Accidentally included and not from the very beginning of the film, so the first novel by Renata Litvinova almost missed.
But then it became interesting. 'Girls' - the recognition of good actresses interesting to me - is already pleasant, although their conversations can not be called pleasant, there is nothing particularly new for me, but what they came to - already warms the soul, otherwise it would not be possible.
'Morning' - a pleasant sketch transparent as watercolor with blurry and half-hints, but without beauty and parade, there is still something to catch.
' Selfie' - almost a clown in the essence of history. I really enjoyed it.
'Anichkov Bridge' - surprise, joy, delight in the plot of the novel and plus my love - Polina Kutepova.
'Concert' - I adore Ukolova everywhere and always, and here again and because of what and how it is done here.
The last novel with the circus from Boyarsky is a pleasure.
How much I love Chicago!
I’ll start with a bit corny: what did you want to see from the movie? That is exactly what was stated in his annotation.
To quote her first line: In St. Petersburg it is easy to feel in love. It is easy to decide on adventures here.
This is enough to present romantic and daring, crazy and cocky love collisions among St. Petersburg streets and courtyards. The bid for spectacle is very high. Moreover, I recently watched the work of Anna Melikyan “About Love”, where very skillfully, with a dose of humor and peppers, manifestations of love in the capital metropolis are shown. And here the city of creators and masters, working people and intellectuals, bandits and poets. Magic in essence. It was possible to submit such heartwarming stories that would remain in memory for a long time. I remember, by the way, the famous clip of the band "Animal Jazz" three strips. That would be a story, but to develop into a full-fledged feature film.
But in the end, expectations were not met completely. On the screen appeared faded and absurd stories, causing sensations similar to eating sour cottage cheese. And I'm not exaggerating.
To begin with, there is no film as such. There is a collection of short films that follow each other through the fade (black field, in other words). That is, the most primitive way is taken: not to unite different novels with a single dramaturgy, as in the very picture About Love by Anna Melikyan, and not even to alternate them through some lyrical shots of St. Petersburg, but simply to divide them with a black background. It's not fun anymore.
But, alas, the stories themselves were not able to arouse interest, because they looked like coursework by students of specialized universities.
Separately, perhaps I would like to highlight the film about "Anichkov Bridge", telling about the difficult share of the guide. And giving a very interesting, almost mystical, interpretation of the sculptures on that bridge. And it's beautiful, talking. But even here was not without a hard blunder. It's no joke: a bus with a tour is sickening on Anichkov Bridge in a dense traffic jam. When tourists get off the bus and cross the bridge, the road is empty. Disappearing traffic? Mysticism. Not otherwise.
Another short film that left at least some trace in the memory and awakened emotions is about the concert. It has its own drama and its own little human tragedy. Not a young woman who has not achieved anything worthwhile in life: a rented apartment, old furniture, a dress borrowed, and the absence of a man, is trying to somehow attach to the life of her child. And the cost of trying to do so has a somewhat shocking effect. And it is clear that this is her only chance to try to give the child at least hope that she herself could not achieve. There's a twist to this story. And the main character was textured. And the kid played sincere. In general, I want to say one word here: I believe.
But that's it. What was shown before and after was a blizzard. I do not want to go into details, since it is a pity that these films were created in St. Petersburg, and not in some outback, where they would have been the right place.
Absolutely does not touch the heroine Anna Mikhalkova. How many times I look at Nikita Sergeevich’s publicized daughter, and the feeling that she does not know how to play at all does not leave me. He is only on the screen because of his powerful father. Therefore, all the heroines she plays cause some squeamishness. For they all come out flat.
Here, too, Michael Boyarsky, who performed some crazy pseudo-shaman, got mixed up. And what exactly the director wanted to show by introducing this hero is not too clear.
In general, the most positive, sincere and interesting characters in this short film are dogs. Respect for them.
The story of a mother and a pregnant daughter seemed like a student study. This story has no beginning, it has no end. No development, either. Another madam with a belly came to the clinic to do an ultrasound - that's the whole plot, filled with some ridiculous everyday dialogues and absurd actions to increase timekeeping.
The beginnings of the two stories seemed more vivid and youthful. The first is about a deaf-mute guy, and the second is about a girl who tried to kill herself. Up to half of those films were interesting. Good links, exciting, keep intrigue. There's momentum. There are developments. But, alas, then they turn into nothing. Completely ridiculous endings in both stories. Wild absurdity with some fat Georgian in a mask, fell into the plot like an elephant in a china shop and shattered all the positive impressions of this story – this is in one case. Otherwise, there is no final at all. When it becomes clear that the deaf-mute guy is not who he says he is, the story simply ends without any logical development.
Well, the film that preceded all this – pearl from Renata Litvinova, probably addressed only to true fans of the work of Joseph Bodsky. Perhaps only they can find some romance in this story. I, since I am not a fan of Brodsky, saw only a terrible pull and a complete inability to convey the atmosphere on the set. Sorry, but that's not how movies are made. It was more like some bad performance in a provincial theater than a shooting battle in Lenfilm. Well Know the kitchen inside, I will say one thing: nonsense. This is not the case.
But well remembered such extra characters as the grandmother of the main character, who was verbally stated in the first episode, and more so in the frame and did not appear. And some weird humpback sister. The question is: why should I have said this hump, if it is not plotted? With the same success, a heroine can cut off a leg or head (sorry for being direct) and nothing will change in the plot. It turns out that these are pure rudiments that do not carry the slightest plot load.
It is a pity that Peter in most short films became some ridiculous background, and not a full-fledged hero of the plots. The title of the film and its annotation are misleading.
In the trailer, I thought it was funny. But in fact, the film stifled me with its mundaneness and banality. The picture consists of a set of stories.
History one. Actresses are filmed in some arthouse about Brodsky. The film has already begun to stifle with this story. There was nothing interesting here. Just a normal working day on the set of a dull project. You can say that I am not educated if I do not appreciate Brodsky’s poems. But I was very bored listening to these poems and watching a normal day on the set. No interesting conversations or events. Nothing just happened. Arrived, rehearsed, removed, left. And Litvinova to me before seemed very unusual and shocking. And here she doesn't play at all. Or, on the contrary, plays an ordinary and inconspicuous woman, plus comments on the ongoing despondency.
Story two. The film continued to stifle. Now a household conversation between a mother and a pregnant daughter, which ends in politics. Super, I threw out the TV 5 years ago to listen to the debate about Stalin. I wonder why they haven't had time to discuss the prices of sausages and icicles on rooftops. Then there was the continuation of the banal dialogue.
The third story was saved by the fact that one of the characters was mute. And it turned out essentially monologue, and the degree of stuffiness decreased. But then the film again began to stifle and describe other stories do not see the point. Even the story about the choir did not touch, but seemed strange to say the least.
Actually, I get it. This is probably a film for the people of St. Petersburg. They will probably understand everything and be close. I have never been to St. Petersburg, and I have not felt the atmosphere of the city here, although it is interesting to visit there. And I could not get used to the role of one of the characters, I did not see situations close to me. I didn’t understand one word.
In the end, the picture for me turned out to be a set of mostly ordinary situations from the street or something strange. But there is an example of a good Russian film about life events "Life is ahead." There, as they say, jiza, but the stories between people are very funny shown, and not boring everyday version as here.

First of all, the context. I go to Russian language courses, and writing a review of this was my homework.
Actions of the film ' St. Petersburg Only for Love' takes place in a famous city with the same name.
The film consists of 7 plots, which takes place at approximately the same time.
As spectators, we are given a glimpse into the interconnected lives of the residents of St. Petersburg and their collective vignettes.
This includes very different, sometimes heartbreaking, but always interesting stories about many of the main characters.
The girl falls in love with a supposedly deaf-mute guy. Punk takes the princess on a city tour on her last day. Mother and child face challenges related to gender roles in society.
This is just an example of the story from this movie.
Anyway, I liked this movie.
I also liked the fact that the plots of the film did not always have a specific ending. It's very much like life. We don’t always get what we expect. The same thing is happening in St. Petersburg.
When I first saw this movie, I didn’t like it. I prepared to write a negative review, even the name it came up with – “Dislike”. And she prepared many poisonous words about the vulgarity of modern cinema and the inability of directors to tell about the most beautiful Russian city. The most beautiful city on earth.
But then I watched the movie again and finally felt it. Not the front facade that people see coming to the northern capital for a couple of days. Not a gloomy rainy city from the pages of classics and modern TV series about bandits. Peter is a city where people live. With their problems, problems, advantages and disadvantages. And Petersburg is just a decoration for their lives. But what is the performance without scenery?
The film consists of several novels shot by different directors. There are successful, there are mediocre. Let me tell you about the ones I like the most.
"Girls" Anna Parmas
A story about women, their uneasy share. A young pregnant St. Petersburg woman and her mother go to the first Uzi. Abandoned husband, fear for an unborn child, a difficult relationship with his mother - in 15 minutes we get to know the heroine, begin to sympathize and empathize with her. I am sure that this short film will resonate in the heart of every Russian woman. We are so different, but we have similar problems.
"Morning" by Oksan Bychkov
A touching sketch about the incipient love of a student and a deaf-mute guy. And let everything turn out to be not at all as simple as it was seen in the beginning, and what is happening does not look alive and true, the heart is filled with tenderness.
"Anichkov Bridge" Natalia Kudryashova
A female guide, tired of everything and everyone (each of us met one, didn’t we?) leads groups of foreign tourists to the sights of St. Petersburg. Klodt’s horses on the Anichkov Bridge, on which people from all over the world look with fading hearts - for her, only figures cast from copper, seen thousands of times and therefore uninteresting. But one meeting will change her worldview forever. She will see her city again, from the outside. And it's a little miracle, actually.
I will now say a pathetic phrase, but among the fakes for Coca-Cola and cheap beer that Russian cinema offers now, St. Petersburg. Only for love, like a glass of wine. Not the highest grades, but quite decent.
What can you expect from a film with such a romantic name, and even a wonderful city like Peter? You will want to see beautiful love stories. Love in all its manifestations. She's different. It is the impetuous love of a guy for a young girl, or, for example, the staid and trembling love of a mother for her children, and it is the totality of all these millions of the most, most different loves. A group that results in love for the city in which they live.
When I left the theater, there was only one word in my head. And the word is "pity." It is a pity for the time spent, it is a pity for the money for the ticket purchased, and it is also a pity that the city, the one that appeals to every poster, is practically not found in the film itself. Here, of course, we can refer to the fact that the dirty nooks are also part of Peter, with which I naturally do not undertake to argue. As is, part. Oh, what a mess! But then there should be such a situation: either love with a capital letter, or beautiful views of the city, amazing in its charisma. But, friends! Neither of them!! We sort of figured out the species. Let's go through the stories.
There are several stories in the film and all of them with such a claim to genius that I, a simple layman, almost none of them touched. Apparently, I also grow to understand what is so interesting here, at least in the first story - "Dreams of Brodsky", if I do not mind. Watching Renata Litvinova in furs bohemian smokes against the background of a murmuring voice behind the scenes for almost thirty minutes is, sorry, beyond my power. Although, I can gladly recommend this short meter as an excellent quick-acting sleeping pill.
In other stories, if there was a meaning, then they pulled it through a tube and unrealistically straining their cheeks. It seemed as if each of the filmed shorts was part of some other, feature-length film and it, as if pointlessly cut, somehow miraculously pasted in “Petersburg”. Only for love.
The story about a deaf-mute guy at least somehow disinhibited the hall and gave hope for a bright future, but to save the situation this piece, alas, not under force. As for the soundtrack - I can not remember any interesting compositions, and if they were, they were only the appropriate background for the madness that is happening on the screen.
In general, as they say “forewarned, and therefore armed” and only you decide whether to spend the evening watching “Petersburg”.
3 out of 10
Petersburg. Only for Love is a pleasant, but optional short dates with beautiful and talented women, St. Petersburg is just a cute bonus. At the exit there was a kind of exhibition of achievements of women's economy in the field of cinematography.
"Dreams of Joseph" by Renat Litvinov
Creativity Renata Muratovna could perfectly illustrate the adjective “pretentious”, but in small doses looks pretty cute. A sketch from the set of a strange film about Brodsky, which shoots on Lenfilm a certain Frenchwoman. There are women for every taste of varying degrees of adequacy, a couple of Brodsky and Dovlatov-Vitorgan - what else to want.
"Girls" Anna Parmas
About the difficult female share from the director you know whose clips. The short film about the ordeals of an elderly pregnant woman and her mother turned out to be strong, with good dialogue, but without enthusiasm. However, I want to see the full meter from Parmas.
"Morning" by Oksan Bychkov
An uncomplicated story of the relationship of a deaf-mute young man and a pretty girl. Everything is very simple, but you feel some inexplicable tenderness towards the heroes. Alexander Pal is always organic in the frame, only Viktor Sukhorukov and the dog are more organic than him.
Selfie by Aksinya Gog
Exalted young lady in a stunning dress came to Peter to die beautifully, in this she helps a random guy in a slack and with a hangover. It's always interesting to see weirdos. As they say, no matter what the child does, as long as the selfie is successful.
"Anichkov Bridge" Natalia Kudryashova
A female guide, permanently in apathetic state, one day meets an unusual foreign tourist. Natalia Kudryashova was not greedy and showed us more than all St. Petersburg. Something slurred-philosophical mixed with the genitals of sculpted horses and laughing Kutepova.
"Just a concert by Natalia Nazarova
A woman in a beautiful dress is in a hurry to a concert. Anna Ukolova, as always, takes a hundred. Absolutely her role: battered by life, a woman who evokes a range of feelings from disgust and irritation to pity, tears and complete acceptance at the end.
Dog Walking by Avdotya Smirnov
A middle-aged museum worker, who loves this image of Smirnov, is looking for her female happiness and walks her dog in between. Everything is very in the spirit of Avdotya Andreevna, but there is a feeling that the short film was created primarily for Boyarsky to try on a funny headdress. After the films, Smirnova is always easy on the soul, for this I love and forgive everything.
The form of the almanac seems somewhat old-fashioned. The unifying theme is quite banal and unattractive for the leitmotif of all stories. It seems to me that the expressions about dating Peter, his mystical flair and romanticism are already tired. Winter, unkempt Peter as the background and setting doesn't seem like the best choice. But if we talk about final impressions, about the aftertaste, then Petersburg turns out to be a subtle, interesting, very different film.
All the novels are different, all the novels are female, because women were filmed by directors, heroines - girls. I definitely can't pick one favorite from seven stories. I remember and left a good warm footprint. Strange and pretentious looks short film Renata Litvinova. But it's just a matter of taste and perception. I liked the work of Oksana Bychkova. She continues to shoot Nadezhda Lumpova. It's like a sequel to "Another Year." I liked the work of Avdotya Smirnova - such a very household story, which is very disposable. Perhaps the most striking work of “Selfie” by Aksignya Gogh about a girl suicide.
Pure, engaging creativity. It's true self-expression in cute, guileless and very talented works. Very cozy movie, it is true to show in autumn.
Just a concert of dreams of Joseph in the morning at the walking of dogs with girls on Anichkov Bridge, where everyone took selfies
We know many film almanacs dedicated to different cities. A similar movie has been made about St. Petersburg before. But things are different now. Only for Love is a collection of short films made by women. Subtle natures in a special way catch and transmit the trends of the “northern capital”. Every story turns into something special, and even if some of them are not so remarkable, none can be blamed for the lack of style, beauty and sensuality.
I will analyze the chronology that was directly on the screen, ignoring sites representing a different order.
Dreams of Joseph (directed by Renat Litvinov)
I'll start with the sad one. Renata could have done better. Visually satisfied, internally not. There is no proper depth, the plot undergoes instant degradation. It seems that the material is raw, like a sketch or sketch for something bigger. There is acceleration, and then there is a sudden cliff. A beautiful cliff, creating the mood for viewing the next works, but for some reason so empty that it hurts. Some characters are not revealed by almost one hundred percent. Among the advantages: the dearest Litvinova, no less cute other women and girls, a pleasant picture (up to black and white inserts) and the potential that gave a good intrigue.
Girls (directed by Anna Parmas)
A little better, though not quite. A completely everyday sketch about the difficult female share and maternal support. Heroines do not wait for men, they are used to coping themselves. Peter didn’t have anything to do with it... All right, scenery.
Morning (directed by Oksana Bychkova)
Here! That's it! We're moving from sketches to serious business. Peter is. Beautiful, not bulging to the fore, but complementing a wonderful story. Love is all the more so. The acquaintance of a mute guy and an ordinary girl at the bus stop turns into a romantic relationship. What will destroy it? What secret should be revealed? Is it all lost? However, these are words, pathetic words. The final is predictable, but well played. Events before him are also fascinating and raise the quality of the almanac literally before our eyes. Oh griffins, how touching!
Selfie (directed by Aksinya Gog)
Even better! Full of madness, which is wildly pleasant to watch. Now we worry about an infantile girl who tries to kill herself every time unsuccessfully, and a freakish guy who tries to help her every time. On the one hand, you think: “Here are morons”, on the other – you constantly laugh and chuckle. In addition, a very youthful atmosphere, transmitted to the devil colorful. The characters are recognizable and attractive, and the final is served extremely “delicious”, without frills.
Anichkov Bridge (directed by Natalia Kudryashova)
More dramatic. Here you and a symbolic tour of the Anichkov bridge, which at once makes you touch the screen, in order to draw a teaspoon of knowledge, unexpected until now. Here you have an amazing event in the life of a female guide, which led her to unexpected conclusions. Here you have a set of necessary sensations - from silent despair through stunning insight to a melancholy finale. What the hero will go through is amazing. Sometimes the most unexpected argument works wonders.
Just a concert (directed by Natalia Nazarova)
Why is it so touching, stop touching me so much. No, don't stop! Now we are talking about motherly love. The plot, which could easily turn into a standard order to parents: “Do not take revenge on children for the mistakes of youth, freaks”, turns into a family tragicomedy, destroying this slogan into tartara. Mother’s love cannot be changed or replaced. Also, there is one such unexpected turn that if you guess it, then immediately run to enroll in the society of great wizards and psychics - they will take it without a queue.
Dog Walking (directed by Avdotya Smirnov)
The final short film is no longer stronger than the previous ones, and nevertheless, does not lose its charm. The dog is subjected to numerous attempts of flirting on the part of men, but for one piquant purpose still turns to a strange shaman (in whose house there is a brilliant scene of the ritual), and after passing the test takes a surprise from fate that brings happiness. Very smoothly finish this almanac in a similar way. Don't pick on me.
It's time to sum up. "Petersburg. “Only for love” is a truly worthy declaration of love for Peter. The female directors were able to surprise. Yes, from two or three "short meters" is difficult to be delighted, but the other four or five deserve the highest praise. Insanely gentle narration, elastic language of communication with the viewer, a beautiful visual series, a lot of touching scenes - all this attracts, attracts and cherishes, making the city a sweet lollipop for all those who care for a long time or who dream of seeing Peter (perhaps even moving here). Love here is different, like the planets of our system, but always touching and genuine. The aftertaste is exceptionally pleasant. I wish there were more of them.
I was one of those who waited a long time and rushed to watch as soon as the opportunity arose. Not out of great love for the city on the Neva, not from fanaticism for our goddess, Renata, not because of "oh, she shot clips of the Cord", etc. Probably because of all this, but a little bit.
The film itself is short stories about St. Petersburg and its inhabitants. Novels are soft, light, sometimes not very believable and endlessly cute. They are thoroughly saturated with all the existing clichés about St. Petersburgers.
That’s all it says, but that doesn’t make this movie as simple as it seems. The mood of the city is transmitted by one hundred percent. And so that you do not overtake even a drop of disappointment, prevent you from comparing this film with “Paris, I Love You” or “New York, I Love You”, as my fellow travelers did in the movies. “Petersburg. "Only for Love" is not declared as a drama. He does not raise any serious social problems. Especially racial.
This is a film for autumn evening, tea and blanket.
And that's good, or we'll be dead without a movie like that.
A good movie, like wine, leaves an aftertaste.
It has long been fashionable to romanticize Peter. Perhaps it was possible to transfer events to Moscow, Rome or New York. But then history would lose its unique fleur, this touch of sadness, light nebula, intellectual St. Petersburg pathos.
The film consists of mini-stories – novels. All directors are women. Famous and not so. Of all, perhaps, Litvinova stands out with the first story. The main role, and in fact voice-over, is played by her daughter Ulyana. For me, it was a game on the verge of a foul. Maybe it's fashionable, but it's not. The stage stretches the last 1.5 minutes, when Brodsky’s poems sound.
I won't talk about everything. The stories are great, the actors are great. I couldn’t hold back the tears of Just a Concert. The music of Valery Gavrilin, his song “Mother”, performed by a choir of boys in combination with the plot turned my soul.
And the snack will be a nice story, so don't worry, you'll have time to dry your tears. Although the movie ends so suddenly! I think I will be impressed for a long time and will review it more than once.
Upd. The director of the novel “Just a Concert” is Natalia Nazarova. She is the screenwriter of such films as “Foot” (2005) and “Daughter” (2012).
"Paris, I Love You" and several faded copies, for which even the original names were not found, died down a long time ago. It is difficult to say where the idea to shoot the film almanac “Petersburg” came from. I wanted to once again give praise to the city on the Neva, to revive “Lenfilm”, playing on a win-win theme, or maybe to fight for women’s rights in the Russian film industry? Anyway, on the wide screen there was an ambiguous film almanac with the slogan “7 dates with the city”, which promised lovers in the Northern capital the atmosphere of the good old “Peter FM”, no less.
7 eminent female directors – Renata Litvinova, Anna Parmas, Avdotya Smirnova, Natalia Nazarova, Aksinya Gog, Natalia Kudryashova, Oksana Bychkova – presented to the public everything, but not novels about love for the city. St. Petersburg in these film pieces turned out to be nothing more than a background - beautiful, charming, but a background on which the characters carefully drawn by the authors were molded. The novella by Renata Litvinova at the same time disappoints more than others - an unpleasant voiceover with a gracifying "R", a surreal plot and indistinct characters in the aggregate give rise to the idea of leaving the hall and not wasting your time. Pretentious and confused, the novella “Dreams of Joseph” “floats out” only due to the comedic talent of Renata herself, who plays the main role (how else!).
“Girls” by Anna Parmas is almost the “main exhibit” of the film almanac. Anna, being a famous director of music videos, successfully copes with the novel about the relationship of an elderly mother and her elderly pregnant daughter. This good story with purely female humor makes you smile and believe that the characters continue to live after the credits, but in St. Petersburg there is not a drop, for nothing that the building of the Twelve Colleges looks like a terracotta spot from behind the backs of the heroines.
The novella “Morning”, created by Oksana Bychkova (director of the same “Peter FM”!), turned out to be perhaps the most uncomplicated and predictable. The sympathies that arise in the first minutes are replaced by boredom – and when will this girl finally open her eyes on the screen? Too sentimental story with an obvious ending is clearly not what the viewer expected from the “Petersburg” director.
The short film “Selfie” by Aksinya Gog could claim the title of a novel about St. Petersburg, if it were not hopelessly spoiled by the tense theatrical dialogues of the main characters and awkward plot twists.
“Anichkov Bridge” by Natalia Kudryashova is the only novel of the film almanac, after which you do not feel deceived: here St. Petersburg is not just a beautiful picture, but one of the main characters. The deep and subtle acting of Polina Kutepova hurts the heart, and the unambiguous message of the short film makes you return to thoughts about her after the film show. Someone may accuse the director of excessive directness and lack of “artistic”, but, having expressed this idea, one should remember that it is better to do without decorations at all than to turn the film into that brilliant fantique from Renata Litvinova, which discouraged half the hall.
The sixth novel – the work of debutante Natalia Nazarova “Just a concert” – causes bewilderment, outrage and leaves an unpleasant residue. Do you have to laugh or cry here? Where is Petersburg in this novel? What's the idea? The director does not give answers to these questions, and there is an opinion that she does not know them herself.
The final novel with the unromantic title “Dog Walking” authored by Avdotya Smirnova, it seems, is designed to console the audience exhausted by absurdity with its direct trivial humor and slightly shock Mikhail Boyarsky in the role of a shaman with a diamond. Anna Mikhalkova with the eternally sad eyes of the abandoned St. Bernard again plays her crown role - a lonely woman over 30, who is in vain trying to improve her personal life. “Dog Walking” feels like a continuation of “Cococo” Smirnova, only in lighter colors. What value does this short film have? Hard to say. Where's Petersburg in it? Apparently, the author decided that Boyarsky, as a symbol of the city, is quite enough, but no dancing with a diamond, even if performed by the most famous musketeer, the situation, alas, do not save.
To say that the whole film is a never-ending series of failures would be wrong. But the viewer, so to speak, in this callousness and dry "cake" got only 2-3 "highlights", literally on the tooth. Yeah, that's not enough. And yes, everyone expected something completely different. Unfortunately, after such “7 dates with the city” Russian cinema once again wants to quietly say “don’t call me again” and go home.

Seven dates with the city, seven strong independent women.
Petersburg. Only for love. The film is a series of short films, in the plot not related to each other. There is only one thing in common in this film. This is 7 dates with the city of seven different heroines, who directed 7 equally strong and independent women. The special charm of these paintings is not even the fact that they are all shot in picturesque places of St. Petersburg, but rather how the narrative and the plot itself are presented.
In my opinion, of some stories, if you add a little bit of detail, deepen the plot and reveal the characters, you would get a good full-length picture. The beauty of this movie is that you're going to see it and you don't expect anything special to hit you! And then you get a movie that goes more into the soul than the brain.
Each person will find in a separate short film a plot that is interesting for themselves. Three novels that I would like to highlight from all of these: “On the soloist of the boys’ choir”, “Suicide Girl”, and “Nemo Romeo”. Personally, I was more moved by the presentation of the material than its final result. It is more frustrating that each of the episodes does not have a logical conclusion and you need to think it out yourself.
The main plus, here is such a non-commercial film that you can give free rein to the director and actors, and do exactly what they love and know how to do. In fact, I would probably get free entry to these movies. When everyone decides for himself how much this film influenced him and how much the viewer considers it necessary to pay for the pleasure. Of course, this method has a significant flaw, these are unconscious citizens who want to use the free component of this method. But still, I think this film has a different mission than making a lot of money at the box office. And this goal is to introduce the viewer to another movie, not pop.
I look forward to seeing the episodes I described grow into full-length dramas, melodramas and comedies.

The film "Petersburg." “Only for Love” promised a lot in advance, since the people involved in its creation have already distinguished themselves more than once with original, witty and professional films.
The film is divided into seven separate novels, which unite perhaps only the fact that the action takes place in St. Petersburg. You can even say that they are so consonant with the energy and image of the city that nowhere else such stories would not look so organic.
In my opinion, making a full-length film from small plots is the right decision. First of all, such a move is gaining popularity again (remember at least Wild Stories or Scary Tales, although after watching the most similarities I found with the film Jarmusch “Night on Earth”). Second, all stories are the lives of little people with their little stories, their life events. These stories are small, but they are no less important. From one such story it is hardly possible to build a separate film, but as a sketch looks great, especially given the different handwriting of each director.
Comic plots have a deep drama or even tragedy and, most importantly, make not only smile, but also think about the twists and turns of the characters.
The mood of the film is generally positive, but with a unique melancholy, which is so characteristic of St. Petersburg (probably a similar mood can be felt in some clips of Leningrad, given that their director - Anna Parmas - shot one of the novels - "Girls"). Indeed, the main character, which is present in all seven stories, is a city that invisibly guides, protects and envelops both the hero and the viewer.
In addition, it is pleasant to recognize the familiar landscapes, buildings and nooks on the screen, and the picture is replete with the same as the characters with small and not so famous attractions (except for the novella Anichkov Bridge, which, I am sure, will not leave you indifferent).
I suggest you watch this movie. Filmed and played wonderfully. Nothing superfluous. Optimistic, cozy, fresh!
Sightseeing tour of the city or how to fall in love with three hundred years
In the film of seven beautiful female directors, there is no voiceover broadcasting the beauty and magic of St. Petersburg, even white nights appear only once (or not). In general, another ode to love, not banal, but very simple in its performance.
The tact begins with the wonderful voice of Renata Litvinova, she reads poetry, she appears on high red studs with a thermos of champagne in her hand, she attracts every look in the cinema for seven minutes, and does it, telling about Brodsky. “Joseph’s Dreams” is a sketch filled with extraneous noise, feathers, columns and, of course, faces. As always, in her films.
Next will be a story about girls over forty, about the first love and attempts to die on the banks of the Neva River. In the middle of the ribbon, you will definitely stop at Anichkov Bridge, considering the naked with horses with the eyes of foreigners. Run to the Capella, first, necessarily with Mikhail Boyarsky, walking your dog.
These "7 Dates" completely coincide with their hero. They, like St. Petersburg, can be a bit tedious, on weekends, for example, engaging and engaging us five days before.
It so happened that only one Russian film (from wide distribution) received unambiguous approval from critics last year - ' About Love' Anna Melikyan. In my personal rating, above all went the tape 'Patients' Ella Omelchenko, whom no one else has probably seen. It begs the conclusion that interesting films in Russia are currently made only by women.
Therefore, a fresh film almanac, shot exclusively beautiful half of the cinematic Russian world, simply by default can not be ordinary. And in combination with St. Petersburg romance, you can generally expect many surprises.
And I must say, expectations were met in almost every novel. Although moviegoers are unlikely to be mistaken, guessing the director of each episode. Here Renata Litvinova - the real Renata Litvinova, the only and unique, Avdotya Smirnova - plunges into her peculiar torment of intelligent ladies, and Aksinya Gog - hooligan and threatens to get a ban ' Roskomnadzor'. Everything looks like the quintessence of Russian cinema of the last ten years: in 'Selfi' - motifs of all forgotten 'Closed spaces', ' - poetic and allegorical answer 'Stilagam' a 'Just a concert' - like a continuation of the picture 'Cococo' A little weaker came the story of Oksana Bychkova, which is clearly tight within the framework of one novel, so that the theme of a living city inherent in all her works here is practically not disclosed.
In general, the tape should give a worthy response to the Shnurov’s song that made advertising and at the same time stigmatized St. Petersburg. This year, almost all of my friends have already visited, even those who never go anywhere, and now, with the onset of autumn melancholy, there will be a great reason to repeat. But for a different purpose. . .
