A true love story is like a river; it has a beginning but no end. Two people meet once and never part. Their bond is inseparable because it is intangible. It cannot be replaced or eclipsed, because it is like the sun that illuminates our lives every day, even if the sky is covered with clouds.

New York in the early 90s of the 20th century. Gus works as an electrician and meets up with cute and sexy nurse Rita. He has four colleagues and together they decide to renovate and start the old bowling alley. Each of them must make a monetary contribution to the common cause. But Gus is constrained in funds, as he has already taken out a loan for the study of his wife Leonora and still pays her alimony. Friends suggest a way out of the situation - to find Leonora a new husband and relieve Gus of the monetary burden.
Gus (Matt Dillon) may not be a perfect man, but a good and reliable man. He loves friends who are like a second family. He is not only a professional electrician, but also a master of all trades. He loves and cares about his loved ones. The only thing that prevents his happy life is his ex-wife.
Leonora (Annabella Shiorra) is a kind, charming young girl who loves to learn new things and is in a frivolous relationship with her teacher. She wants to travel around the world, but for now she is in college and works in the Botanical Garden.
As you can see, Gus and Leonora are quite different people. Perhaps their marriage, as well as the divorce, which the authors of the story behind the scenes, was a consequence of their youth. But the real feeling - love - can overcome any difficulties. Obviously, the differences and differences between Gus and Lee lie only on the surface, and inside their hearts continue to reach out to each other, and the chemistry between them is felt from the first meeting. No other person can become a new love for each of them, because the former is still alive.
Mr. Miracle is a little-known gem in a sea of popular romantic films. The story takes place in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - New York, which paints the plot in wonderful colors. Characters are ordinary people whose happiness lies not in money, but in a quiet family life with the same friends. The events are accompanied by beautiful lyrical music, in which romance, hope and dream are felt.
The picture does not claim the laurels of the masterpiece and do not expect stunning impressions and unexpected turns from it. Its value lies in the kindness and sincerity of the relations of ordinary people, and their true love.
Great cast: Matt Dillon, Annabella Shiorra, Mary-Louise Parker, William Hurt, Vincent D'Onofrio, David Barry Gray, Dan Hedaya, Bruce Kirby, Louis Guzman, and James Gandolfini. They are so well-chosen that their characters look like one big family, and during the denouement it is difficult to give preference to anyone, because everyone deserves happiness.
“Mr. Miracle” is a wonderful kind film, which over the years has turned into an atmospheric movie.

There is not much money. Don’t you know Gus, an ordinary electrician from New York, who decided to invest with his friends in opening his own bowling alley. But where does the money come from when Gus is forced to pay monthly child support to his ex-wife. This burden will continue until she gets married again and Gus decides to correct this mistake.
The whole essence of such pictures in Hollywood can be summed up to a single denominator: being in search of personal happiness and a soul mate, you should not dig too deep and dig the ground with your nose, but only need to look at those who are very close. And, of course, the picture of Anthony Minghella among them. And just like other representatives of this genre, suffers from the same problem and its name is predictability. Even unsophisticated in viewing such tapes, the viewer can easily predict the end of the story. It's obvious. But perhaps the authors did not aim to surprise us, but simply wanted to tell a beautiful fairy tale within the framework of long-established film standards. In any case, it is not the form that is important here, but the content, with which everything is not so joyless and hopeless here, as it might seem at first glance.
This film has long lost the romance of Hollywood cinema of the 80s and 90s: lyrical compositions perfectly fall on an impressive and pleasant to the eye video sequence: a summer New York blazing with juicy colors; a car stream tirelessly flowing along the Brooklyn Bridge in the light of the pre-sunset sun; parks and reservoirs along which the characters walk, constantly clarifying relations with each other. All this makes New York not just a place of action, but one of the full and key characters of the film. However, this is a purely dialogue film – the main characters constantly solve their problems in the context of emotional outbursts and conversations. But much more amusing are the scenes with blind dates, of which, unfortunately, there are few. And it's in moments like this that it all depends on the actors and their skill. Dillon is young, energetic and persuasive, and Annabella Shiorra is charming and insanely attractive. Beauty in combination with femininity and charm in this actress is simply off the scale. It's impossible not to fall in love with her. In the background is also a whole ensemble of strong lyceums – Louis Guzman, William Hurt, James Gandolfini, Vincent D’Onofrio and Mary-Louise Parker. Everyone here is in their own place and is not a hack.

The picture of Anthony Minghella in any case does not pretend to be a masterpiece or laughter to colic in the stomach, and will not leave a noticeable trace in the world film industry. That's not the case. Before us is a simple and concise movie that will warm the soul and leave a pleasant aftertaste with its romance and kindness.
