Seasons 1 and 2 of "Seven Deadly Sins" shot unusually quickly, anime was talked about everywhere: popular social networks, all sorts of forums, and views of one series only in Ru space exceeded several hundred thousand, even some fragments collect several million views in popular video platforms. But as sad as it may sound, seasons 3 and 4 were just an unimaginable slag that no one wanted to inspect, and those who watched are considered heroes.
The problem with the dramatic loss of popularity is the quality difference between seasons 1, 2 and 3, 4. This makes a person fall into a stupor, how inventing and systematically developing such a beautiful plot, the author was able to destroy everything? It will help to give an answer to this – the period of release of seasons. The first season came out in 2015, the second in 2018, and the question is, why the big difference? The answer was the decision of the studios not to grumpy about the anime, namely, the author had to look for a new studio after season 2, because A-1 (the studio that worked on seasons 1 and 2) decided to withdraw from this project. And the search for a new company took a long time, because no one wanted to take.
Whether the author wanted to abandon, or lacked inspiration, but the middle and end of the story, the author decided to simply mix all the worst, from lore to plot twists.
This title should be divided into 2 parts: the first 2 seasons deservedly earn 8.5 out of 10. This is an extraordinary good anime: a beautiful plot, interesting lore, charismatic and memorable characters, good animation and adaptation.
For seasons 3 and 4, I can do 3 out of 10, only thanks to a couple of characters who pulled the anime as best they could, namely Escanor, Estarossa and Ban. Drawdowns occurred on all fronts: from the plot, ending with the most terrible animation, over which everyone laughed. Grand pianos appeared, the development of heroes began at the click of a finger, events begin to be explained by the type of luck, villains and heroes stopped dying, their power grows simply on a colossal scale, starting from the level of urban heroes turning into gods capable of destroying the planet.
Okay, the level of strength is broken, okay, the characters stopped dying, the animation became terrible, it’s all forgivable, but it’s simply impossible to close your eyes to the plot. How did the author manage to simultaneously make one of the best anime seasons in history (Season 1 and Season 2) to make it to the worst seasons (3 and 4)? No one is going to answer that.
In general, this anime could become one step with the most legendary senen, but the author lost everything.
P.S. Watch JAM voiceovers or subtitles, and yes, I'm still revisiting Escanor's battle with Esstarosa.
Beautiful, permeated with notes of vulgarity, sadism and black humor. It's a story about... You will be told this at the beginning of each series. And when you think about it, it's a very simple story. But you only know when all the circumstances are revealed to you. What will happen at the end of the season? By the way, season 4, at the moment the site thinks 3.
“Imagination is more important than knowledge,” said Albert Einstein, turning over in his grave to lie down comfortably and watch the twenty episodes of the next anime in a volley. For example, the Seven Deadly Sins. Why not, why not?
At first glance, there is everything that can entertain for the next weekend or two. A beautiful maiden with long legs and lush shapes, so kavaino blushing - of course, a princess. A handful of strange creatures with magical abilities, in their free time, similar to ordinary boys and girls. A split fantasy kingdom, blooming with lush greenery, smoothly flowing from the world of the dead to the world of fairies, melting both demons and Holy Knights. Exceptionally bright, light colors. Lighthearted, childish laughter ringing open and ending.
The plot is written very competently to maintain fan interest, but, unfortunately, it is not targeted enough to create artistic value. The seed is given in the first episode: to find the members of the Seven Deadly Sins, a gang of criminals with special powers. With an even arrow - with minimal lyrical digressions - the narrative flies through the cities and villages, in turn acquainting the viewer with new heroes and pampering him with enviable regularity with combat scenes. The latter are accompanied by stop frames characteristic of manga with a description of a particular technique (“Fire Storm”, “Full Reflection”), which adds pathos and warms up fan disputes, whose technique is cooler. Well, to defuse the situation in the background grunts and squeals a humorous element - a talking pink pig.
The description and development of characters is not given as much attention as their combat and behavioral features. The goal was to make them as different and recognizable as possible, rather than feeling and thinking. Only one of the heroes (Bana) the legend is properly thought out and associated with the sin he personifies, the rest are interrupted by pathetic scraps of prehistory, it seems necessary only for “rest” between fights. In the second half of the series, this trend increases only incrementally: the last two Sins (Gauther and Merlin) are barely represented - and immediately thrown on the battlefield. In addition, the narrative suddenly begins to rush from the main characters to the secondary, filled with motifs and flashbacks of people and half-monsters.
From a commercial point of view, the abundance of “holes” in the characteristics of the characters is only useful: the viewer is constantly asking questions and waiting for their resolution. In the finale - expectedly - not a point, but an ellipsis: the journey of the heroes is not yet completed, and they are waiting for many more adventures. Another question: will you want to look at these naked events, hastily linking clichéd, inanimate “superhumans”? Of course, if there is no other choice, you can arrange yourself a lazy weekend with the Seven Sins on the couch - you see, you can get rid of Despondency, and there will be six of them.
I have a difficult relationship with sins. For I am sinful. It took me two attempts to get back on track. The first time I had critical days, not those, but others. But for the second run I had to prepare thoroughly.
There's no plot. We have holy knights and seven deadly sins, as well as a girl, Elizabeth, who wants justice in the kingdom. To do this, she needs the help of the very sins she so desperately seeks. This is the main motivation.
If you look better, then you no longer pay attention to the bundle because the characters come out on the battlefield:
Meliodas is the main character, the sin of anger, although, judging by his behavior, rather lust. Despite its appearance, its age is calculated by spoilers. He’s a good guy, unless he’s angry (which isn’t easy). Clearly there are skeletons in the closet, but this is likely to be revealed in season 2.
Diana is a sin of envy. Extremely big girl, but outwardly I don't really like it. He seems to be jealous of human growth. It's still unclear. Very jealous. He's also a magician. .
Ban is a sin of greed, and in fact, probably the only character who was unjustly recorded as sins. He is also one of the most emotional and tragic characters. Despite all the tragedy, humor is pretty good.
King is a sin of laziness. The fairy king who has no wings, but there is a pillow-transformer, on which you can take a nap in flight and make a couple of holes in the enemy.
Gauter is the sin of lust and perhaps the most mysterious character. But I can say for sure that this is a boy in a girl (when you see him, you will understand what I mean).
Merlin is the sin of gluttony. Although you can't tell by sight... She's a magician. And that's probably all there is to say about her. Sock. She appears almost at the end. This is another reason to wait for Season 2.
Elizabeth - Not as simple as it seems at first glance. There's nothing more to say about it, it's just an engine of events. It is also the subject of “Touching.”
Hawke is a talking pig. And that's it, you could stop there and say it's just thrash and that's it. Why the fuck is a pig? Haa, sometimes that pig puts his sins in his belt. Along with Bun, our swine is the main generator of humor. In general, he turned out to be a great character. I think a lot of people will like it, and if not, then expect a blow with twisted butts.
I also liked the music. However, this time for some reason the pennynings and endings passed me by. But the theme of Bana and Elaine is simply delightful.
“Seven Deadly Sins” are great characters + drama + humor to mix it all and serve in the right proportions, then everything will harmoniously combine.
I came across this anime completely randomly. Just watched amv on one wonderful senen Killer Akame and in the proposed clips, he saw an impressive selection of videos on 7 mortal sins, and, as it seemed to me at first, the spectacle in the series presented a rather bloody and cruel picture. But in the end it was a little different.
So, there is the Order of the Seven Deadly Sins, who betrayed the king and staged a coup in the country. However, a strange thing turns out: they tried to seize power, but then suddenly escaped. I wonder why. It is clear that it is not so simple.
Of course, in fact, the representatives of this order are almost the only true sacred knights in the country, the reins of which passed to the "holy". And they almost fully justify their title. They care about the people and the country. They are trying to open the gates of hell in order to start a new war. This is the case.
At this time, a young princess escapes from the palace, who still could not but meet the head of "Sins" - Wrath. It really doesn’t look so ferocious. Although the rest are quite consistent with their callsigns, especially the Tsar (aka Laziness), who prefers to fly everywhere for companions, embracing a pillow. He even fights with sluggish flapping of his hand.
The plot is creepy. Heroes simply go to the concentration of evil (in our case, to the castle), gradually taking the path of villains. Nothing surprising happens in the process. There is a little bit of progress.
I thought the fights would take the series to a higher level. Alas! Deaths and blood are almost not at all, and I was counting on them.
However, "Sins" is a very good anime. If there are not so many viewed titles behind your shoulders, the sample presented here can attract you seriously. And yet the already mentioned "Akame Killer" is a step up. Do you want a hard action and non-trivial story? Look for Akame.
This is a very interesting and exciting anime. There are both battles and magic, evil and good, betrayal and loyalty, love and hatred. The characters are very interesting and funny. And the idea of the seven sins is interesting, although I do not understand who the seventh sin is. A curious unusual drawing that makes this anime only more attractive. The most important Meliodas, not only that the strongest and unexpectedly small, but also a pervert a little. Well, about his friend Pig in general a separate story, he is almost the main character. But most of all, I was interested in the sin of Lust, very intelligent, impartial, loving to read books and simply unkillable! (I'm not talking about Bana at all)
Let me start by saying that throughout the twenty-four episodes, there was a very insistent thought that I had seen it somewhere before. Not in the sense that "Nanatsu no Taizai" sounds like something or the plot is the same, it was just a strange feeling, as if I had already seen it. The heroes were like relatives, the story literally captured and really did not want to part with it, but, alas, the season has come to its logical conclusion, and the continuation is not yet foreseen. It's not my genre at all. To be more precise, I try to avoid this, since most often the plot does not interest at all, but seems too boring. It was exactly the opposite here. Literally, after a few minutes, I already knew that the anime would become something native and bright for me. It so happens that if anime has an original, then I will definitely get acquainted with it, but only after I understand whether I like the plot. Therefore, the most important thing for me is whether there is a desire to read. It’s so good that after five episodes, I knew exactly when I would start reading the original, because if the anime was so beautiful, what would the manga be like? I hope I don’t miss it and can enjoy this wonderful story a little more. I don’t want to say goodbye to her like that.
Why would I like it so much? In fact, I'm not quite sure of the answer. It seems that the genre is not mine, the characters are extremely ordinary (such can be found in fantasy stories quite often), and the plot is not so new. So what's so hooked, so much so he doesn't want to let go yet? I guess it's easy to tell. It's so smooth, and it's not tense at all. Or maybe bright personalities, despite the fact that there is nothing in them? It's too hard to answer. The story enticed, the characters hooked with their charisma, and everything else came on its own. This is a wonderful anime about friendship. And then the romantic line arrived and very well fit into the story, so beautiful that it caused a wide smile on the face. Where else would you find so many couples who don’t fit together? It's nice that so many opposites have met and hopefully in the original they will understand their feelings and I will see a happy ending.
As for the heroes, there are too many to list or even name the ones you like. This is rare, but in this anime, the female part is simply inimitable. They are really wonderful, that the main character, that cute giant, and the rest somehow attract attention. It's very commendable, because I don't often like girls in anime. Basically, they are too fickle, illogical and extremely boring. I haven’t seen that here, so I’m very happy. But the men's part got a little bit pumped up. Absolutely bad characters were not, but some seemed extremely ridiculous, for example, the same high priest protecting the older princess. Throughout history, I have never been able to get used to it. In the beginning, he did a great job as an antagonist. I really hated him for everything he did. Perhaps the favorite heroes were Meliodas and Gauter. The first for his innocent face and endless trolling, and the second for his extremely neutral character and ability to speak openly and without fear of consequences. Throughout history, these two have been the ones who have had great fun.
If you look at it like this, I haven’t been so excited for a long time. Despite all the shortcomings, history is so loved that you do not want to part with it at all. She was so warm and bright, and also romantic and funny, brought to tears, and then caused a loud laugh - not everyone is capable of this. And a continuation here would have been useful. It is really necessary, because there are a lot of questions, and there are still no answers to them.
9.5 out of 10
For a slightly naive story. It is not terrible completely and not at all upset, but I would like something else. Not typical for this genre, but I am happy with what I got in the end. This is not often found, so the time was not wasted and I am ready to review this wonderful story many more times to enjoy it every time.
