This painting is heartbreaking. It can touch all the strings that you definitely wouldn’t want to touch.
This is a story about a mentally retarded man who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He went to prison for one of the worst crimes. The most precious thing he has is his little daughter. The only person he understands.
Exploiting almost the same theme as The Green Mile, Lee Hwang Gen’s work delivers an incredibly dramatic story in very light tones. The people in cell seven are extremely friendly, and so are the prison guards. And the color palette itself does not dispose to the dark scale almost never.
All the most terrible and difficult events of the film are shown from the position of childish naivety. This makes the job more difficult.
Probably " The miracle in cell number seven will make you cry, so emotionally.
"Keep love in your heart." A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead
How often we wait for a miracle, look for it in the world around us, forgetting that true magic is stored in our heart and soul.
A mentally retarded single father is filled with that pure devotional love for his daughter that his inner light becomes a salvation for those who have given up on themselves long ago, taking the shameful label. The main character does not preach anything, does not impose, but simply loves his little daughter, who for him is not more expensive than life, but a whole life. The cruel soulless system grinds everything in its path, but the only thing it is capable of is taking the body, without the possibility of reaching the soul, which will continue its path through love.
In the film, three people lose their child. A high-ranking official loses his daughter, a prison chief loses a child, and the main character loses his daughter, ending up in prison. The pain of loss is so often blinding that a person is completely immersed in the endless cycle of revenge in his head, without thinking that he himself is embarking on a more terrible path of evil. Revenge feeds selfishness, lifts it to heaven, creating the illusion of complete loneliness in this world, because only in this way you can blindly and painlessly destroy those who seem guilty. The only paradox is that the official uses all means to destroy the main character, not realizing that he condemns only his soul to eternal imprisonment and emptiness.
The comical cartoon image of the prison in the film clearly reflects the absurdity of the entire prison system and its inefficiency. If we take the image of the protagonist as a metaphor, it will immediately become clear that it is not walls and punishment that change criminals, but their internal transformation, which is always more difficult to achieve than hitting them on the back with a stick. The criminals, who were together with a single father in the same cell, have long forgotten about their humanity and accepted the rules of the game in the cycle of cruelty. The little girl and the naive pure love of her father did not change the criminals, but helped them remember what lies behind their inner darkness. The sun always stays behind thick black clouds, waiting for its hour of appearance. The miracle in cell N7 was created by each of the prisoners himself, allowing himself to be a man forgotten by everyone.
The happy ending is not in the absence of loss, but in the cessation of the race for the ghosts of pain and suffering within us.

She will remember this day for life. A huge crowd of people surrounded the scene. Some uniformed men hold her father's hands and lead to a mannequin on the pavement. “Show me what you did to her! Kiss her! Now take off your underwear! - Dad obediently follows all the instructions of cunning policemen, stripping the doll and not understanding what all these people want from him. "Take off your pants," says the police officer, "take off and we'll let you meet your daughter." Mentally retarded Yong Gu believes and hastily unbuttons his belt. Suddenly, people run out of the entire wataga surrounding the crime scene shouting “Bastard, murderer!” We need to get the suspect to a safe place. Little Ye Sen sneaks into her father's arms and falls into his arms. How long will this time last when they can calmly stand and hug like this, not paying attention to the hustle and bustle around them? Minutes, seconds? Ye Sen doesn’t know the answer to this question, but she does know that it’s not Dad’s fault and that the ending of this sad story should end on a positive note. She knows that.
Against the background of human indifference, a real tragedy is played out. A loving father is robbed of the most precious thing he has. But who really cares about that? The commissioner whose daughter died in the accident, who decided there was no need to investigate because it was clear? The inmates of the prison that Yong-gu ended up in, seeing only articles about the rape of a minor in the documents and ready to beat the mentally retarded for it? Maybe the warden, whose memory of his dead son only makes him hate the prisoner "5482" more? What does it matter to them that all the evidence screams at this man's innocence? So how then can the hero live his remaining days in this atmosphere of hatred and indifference, if he is completely alone?
Jon lives with his daughter. Every minute with her is a joy for him. It is impossible not to feel this love in any way. Yes, he is stupid and unpredictable, but his love is so strong that you imbue him with the deepest respect. And the most interesting thing is that the prisoners also came under the influence of this love after a while: a little girl awakened in them tender feelings that they had long ago, as a child. Is it necessary to say that the father is ready to do everything to make his daughter happy? I note that, despite the fact that the fate of a mentally retarded father is shown, such warm feelings apply to absolutely all men. Prisoner "7837", for example, also misses his child, who, by the way, is just going to be born.
Soon, all the prison staff begin to share the grief of Jon, whose sentence is the death penalty. The warden, who used to despise the main character, now asks to reconsider the case at all tops, all the prisoners no longer look at the slandered father with contempt, and many even help build a balloon for his escape. Love always wins, it embraces not one particular person, but all those who are close to him. Yon Gu's feelings were so strong that they made even the most persistent cry.
Although the picture begins as an obvious comedy with interspersed drama, by the middle it becomes more serious. Jokes and gags go away - there are scenes of the separation of father and daughter, so reluctant and violent, as if they are trying to tear the whole in half. Laughter turns into crying, but you still believe that the glorious finale is about to meet you and complete this wonderful encounter with the picture. Light colors permeate the movie from beginning to end. In this tape, despite the seriousness of the situation, there is almost no rain - and the sun warms from the inside, as warmed the feelings of Yona Ye Sen. Smooth camera movements only emphasize the tenderness and purity of the picture, as if one awkward movement will destroy this idyll in the souls. Su Van Kal, the girl who played Ye Sen, was flawless in this film. Every tear from her eyes did not pass by, every cry of her constantly led to a state of stupor. We can say that you keep the whole dramatic part on it, despite the impeccable play of Seung-ryong, who played the role of the father - because of this duet, faith in everything that happens does not fall for a second. We get a meaningful work without any drawbacks - it is simple, but brilliant.
How many stories were there about a mother’s love for her child? But now let’s look at the love of a father, because it is no weaker. In their attempts to make films about a parent and their child, filmmakers often forget about one important part: the soul. It is extremely difficult to invest your soul in such tapes, it is almost impossible to convey all feelings fully. But Lee Hwang Kyung invested his soul and created characters that one wants to believe in, people who, despite the arbitrariness of the authorities and other obstacles in life, continue to move forward, proudly raising their heads. Maybe many people consider such people as eccentrics, not far away, but for Hwang Ken this is a real example of how to live and relate to life.

Sometimes there are peculiar films that initially do not portend anything good and interesting, and then pleasantly surprise closer to the final. This is exactly the case. At first, you perceive a negatively specific Korean sense of humor. I didn’t want to laugh at the weak mind at all. The image of the main character was absurd and overly caricatured, ranging from his constant wacky remorse and mad laughter to the idiotic hairstyle, which did not cause doubts about his mental retardation. But in the plot of this crazy fool is sentenced to death for a crime. Not just a misdemeanor, but the rape and murder of a little girl. It seems that the behavior of the main character should be clear to everyone that he is unlikely to be capable of such a cold-blooded murder. But the presumption of innocence is clearly not respected when the police commissioner himself is interested in the positive outcome of the indictment process.
If in the first half of the film had to wrinkle from the actor's curvature, which supposedly should make the viewer laugh. Then began to slip more and more dramatic notes, when the line of the loving father revealed more. But with a decent acting, the result would be no worse than the famous drama “I am Sam”, because the very idea of a film about an unjustly convicted person still catches. Over time, you even close your eyes to an unnecessary farce and feel sorry for how a smart daughter finds herself in her father’s cell and sings a familiar motif from childhood from “Sailor Moon”, and his brethren unfortunately begin to conduct an investigative experiment on their own, trying to find out the cause of the girl’s death, and build a defense at the re-hearing of the case. In other words, watching adults is not as interesting as watching the emotions of a child. They were more natural and sincere.
The film has a lot of emotional dramatic episodes, which takes the whole plot to a more serious level. The soulful singing of a children's choir, a balloon flight, a fiery speech at the trial in defense of the accused, the birthday of a child in a prison cell and the shrill farewell of a father and daughter. That's just for the sake of these episodes it was worth watching this confused cocktail. If you discard all this amusing tinsel, you will discover a wonderful drama about the boundless love and care of the father and the injustice of the judicial system. This, of course, evokes stronger and more real emotions than attempts to laugh with dubious humor and inconclusive acting. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised, so I recommend watching. Impressions will be reminiscent of several such famous films as “The Green Mile”, “The Life of David Gale”, “I Am Sam”. It’s all about humor.
Well, what to say... The whole movie just ripped me apart, even though there’s a lot of humor there. Injustice is always scary. And when you see kindness and sincerity on the one hand and cruelty on the other, you want to go there and fix everything. And when you can't do that, it gets really bad.
Although no, the feeling after watching bright for some reason. The tears during the film are also bright.
Very strong movie. At first I put 9, but then I went and fixed 10. This is the first film that I've ever done with a high ball. I can't lower. Otherwise, you will have to lower all the other 10.
The acting is really amazing. First of all, of course, the game of Yong-gu is amazing. I am always fascinated by actors who can believably and sincerely play people with the Big Letter who remain human in all situations. So bright, so innocent, aegee chorom. And the girl, without a doubt, deserves all the awards. And the warden got really hooked. With his eyes, we see the whole story. And through his eyes the audience weeps, for through his attitude and participation we all relate and participate in the life of Yong-gu and his daughter.
Okay, I'm not going to paint here. I'll start crying again. It's hard, but we need to see. Although even this weight is light, so you should not be afraid of viewing.

Perhaps subjectively, but in recent years, cinema has more and more often created the impression of a formal conveyor production, which, if not identical to each other, is stamped with factory systematicity if not identical projects, then devoid of any soul and individuality exactly. When the situation is saved by rare representatives of paintings, which seem to be the fruit of handmade work, in which the whole soul of its creator is invested and this film by director Lee Hwang Kyung can be considered just such a work.
The film turned out very bright, kind, positive and insanely pleasant. So much so that you want it or not, when watching the tape, you necessarily recharge yourself with a positive mood and it becomes very easy on the soul. The director of the film Lee Hwang Kyung not only creates a strong enough symbiosis of the strongest drama with deep meaning and frivolous comedy on the screen, but also fully found a full-fledged way to the hearts of the audience. That is why when viewing the picture, you are willing to rejoice with the characters of the picture in their happy moments, but you also do not stingy with tears in certain moments, of which there are a decent number in the picture. But the most important thing in the picture is the soul and soulfulness with which the film is made and it is this sincerity that allows you to absolutely flawlessly and completely imbue what is happening on the screen without any objections. Watching the film not only with the eyes, but also with the heart, which is extremely rare for most modern films.
The film is certainly captivated by the story itself, which is endowed with the deepest meaning and morality. With the naked eye, it is noticeable that many moments are taken from the Oscar-winning “Forrest Gump” and “Life is Beautiful”, and the lead actor and the plot canvas itself is largely identical to the picture “I am Sam” with Sean Penn in the lead role, but the director of the picture not only does not copy certain moments of the tape pointlessly, but ties the plot to the picture and plays in a different light. Of course, at the head of everything is the story of the immeasurable love of a father for his daughter, which is not harmed by the mental retardation of a parent, or anything else. That certainly pushes for the kindness, light and humanity in the hearts of each of us, which we often forget in these harsh times. This film also teaches that you should always do good to people in this life and they will repay you in the same way.
It is this moment that the main characters are commissioned by a group of prisoners consisting of swindlers and bandits, who in fact turned out to be far from as bad people as it seemed at the very beginning. The magnificent acting ensemble consisting of O Dal Soo, Park Won San, Kim Jong Tae, Jung Man Shik and Kim Ki-hon certainly has a huge number of the brightest characters with a special personality, because of which you fall in love with each of them when watching the tape especially.
A huge achievement of the picture is to consider the stunning performance of the main role of Ryu Si Ryong, who simply amazed me with his game. Very often Ryu Si Ryong plays negative roles and it was quite unexpected and unusual to see him in the image of a fool, but Ryu Si Ryong coped with five plus and watching his game was only a pleasure. Because he was able to believe every word and deed, some of which really touched the living. Especially the farewell moment in the final, which made a huge impression on me. The discovery for me was a very small Gal So Won, which, despite its age, played simply amazing and certainly this game is worthy of all sorts of awards and honors. Actually, as well as a magnificent game Pak Shin Hye, the merits of which were not exhausted even by the secondary character on the screen.

The miracle in camera N7 is a rare example of a feature film made with a huge soul and the soulfulness of which is easily felt when watching the tape. Very light, kind, positive, partly sad, partly funny, but very strong film with a deep meaning that deserves to be watched and reviewed.
Another time wasted watching the Korean creation. And every time I wonder why Korean and Indian films have double-inflated ratings. Do we have a secret Indian and Korean society that specially promotes the unpromoted? In general, I advise lovers of really high-quality cinema, those who know the value of the words “genius game”, never waste time on either India or Korea.
Now on to the movie.
The girl in the movie is really great. Probably, they did not have time to teach her the masterpiece Korean “acting skills”, little more. Therefore, her emotions are natural and touches to the depths of her soul, and she has a pretty face. But all those who have already grown up and “learned”, play like all Asians that “game”, which originates from the theaters of puppets and mimes, where all emotions are deliberately overstated, curvature and stupidity replace the real ability to laugh, etc.
The main character - oligophrene annoys with the inability to play people with disabilities. It does not cause sympathy and empathy. After all, the actor has not decided whether he is mentally ill, or healthy, who mows under the patient. Therefore, his performance is very motley and not convincing, even at a discount on the Korean, so-called acting school. He is then an absolute moron, then suddenly becomes serious, looks consciously and utters completely adequate phrases, commits really “undivid” actions. Moments of enlightenment can not be called, it can only be called a defect of the director and actor.
Not annoying, but also not arousing delight images of the teacher and the warden. These actors, at least, presented a really acting school, albeit not brilliant, but convincing. Of course, the Korean teacher is just beautiful and it is pleasant to look at her. But that doesn't save the movie.
And how no one paid attention to the complete improbability of the trial and in general to the reason for this trial. We have a mentally retarded man before us. Before the court there must be a forensic examination for sanity. And judging by the external symptoms, the examination would confirm the insanity of this comrade and send him to a mental hospital, but not to death row. Now on death row, what is that? Children's playground or what? And how, many years later, at the end of the film, were all those on death row alive and well, free and among witnesses to the trial? Or was one crazy suicide bomber put in a cell with inmates for minor crimes?? There is a lot of absurdity in this film. I understand that a director’s imagination and film allegory can go far, as is often seen in French comedies. However, the French are very demanding on detail, and it is this fact that makes French comedy truly original and often masterpiece.
Back to the movie. The music in it is really good, children even sing opera aria. However, often this music is too much and the redundancy of obvious musical accents tires perception.
The script of the film is definitely interesting and captivating in places. The atmosphere of the film is filled with humanism and human emotion, even if it is too specific to play.
I never watch Korean movies again. Indian and so do not look (one bright spot was “Slumdog Millionaire”, and he was shot by an English director and producers).
Rarely but aptly, but I come across movies that make me cry. The Miracle in Cell 7 is no exception. . .
The movie really reminded me of I'm Sam. And here and there, the head of the family alone raises a little daughter, tries to get for her what the baby loves so much ... despite mental retardation.
To reconnect with his daughter, Sam had to go a long way - changing jobs, finding a good lawyer and being smarter than his 8-year-old daughter. Here the picture is different: by the will of the fateful incident Yonggu accused of murder, which he did not commit. And in order to quickly hush up the case, dishonest policemen presented everything so that it was Yonggu’s fault.
Everyone hated him except his daughter. She did not believe that 'dad is bad'. Yongso hoped that more than once he would be able to see and hug his father.
This family in the future will make many changes in the lives of prisoners and guards with their tricks, perseverance, loud laughter and colors (more precisely, crayons).
And no matter how much fun things were going on in cell number 7, trouble was coming ever more rapidly. After all, at one time many obstructed justice and did not notice the obvious (which even the prisoners saw and tried to help inside the four walls). Now justice is sought by the grown-up YongSo, who has on her hands not only dealing with all the facts, but also first-person testimony.
This movie is worth seeing. It seems to me that only an unfeeling scumbag will not shed tears from this story.
This is a story that says a lot and shows even more silently.
And although the plot is sad, but it managed to brighten up the little main character. Which even the hardened souls of her father's cellmates were able to soften. Everything was good-natured and bright, but for some reason I really wanted to cry. And after watching it for a long time I wondered: why is the world so unfair? How can you close your eyes to the obvious? Why do you intend to deprive an innocent person of life, when you perfectly understand that this will not make it easier for anyone?
The end of the story completely touched and made even more angry at the cruelty of the father of the deceased girl. And then he made it clear that justice exists. It does not matter when, but the guilty will be punished.
I advise everyone to watch the film, because it is about eternal problems, obvious, but hidden from us under the mask of justice.
When you watch it, you live and experience life with the heroes.
We were shown the gray world of a prison cell in vivid colors that bad uncles can be good and compassionate. A miracle in the form of a little girl who was able to melt the cold hearts of the guards. And a wonderful father who loves his daughter.
To be honest, this is a sad movie. But after watching the soul becomes warm, and there is a smile on the face.
