Pixar at the time of the release of the cartoon already had experience in creating sequels of his tapes. And in most cases it was a good result. This time, I can say that this trend has continued and we got a great job. And the authors found the right time to release their creation at a time when the theme of superheroes was at the top.
The story begins where the previous part ended. Our team is once again battling a new evil, but no one notices it and only talks about the dangers of such activities. Therefore, the issue of banning superheroes is supported by law. And now the family is preparing for a banal life, when suddenly Elastica receives an invitation to test a new program. It aims to restore the reputation of the heroes. So the woman goes on an important mission, and our Mr. Exceptional stays home with the kids. Overall, it's not genius, but it works well. We see the style of the original again and we are greeted by a good opening scene. Regarding the decision to separate family members, I think it turned out well. For each was able to open up in his own way.
I like the interaction of the characters the most. They complement each other without losing their identity. Regarding Elastica, she takes the lead role and is able to prove that she is not in the shadow of a man. During the tape, many difficulties are imposed on her, but this does not prevent her from moving towards her goal and fighting for good intentions. At home, we can see real family relationships. So it’s a little unexpected in a fantastic cartoon, but everything is depicted fun and interesting. Sometimes even the interaction of a father with children is more interesting to follow than the main line of events. I think everyone will be able to enjoy scenes like this, and for some people these situations will be familiar.
As always, we have good visuals and dynamics. Although the tape lasts almost two hours, but time goes unnoticed. The plot lines complement each other and entertain the viewer in their own way. As during the break between works, the visual part has improved even more. Especially on the characters of people, this is noticeable, and the staging of action scenes is quite pleasant. We also have a recognizable musical theme and pleasant humor. First of all, he is associated with the youngest member of the family Jack Jack and the already mentioned Mr. Exceptional. Well, even at a certain point, the creators prepared us an interesting development of events that gave interest to viewing.
Conclusion. I can say that this cartoon came out at a convenient time and brought a lot of dividends to the studio. But to say that it was not deserved, I can not. Because we got a good sequel, capable of attracting the attention of fans of the original and just superhero-loving people. I am sure that this picture will give a good mood and experience from viewing.
Unfortunately, even the first part I watched after the release of the second, so the expectation of almost a decade and a half is unfamiliar to me. However, I can imagine the feelings of fans of the first part, which they felt when the first frames and promo posters appeared. The first 'Superfamily' was a worthy member of the pantheon of Pixar's best works, so the thrill in the hearts of fans before the release of the second part was definitely not illusory. But I don't think there's room for the second part either.
I can’t guarantee that this is true, but I read that Brad Byrd, the director of the animated film, had problems in its production related to the postponement of the release dates, because of which a lot of ideas were supposedly discarded and details were invented on the go. If that's the case, it could explain the rather weak core storyline. I could call it the main and perhaps only problem of the film. Frankly speaking, the main conflict turns out to be very simple and uncomplicated, because of which its culmination can be called a grand piano in the bushes. And that wouldn’t be a particular problem even if it wasn’t the driving element of the whole plot, the most vivid and accentuated. This somewhat spoiled my impression of the picture, because I know for sure after watching the first 'Superfamily' that Pixar and specifically Bird can do better.
However, not one main storyline is alive in the film, so I chose to take it as a help to reveal another important branch that is more emotional and close to the viewer than another fight between good and evil. I'm talking about the development of Robert Parr as the head of the family and the father of the family. In this part, the usual family roles changed: Helen went to save the world, and Bob stayed at home to monitor their troubled brood. The classic script, in fact, but the creators managed to implement it beautifully, to convey the difficulties faced by Bob, accustomed to being the first and strongest always and in everything. The standard educational problems of Dash, the basic mathematics of which seems completely alien to his father, questions of a personal nature of Violet, which certainly cannot be easily solved by the methods of straightforward and awkward Robert, and even poorly controlled superpowers that suddenly opened up in the youngest child - all this falls on the father of the family and suddenly it turns out that even super-strong shoulders are inexorably bent under such a burden. If the first film was about how hard it is to be a simple person, then the second one was about how hard it is to be a parent, I think.
It seems to me that the second 'Superfamily' is more focused on the development of the main characters and more reveals them, while the first part is generally about the idea of the life of the superhero family as a whole. Now the Parr family has more evolved personalities, it is interesting to recognize them as real people, because of what their life problems empathize more. This applies not only to the previously mentioned father of the family, but also to his only daughter, who grew from a closed and awkward girl into a purposeful girl, struggling with her shyness and making bold deeds in such difficult years for a teenager.
The film did not deprive the viewer of an excellent picture. Fourteen years later, Violet’s hair has ceased to be the most difficult thing for animators, now the creators produce realistic shots with an incredible amount of detail and insane dynamics. Personally, I was constantly attracted to small moments in animation, which Pixar always treated with care. After all, only a responsible and loving animator will draw how the character licks his lips for a split second during an ordinary conversation.
'Superfamily 2' came out a good and good film. But she still had every chance to become a great film and cult.

The original animated film was released on December 23, 2004, fourteen years later we saw Super Family 2. Both creations were created by Pixar studio, which proved to be a real titan of the animation industry, but in the end, the sequel disappointed me. What is it about him?
So, the plot of the sequel begins where the original cartoon ended. The scene, which was meant as a trifling affair, grew by as much as ten minutes. The feeling that it was specially stretched to something to occupy the general timekeeping. And a couple of subsequent scenes leave a sense of intentional drag. The oddities don't end there. The second controversial point is the choice of the main character, falling not on Mr. Exceptional, but on his wife Elastica. The main villain also becomes a female character. Is it following modern trends because of the attack on the studio of radical feminists, or a brilliant decision of the big dad from Disney? There is nothing wrong with female characters, for example, Violet is a very colorful and interesting hero. So why did I worry about the choice of protagonist/antagonist? Because we are being imposed on pseudo-equality of the sexes, in which men are deliberately understated and women are elevated to absolute strength. I also noticed that the heroes of the opposite sex are the antipodes of each other. First, Helen and Bob Parra, where the former solves problems quietly and peacefully, and the latter arranges noisy and destructive rescues of the world. Later, Elastica becomes the breadwinner of the family, doing all the superhero work, when Mr. Exceptional is shown to us by a new housewife, saying that doing housework is also work, and hard. Second, Evelyn and Winston Dever, where the sister is shown to us as a brilliant scientist living in the shadow of a brother who has been portrayed as a complete moron and idiot. Third, Violet and Shastic Parra. In general, everything is bad here, because a whole love line was prescribed for V, it is revealed to us as a dramatic character with his cockroaches in his head, and Shastic became the boy who plays a tree in a school play, he is, as it were, takes part in the production, but as it were not. But on the heroes, the problems of the plot do not end. The third nail of the cartoon, which was hammered dead – logic, or rather its complete absence. In many scenes, the characters did not do basic things that would help solve their problem, about the villain in general I am silent.
The final chord of the failure I see the repetition of the old: the structure of the plot on one layout, even the conflict is tied to the same (the destruction of the city, subsequently the complaints of citizens and the banning of superheroes); not changed for fifteen years of the schedule, only the hair animation has increased noticeably; the soundtracks, Pixar seem to have found records for the original and inserted them into the sequel without changes and additions with new tracks.
Right, the music of the "Super Family" is good, it is pleasant to the ear, and with a noar atmosphere generally immerses in the world of the sixties. Undoubtedly plus pictures, yet from Pixar expect more, not for nothing they are titans of the animation industry.
There were a lot of laudatory reviews, enthusiastic cheers, saying: “The sequel turned out not just good, but wonderful!” But in the end I was disappointed because the cartoon is too overrated. It contains a concentration of boredom, pseudo-equality, stupidity, and repetition. I don’t recommend watching it, it’s a waste of time.
Before I start, I would like to share one uninteresting fact: I hate movies that play on nostalgia! You can give an infinite number of examples of sequels, prequels (which no one asked for), trying to go out on the good and beloved name of the original. With a few exceptions, each such attempt to make money (otherwise it can not be called), turns into a collapse and not only cash (which, to be honest, can not but please). And now in 2018, under the patronage of Disney comes the continuation, without exaggeration, the cult animated film Pixar - "Superfamily". 14 years, we have been waiting for this event! I remember, even as a child reviewing this masterpiece, I wondered why it ends in the most interesting place, and most importantly, when we will show the confrontation with Podryvashkin? However, watching the sequel overshadowed not the small screen time of the Dungeon King (a bit pretentious nickname for a five-minute villain, I admit), but something more serious. Let's get more specific:
Characters:
The family itself:
I think it's fair to start with Helen/Elastics. So, in the continuation, the creators do not make a particularly cunning castling. If in the original we watched the adventures and for the time being the double life of Bob, here (although without secrets from family members), Elastica comes to the fore, and this is the biggest plus of the film. I have read enough, both positive and negative reviews. And I noticed one strange pattern - people who disavow this story, all as one, sober about the propaganda of feminism. No, my friends, I disagree! First, The right pattern of behavior (in the center of the story) is necessary not only for boys, but also for girls. Secondly, Helen is this model. Judge for yourself, Elastica, over the course of two films, repeatedly proves that a girl can be both a good mother and a loving wife, and a successful career. Nothing infringing on manhood, I in this plot permutation, even kill, do not see. What about the rest (Bob, Violet, Shastic and baby Jack-Jack) - secondary characters, most of the timekeeping, struggling with everyday life situations - to follow the children, the difficulties of transition, learning problems, a baby with a thousand and one ability, howling against the encroachments of the brazen raccoon on the property of the Parr family - a garbage bin (yes, there is one here).
Evelyn Dever:
Alas, with the appearance of this character and the storyline, ' Incredible' a twist that, as soon as Evelyn opens his mouth for the first time, all the troubles associated with the sequel begin. Without spoilers (although there is nothing to spoil!), she, along with her brother Winston, represents an international telecommunications company (he is the head, she is the inventor), which seeks to return superheroes their rights. In the meantime (almost from the very first line), we learn that Dever Sr. once entrusted his life to costumed fighters for justice, for which he paid. The only thing that warms the soul in this whole idea with Ekranotiran is the criticism of the consumption of everything that is offered to us in colorful packaging. The creators directly say that people exchanged the severity of risk and genuine emotions for a beautiful empty screen.
It catches the eye and on personnel copying of the original (starting from the type of activity of the main bad guy, ending with the eyeliner to the final battle). It seems that Disney rushed Brad Bird, and most of the original ideas had to be thrown out, and instead use a working template.
Visually, Pixar, as always, surpasses all conceivable and unthinkable expectations, which was obvious since the release of the first trailer, when each electrified villi on Bob's T-shirt, amazed with its elaboration (a trifle, but nice).
Result: Despite all the above advantages, in the form of a beautiful model of behavior, family interaction and a good idea of consumer self-destruction, I expected more after a 14-year break than a one-time product that puts pressure on the most sick, namely nostalgia, with a poorly prescribed villain, whose motivation is clarified after a minute of acquaintance with him. None of this is good!
Not even twenty years have passed since the long-awaited sequel 'Superfamily' was born. Who would have thought that the continuation of the adventures of the Parr family will have to wait so long, but finally here he is. Animated film by Pixar & #39;Superfamily 2'. Was it worth so many years of waiting? Let's understand, and all lovers of heroes in tight tight tights - welcome.
And I will start, perhaps, with the minuses, which in the sequel, unfortunately, more than enough. The first and most important thing is the plot ' Superfamily 2' 90% repeats the story of the first tape, while devaluing all the events of the original animated film. Do you remember how the first part ended? Members of the Parr family found harmony not only in their relationships with each other, but also with themselves, proving that the world still needs superheroes. What is it like to see 'Superfamily 2'? Absolutely the same conflicts, as if there was no first tape. Very lazy, very disrespectful to the audience and the characters themselves approach to the script.
The second, since we are talking about characters, is the distorted characters of the characters. The central characters of the original 'Superfamily' had specific personalities, yes, in some ways they were stereotyped, but still the characters caused affection for themselves. Here their images are simply perverted, sometimes they cause frank irritation, and to a greater extent it affected Bob, Mr. Exceptional, who turned into some envious clown-incompetent.
And finally, the dynamic. The first part boasted a beautifully built narrative, the cartoon did not sag for a minute, adding more and more drive. 'Superfamily 2' looks not with such interest, and closer to the middle of the tape frankly slips, even then compensate for it with the final action. If the first 'Superfamily' perfectly balanced between superheroics and family themes, managing to convey something important and touching to the viewer with a couple of lines of dialogue, then there is no balance in sight. ' Household' occupies a significant part of the tape, while not summarizing the same bright line as the original did.
Now to the positives. The initial action and the final 20 minutes are done perfectly, drive, this is exactly the “Super Family” & #39, which I was waiting for. Jack-Jack, the youngest member of the Parr family, and Freon, who this time was given more screen time. There’s a lot of humor... and that’s all.
Coming to the final - 'Superfamily 2' was a disappointment for me. I’m not going to call it completely bad, and probably if I hadn’t seen the original animated film, I would have taken the sequel better. But no. It's literally a second-rate product that tells the same story as it did in 2004, only doing it extremely ineptly and wrongly. It’s very strange to see as a writer and director the same person who created the beautiful first part and has now released a faded copy of it.
The death of another good series after the intervention of Disney politics.
There is no doubt that in the near future, cinema will degrade so much that it will resemble a scene from the film “Idiocracy”, when the crowd of viewers who came to see another film in the theater, instead of such, saw just a male hairy fifth point on the whole screen, and at the same time they liked it. That’s exactly where I’m going, because I see more and more films that don’t look like a product of filmmaking, but rather a product of the human body. And I see more and more people happily scavenging these products, demanding supplements. Demand generates a proposal: the more people will buy such, the more will be released in rental and corresponding to their needs films.
And the main threat to everything good that once was in Hollywood is the Disney studio. Today I learned that they bought another good movie company, 20th Century Fox. This news made me think about their plans to monopolize all of Hollywood’s media production, which would lead to the total death of truly high-quality cinema. The studio has long been working not for an idea, but only on the basis of selfish motives, or to once again suck up to any minorities.
After a slightly prolonged introduction, I move on to the cartoon itself. I will begin with the most important problem, which will take most of my review. This is feminism propaganda. All the women in the cartoon are strong and independent, who are able to cope with any difficulties without the help of stupid men. Here you and the main character, which was put on the forefront, while her husband was pushed somewhere out there, in the edge, to look after the children, and “genius” Evelyn Dever, who manages her so naive and stupid brother like a puppet, and a girl-plenipotentiary (representative of a very high rank), who has power and authority, a girl-policeman who so skillfully drives a car during a chase, and even a girl-pilot of a helicopter (hell, could not at least not touch this profession!?). Most likely, I missed many more “strong” female representatives who “ruled” in the cartoon. That is, it is immediately clear that the work contains a bunch of superfluous and useless characters who do not play any role (although for someone, probably, play...).
It shows how difficult it is for women in domestic affairs. It’s so hard that no man could do it, and even Mr. Exceptional with his superhero power is not able to cope with such an incredible job that only females can handle! It was necessary to spoil the character set in the first part. Made of a superhero and a good father some worthless, angry and envious dad, who the whole film does almost nothing, only galls with envy to the enchanting success of his super wife. Housework, of course, for him in the cartoon is too difficult task (where he is, because only supergirls can cope with such an overwhelming work). Can not cope with the algebra of his son, does not understand child psychology to help his daughter in a difficult moment, but about his attempts to care for a small carapuse in general, I think, you should not write. Also from another male member of the Superfamily made absolutely useless vegetable, and this is Shastic. Having super powers, he does not play any role in the “saving of humanity”, besides, he is not even able to follow the child. But his sister is just a smart one: she does everything, and thinks everything, and decides everything for them.
All male characters are either absolutely useless, or at least just freaks, in the literal sense of the word: real physiological freaks, as if some genetic infection tried to fame on their bodies and, in particular, faces. Just look at all the male superheroes, I have never seen such ugliness anywhere, just freaks in costumes. Even the appearance of the poor protagonist was not left alone: the shape of his face, of course, remained from the previous part, but what a disgusting facial expression he drew in various scenes, just horror.
And the appearance of the main villain is pure feminist (what an irony). Of course, not to say that she is ugly, but this arrogant look on her face and easy looseness ... But almost all the female characters in the cartoon look much more attractive than the male ones, especially the main character. Demonstration of women's gatherings with intimate conversations about the fact that men are not capable of anything and that they (babam) have to cope with all things alone, for example, to save the world. Who, if not them... Very, very much propaganda. Yes, almost the entire cartoon is just a full-fledged two-hour popularization of feminism, having nothing to do with a good first part, the continuation of which everyone has been waiting so long.
It is a pity that Disney strangled the continuation of the Super Family, because it could turn out quite useful 2nd part. There were all the prerequisites for this: the directorship did not change, the budget allowed, the demand was high. I am sure that the ideas that were conceived by the director of the last part initially did not fit into the insidious plan of Disney for profit, and in the end they were rewritten, destroying all the good that was in the first part. The only thing that will save the series from collapse is the complete disregard of the sequel or its re-division. Because everything that was shown here is not even a full-fledged story, just full-scale propaganda and a pinch of clichés with stamps about superheroes. No depth and no philosophy. There was a great chance to reveal the topic of family relationships of superheroes, as well as to show their problems, but managed to cope only partially with the second.
The only thing that aroused any interest in what was happening was Mr. Exceptional's attempts to adjust to the role of a housewife. His overload, unshavenness, fatigue was a little amusing. Attempts to master the power of the smallest member of the family also brought a smile. Also, there are no complaints about the quality of the animation (except for male freaks, but it is worth addressing to the main artist): everything is smooth and beautiful. Of course, the music is not like the first part, but there is still some.
As a conclusion, I will say that if you throw out all the propaganda from the cartoon and rewrite the plot to a more significant one for the series, then it would be a great continuation of the first part, the series would live. And so far, in the cartoon, I see only one message: men should sit at home and not prowl while women save the world!

For years, Pixar' has focused on original projects, ignoring the sequels and triquels so prevalent in the industry. Of course, there were two sequels 'Toy Story' but that was an exception. Now the company regularly alternates original projects with sequels. The studio released 'Cars 2', 'Monster University', 'Finding Dory' and 'Cars 3'. You know, the sequel 'Superfamily' begging. In 2004, Brad Bird directed an animated classic cartoon. It was an origin story, the first chapter of the universe to be studied in more detail. For some reason, it took 14 years to get back to the world of Super Family 39, but the good news is that this world doesn’t feel outdated. In fact, Bird and his team wisely updated it, staying true to what we loved in the first picture. They did what any sequel is supposed to do - develop the theme of the original, plus explore new territory. It’s a beautiful, fun family movie. In other words, exactly what we want from 'Pixar'.
Brad Bird paid homage to the comics of his youth, using blockbuster fundamentals and fabulous animation to fully realize his vision of heroism on the big screen, as well as exploring the stresses of family life, coupled with the fight against nefarious supervillains and their insistence on taking over the world. ' Superfamily 2' does not make a time jump, preferring to start right where she left off, preserving the family dynamics that made the original cartoon so fun. No one has aged, but the central crisis has changed to the discovery of superpowers and the separation of the family. Helen takes all of her attention while fighting crime, taking Winston’s chance to demonstrate that heroes don’t need to be feared. Bird shares a marital unit, with half of the picture showing Elastic as a safe superhero, while the rest of the film details the children and Bob, who is in charge of paternal leadership. Those who expect to work together may be a little disappointed in the separation, but Brad gives time to everyone, even the chilling Freon, who embodies Bob's friend, Lucious Best.
Helen's storyline is interesting, and it features some of the picture's most stunning moments, with Elastica racing through the city in attempts to stop the train, using her natural flexibility to avert disaster. Helen finds support from Evelyn, who insists that female superheroes must leave their mark, giving the fight against crime a new elegance. Helen's lineage involves fighting the Scranotiran, who has the ability to enslave, but he is not a memorable villain, used primarily as an ordinary target for Elastica, who switches to detective mode. Ultimately, we meet a younger generation of superheroes looking for a chance to prove themselves. Bob’s misadventures in fatherhood result in extreme fatigue and deepening, but Bird treats the character with respect, showing him as someone who takes the problems of parenting seriously, working on himself to fully help his children. And, there are great moments with Jack-Jack, whose powers begin to take shape, making him the trump card of the Super Family. As with all of his work, Burt plays with the definitions of heroes in society. A steel giant doesn't have to be a weapon, a rat can be a chef, Mr. Exceptional can be a cool parent and Elastica can save that day.
Like many cartoons 'Pixar' this one is made for two audiences. We're going to have a children's cartoon that will be loved for action scenes, beautiful colors and humor, and then, we have an adult cartoon that gives social commentary, family dynamics and parenting. They reach every corner of their target audience and do so with so much ease and so much fun. The sequel offers a playful and clever paradigm shift, asking viewers to rethink traditional male and female roles. Yes, 'Superfamily 2' not superior to the original, but no reason why it should. We are brought back into this world with caution, with palpable awe, refusing aggressive escalation and noisy events to delve deeper into these special personalities.
The original "Super Family" from Pixar studio was one of the favorite cartoons. I would like to see last year’s follow-up be worth it. But it did not happen - "Superfamily II" liked about 7 points out of 10. And this is a failure for the studio, which was once the standard of full-length animation (both in technical and in all other aspects).
Recently, Pixar rarely delights with completely new stories, and only truly outstanding cartoons produces even fewer. It is worth saying that before the studio tried to make sequels as unlike the originals as possible - to tell a new story in new circumstances, albeit with old characters. But “Super Family II” is not so – the authors made the picture too secondary compared to the first film, so that it remained in the shadow of the original.
In order not to take risks, out of bad Hollywood habit, Pixar decided to repeat literally everything, passing off the restart as a sequel, as is customary today. There is also a villain for whom the main character works (only now it is Elastica, not Mr. Exceptional), he wants revenge on the “supers”, being in the past their fan. There is also a society that wants to ban superheroes again, even though they heroically save them. And the problems in the family are still the same: for example, Violet again tries to make friends with the guy, the same (for this, even his memory was erased, also repeating the old episode). The transformation of Jack-Jack from a short to the first picture made an important part of the second and developed to the absurd.
There are also repetitions of ideas, almost frames: and Elastica-parachute (several times), and saving the monorail (several times), and controlling the aircraft Elastica, and much more, down to various trifles. There's even a production again and a very similar display of Edna's superhero costume. Freon's actions in the closing scenes. And much, much more.
Yes, it's a little modernized, shifting the focus to hackers rather than brute force, family values are in place, the graphics are prettier. Of the real innovations is a crowd of freaks masquerading as superheroes. The cartoon is generally not bad, but this is not enough to preserve the authority of Pixar, which is becoming an ordinary studio. Now without much hope we have to wait for “Toy Story 4” (Disney, isn’t it time to leave Woody, Baz and the company alone?) – the first promo videos with an ugly fork as a new character do not promise anything good.

Recently, Pixar studio began to turn to their hits and release their sequels. I can’t tell you how much I like this practice. It all started with Toy Story, then we saw the backstory of the Monsters Corporation, the sequel to Finding Nemo, now we have the sequel to the adventures of the Parr family of superheroes, which I first saw somewhere in 2005, and the Super Family immediately hit the list of favorite cartoons. And 14 years later I went to the movies, nostalgic and enjoy!
The sequel takes place just a few minutes after the completion of the previous film: the Parr family enters into a battle with the villain. However, the public is not yet ready to accept the activities of superheroes, and the Parr family has to go underground again. And yet superheroes are given another chance: big tycoon Winston Dever offers to restore people's trust in supers. For such a task, he chooses Elastica, which somewhat upsets Mr. Exceptional. And while Bob struggles with a variety of domestic problems, including Violet’s teenage crisis, Shastic’s math difficulties, and Jack-Jack’s many abilities, Helen saves the world by trying to figure out the identity of the new villain Ekranotiran, who declares war on superheroes.
It was as if those 14 years had passed, as if the heroes had never gone anywhere, but were always with us. The creator of the Superfamily Brad Bird made a bet on audience nostalgia, and did not lose. It preserves that superhero atmosphere, an era when dangerous criminals and supervillains were fought by people with superpowers. There is also more time devoted to such superhero missions: whether it is a chase on an advanced motorcycle, or saving an aircraft from a crash, or a reconnaissance mission (this is my favorite scene - Elastica is looking for a villain, flying over the city...). Do not forget about references to the famous superhero teams, which served as a prototype for the characters of the cartoon: I noticed two to the Fantastic Four (film) - an episode with the opening of the door and liquid nitrogen ... Again, we can see the mixing of several movie genres in one cartoon: here we have a superhero blockbuster, and a family drama where my father tries to cope with the house while my mother is at work, and elements of a thriller, suspense and fun comedy. Humor is just a classic of the genre: Jack-Jack vs. the raccoon, new mathematical solutions and a lot of new abilities - hilarious!
The feeling of nostalgia consolidates the soundtrack, which was written by Michael Giacchino, who created the musical accompaniment to the original. And listening to all the familiar and new compositions - from the introduction to the final credits - is a pleasure!
Although we give the impression that nothing has changed, but in the coming minutes it is impossible not to notice the development of animation and how much it has moved forward. Everything became clearer, richer, more detailed, more realistic - this is especially noticeable if you look at the hair of the characters. Excellent work!
All the favorite characters are involved: the whole Parr family, where everyone has incredible abilities! Robert Parr, he is also Mr. Exceptional, a superpower and the father of the family now works around the house while his wife works. I see elements of one of my favorite comedies with a similar plot. On the one hand, when a father becomes a housewife, it's very funny. And on the other hand, it's very nice when he makes sacrifices so his wife can make her dream come true. In addition, Robert will help children to deal with many problems and become closer to each other. Helen Parr, aka Elastics, able to change the shape of their body, comes to the forefront. Needless to say, the cartoon has a very strong feminist message (not only in terms of Elastic). And she was just beautiful: Elastica is so excited to be back in superhero activity, and she'll do the right thing. He will remain a loving wife and mother. Their children: the eldest Violet, the invisible girl who begins a transitional age and problems on the personal front, the ultra-speed son Shastic, dreaming of a superhero career, but who needs help in mathematics, and the baby Jack-Jack, with whom it seems no problems (it turns out to be the opposite). Together, the Super Family will undoubtedly save the world!
Also returning is the charming Lucius Best - aka Freon, with freezing powers, the best friend of the Parr family, will always come to their aid. And also Anda Maude - superhero fashion designer who appeared in the film for 5 minutes, made a complete furor! Duo ' Aunts' Enda and Jack-Jack - without a doubt the best moment of the film!
Among the new heroes are brother and sister Winston and Evelyn Dever, a brilliant entrepreneur and brilliant inventor who together managed to create the largest telecommunications company in the world. They also let the heroes prove themselves. And yet, it is worth looking at them better - interesting personalities.
To sum up, Supresemyka 2 gave me an incomparable pleasure when watching. I have no doubt that I will review it again. But! Still, no matter how cool the sequel would be, in my opinion, the original he could not beat (of all such projects, only the 3rd part of Toy Story managed this). They might disagree with me. But still, I will always love Pixar’s creations and will always expect new and original cartoons from them!

That’s what happens when studio bosses start jumping on current trends. The continuation of the cartoon, which once captured my heart, had to wait fourteen years. During this time, the genre of superhero cinema has undergone a lot of things: good and bad, funny and gloomy, multimillion-dollar blockbusters and low-budget series, solo books and crossovers, about heroes and antiheroes, and most importantly pro 'Superheroine'. And it seems that such a concept as ' Superhero' should not be divided by gender, but the creators 'Superfamily 2' do not believe so. Yes, and look around, at DC the last successful film 'Wonder Woman', Marvel is preparing for release 'Captain Marvel' (this is the tautology), and Netflix continue to spin 'Jessica Jones'. And so Pixar fell neatly into the commercial pit of feminism, although I think there are big, famous mouse ears behind all this. Oh, come on.
The picture begins with self-copying. Heroes, as in the beginning of the first part, again act openly, although no one has legalized them, but by coincidence they are again declared outlawed. The task of regaining the trust of their professional activities falls on the shoulders of Elastica, whose main criterion for choosing a candidate is her ability, namely, the resulting minimal damage to the urban structure. And here comes the first bell. What about Fryon? After all, its ability not only does not destroy, but it is also more productive in protecting that very urban structure. However, the script parries some graphs, research, figures, and the main characters we have the Parr family. We did. But right after that, we see a dramatic change in Bob's character. Do you remember how at the end of the first movie he was worried about his family and was willing to sacrifice himself to save them? Forget it. He is now a narcissistic, vain egotist. He is offended that he was not chosen to be a hero, because he is Mr. Exceptional, but still sends his wife on a dubious mission, in order to regain his authority.
Following the character, abilities also changed. The male characters were deliberately weakened. It's the male characters. Shastic is fast, but not like Flash or Mercury, not like him in the first part, he is just fast. Mr. Exceptional is strong, but not like Superman or the Hulk, not like him in the first movie, he's just strong. All male characters look weak, faded, stupid and indefinite against the background of female characters. The exception is Jack-Jack (but in my opinion, he belongs to a separate category of characters - 'Children') and Fryon (not because he is black?). By the way, Fryon is the only less interesting male character in this film. Waiting for spin off.
Of course it’s a children’s cartoon, it’s all nitpicking and all that. Then why the hell couldn't the characters be left unchanged? Let them change, spoil or become better, but in the course of the story, not at the click of a finger. It was possible to make Helen the main character, but at the same time not to make Bob a hysterical, weak, narcissistic egoist, not to make Shastic stupid, weak-headed, not to make secondary characters stupid. Look, the script would have been more logical. After all, most of the problems arise from the unwillingness of the characters to use their abilities at least half the force. However, then the villain would be weaker and goodbye to feminism in the picture. As for me, all the problems 'Superfamily 2' the result of cramming the idea of female superiority. The creators of the cartoon do not try to draw a subtle semantic parallel or hint at the hidden text between the lines, they just stick their opinion in your face. Come on, let's go. It seems that the tape was created exclusively for children and their mothers.
At the same time, the picture has a number of advantages. First of all, it's an amazing graphic. The picture is full of colors, it is very bright and pleasant, a couple of times there was even a very decent action. The first battle with the antagonist took the top of the tension. The suspense level was twisted just to the maximum. And that's in the children's cartoon. The soundtrack remained the same, which very successfully plays on the strings of nostalgia for the first part and everyone’s favorite bond. Except that against the background of various advanced technologies, the atmosphere of the 70s disappeared, the entourage is of course present, but does not play a special role in the perception.
In general . Beautiful cartoon with good places, dynamics. The plot is simple, twists were made specifically for children. All this looks quite easy and should be ideal for a cozy evening, if not for the dying streams of feminism pouring from the screen.
P. S. I couldn’t ignore it.
Cartoon normal, you can watch. But the cartoon teaches nothing, and the main negative character - the Scranotiran, oddly enough, turns out to be more moral and says clever things: ' You brainless fools need superheroes because you want to replace real life with a simulation. You don't talk to each other, you watch a talk show. You don’t play games, you watch TV games. Travel, love, risk, everything that is valuable in life should be served in a familiar package for you to see on the screen. You do not want to think about something unpleasant, you want to remain passive insatiable consumers who are too lazy to get up from the couch, work hard and start living their lives to the fullest. ..' However, the cartoon deliberately distorts the morality of Ekranotiran. After all, cunning corporations need stupid people who watch the zombie box, and in this style raise children with such cartoons, giving the right things through the mouth of the antagonist, so that children have doubts about their correctness.
Superhero movies don’t surprise anyone these days. Numerous film adaptations of comics about a huge number of superheroes with supernatural abilities entered our lives quite quickly and almost immediately turned into one of the basic layers of cinema. Especially now. When the creation of these films is put on the conveyor stream and does not even think to stop. However, created even when the superheroic was not a trend of the "Superfamily" Brad Bird became one of the first bricks of the modern genre of superheroics and it is nice that after 14 years it returned.
The story begins exactly where the first film ends. Huntingly picking up the events of the first picture, as if a break of 14 years between both tapes did not even exist. Having defeated another villain, the superfamily again finds itself in the center of a scandal to ban superhero activity. An influential media mogul decides to change the situation and attracts Elastica to return the image of superheroes. Mr. Exceptional has no choice but to care for the children, do homework and keep the house burning. However, everything changes when a new and powerful supervillain emerges.
The naked eye can see that the script of this tape was written under the topics of concern to the modern community. Starting with Elastica, who weighs the burden of the “breadwinner of the family”, a strong woman and a superheroine in one bottle and ending with Mr. Exceptional, who turns into a kind of housewife and similar phenomena of feminization on the screen literally through. However, all this is presented on the screen so competently that not only does not unnerve, but also looks the most competent approach to the continuation of the story. Not only not repeating the first film, but also taking it to a new level. Albeit with echoes of "Guardians" Alan Moore, but in a purely children's version.
Given that the main star of the story is Elastica, Mr. Exceptional and their children are less "heroes." Which is bad. However, on the other hand, it is the greater emphasis on their civilian lives that reveals their characters even better and from more unexpected angles. That can not but delight and allows you to look at all of them from new angles.
Despite the repeatedly mentioned break of 14 years between both films, the director of this film Brad Bird managed to recreate the spirit, color, atmosphere and mood of the original tape as much as possible on the screen. Which is a pleasure. Again creating the impression of retro-superheroics with an admixture of old-school Bondiana and Mission Impossible of the last century. Which is perfectly played both in terms of the atmosphere and the magnificent music of composer Michael Giacchino.
Of course, it is impossible not to mention the magnificent animation, which was one of the strongest sides of every work of Pixar studio. However, this is where she got her apotheosis. On the one hand, the animation pays homage to the first part and recreates it almost one at a time. On the other hand, over 14 years, technology has greatly advanced and this has affected the quality of animation from the best side. Allowed to endow the screen characters with extremely lively and natural facial expressions. All these folds under the eyes, wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes, facial compressions and other details of the natural emotions of the characters look so convincing and natural, as if you watch real people and capture when watching the tape most of all.
The Parr Super Family has not changed at all. Watching the whole family is still pleasant and they are willing to empathize, and the return of almost all the original caste with their favorite voices only strengthens the impression. However, it is worth noting that the main star of the family in this film was the charming Jack Jack, who willingly steals the film at every appearance on the screen and pulls almost most of the funny moments of the picture on his fragile shoulders. As for the main villain, it was not difficult to guess about his personality in the context of changing the narrative vector of the tape. However, it has not become less interesting.

Superfamily 2 is a completely unexpected and at the same time long-awaited return of the beloved cartoon after a 14-year break. Obviously, similar to the Cars triquel and the Monsters Corporation sequel, the film was made primarily to make money. However, the bar to keep the authors still managed. The film turned out to be just as easy, fun, exciting, interesting, instructive and very funny and it doesn’t matter that it turned out a little worse than the original film. This is not a bad thing to do.
First of all, I want to write that I, like many other moviegoers, believe that Pixar is, if not the best, then at least one of the best animation studios. For about 20 years, they have delighted us with their creations. Pixar's sixth full-length work was The Super Family, released in 2004. The success was enormous. In addition to financial success, the film was waiting for many awards, including an Oscar for best animated film. Could the sequel repeat the success of the original? Let's figure it out.
We live in a time when the main films of the year are superhero films, and Hollywood is turned on tolerance, releasing films with social commentary on the themes of feminism, racism, etc. And at first glance, it might seem like Super Family 2 is going to make fun of both superhero movies and these feminist movies, but it’s not that clear. The trailer shows that the main characters remain the same, but the film changes the focus from the story of Mr. Exceptional (Bob), to the story of Elastica (Helen), which may already seem feminist undertones, but it is not. The film does not address the issue of gender discrimination at all, which is only for the better. It's the same mood, and it's the same idea in the first part that still exists. Which is a pleasure. Family values mixed with the ridicule of the superhero gives the viewer a unique viewing experience that only Pixar can provide. Of the minuses of the picture, I want to note only the weak final plot twist, but still having the right to exist.
Speaking of animated films, it is impossible not to mention animation. It is here (as not surprisingly) incomparable, as well as action moments, of which there are not few.
So this flight is no worse than the original. But in terms of commercial success, she is two heads higher than her brother, which is not surprising, knowing how the audience now relates to superhero cinema. I bet that at least the Oscar nomination for best animated film is assured.
P.S. We are looking forward to Toy Story 4.
Throughout the viewing, I felt like I had already seen it somewhere. By the middle it came: The superfamily managed to steal the plot ... by itself! The first part.
Heroes, who before that, like, developed and learned to cooperate, back stupid and can not even leave a baby on someone in the family, while ravaging the city, catching the villain.
The main superhero storyline is obvious, it will not be able to cheat & #39; not even a small child. It's too clumsy. From the first minute it is clear who the villain is, and even the motive is clear. Just like in the first part.
It should be interesting to look at 'home' part of the picture, but...
Children are nasty, capricious and stupid to the point of insanity. It is clear that here they play the role of ' Teenagers, who will then get smarter and pick up' but you can not be such a hero to fool! Shastic is blunt, Violet is hysterical, and in the scene 'Jack-Jack vs. Raccoon' I was genuinely rooting for the animal.
It was a shame to see Mr. Exceptional as an exceptional idiot. ' Husband-got-poor' turned out to be bad as a superhero, a worthless worker, a handy housekeeper, a disgusting teacher and an axe psychologist... Complete set! If not for the rating of the picture, he would definitely drink in the middle!
Not touching. Heroes do not want to be sympathetic.
Not funny. All the humor for young children, level ' plush-babah'.
I am surprised by the positive reviews of this film. I think it's a rarity.
I don't know how to write good reviews. I'll write as I can.
In the movie I did not go to this cartoon and did not regret for a second. I didn’t expect such outright propaganda from a seemingly children’s work. Those who say 'oh, don't worry, it's funny because' look further through the rose windows, I will refrain.
Here on the site have already left a review about ' feminism of the brain'. As sad as it may be, I agree with all 100.
The problem is that now no work, be it a movie, a series, now an animated film, can be published without mandatory characters.
The mandatory characters include: Black (for example, the recent noise about the witch), Asians, gays or lezbukhs, strong independent women, weak men. And imagine how this limits the plot, when you have to shove all sorts of useless elements.
All right, on the plot. The plot openly copies the first part, as well as self-copy.
From the first part, an antagonist is taken, then the achievements of the first film are crossed out. That is, they fought there to be allowed, plus they worked together there and began to act as a team, and then at the beginning of the picture they are again banned and all of a sudden EGO played out. Next, after the ban of the heads of the villains, they are pulled out into the light to... ban again!!? Where are you from?
By characters. About the rollback of the achievements of the first part wrote.
Batya again depresses about the lack of superheroes, whines, made a housewife in favor of modern trends. Plus, he's an absolute mattress who can't do anything without his wife, again, it's clear why. Even as generally disgusting trying to take advantage of the appointment of his wife, for a place to be happy for her.
The story with her is exactly like in the first part with the father. After the ban, they called for superheroes without officialdom. She doesn't really want it, but she's doing it. Interestingly, in general, it is more traditional views of the family. She wants to be with the kids more. Only now society (including the antagonist) imposes on her a way of thinking that this is not true, that it is necessary to come out of the shadow of the peasants and take their place. In general, it destroys his personal views.
Daughter - back the problems of the first part, with a guy. It's already a messy reception. She's like a brain on a team of kids.
The son (older) is the most expressionless character, if he is removed from the story nothing changes. His superpower did not help anyone except his grandmother in the beginning.
The son (small) - with him exactly one funny moment when he fought with an animal. On the other hand, in the same scene it is shown that for the slightest misconduct, one must beat and even almost kill, if forces allow.
The rest, a set of mandatory characters.
Of course, the graphics here are cool, although the style is peculiar (super-thin daughter, pasted mother, father's closet). The special effects are cool, as is the action scene. I like the facial expressions of the characters in the cartoons from the pixel, very expressively shown.
Of the pluses, a couple of funny moments, but they are like spoiler almost all in the trailers.

That's just visual. Everything else didn't go.
P. I watched the first one ten times and I liked it.
In 2004, the world saw one of the most famous cartoons of Pixar Studio - the Super Family. I can’t say that it differed by some too complex plot or unexpected twists – it was essentially a linear action movie with clearly defined characters, heroes, villain and in this cartoon in its place was absolutely everything. He at the same time entertained with jokes and visual parts, fascinated with charismatic characters (including a villain who was not so good, but it was interesting to watch him), and in the label from the action Pixar, according to his custom, wrapped the idea of family values, problems and everything. Painfully banal theme, which often rises in the works of the studio, but it was woven into the narrative organically and did not distract from anything. After the release, the cartoon gathered its horde of fans, but at one time the production of the sequel was in no hurry to start. Apparently, at that time, Pixar could still afford to appreciate single projects and started projects only when they really had something to say. It may be argued that Toy Story 2' was previously released, but it did have a new story and raised other questions about the first part. As for the further history of the studio - after it became a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company - a meaningless and merciless conveyor line began to start slowly. Initially, the studio had mostly original projects, but then began to appear Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monster University, etc., among which were both ups (Finding Dory, a great example of a quality sequel) and loud falls, as came out with Cars 2. I get the point, I think. Started milking old franchises with increased activity. And finally, the conveyor reached the Superfamily.
What can you say about the new studio cartoon? Usually, sequels are created either for fans, for example, the third Riddick. His quality is not to be judged in this review, but it was made precisely for fans who, in particular, harnessed themselves on the kickstarter as they could. Or when there is some idea that you want to convey, as in the same second Terminator. Or just for the money and nothing more. The latter includes most sequels, which is why they are so bad. The order for the shooting appears before the idea, which is then tortured in the suffering within the walls of the studio. 14 years have passed since the release of the first Super Family, and what can the studio show the audience? Did they have enough time to form a new idea, story, message? No way. Mistake, 'Oh, how uncomfortable it was'.
The sequel, released after the first cartoon after 14 years, is not able to surprise anything, is not able to tell anything. I'm not talking about the new one - he even presents old ideas as if the script was written on his knee a few hours before the deadline. From the point of view of technical implementation, Pixar is as always on top. Chic video sequence, excellent animation, live characters, camera setting, lighting, frame composition. The technical side of cartoons released from under the wing of Pixar is generally difficult to find fault with, because the best of the best work on them. But in terms of the plot... The beginning of the cartoon almost completely repeats the first part. Why are we being shown what we have already seen? The middle is absolutely predictable, and even if I were to write here who is the main villain, it can be understood almost as soon as we are introduced to all the actors. Too banal, too predictable. Thought... I said, 'predictably'? Not exactly. The plot is so simple that in the end it turns out to be even easier than you can imagine. Even those ideas that exist - they are underwrote, underdeveloped and where a certain plot twist is directly requested - it does not exist. Maybe the new villain has his own complicated and intricate story, why does he do it? No, rather, the Sicilian children's fairy tale ' Vendetta' and, as in many stupid projects, the task of the Glavgade by the end of the story becomes that which was already implemented BEFORE he began to implement his plan (well, it makes sense for the antagonist to twitch and do something was not, because in the end it was to bring the story to the beginning from which it began). Stupid, impractical, labor-intensive. Maybe we've at least been portrayed as an interesting person. No, the syndrome from the first part was much more charismatic and interesting as a character.
In the new cartoon did not use any of the potentials that he had. Yes, there was Jack-Jack in it, only on his abilities you could steer if not a cool plot - then some mind-blowing action (just think - Super cartoon). In fact, the studio simply did not take advantage of what was under her nose, and instead rolled out a beautiful, dynamic and well-implemented from a technical point of view project, which in its internal content was much weaker than the original, which itself could not boast of the depth of the plot. This is just an unfortunate clone of the first cartoon, which, as my teacher at uni said, "Disliked" & #39; Even with the platitude of the plot, it could still be a kosher sequel, with an interesting villain and an unexpected ending. In fact, an ordinary passing cartoon was released, in which nothing is remembered at all, and only a visual can be praised. But should the studio be praised for its flawless image, when in recent years it has never stumbled in this place? I'm not sure. And more praise in fact and nothing for this time... I want to believe that Disney will not squeeze all the juices out of Pixar, forcing them to rivet stupid sequels, but judging by their plan for the next decade - one can only hope that the Super Family was only unloading before the next flight. So far, I have a stretched 6, solely for the quality of technical work and animation.
Ironically, this is a purely commercial sequel, whose spirit can be immediately declared in the repetition of the original material, indeed the story continues. Yes, Super Family 2 begins where the first film ends, ignoring the fact that in 14 years the superhero genre has become the main engine of the modern Hollywood machine. It is impossible to imagine a world without superheroes. The first film used familiar genre techniques and even touched the backstreets of a household story about how difficult it is to find a balance between family and calling. The sequel, well, feels a bit banal at first and almost sucked out of the finger... until it becomes clear that director Brad Bird’s creative vision has not gone anywhere: new animation, a new saga, new problems and, of course, new thoughts.
The Parr family’s efforts to save the city have been futile, with too many resources being spent by the government covering up the results of superhero battles. Alas, the program of the revival of superheroes is closed and all superheroes are outlawed again. On Mr. Exceptional, Elastica and Freon comes the mysterious millionaire Winston and his sister – technical genius Evelyn. The couple is interested in returning to the superheroes of trust and wants to sponsor their activities. Since Mr. Exceptional is considered, well, too "exceptional" (read - destructive), the object of sympathy of the inhabitants should be Elastica while her husband babysits the children. Elastic faces the villain Scranotiran, and Bob tries to help Shastic with algebra, Violet with transitional problems, and Jack-Jack with a host of discovered superpowers.
From the annotation and the main reference, it seems at first that Pixar suggest the viewer the same thing. Bob was replaced by Helen, and overall, well, the story stayed the same. However, at some point everything changes. Intangible, but at the same time destroys as the whole conceived concept, creating a completely new work. When Bob steps out of his comfort zone and Helen re-enacts the superhero life, Super Family 2 becomes a good satire/image of a modern progressive family. Of course, you can blame the sequel for the monotony, since many scenes consist only of Elastica’s efforts to save the city and Bob’s exasperated attempts to cope with the offspring, but both of these storylines work on their own, while complementing each other, and finally forming a common world of local slightly naive retro superheroic.
Like many other Pixar cartoons, The Super Family 2 presents a reconciliation of the worldly with the supernatural. Parr parents want to be both super and parent, but they live in a world that forces them to choose one thing. The characters are forced to come into conflict with themselves, even to some extent developing the thoughts of the supervillain Syndrome from the first film: the world must be either super or ordinary. All this perfectly complements both the original work and develops the characters, although at first glance, again, it seems that they are spiritually standing still.
Speaking of villains. The elusive Scranotiran wants to free society from its "crutches" - superheroes. To reveal his plan in more detail means entering the territory of spoilers, but it is quite curious to watch the villain circulating through the screens, given the current time of smartphones.
In "Superfamily 2" on the stage come and new characters, and come back old. As before, one of the key creative contributions is the jazz soundtrack, retrofuturism design and, of course, pleasing eye animation.
A rare sequel justifies the expectation of fans. Super Family 2 is just such a case. Some critics initially questioned the need for a sequel to an animated film, but the magic of exploring the modern family through the prism of fiction works in this case: watching you can learn what is important and what is not; revisiting the problems associated with choosing the perfect balance between work and home; and reflect on the messages related to changing family and gender roles. It’s interesting to see because it’s true.
What a failure. Fiasco. The cartoon is absolutely not worthy of the attention of the viewer. Harmful propaganda.
1. The creators did not even bother to link the plot with the first part. The second seems to exist separately. Heroes do not remember what happened to them in the first cartoon about the family.
2. The theme of feminism permeates every plot. It seems that the authors were very worried that they would touch the feelings of feminists, the oppressed, minorities, everyone who does not turn the arrow. And thus, women, girls, girls were idealized as much as possible, and all male heroes are exposed as fools. Whether it is the mother of the family, on which her whole family rests first (without her a stupid husband can do nothing), and then the whole world at her feet. And they contrast this couple with a brother and sister. And if a sister is a brain, it is the very concentration, thoughtfulness, then a brother is a mattress, a short-sighted good man who does not notice anything under his own nose, who is easily deceived.
3. Standard turn of events. A hundred times the topic was discussed, in which they discussed the ratio of benefits from the activities of “special” people and harm from their potential strength, which depends on their mood, on whose side they are on. The plot of this cartoon will be interesting to a child of 6-7 years. Everyone who is older will immediately “unravel” the insidious plans of negative characters. And it will be especially boring to see how slowly it all comes to the superfamily.
4. We didn't understand why all the other superhumans were shown to be underdeveloped. Is this point 2, so as not to overlook the theme of people with disabilities, that even a person with brain damage can be a hero? Because only disease can explain the behavior of characters. The girl nicknamed "Empty" in every possible way licked, courted the great superheroine ... to nausea ... And even in these vile scenes, logic is zero. Emptiness at first says that, they say, I adore you, I do not know what to say, but then sharply begins to show their skills, to boast. It’s a strange way to express admiration for another person by showing your personal accomplishments unrelated to that person. And the Brick hero, what is that? His performance reminded me of Groot, with the catchphrase: “I am Groot!” "I am the Brick." Then we were introduced to a gay man who controls electricity. I would like to highlight the issue of minority... And in order not to infringe people by age, the old man turned on, who jokes about super-diseases. Reflux, I think. In general, it is striking that the collection of secondary super characters is specially divided as much as possible according to racial characteristics, external, intellectual, so that God forbid someone did not accuse the authors of oppression of the minority.
Conclusion. It is so mean to zombify children with the help of a hype cartoon. Take as an example the scene where Sister Evelyn says to Elastica, it is pleasant to come out of the shadow of Mr. Exceptional (husband)! They are discussing that the world is patriarchal now, but things will change soon. And this cartoon is one of the bricks for building a new world where women are the crowns of creation, and men must fall at their feet. And every day to feel guilty, especially white men with a traditional orientation. Only an adult can be involved in these feminism and oppression squabbles. It's a cartoon! Oh, pity the kids! Don't brainwash children!
Only animators tried, there are no complaints about this.
So, the Zakowian treaty again? So, what did we get in a cartoon that we've been waiting 14 years for? In a cartoon that grossed over a billion greens at the box office? Original story? New interesting heroes? The original soundtrack? The bad guy? Nope. We got a typical Disney sequel to a successful movie. Disney loves to milk franchises. This time we didn’t miss out.
There are many successful decisions in the cartoon, but they pale against the background of frank hacking, script holes and secondary events.
The strange decision was to start the film where the original ended. To put it mildly, it does not look natural after such a long break. For grown children and especially - for the baby would be much more pleasant to watch.
Expected a scene with a villain-earthman from the first part? Forget it, it will be leaked in the first 20 minutes and it will never be remembered in a movie.
Do you want new trends? Keep an ode to feminism and tolerance. Superheroes aren't like us, we don't understand them, they're lonely... well, so are minorities, yes. Nothing bad, but it's the pressure on the cartoon, and you can feel it. In Part 3, Violet will probably be a lesbian.
You want new heroes? Get nameless freaks that even just look disgusting. Why does the big bully look so much like Ralph's ad? Nice move, Disney. Some old man who pukes fire, a bird man, a mad woman with portals. I kept waiting for them to disappear from the screens, but for some reason they were woven into the plot.
Want to see the superheroes? Their problems, their internal conflicts? Overcoming yourself, the victim? Well, here's algebra, here's a whining girl, here's a selfish father half-time, here's a little more algebra, more algebra, more self-repeating. What was the moral? Family values? Has anything changed, the characters somehow changed, made any conclusions?
I don’t really want to be sad, 6+. But I'm sorry, why would you rewrite the original story? For the baby in the first part made a costume. Elasticity knew perfectly well that he was super, too. So what was the drama about it?
Did anyone doubt the film’s main villain? Even to write about this laziness, they also did not try.
Shastic runs slower, can not catch up with the baby right in front of him. We won’t do anything with stunned enemies either, or the film will end quickly.
Plus Jack-Jack and Agent Kay with the washer. The rest is a spit in the face of fans, a disposable kinzo that will never eclipse the original. We're waiting for part three. I want to hear another joke about Lucious not letting his wife go. The third time will be funnier than the first.
This cartoon cannot be considered separately from its first part, because their plots have many relationships and logical continuations. Without knowledge of the problem points of the first series and the peculiarities of the relationships of some characters, not everything can be perceived in its entirety.
Here, the central “evil” idea was extremely ill-conceived, not impressive, not terrifying in its consequences. After all, viewers do not really care about the inner self-esteem of individual superheroes, so the danger of depriving them of certain privileges and status is only their personal problems, and they could not hurt outside observers for the living. In practical terms, it all boiled down to the bravura rescue of a group of faceless international representatives - nothing interesting! And the so-called “problem” was solved not thanks to the titanic efforts of superheroes, but mostly, as is usually the case, thanks to a chain of accidents and luck. Miss anywhere by a millimeter, slow down somewhere for a moment - it will entail serious problems or even disaster. But fireworks of chance is the main bet in such film projects.
To shift the accents or somehow sharpen the internal contradictions could not even at the expense of appealing to the audience emotions. Just once again clumsily exploited the inner world of a rather prosperous family of well-known “supers” from the first part, and the “universal evil” turned out to be just some stupid and unimpressive, with poorly thought out motivation and even worse implementation of the goal. As a result, the viewer was forced to “compassion” and “sympathize” with the girl with her teenage “problem”, then sleepless boogie in a feverish pursuit of the title of “good father” and for the recognition of his talents by his wife. Boring! The abundant rush of soulfulness, intrigue and complementarity of various elements, as in the first part, still failed. Joint decisive battle with the forces of evil was very dynamic and turbulent, so it is difficult to evaluate or highlight someone’s talents. However, according to the written plot, Elastica soloed the most, but still her character did not receive any development at all.
Speaking of heroes, it should be noted the bright novelty in the superfamily in the person of a baby (except for the short film of 2005 “Jack-Jack Attacks”). The troubled kid turned out to be too versatile and unpredictable in his abilities, a kind of multi-starter from whom you could expect anything. Literally. Including sudden problems that no one knew how to deal with. This uncertainty did not contribute to the positive emotions of viewing. And it is strange to expect a disposition towards a character who unintentionally, not out of evil, at any moment could accidentally organize a fire, destroy something, maim a person or even kill him. Even the most human being, not to mention other living beings. And presenting all this in a comedic form is instilling bad taste and irresponsibility in viewers incapable of critical thinking. I'm against it, because it's about children.
The rest of the central characters did not shine with anything special and new, except for the motorcycle at Elastica, and the process of “pumping” fatherly skills of the head of the family. The son-runner turned out of all the grayest and most invisible “mouse”. Again, he impressed with his skills "Morozko", instantly materializing ice from the air in any volume. In other words, the family of superheroes did not get any development, but remained at the same level of relationship that was achieved at the end of the first part. Not counting the "explosion hazard" of the baby.
Speaking about the plot, it is striking to borrow an idea from the film Cheaper Wholesale, where for the sake of the success of his wife, the head of the family remains to look after the school children and experiences various difficulties with them. You didn’t have to invent anything – take it and use it. The only thing I had to “fantasize” was the ability to give Jack-Jack, and the result of these fantasies is puzzling. . .
A serious plot hole can be considered the idea with the character of the Mole (or whatever his name was), so grandiose appeared at the end of the first part and with which this began. Oddly enough, the heroes are not fighting it together, but each in his own way, which again makes them not a single family, but only a group of diverse individuals. But it's not that bad, and that under the fate of the Mole was never drawn a line. He just disappeared from sight, although he caused considerable damage to the city. Consequently, the fight against it was in vain, and the script has a significant incompleteness.
Many secondary characters of superheroes turned out to be absolutely faceless and uninteresting. Only some of their features were developed into something more or less acceptable that could be shown. The rest is a stupid masquerade and extras.
It is believed that the creators deliberately focused on the fashion trend of modernity about the possibility of replacing gender roles in the family. I will not agree, because this topic is played here as a forced temporary measure, so it is hardly worth indignating on this score. Would it be a bad thing if at some point the father spent more time with the children? . .
Studio "Pixar" has always been distinguished by a quality product, so this film is an extra reminder of their skill and talents. Needless to say, colorfulness, musicality and attention to detail. Everything is at the top, as always.
Conclusion. As thoughtful, original and interesting was the first cartoon “Superfamily”, especially in the correct translation of the Goblin, so undescript, secondary and passable was its continuation.
However, it is still not a bad cartoon, it is made very qualitatively and looks with interest. Fans of the first part are unlikely to find it a worthy and impressive continuation. Thank you for making some progress over the past fourteen years!
PS
Let's wait another fourteen years, maybe they'll deal with the Mole? . .

I’m not going to talk about free and advanced superpowers. After all, depending on the direction of the individual, they can be disposed of both for the good and for the evil of society. And here the whole system of human education, ideology, etc. becomes the main focus. And taking into account the central idea of the modern world order, it is doubtful that there could be good and selfless powers of this world in the system of Western mentality.

The Super Family is a cartoon of my childhood. I had a complicated relationship with him: when I watched it for the first time, I didn’t like it: it was too long, too complicated, and in addition, I had it on a disk on which the Russian soundtrack lay at the same volume as the original voiceover, which made half of the cartoon impossible to make out what the characters were talking about. But that's in the past, then I watched the cartoon in dubbing, I really liked it and now it's one of my favorite cartoons. And, of course, I was waiting for a sequel, because the ending was so spectacular, but the years went by, there was no sequel. And when I didn't think about it, the sequel came out. On the one hand, I was happy, on the other, there were concerns, because sequels usually parasitize the glory of the original and whether Brad Bird will be able to create something original, a second time.
And unfortunately not. The plot of “Superfamily 2” revolves around the fact that our heroes again broke during the battle with Podryvashkin and now they want to ban them, because they are dangerous to society. I look and think, isn’t that the story of the first cartoon? There was the same thing and it seems that the heroes eventually regained their reputation, for what? In the second cartoon everything is new again? So the third cartoon will also start.
But apart from the plot plot, I must admit, otherwise the cartoon is good. First, there was a change of main characters. Now Elastica is the main superhero, and the Exceptional is on the household. And the part about Elastic is beyond praise. The action associated with it, made simply gorgeous. I especially liked the scenes with the train, helicopter and TV station, where everything is filmed as if “from one take”, i.e. the camera follows Elastica and from one angle is shown as jumping on the roofs. It is really very driven, in this cartoon, yes, rose above the first part, having managed to make a cooler action.
I even liked the scene where Elastica discusses with one of the heroines the topic of “Women in the First Roles”, whether they have the right to do so. A rather subtle banter against feminism and the “women in the lead” trend.
The Exceptional part is good, too. I have not forgotten the main theme: family. Even though Elastica is on assignment, it's not shown to be selfish, it's shown to be concerned about her family, and Exceptional is also trying to be a good father. In general, the theme of the family is still shown from the good side, that the superfamily cares about each other and all its members are ready to give their lives for each other. But there's no comedy. The cartoon is full of funny moments (the scene with a raccoon does not count), which makes it really fun to watch.
And in the cartoon there is a villain - Scranotiran. Mixed feelings caused, seemingly, a good villain, but seemingly stupid. He hates superheroes because he thinks they turn people into apathetic slackers who rely on them. He has a motive, you only have to listen to one of his speeches from a television station to love a cartoon. It's a really good idea that people living in a consumer society are totally dependent on superheroes, and that makes them even more vulnerable. I watched and thought, "Bravo Pixar!" in a children's cartoon insert such a childish thought, it really deserves respect.
But beyond this phrase, the villain does not develop. It doesn't have the same color as Syndrome. It appears only a couple of times, and eventually it is drained. And the fun is that his thoughts do not refute. That is, he drives about the “unnecessary superheroes” that because of them people become dependent on them. According to the laws of the genre, superheroes make adjustments to his plans and it turns out that they ... do exactly what the ekranotiran warned about, they save humanity and are again responsible for "these people." That's why the theme didn't evolve, why was it even brought into the story if it wasn't used at all. With the same success, the Scranotiran could just want to conquer the world like all other supervillains.
One of the downsides is Podrivashkin! I said Ekranotiran was leaked, no, Podryvashkin was also leaked. First, he turns out to be a simple bank robber, not a world invader. Why then did you appear on the surface, why did you push this pathetic speech, if then you again went underground and began to rob a bank? And you know what happened to him? It's drained, vanished right in the middle. What's the joke? The first cartoon ended so well, we waited 14 years, the outcome of the battle with him, and in the end he just disappeared, and he is not remembered until the end. In the first cartoon, Brad Bird introduced the terrorist Voyage Bomb, which simply disappeared for no reason, and in this Podrivashkin who also disappeared.
Conclusion: I still think that "Super Family 2" is more of a crisis of ideas in Pixar than an attempt to create a masterpiece, because I will not believe that creating a sequel in 14 years is a desire to continue the story. This is a trend that includes both Finding Dory and Cars 3 and the upcoming Toy Story 4. But I have to admit, Brad Bird did everything in his power to make the sequel candy. The cartoon is also colorful, filled with action and drive, and family values. Of course, in scale it is inferior to the first cartoon. The first was a battle on an island, here on a ship. The first one was Syndrome - here... Scranotiran. But in general, this is a good cartoon and I believe that you can go to it with children, and for the sake of objectivity, "Super Family 2" looks like a really organic cartoon, in contrast to "Finding Dory", which against the background of its predecessor greatly faded.

P.S. I hope someday Pixar will make a sequel to The Adventures of Flick, it was such a good cartoon. And that Easter egg from Toy Story 2 is still tormented by doubts.
It's like there haven't been fourteen years. The villain Podrivashker, who plowed the street of Muniziberg with a mining machine at the end of the first film, at the beginning of the second gets to the underground vault of the bank. The super family rushes into battle. Bob and Helen manage to save the city hall, but Podrivashker manages to undermine trust in the heroes: the collateral damage is so great that the authorities again outlaw supers. After the trial, the Parrov family is forced to settle in a motel and lead a joyless existence.
But Bob will no longer have to try on the costume of a private cog in a monotonous social mechanism. The Super Family is contacted by Winston Dever, a telecommunications magnate, owner of DEVTECH and hereditary fan of the heroes. He moves the family to a luxury home and is going to make a difference, effectively presenting the work of superheroes of the television audience.
Look - who is forcing the intersections of the metropolis on a steep bike? Who's a cheerful grasshopper galloping on city rooftops? Who is chasing to cool spy music in an emergency helicopter? Who writes spectacular lulls to villains in a cramped booth? Not long ago, we'd be like, Ethan Hunt! Ethan Hunt! But everything flows rapidly, everything changes rapidly, and Tom Cruise is replaced by Helen Parr (Elastica is chosen by Dever for pilot TV shows - as the owner of the best benefit / destruction ratio). Tom, for all his merits and superpowers “eternal youth”, is just a person – the physical limitations of the body and the properties of space do not allow him to overcome Pixar artists.
How many times have I vowed to stop admiring their technique – well, talented and experienced guys work with a budget of two hundred million – so many times I have broken my word. So let this admiration become a good tradition. This time, among other things, bright, dynamic, inventive, flawless, breathtaking, pay attention to Bob's shirt. It really shows the villi, walking on the Internet screenshot was not fake. This is truly incredible.
Elastic solo on world TV screens, Bob sits at home with the kids. This is the only tribute to the permanent screenwriter and director of “Superfamily” Brad Bird modern Hollywood counter-patriarchal, profeminist and other similar sentiments. If it's a tribute at all. No one suspects that “Tootsy” or “Only Girls in Jazz” are the products of the transvestite lobby. In any case, the gender traits in this film are in perfect order – look at Bob’s shoulders, or rather at Helen’s hips – and the situation mentioned above is perfectly built into the plot.
During Bob's home duty, the wild growth of little Jack-Jack's under-control superpowers takes place. Contrary to fears that humor in short pants will slide into tenderness and sluss, it turned out very funny. Try to imagine how a baby sneezes with almost uncontrollable fires, self-copies, transitions to the fourth dimension, penetrations through walls and laser shooting from the eyes.
Excellent, no worse than the past, the spy-superhero story is decorated with an antagonist who is more interesting than the Syndrome from the first part. This is not some resentful teenager, not a money-hungry techie, not a maniac obsessed with absolute power. Screenslaver (well, as they could, translated Screenslaver) is an ideological and modern villain, guided by current social issues. Not only the Screenwriter from the screens, but also everyone-no-hit plus everyone-no-lazy talk about the detrimental influence of the virtual world, broadcast in real lives of people. That we are no longer the ones, traveling not with a backpack, but with Google, not playing, but watching games, not participating, but observing, not living, but imitating. They were tanned and toned, and became loose and short-sighted. Screenslaver hypnotizes the human herd through familiar and beloved screens and creates evil with the hands of superheroes. Those who, in his opinion, are evil, because of which people have lost the ability to solve problems on their own. The fact that the forces of good for survival are forced to use teleprom adds irony to the confrontation.
The film is quite mature in meaning, much older than the declared rating of “6+”, but still it is not only for adults. Therefore, the paths laid by Brad Bird do not lead to the dark depths, but turn to the bright side. Is it possible that the answer to the question – did humanity understand anything, did it draw conclusions? The heroes are back in line. You're very excited about the same R-rated story. What if you got Elastic star disease and left your family? What does she look like topless? Wouldn't the lover and cheated Violet take pills? Would the insomniac Bob catch the super-vigorously tossed Jack-Jack?
But I was dreaming. So far we have what we have. And we have a lot – another animated Pixar studio of the highest category, spectacular and meaningful. Becoming an unconditional masterpiece prevents him from a positive bias. There is a lot of really funny in it, but there is no really sad at all. As we know from Pixar’s unquestionable masterpiece Puzzle, there is no joy without sorrow, no happiness without suffering. But Brad Bird is not to blame, in the chosen genre he did everything he could (let me repeat again – the film is wonderful, run to watch). In order to cry over a superhero movie, a superhero must be killed. And for that, Brad lacks a rating.
After analyzing the situation in general, I am not so surprised that no one noticed what exactly screwed up ' Superfamily 2'. After people began to walk under the impressions of Infinity War & #39, they would only superhero action movies and serve. And yes, they got what they wanted - a superhero action movie. Let's get this straight.
No one asked for this sequel. It seems that Disney, fearing that Pixar would shoot something original again, made them play the lottery, and accidentally chose the film for the sequel (' Finding Dory', ' Cars 3' and 'Wall·And 2' along the way were also chosen in this way). 15 years, Carl! Yes, I was glad that the sequel began to shoot, but then I somehow began to look at it obliquely. In fact, that’s why I watched the movie so late, it didn’t pull me to it. And after I left the theater, I understood why.
Secondly, this is not a Pixar movie. I mean, if I didn't know Pixar was filming it, I wouldn't believe Pixar was filming it. The studio lost all the soul it put into the first part. The first film was primarily about family problems, about a midlife crisis, and only then about a superhero; the second film was primarily about superheroics, and only then about family problems and about the transitional age, which takes ten minutes. Moreover, even family problems are associated with the superpowers of Jack Jack. This movie literally sticks in your face the fact that this cartoon is about superheroes.
- Yeah, baby, that's what this movie is about. You want to see it, don't you?
- I'd rather watch the Marvel movies.
Third, the story. I don’t want to spoil it, but I’ll talk about it, so there won’t be much detail. Do you know the motivation of the villain? His father was killed by criminals because the latter, instead of hiding, called superheroes for help. But they didn't come! So Scranotiran (oh, wow! better not translate that name) ... so Screenslaver hated all superheroes. Bravo! Motivation of the Year!
- I will kill you and all the superheroes because my father was a moron! And I inherited that gene, too. And became a moron!
Don’t worry, you’ll know who the villain is. I did it halfway through the movie, even though my friend got ahead of me and did it even earlier.
As a result, I want to say that... I will not say anything. I already said it. The only thing I don't know is how to evaluate this picture. As a superhero movie, it was not bad! 7 out of 10. (' Ant Man and Wasp' were cooler). And like the movie Pixar ... shit. Worse only ' Cars 2' 4 out of 10. I take the middle grade, but I give priority down. Pixar, this is your last chance.
The film is a success

P. S. Dear Raccoon, this place is only for plot-key things. Please leave the poster!
What can contain bad super-hero movies, which narrate the opposition between the forces of good and evil, where superheroes, identified with the forces of good at the end of the film to solemn music send villains of the underworld. Such films with superhero content already exist for every age category.
In the superhero-film confrontation between superheroes on one side and supervillains on the other, superheroes commit the same dubious acts as supervillains against the backdrop of their unfolding events. To achieve their ambitious goals, superheroes resort to the use of any methods, techniques, methods and means, not almost different from the actions and actions of the supervillain. The main difference between the superhero and his opponent is that the plot of the movie superheroes act as protagonists and are positioned from the positive side.
Superheroes, like rivals, have destructive power. This can be seen in the battles and battles that unfold between them, with devastating consequences for society and causing loss of life.
It should be noted that destructiveness is also manifested in the imitation of the viewer by a superhero. Their superhuman abilities are falsely admired by the viewer. The deception lies, in particular, in the fact that one can be equal to a real person or, at least, a realistic artistic character. Imitation and admiration of a fan of a superhero is actually a retreat into an illusory world, and in fact is indistinguishable from computer addiction, in which the player gradually absorbs consciousness into virtual reality.
This is a kind of escapism, similar to what happens with the consciousness of a fan, in which he, like a computer player, seeks to escape from reality into a world of illusions, fantasies.
Based on the above, we can say that superheroes do not positively influence society, do not broadcast creative ideas or good role models to the audience.
Modern cinema gradually and systematically begins to displace the image of real heroes and real role models, and replaces them with artificial ones. Superheroes privatized and became monopolists in the film industry, replacing real heroism and real feat.
Superhero films, in addition to the presence of violence, aggression and cruelty, instill bad habits through the images of the superhero, such as egocentrism, permissiveness and shamelessness. Through such concepts, the viewer is promoted promiscuity, vulgarity, debauchery, perversion, the use of alcoholic beverages or drugs.
This can be observed in the example of superhero action films released in 2016, such as “Deadpool 39” and “Suicide Squad 39”, which are a side effect of Marvel and DC Comics. These films are frankly destructive, with immoral content, and are aimed at moral corruption and degradation of the viewer.
The only real image in superhero movies with which the viewer associates himself is one of the representatives of the extras, who is destined to die under the rubble of crumbling buildings, or become a lucky one, saved at the last minute. To be or become a hero in the Marvel and DC Comics universe, you need to have superpowers, or at least have a supersuit, and if you don’t have both, you’re #39; nobody.
This is the main negative message that these films broadcast: the world is ruled by superheroes, and the lot of ordinary people is to be a gray mass and silently wait for the arrival of saviors. People are mere mortals, they cannot change anything. The maximum that they are allowed is to servilely look at their idol or ask for his autograph.
Now for the computer animated film Super Family 2.
Viewers watching animated films produced by Pixar Studios know that his works convey family values. However, not everyone thinks that often the bearer of family values is not a person, but an anthropomorphic creature. This category may include representatives of the flora ('Finding Nemo', 'Ratatouille', 'Good Dinosaur' etc.), toys (franchise 'Toy Story'), robots ('WALL-I') and others.
In the above films, there is a contrast between anthropomorphic beings on the one hand and people on the other. The former are shown to be more humane, spiritualized, moral, advanced, that is, they carry the best human qualities in contrast to the latter, which are noticeably lagging behind in terms of moral and spiritual development.
Moreover, humans are the source of the problem for anthropomorphic creatures. Remember at least the development of the plot of any of the above cartoons. So, it would be incorrect to claim that Pixar products are exclusively positive.
It is sad to realize that Pixar, following Disney, produces, for the most part, cartoons that are aimed at instilling harmful ideas of tolerance, such as blurring the concepts of good and evil, positivity of evil, discrediting and devaluing the image of the parent, promoting juvenile justice, transhumanism and much more.
No exception to the animated continuation of the Superfamily.
I will not disassemble the cartoon in detail, but only try to analyze the motivation of the antagonist of this animated film.
So, the antagonist is Evelyn, sister of telecom magnate and DEVTECH owner Winston Dever. She is an engineering and technical genius who has earned her business reputation thanks to the inventions of modern high-tech devices.
As a child, Evelyn experienced trauma as her father, a big fan of superheroes, instead of fleeing, decides to wait for the help of superheroes when robbers burst into his house. Of course, he died because no superhero came to his aid in the armed robbery of his home. Agree, this is an extremely rash act. A person should hope and rely on his efforts, first of all, on himself, and not rely on the help of others. Naturally, faced with such an incident, Evelyn decided to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in the future.
As I titled my review, under the guise of the Superfamily, and in general superheroes, masked mass media, i.e. television, cinema, etc. Modern mass media is a structureless management of society. Confirmation of the above is a quote from the words of Ekranotiran, which clearly characterizes the consumer society, which has spread widely throughout the world in the context of globalization. The tools of distribution are the mass media.
In summary, Evelyn tried to expose the activities of the media, advocating for its moral and spiritual revival, and the whole plot of the Super Family 2 was aimed at its inconsistency.
The plot of the Super Family imposes that superheroes were slandered, that they will necessarily save everyone, that for this you only need to wait and believe.
It was Disney and Pixar who put Evelyn in a helpless position, turned her into a joke, found a way to defame her and declare her a scum of society.
It can also be briefly mentioned that in the continuation of the Super Family there was a gender reshuffle of family roles.
Naturally, critics were very favorable to this phenomenon, gave enthusiastic reviews. on world websites-aggregators such as Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, IMDB put quite a high rating, not taking into account that the skivel was weaker than the original, its plot is mediocre, and the story only changed from the original. When a destructive model is promoted, these indicators are leveled in the eyes of critics.
Neither Edna, nor Jack-Jack, nor the soundtrack of the cartoon saved this egregious picture.
This picture is the main contender for the victory in the nomination of the best feature-length animated film. The Oscars are designed to reward films that promote negative trends in society.
It's been fourteen years since the original "Super Family" came out in film distribution. A lot of people have come of age since that time (including me), and the movie is only a couple of months old. The fact is not surprising, just concretizing and funny. Disney has gone through different times, releasing both unsuccessful paintings and successful in the box office sense. Recently, the studio began to return old cartoons, which were released in the interval from the nineties to zero years. During this time, we saw the end of the trilogy “Cars”, and the spin-off “Finding Nemo” – “Finding Dory”, and the return to the big screens of “Star Wars”, of which there have been too many lately. Not many people were pleased with this way of development of the company, but there was nothing to do - we cannot change the plans of the big bosses. Only hope that their ideas can find a worthy continuation in the series.
At two thousand and four, when the studio executives had no plans for a Marvel film adaptation, they had to absorb ideas about superheroes in animated cartoons. Don’t say that, but before Disney created cartoons better. They were more original, and excessive stamping did not look so annoying. What was created specifically for the sake of the relevance of the modern world, minimized the need for quality. Though the ideas about supers were not new at that time, but the “Super Family” depicted it as an unclichéd plot, albeit with a trivial antagonist and his ideas. What distinguishes dilogy is meaning in creation. If the first was necessary in a time frame, where it was necessary to depict all the charms of good and evil, the second is a storyline for the problems of the modern world. What really annoys everyone (almost) and what you need to think about. The sequel is not so much interested in the villain as in his motives. And that's really good.
The time of production is the time of reflection. Many fans of the original were no longer happy, but wondered: “What is the sequel for?” Of course, if there are interesting ideas for a sequel, you can create something like this, but watching the trailers, the synopsis, and the information provided about the sequel, to say that the sequel was necessary for the sake of the box office was more likely than to say that it was all for the sake of fans and the need to continue. Time passed, and a ton of information poured out of the studio, but there was not much hope for something good. Fans were still fed promises, hung up their ears with noodles, saying that the sequel will continue the favorite that every fan liked the original.
But the prime minister died down and, as is usually the case, journalists and publications were divided into two sides: Those who liked the movie and not quite. The situation is standard – who should I trust? The conclusion could be drawn from the details attributed to each reviewer: The cartoon, as promised, continues the corporate style, which was in the original. The sequel continues to bend its plot, set fourteen years ago. And most importantly, neither imagery nor spectator load on what is happening suffers from this. The only thing that every waiting viewer was ready to agree with (and accept) - the role of the antagonist is again on the secondary plane, inferior in importance to the main characters. This should not be the case.
In a world where social problems are the problems of everyone, all this makes its way not only into social existence, but also into art cinema. In particular, the sequel was criticized for excessive reference to feminism. This was manifested both in the allocation of the main role of Helen Parr, "Elastica" ("Mr. Exceptional" was the main one in the first part), and in the preference of the main villainous role to a woman. If judged reasonably, feminism here and a few kilometers away does not smell, and discrimination of the male sex - even more so. You can find such emancipation in a variety of paintings that are up to the cartoon, where this time they decided to change the story arcs of the main characters. If all time for Elastica is feminism, how do you call raising a child Bob? Maternal indignity or what? In my opinion, children will still get a dose of pleasure from seeing the cartoon, whatever it is. And for a more adult audience, it's an opportunity to get your part of the attraction to watch the sequel wanted rather than had to. In addition, such a change of plans was interesting, to match what is happening in many couples just in our time.
The sequel did not shake up, giving the audience a once again unsuccessful face in terms of villainous appearance. No, not in the sense that your face doesn't look like you. Just once again we were given a worthless antagonist, who is “not capable of either,” but interesting motives. The syndrome, in the first part, was no villain, even worthless, but its aims were excellent. The villain is about nothing, but the argumentation is at the highest level (almost). Disney simply does not have time to reveal all the ideas completely, because of too interrupted the idea of replacing the main role with a female one. But if you dig deep, there is something similar between the two actors. Not exactly, but on a small level something identical flashes.
So, "Did you need a sequel?" Looking towards Disney, you can find more interesting cartoons, but. “Superfamily 2” is an interesting sequel, with a well-regarded plot and not saturated with unnecessary problems of the world of cinema. The picture attracts viewers with humor, some of which (jokes) really amuse not only children. The picture is not disappointing and you can see it at least once.
Recently, being in the country, I was happy to watch cartoons on cassettes. Along with other creations, Pixar admired the first Superfamily in the translation of the Goblin.
Comparing the two films, I do not find in the sequel:
- Aesthetics of the 60s, which was incredibly accurate and stylish
- Jokes and dialogues for a diverse audience
- A clear and thoughtful villain, whose fate makes you think
- Details, invention, invented technologies that savored in the first part.
I also didn't like the dubbing with the constant notes of hysteria (I don't know if it's close to the original). Characters do not breathe originality, characters are simplified and flattened. The chase is banal, as is the plot twist.
I like how they talk about equality in the family.
There were times when I laughed, but not that.
Of course, the film is bright and colorful, but it's usually for Disney and Pixar.
Bottom line: A one-time children's cartoon that tries to be interesting for all ages, but does not reach a truly family spectacle.
6 out of 10
It is very difficult for a family in which everyone has superpowers to live as an ordinary, average unit of society. Kids also want to be famous for their superhero abilities. Duty to the homeland and humanity, service to society - all this must be done by superheroes, it gives them human joy. “Mr. Exceptional,” as the head of the family, takes the upbringing of children into his own hands. I liked the little Jack Jack in the movie. His childhood laughter reminded me of young families with happy children.
In general, the cartoon raises the theme “moms, on whose shoulders lie all household duties”. How hard it can be for them, can understand only dads who have decided to take into their own hands the family responsibilities of raising children and solving family affairs. The world always needs superheroes to protect the earth from supervillains. Responsible parents are heroes like superheroes with superpowers. They perform everyday feats, raising their curious children. This cartoon is an anthem to all parents who care about the future of their children, about their proper upbringing, proper feeding.
This book is for families with more than one child. Children in this cartoon will see the themes of “jealousy to parents”, “how the smallest is left in the care of older children”, “how dads get tired of baby babies”, “how teenage girls are ashamed to approach the boy they like”. Women’s domestic work is invisible and incomprehensible to their husbands and children. But in the 21st century, women can not only do household chores, but also provide their families with high wages. A wife can feed her husband and children, and this does not seem like a super idea.
“Raising children properly is a heroic thing” – this phrase reveals the whole plot of the cartoon. It is very good that the villain is guessed at the very beginning of the cartoon (this is a real Disney school). And the viewer is left to guess what the villain will end up with. The idea of “the wife can work and provide for the family, while the husband, having abandoned all things, raises children” is very well revealed in this cartoon.
After members of the Parr family, known as the Exceptionals, saved the city from the villain Podryvashker, they thought that now superheroes would be treated with due respect. Alas, the government has a slightly different opinion, since the salvation of mankind was accompanied by a significant disruption on the part of the heroes. So the program "Protecting Supers" is closed and now the Exceptionals have to huddle in a small hotel under the guise of ordinary people. But suddenly they are approached by media mogul Winston Dever, who invites them to take part in secret operations in order to regain the trust of the world in superheroes. However, for these purposes, he chooses not Mr. Exceptional, but his wife Elastica, who causes much less damage by her activities.
After the great success of the first “Super Family” and “Ratatua”, director Brad Bird did not engage in animation projects for several years. The more pleasant was the surprise that the sequel to the “Superfamily” did not turn out to be a step backwards, as it was with “Finding Dory”, but stood almost on the same level with the original. In addition to the computer miracles that have dramatically stepped forward over the years and the bloody drive and spectacular episodes, the Super Family has moved to witty irony about family problems, when fathers have to learn lessons with their children, and the mother suddenly becomes the main earner. The authors introduce into the story a lot of funny details, subtly noted nuances in the relationships of the characters, fascinate even if not very twisted, but interesting detective line, and, of course, entertain in full. This is not a thoughtless stunt attraction, but a very bright, spectacular, not stupid and exciting action, told with humor, soul and feeling. Of course, if you wish, you can find fault that sometimes dramaturgy is sacrificed to dynamics, drive and all sorts of “beauties”. But, looking at the "Superfamily-2", you do not want to do this completely, because this picture is necessary for you and your children as not only a great summer entertainment, but also will be just a good reason for a family trip to the movies.
P. S. dads, by the way, the film will go one hundred percent, because in the hall they watched the cartoon with an open mouth, while almost every second mother, completely abstracted from both the screen and her child, stuck to Instagram.
Let’s start with a small excursion into history, the first part of the series was released in 2004. 14 years have passed since the premiere, and it seems like the previous part came out a couple of years ago. And it would seem to whom this film may be interesting, because most of the audience in the hall even then was not in the world, and those who saw, are unlikely to want to watch another children's cartoon, they say, have grown up already? But Pixar did, and I'll tell you how.
First of all, don’t forget that Pixar is an animation studio that tries to increase the quality of its picture literally from film to film. For comparison, take Toy Story, which came out in 1995, and for example, The Secret of Coco (2017). You'll just get overwhelmed by the quality of the picture. And in this film, you can see literally every piece of the suit, every fold, even on the projector screen. I've earned a lot of money: D
The second item is the plot. I won’t say that the writers of genius, “story twists” I predicted while watching the trailer. Good story. So you can describe, there is no such “wow” effect. The story is about the family, about the relationship in the family between children and parents. About the fact that although you are superheroes, you should help your child solve homework or look after the baby so that he eats, sleeps and does not go to another space (more on this below). The story is that everyone has their own responsibilities in the family and regardless of whether you are Mr. Exceptional and save everyone around, or you are Elastica, who became a mother and looks after the house and children, it is all important for the preservation and existence of your family. Once again, a good and simple plot, just in time for a summer movie.
The action of the film begins when the first part ends, as if the second series of the series, and not the film, began.
Heroes have not changed a bit and you will know them from the first minute. This time, Mrs. Elastica (Helen) comes to the fore, not Mr. Exceptional (Bob), as it was in the first part. Their children Shastic and Violet are mostly supporting characters, and only at the end of the film begin to play an important role in the plot. Superhero activity is banned and our characters receive an offer from a certain Winston Diavor to revive the status of superheroes. And to perform this task, they choose Elasticity, not Exceptional, which significantly hits the ego of the once star personality. Husband and wife switch places. Bob does household chores, which seemed like an easy task at first, and Helen is a superhero. What is important to note in the film there are a couple of good jokes, and humor in general is kept on average, but no one said that this will be a film for “beating”.
The third point is the main characters and villains. I think it was good to tell the story of Helen, but Bob was not forgotten – it turns out that we are watching two mini-scenes at the same time, which is catchy in its own way. Of the children, the baby Jack was noted, more showed his superpowers and in general it turned out that he will always have many abilities, due to the fact that he is a polymorph, that is, he combines several superfluffs at once. That’s exactly what in the minus of the picture is the villain, he is too guessed and very typical and even to some extent stupid in his intentions. If you compare with the same Syndrome (the villain from the first part), then this antagonist looks quite bad.
7 out of 10
If you want to get an easy, kind, simple film with beautiful animation, then go to the movies, you will not regret it for sure!
