LOVE AND A LITTLE "CHEMIA" Something in this, dated 1948, the film is from the legendary Soviet “Crew”. Rather, in the “Crew”, filmed by Alexander Mitta thirty years later, catches some resemblance to the film Jacques Delannois.
Take the main characters, Claire and Jacques. She is a failed actress, whom a friend persuaded to become a flight attendant. He's a pilot. For her, love is a shock. It's an adventure for him.
And both will have to go through many dramatic and sometimes even tragic events, including a serious technical disaster, before they discover simple but important truths.
Jacques - realizes the value of accidentally entered into his life, but in fact turned out to be real, feelings, Claire will understand how fleeting time is spent, which is stupid to make Jacques jealous and other nonsense, meaning nothing compared to eternity.
However, unlike the Crew, the action in the painting by Delannois is extremely compressed and lasts a little less than two hours. And it is as if “shrouded”, characteristic of many French paintings of a romantic “smoke”. This is facilitated by a noble black and white image, and, of course, a special, “colored” in personal “tones”, the duo of the main actors – Michelle Morgan and Jean Marais.
And it can not be different, given that at a certain period of their biographies, they were not strangers to each other outside the screen.
However, even without being aware of such details, an astute viewer will surely guess. The so-called “chemistry” between the partners is so obvious that it is a rarity in itself.
