As is often the case in recent years, first the viewer watches American cinema, then it turns out that a film with such a plot has already been shot, most often by Scandinavians. In 2020, the Thriller “Missing” from the script Olsson, I looked at it, but never looked. And this film, where Olsson was not only a screenwriter but also a director, I watched.
The film did not cause any revelations and strong impressions, although there were hopes - after all, Sweden + thriller are certain advances.
It began, indeed, intriguing: beautiful, but deserted, overgrown by the side of the tree roads, a girl in a car with a trailer and a strange type, maniacally persistent in his strange pursuit ... Why did I think that the film should see all the girls going on a long trip ... and not only the girls.
But Malin somehow is not "lucky" - all the men she met in the picture are sluggish, maybe the well-fed life of rich countries influenced them so much, but you still want some strong emotions and struggle for life. No, of course, I do not demand another version of the "Traveler", but I remain with my opinion.
Even the antagonist of the main character, so much effort and time spent on their affairs, in the denouement of the film completely passed.
In the final scene, one guesses the ancient American cinema - "Terror in the Night", this is to the question: who borrows from whom.
