the behavior of the hero Mithun! He hardly smiles! There is no “intention” in his actions! Hence, not only the heroines of the film, but also the viewers have a feeling of authenticity of everything that is happening, so to speak, the “accident” of all events. But all this is nothing more than an embodied plan! Mithun does not behave as it should! That's right, and [b] Mithun [b]! That is, not that to complain, and even reproach him with nothing! This is his role in the full sense can be called a masterpiece, but not the film as a whole!
Of course, poor Raj Sippi did not plan that everything would turn out to be a total victory for evil. He just didn't figure out how to direct! He could not cope with the acting power Mithun! Not only do all the characters of the film capitulate to this monster, but the director (by definition, the king and god of any film work) also signs his incompetence! He let this URAGAN named Mithun Chakraborty destroy himself as a professional! And in the case of "Uninvited Guest" the actor Mithun Chakraborty literally destroyed the director Raja Sippi! The mistake Sippi was that he rejoiced at the possibilities of Mithun, instead of being properly frightened! Raju had to weigh everything and realize the cosmic scale of the actor he was commissioned to bring evil to life! And it is not surprising that the viewer has a feeling of ineradicability of darkness, its inevitable victory over light!
Mithun is a genius, and in this film he gave an outlet to his amazing energy, as they say, to the full program! This movie, in my opinion, ruined it! No, I can't help but remember the ending. It's a gradual realization that he's about to get what he's been striving for for so long... tremendous! It is useless even to try to limit the limits of some definitions - this cosmos! It is something that has no name, only a feeling of infinity. Once again I was convinced that "Mithun plays more truthfully than others live"
