Girls disappear at midnight Suit and mask killers in slashers - one of the main (if, frankly, not the main) and the most important attributes of a good representative of the genre. At different times, maniacs dressed up in costumes for fencing, hockey ammunition and all sorts of masks, but the creators of the "Gone Girls" & #39; went even further.
If you make the top of the most original maniacs in slashers, then the villain from this film will clearly take one of the leading positions, since as a robe he uses a huge teddy bear costume - the mascot of the local basketball team. Moreover, the bear has such a deliberately positive expression of the muzzle. But instead of claws, he has small and sharp saws, with which he cuts his victims. Thus, the sports themes of this film are similar to such representatives of the genre as ' Graduation Day' and 'Fatal Games'.
The picture begins very standard for many horror films - in a psychiatric hospital, but then immediately the action is transferred to a sports match, where we get acquainted with the main characters, but the first murder occurs almost minutes so thirty-five after the beginning, and with the duration of the film in the standard hour and a half - this is a very long time. There are several very annoying characters in the tape, for example, a couple of repulsed fools who look like idiots throughout the film and whom the maniac, unfortunately, never finished off, because he killed only women in the plot. By the way, there are almost no normal male characters here, and for all in this sense, only a very secondary hero - the sheriff - is puffed out for everyone. His actions are logical and he's really trying to get to the truth, rather than trying to look stupid. There are no complaints about the actors, but many of the characters here are downright nasty.
The murder scenes themselves are not particularly inventive, but rather bloodthirsty, and the maniac often during the accomplishment of his ' exploits' communicates with the victims, insulting them, and maliciously comments on many murders, which brings him together with talkative killers like Freddy Krueger or a murderer from a wonderful slasher ' Uninvited Guest' Also, there are many of the other cute attributes of the genre - mysterious calls to heroes, a scattering of strange characters, each of which can be a killer, and, of course, the director's play with the viewer using some professional techniques.
The movie is not bad, except that in the middle between the murders there is already a big abyss, consisting of storylines that lead nowhere and heroes who do not receive further development. If you cut the time between murders, the movie would be much more spectacular. At the same time, technically everything is done without complaints at all - the camera work, the work of the artist is very worthy. The music in the film is not particularly memorable, but behind the scenes plays some pleasant horror ambient, contributing to the immersion in the narrative. Frank scenes here also did not bring - in principle, it does not particularly interfere with the pleasure of the picture, but in slashers nu-scenes with female nudity - this is historically one of the important components.
'Girls disappear' - an excellent example of a quite worthy slasher, on the hand of which plays his relative ' opposity' in comparison with his predecessors and followers. And thanks to the interesting image of the killer, he looks fresh and quite original. The solution of the image of the murderer will also be able to surprise, because here you will guess who the killer is or not, does not depend on attentiveness - rather on discretion. In this case, we can assume what is the main plot twist, leading to a worthy ending, which conceptually a little similar picture with an excellent horror ' Blood dedication', but, of course, goes its own way.
