Life likes to make adjustments. The world is not a good place. But that doesn’t mean we should stop enjoying life. You have to accept it like a movie hero. Frank lives in the car. I must say that he is not a drunkard, not an alcoholic, and it is difficult to call him a vagabond. An intelligent person in a difficult life situation, lives. Just living, accepting the cramped conditions, not experiencing anger or remorse. Frank humbled himself and found a comfort zone, even in some overly humble version. But anyway, the more we see Frank, the clearer it becomes, he's just that kind of person by nature. But with a strong temper. And his car, not a bungalow on wheels, but a clean habitat, with all the comforts.
Case of chance, acquaintance with a similar friend by accident, years younger and with a hobby dangerous. A heroin lover, a naive idiot, and by another guy you can not name, become a friend to Frank, and from his bell tower instills in him a taste of life and his worldview. Frank at the same time starts from a dead pedestal, killing his everyday infantility, takes the first steps, away from the usual car cabin.
Cold brothers, and two warmer and not so sad, and you can not say that the characters are discouraged. Here the view is not on tragic natures, although yes, the heroine is the place to be, but with him obviously everything is clear, the central figure is Frank, and his path to harmony and happiness.
A very original drama, the remarkable thing is that the good is promoted painlessly, leaving the black woman and realities somewhere behind the scenes, and if they are, then smoothing out sharp corners as much as possible. I did not want to shoot about the gloomy everyday life of European hobo, made a kind and human film about the problem of relationships and kindness. A kindness that does not fade from the heart despite all the poor housing conditions and social inequality. And as a kind Frank initially sets up for a simple-minded narrative. Even the tragic message of interaction with a drug addict looks very bright, and reveals the essence of Frank’s soul and inner world. And this world is broken by the usual blackness for such films. There is no particularly emotional intensity, the finale is somewhere predictable, but the atmosphere of selfless human kindness is observed on a firm five, with the usual European flavor.
Our lives can change in a second. This is all too well known to the characters of the film: Fred, and Catal, and Jules. But if you used to be a good person, Providence sends you a saving reed. For some, this cane can be, for example, a cat, as in the book “Street cat named Bob”. And for Fred, Catal was the second chance. A boy drug addict, half his age, was able to show him real life, to bring him out of the “shady forest”, to teach him to dive into this life with his head. After meeting such people, you regret only one thing: often for them you can not become the same second chance.
Colin Morgan in this film reveals another facet of his acting. A young boy who feels this life too keenly, who sees details too well, who loves too much. He needed the help he even asked for. He lacked only the recognition of his son and friend. But a callous or simply afraid of difficulties, the father does not understand and does not accept him, and Fred does not have time to understand everything that lies behind the soul of his young friend.
And Colin's voice is really wonderful.
Colm Mini - actor with experience and charisma. Remarkably embodied in life the image of a man who “half-way through earthly life” suddenly found himself “in a gloomy forest”. And I did not understand how he got there, and I did not understand how I managed to pass half my life, and I did not understand the main thing in this life. There are many, very many such people as Colm’s hero, the more interesting it is to look at the development of the character.
Milka Arlot - charming and cautious. Her character is in many ways similar to the hero Colm. She lost herself after her husband's death and lives by inertia without any interest in life. He only realizes himself after meeting a strange couple.
The film is very beautiful camera work, careful attention to detail, wonderful Irish landscapes that you can admire for a long time. Beautiful music accompanying each character.
In fact, I really liked the movie. In spite of the sharpness of themes rising in it, it is easy, pleasant, not overloaded. The film leaves a slight sadness, but also gives hope.
Why did the film remain lightweight? I think because the author doesn’t show us the past of the characters, he didn’t get into the image of the psychological wilds that brought Fred and Catal to life in the parking lot. We are given heroes here and now, and we are shown how a person can change his life, expand the horizons of consciousness, not relying on his past, but changing himself in the present.
Parked is a movie that is definitely worth watching. It will not leave you indifferent and will not make you regret the time spent.

The life of this world, having passed to half, you found yourself in a dark forest, having lost your way in the valley.
Sometimes it is scary to do something new, although others say that it can be done forever, getting an unforgettable experience for a lifetime.
For Fred, it's a pool jump. He wants to, but he can't get the courage. Fred - the main character of the picture, in adulthood became a homeless man living in a parking lot in a car next door to a drug addict Catel. Fred has the patience not to give up.
And Catel? That neighbor is a drug addict. Who is he really?
Where are you washing?
- In the toilet.
- Have you ever tried a swimming pool?
Throughout the film, it seems that right now, at this point, Catel is going to do something bad, after all, because it's so common for people to choose the dark side. And him? He swings flat tires to show Fred the joys of extreme driving, he talks about beauty, music, nature with the inherent romance of his soul, he does not sell his father’s watch for his debts, even being on the verge of death. Cathel is fireworks. It’s just as bright, beautiful, and one who doesn’t burn for long. Enough bright light and burning heat to see, admire and remember always.
Juze is a woman from the very pool where Fred still can't muster the courage to jump. Her life is on a turn, too. She lives in a big house alone, in a house where the hours after her husband's death have stopped.
She just gave a drug addict and a homeless person a cup of tea at home!
- Never underestimate yourself, Cathel (c)
The film is a must-see for those who never give up, who never stop hoping. Or for those who have given up and stopped believing. It doesn't matter. The important thing is that the film will definitely put everything in its place, and do not be ashamed of your emotions, and they will definitely spill out, believe me.
What will help Fred? New love, state system, friends? After all, everything was not accidental, and these people he met for a reason, they all said something to him in their own way. I thought Fred heard them. I heard a splash of water in the pool. Did Fred really jump?

Just because someone is blaming you, pushing you away.
I found out about this movie by accident. After watching Merlin, I was very interested in actor Colin Morgan. Among all his works, I somehow singled out this picture. The description alone caught me, but it also deceived me. I was hoping for a completely different ending, and as the film progressed, hope did not fade, but only increased. But it turned out differently - and that's the depth of this film. This picture catches from the first frames and then more and more pulls into viewing. There are quite ironic moments here, both lyrical and very sad. All of this is done in one film.
Top-level acting. Colin Morgan is an incredibly talented actor. He played his role phenomenally. A very unusual character Catal - on the one hand a drug addict, but on the other - a man with a delicate nature, a romantic. Colm Mini, also known to me from the role of Colum from the TV series Scarlett, also coped with his role perfectly. There's something invisible in this tape that keeps you on the screen, that touches you to the core. This is the story of two drowning people, when one pushed the other to the surface, knowing that he no longer has a chance to swim. Gentle music, incredible landscapes of the country of elves and volcanoes and a talented game. Here’s what I can say about this film. It is definitely worth watching, and I am even in some ways offended that this picture is so little popular. A story in the spirit of Hachiko.
Despite the fact that the finale made me cry and in general the feeling of watching was heavy, literally three hours later, I again wanted to watch the film, to relive these emotions. The aftertaste of this film remained pleasant, albeit with bitterness, as after grapefruit. Therefore, the assessment for such work is appropriate - the highest score.
And I think that I am going to a place, where I am always high
Unfortunately for those who do not know English, there are no subtitles for this film, as well as Russian dubbing.
But everyone else has the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of Ireland, the charming accent and the play of Colin Morgan.
The movie is worth watching for the atmosphere. Very much attention is paid to the little things - the color of the sky, the gust of wind, and it seems to be an art house, but it looks much easier than it.
Music. Here, each hero corresponds to a certain piano composition, which only adds charm.
I don’t want to write much, I’m afraid to drop a spoiler and ruin the whole viewing, because the whole film is one whole, the details are secondary characters, revolve around the main character, but suddenly you don’t know who is in charge. Catal? Jules? Dragdealer? Others I won’t mention so as not to reveal secrets?
Separately, it is worth noting the operator’s work. Even those who have never been to Ireland will feel the fresh wind and smell of leaves while watching.
Do you want to know if you want to see it? Watch. You won't regret it. Well, if only, maybe, about the fact that the Irish accent is quite difficult to understand: D
Have you ever seen the actual moment when the leaf breaks from it's branch? It's, uh, it's a beautiful thing.
