'That stupid love...' I've never seen anything worse than this. Perhaps only Brokeback Mountain and Call Me by Your Name can compete with this nasty and nasty picture. To begin with, the film is 12+. How? How did they get that rating? It's one of the most vulgar movies of my life, if you're allowed to bring parents with children, it's just disgusting. But come on, I like a lot of dirty movies. For example, "Excellent of Easy Behavior", "Stop Word", "Attack of the Titans", "Movie-43", what to say about hundreds of porn videos, but this film is terrible. He unironically mocks all possible cultural values of marriage, family and love. Again, they're not kidding, they're not making fun of anything.
There will be a reference to Mr. Robot. Why do I hate this movie so much? It begins with the wife telling her husband that they should break up and she cheated on him. First of all, the little guy rushed to the bar crying, and then he met Ryan Gosling and the latter tells him that he will make a whiner and a horse of a cool alphache, teach him how to glue telaaac, yu nou. Mmm, those pros. Mmm, women love the confident, so go and carry the shit that I taught you, and it doesn't matter that in real life, any normal woman would look at you like you're weak-minded. The man, of course, finds success and spreads his seed in the condoms of every woman he meets (12+). But suddenly he realizes that he cannot forget his wife. At this time, the underage nanny of his children falls in love with him, and the son of the man falls in love with the nanny and tells her that he masturbated on her (12+). Of course, the filmmakers make this look like real high feelings. Do you have any other reasons?
I’m not saying that women are again portrayed as some idiots who give for fake jokes. I am not saying that sex and love have been turned into a vile, disgusting substance. But every event in the film is full of absurdity. There was no normal adequate action, nothing romantic, nothing funny.
Besides, it's not clear to me how such cool actors signed up to play these wretched people. And this bang with freckles at the juvenile moron Just take my face off the shotgun... I loved the Movie 43!! There was an amazing star caste in a thrash comedy, all because it was perfect postironia, not a stupid romcom with a swing at the morality that love should be fought for. Ha!
A place of honor in the top of the worst films of my life.

I loved this movie from the very beginning. When, after a few elegant shoes, playfully touching the polished men’s shoes, there were “indifferent” sneakers, I knew this was it.
Steve Carell is an amazing actor. I haven’t seen him in thrillers and dramas (and he has such roles and is said to be good at them), but I’ve seen a lot of comedies with him. Not to say that he is different everywhere, not at all; in comedies he has about the same role: an insecure middle-aged loser. But damn it, it's always -- always! -- interesting to watch! In "This Stupid Love" in addition to Carell starred Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon, John Carroll Lynch - not the last actors of Hollywood. However, at some point I found myself that, no matter who was in the frame next to Steve, my eyes are focused mostly on him.
However, it should not be concluded that Carell is the only advantage of this romcom. He is just the icing on a layered cake, which consists of good humor, pleasant and interesting characters, funny situations and, albeit sometimes predictable, but good and kind story.
Tandem Ficarra-Recroix (these directors in the future will shoot a couple of more films and TV series, but “This Stupid Love” is just their second creation) managed not that the impossible, but that for some reason very rarely gets their colleagues on the shop. They launched several story threads, which, although not equivalent (it is clear that the central figure in the story is the character of Carell), but all of them occupy an important place in the story, are interesting for the viewer and very effectively converge on a single point in the finale.
I definitely recommend the film to all fans of the genre. This is a warm, sometimes touching, sometimes hilariously funny and homely romantic comedy. One of the best representatives of his field.
Overall impression: No matter how banal it may sound, but “This Stupid Love” is a film about love. So different: incomprehensible, adult, virgin, youthful, first! It's all about her.
GG Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) lives a very ordinary life. He has everything you can dream of: a good job, a beautiful home, wonderful children and marriage to a high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his "perfect" life quickly crumbles. Worse, in modern terms, Cal, who has not dated for a couple of decades, is a real “loha.” Depression shrouded him from head to toe. Now the man spends evenings in the bar, skipping a glass, another.
The soulful spectacle will dissipate when the charming womanizer Jacob (Ryan Gosling) comes to Cal’s aid. Trying to help Cal forget his wife and start his own life, Jacob opens his eyes to the many opportunities that open up before him: flirty women, strong drinks and a sense of style that can not be found in a cheap barbershop or sales store.
But Jacob manages to change Cal, but the most interesting thing lies ahead. Because Cal was able to change Casanova. Who else has helped who?!
Cal and Emily aren’t the only ones looking for love, and perhaps not in the right place: Cal’s thirteen-year-old son, Robbie, goes crazy for his seventeen-year-old nanny Jessica, who hides her love for his father. And despite the new appearance and new conquests on the love front, the only thing that Cal can not “resist” is his own heart, which leads him to where everything once began.
This is a very cute romantic drama that skillfully shows love from all angles. And also paying attention to the different characters of the characters, not forgetting to walk by age. How carelessly we behave at a young age, and how we weigh the steps when we are already mature. It's not just funny and cute, it's fascinating and funny.
Visually, the picture is beautiful, and the actors are one of the decorations of the film.
Yes, the film is straightforward, and hardly harbors unusual twists. However, watching you will overcome a storm of emotions. I was surprised and pleased by the fact that behind the variety of relationships, the plot does not sag, and there are no these thick layers, behind which there can be a burdensome boredom. You will laugh, be angry, somewhere even cry, but remember the movie!

The rich plot of the film interweaves immediately more than 4 love stories. Each one looks and develops differently.
The first story about those over forty, they are experiencing a midlife crisis. Cal and Emily, not knowing how to live, decide to separate. Instead of killing herself for her ex-husband, Emily hits on her colleague, with whom she had previously cheated on Cal. As for Cal, by luck, he meets a pickup trucker a dozen younger than him, Jacob. He will teach a hopeless homebody the skill of seduction. But was it necessary?
Turning to the second story, there are other heroes. Jacob and Hannah. They are a little over thirty, full of vitality and open to dating. Completely different people, faced in a strange way. But are they so different? It seemed to him what he was trying so hard to find. I had no idea about it.
And finally the third couple, I think they're the weirdest. Robbie and Jessica are teenagers who don’t know what they want out of life. She obviously doesn't like him, and he's crazy about her. But she's in love with his father Cal, hence her problems, as well as Robbie's. He tries so hard to get the girl that he does not notice the obvious signs of her love for another. In the end, for me, he'll just outgrow her, especially when she's four years older than you. This is a big difference in school years.
Humor is a separate topic. In my case, such moments I rewinded and watched again and again. Excellent cast of actors who 100% fit into the story. And the denouement that awaits the viewer at the end to make laugh even louder!

Col Weaver finds out his wife Emily cheated on him. It's about to get divorced. He moves into a rented apartment and begins to spend all evenings in a bar with a glass of alcohol, telling the story of betrayal to everyone around him. On one of these evenings, his story is heard by Jacob, a popular guy among women, and begins to help Cole establish his personal life.
The film evokes extremely positive emotions. You can’t call it pure comedy, there are scenes that really make you laugh, but there are many scenes that you can think about with the characters.
Relationships are complicated, they need to be worked on every day, and when one of the couple relaxes, they can crack. Many people find it easier not to solve the problem, as our heroine did, but to switch to something or someone to get rid of unnecessary thoughts for a while.
The film is interesting because it has several storylines, first we see one Col and Emily, then we are shown another and another.
The script is quite vital, many faced with problems that overtake the main characters. But not many people have found a way out of it.
Actors:
Steve Carell, I recently learned about such a wonderful actor. I first met him in the film “Bruce Almighty”, in which he played a cameo role, but his comedic talent was already noticeable. Next up is The Office and the movie that opened him up to me as a wide-ranging actor, Falling in Love with Brother's Bride. In this film, the character turned out to be very natural, without flirting, the viewer penetrates him, regrets, because he does not deserve the way his wife treated him. It’s very interesting to watch the character rise from his knees and start his life again, as his views and attitudes change. It's been great.
Ryan Gosling, his character is not particularly surprising. He is beautiful in both life and film. Perfectly demonstrates his athletic physique. You can't be so hot. I think when watching the movie, many girls dreamed of meeting such a man in a bar and going home with him. The character is spelled out well, it is interesting to watch how it gradually reveals itself to the audience. And again confirms that you can not judge someone at first glance.
Julianne Moore, she is not so much in this film, she fit well into the company. But her character is not sympathetic. Women do not know how to appreciate the good men who are close to her. Why she couldn't sit down and talk to her husband about something she didn't like. And most importantly, why she eventually began to tell her husband that he had changed, still began with her.
Emma Stone is a funny, typical girl who wants to marry the wrong person. She doesn't notice the groom's real attitude towards her. It reveals one of the main characters.
The directors of the film are Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, we know them from the film “I love you Phillip Morris”, so there is no doubt about the quality.
Good work of the operator, composer, editing.
The film was advised to watch my friends, in the end received “thank you”, so I recommend it for everyone.

After seeing the cast of this film, I decided to watch without thinking. Here you and Steve Carell, as always in the role of an unlucky simpleton, and Julianne Moore, the wife of the main character, who cheated on him with a colleague, played by Kevin Bacon, and Ryan Gosling - a seducer without a single miss, sexy and daring, and, having managed to fall in love with us in many films, Emma Stone, and several secondary heroes, no less interesting and cute.
The plot is not new. Cole was cheated on by his wife. After 25 years of marriage. Our hero is broken, depressed, of course, goes to the bar for a soothing portion of a hot drink, and, of course, meets him - a charming macho, confident and terribly sexy, under the pressure of which no woman can resist. Oh, miracle! This professional guru draws attention to poor Cole and decides to share his experience. The result is not long in coming - the main character decides to plunge into the abyss of debauchery, for a short time, however, since he really loves his wife. But what do we do? Fighting for your marriage or letting things go? Is there anything to fight for? The story of a thirteen-year-old teenager who fell in love with a nanny is touching, touching, but the plot about Hannah is even a little annoying - too quickly the right girl throws her, in principle, not a bad guy and hangs herself around the neck of another.
It’s not like a comedy, but rather a drama. Nevertheless, it makes you look to the end with interest. Pros: the film itself does not strain, looks easy, strong actors and their performance is commendable, there are a couple of good jokes. . .
Well, Robie, I hear you're a good footballer.
Well, David, I hear you ruined my parents' marriage.
The film itself is not stressful, it looks easy. Among the disadvantages are some illogical actions of the heroes (the same Hannah) or Jacob, about whom it seems that he does not work anywhere, but only hangs for days on clubs, raking money in all directions. And I don’t believe that people can change their beliefs and views so quickly and dramatically, if you watch the film to the end. I didn’t like the fact that Bacon was given only a few primitive replicas, you could come up with this character brighter and more expressive than that.
The result is a movie that you can probably watch once, at most two. It is unlikely that this film will be appreciated by the male audience, although I cannot confidently assert it - after all, a woman changed there. But to watch together ' husband - wife' this film may be interesting, because it raises the theme of marriage, one of the most difficult and incomprehensible things in this world. How to understand whether there is still (sometimes serious) love for the second half or not, whether it is worth trying to save the relationship or give up, and whether it is possible to forgive one and be forgiven another if someone has crossed the line of permissible.
If you like interesting stories, cute jokes, soulful conversations of characters, then definitely worth it. Another reason may be the cast, most likely one of them you like. Don’t worry, each of them has enough time to show their talents.
1.1. How does it look?
For a young viewer under 20, the beginning of the film can be difficult. I recommend you to be patient until the appearance 'Wonder Couple' in the middle of the film, then the whole plot will start to like you.
2. Acting game
The film is soulful and built on interesting dialogue. For this reason, every actor had to give his all. Everyone has done their part.
2.1. Adult couple - husband and wife
I can't understand their state and actions until they are that age. But I liked their game. A husband who was broken, but later was able to rehabilitate and a wife who did stupid things, but later was able to rethink a lot.
Favorite moment: Their conversation on the phone, when they ' pretend' solved the problem with the boiler in the basement (the burner died out).
2.2. A young couple - a guy (woman) and a girl (award)
More understandable relationships, but no less soulful. On the game of actors Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone you can admire eternity. The girl breaks her type ' groom' with her tactlessness, she priorigates (damn how it was played here!) Facial expressions, emotions, voice... just a masterpiece, get drunk and the best part of the film begins.
My favorite moment: Their heartfelt conversation in bed, when they laughed, joked, etc. And they were going to ' pranks'.
2.3. Child couple - boy (son of dad) and girl (nanny)
It was necessary to dilute the cocktails of the aforementioned older couples. They don't represent anything on their own. Don't grow up yet.
3. Results
A great movie where you can find some moral values.
• Self-flagellation, following the example of a husband, never leads to good.
• Going with the flow, following the rules, doing everything according to the instructions, following the example of an excellent girl, does not mean that you will achieve happiness, at least in your personal life. Trust the head is right, but sometimes it is worth giving free rein to emotions.
4. My review of the film and evaluation.
I watched this movie a long time ago and forgot. I watched it again at the age of 25. The main interest was to watch Emma Stone's game in the original without dubbing. My assessment of this film is very high.
Funny romantic comedy or how my attitude to the Stone-Gosling couple has changed
Pretty funny comedy. It lifts my mood, which I wanted to do when I sat down to watch the movie. Frankly, I began to look with suspicion that it would be another vulgar American dumbass with toilet humor, vulgarity, banalism and nozzle with sugar. But the suspicions were not justified. Overall, the comedy was a success. Another thing that scared me was the duet of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. I saw these actors for the first time in La La Land, a film that, in my subjective opinion, sucks. Completely stupid, boring, empty middle-class movie. It’s no wonder he’s been praised, and seems to have even been given an Oscar. In short, after la-la-land, I was convinced that Emma was a disgusting, stupid actress, despite her pretty looks. I was so disappointed, I liked the pictures. Gosling is a boring cold actor with one mine on his face.
But here they are again, now in "This Stupid Love." And I was very pleasantly surprised! Both Stone and Gosling have restored their reputation in my eyes. I mean, great actors! I don't know Emma. Now her charming appearance is really appealing, she displays vivid and even expressive emotions, but this time they look somehow natural and not repulsive like in la-la-landa. Anyway, it was nice to watch. Gosling also turned out to be a very nice guy, although at first he is kind of a creepy hanger. But despite the charm of his face, it is also not without signs of intelligence, which is really attractive.
I liked the main character. A nice uncle like that. You believe him, you sympathize with him, and you want him to do well. Julianne Moore is a beautiful woman and a good actress. It's a nice couple. But the teenagers - the nanny and the son of the main characters in love with her - were unpleasant to me. Nanny's nasty. So she's pretty, her eyes are beautiful, but how disgusting! I looked at her and realized that she was annoying me. Sweetness, some kind of stupid indecision, always half-open mouth and stupid expression of eyes. It is said that modesty adorns a woman. But she is not modest, but rather downtrodden. Especially the moment she poses in front of the camera - so asexual facial expressions and movements that it looked just pathetic. Well, you can not be such an unbridled and nasty girl - so why are you embarrassed! Although, maybe it was designed so, they say, you need to be yourself and there is nothing to get into someone else’s shoes. But it looked like it sucked.
The boy in love with her. Well, it doesn't evoke any sympathy at all. Where did they dig it up? Unpleasant face, no charisma. You have no sympathy for him at all. And you get the nanny's reaction. I really want to cut him (although I like long hair from guys, but this hairstyle is clearly not his option), make him pull up in the gym and change his wardrobe. Some creepy jackets, spoiling his already ridiculous figure. These are two characters that annoyed me.
Spoiler
He says, “Nothing, soon I will grow up and look like my father.” And then I'll come for you. What am I snorting at? Sweet boy, you'll never look like your charismatic father or your posh mother. Don't flatter yourself, put up with it and switch to another girl.
Loved the movie, as they showed their first night together. It was really cool. No banal passionate sex with sweaty body parts. You look at them and you rejoice, and people are really good together. It's so good I don't even want sex. And I want to get to know each other, talk, and everyone is clearly interested in the personality of the other. It's so rare. In reality, unfortunately, too. Find your true happiness, a person you love and she will reciprocate you. And sex is a simple matter, especially in our time.
The spoiler is over
In short, the film is funny, not stupid, kind and romantic. The mood is up. The actors are playing well.
The film in the title of which sounds the word love and at the beginning of which we are talking about divorce in most cases in a drama comedy full of all sorts of clichés. “This Stupid Love” makes a stunning unusualness, holding the viewer’s attention from beginning to end, while leaving behind a beautiful “aftertaste”.
Go
When the words “melodrama” and “comedy” are indicated in the genre of the American film, it immediately becomes clear that it is impossible to do without vulgar jokes on the verge of a foul, but in this picture such rantings of the main characters on the topic of sex are smoothed out under the influence of the beautiful charisma of the cast. The tandem represented by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, beautiful-looking Steve Carell and Juliana Moore, each of them managed to withstand their character as much as the plot required.
Funny
This is a really funny movie that evokes bouts of unstoppable laughter. At the same time, it is quite dynamic that holds the viewer’s attention, and emotionally filled, which distinguishes it from many romantic comedies. First love, struggle, passion and transformation - all the standard attributes of bad comedies here look organic and simply necessary.
Predictable
A very predictable, but nevertheless delightful movie giving beautiful, warm emotions and food of thought on the subject of love. Pictures-novels, where everything eventually merges together, these are the films that you will definitely review, and the replicas that sounded in them will enter the verbal life of the viewer for a long time.
"It's Stupid Love" is a good movie to watch alone, in company with your loved one, because despite everything, the film came out.
Love is ... strange. It's like jumping out of a car when your wife tells you she's cheating. It's like falling in love with your nanny who's in love with your father. It's like living to middle age, having slept with just one woman - whether touching to tears or really stupid. Jacob is right – long live progress, if he allows you to go to work in the afternoon, and in the evening to hang out in clubs leaving there every time with a new girl. Brunettes and blondes, and especially red like a flame - it is not known what drives them, a sudden epiphany about your boyfriend or a long-built desire to change something, but one day the on-duty set of pickup phrases will misfire, fade, giving way to sincerity on the edge - either absurd or spiritual striptease, and this is so ridiculous from the outside, but ... really understandable only to those two who are inside.
Love is... always different. For those who experience this feeling for the first time, embarrassed to stutter and feverishly burning cheeks; for those who in a midlife crisis frantically looking for the cause of the extinction of relationships, which is actually just a habit, that is also not an ice, of course, but not so critical: and for those who in the prime of years and a permanent hunt for new sensations suddenly with breathless finding out that physiology, it turns out, is not the main thing. Such a stupid, not a discovery at all, but for everyone like a maniac from around the corner - unexpectedly and suddenly.
This film is as wacky as the love it seems to describe, it is full of absurd coincidences and ridiculous actions of people that are standard and schematic enough to happen in reality. From the calculated cynicism of everyday dramas to the sweetness of romcoms, he is funny and vulgar and touching at the same time, he is full of sketches on everything from the everyday life of high school to the light erotic camera caressing Gosling’s naked back, it is almost impossible to watch in a row, but ... he is also full of what really happens to people. The way people feel. I feel it. Or you could feel it. Or I'll feel it again (maybe I don't know). It’s like a real-life snippet taken out of context, slightly Photoshopped (or not?) and shown to the public. He does not carry a special morality, does not open the bicycle and does not invent America (just like that!), he talks about what is implicitly familiar and close to everyone - that life is always moving, and therefore the only constant is change, what was not necessarily repeated, and what you love, you have to fight. The truths are capitalized to be repeated 300 times, in this case with the participation of Gosling, Stone, Karel and Moore. Unobtrusive light film, leaving a slight smile and warmth from the feeling of belonging.
When I saw the trailer, I wanted to see the movie. It was not as cool as the trailer, but still very good and interesting.
This is a story about a married couple in whose relationship comes a crisis. As a result, the wife (Julianne Moore) cheats on her husband with a colleague at work David Lindhagen (jokes about his name are pursued throughout the film). Husband (Steve Carell), learning about this, is in shock and without further words agrees to divorce. Stifling his pain with alcohol, Cal (husband) in the bar meets a very charming and attractive macho Jacob (Ryan Gosling). Jacob decides to help his new friend start a new life, making Cal a copy of himself. And he succeeds, but Cal does not like it and he dreams of returning his wife, who herself wants to return to him.
In addition to the main storyline, there are also parallel relationships between Jacob and Hannah and 13-year-old son Cal and his nanny Jessica. And as it turns out, all three stories are related.
There is a lot of good and, not least, funny humor. The film looks easy, interesting, easy. But there are a few sad moments that make you think briefly about life, about love.
Probably the only thing I didn't like was this line of Robby and Jessica. It developed well, but I don’t agree with its ending in this film. I think this is wrong, and it is also implausible.
No complaints about the actors. I really liked Steve Carell. I like movies where he doesn’t play crazy characters. Very memorable scene with "Dirty dancing" with the participation of Ryan and Emma. Ryan in it is very good, and in general with the role of a kind of macho with a deep soul he coped. I also want to highlight Analy Tipton. The whole movie was trying to remember where I saw her. It turns out that she participated in "Top American Model". I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about this, because during the viewing it did not feel that she was a famous model.
So this picture teaches us that if you meet the love of your life, you have to fight for it. A bit of a hackneyed theme, but it is presented so cool, easy and with humor that leaves a pleasant impression after watching.

A film about the feeling that is not able to resist
The co-authorship of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who worked in tandem on Bad Santa, Cats Against Dogs, Focus and I Love You Philip Maurice in 2011, gave the viewer a wonderful and inspired romantic melodrama This Stupid Love.
The film tells how a person, no matter what gender or social status, falls under the influence of perhaps the most trembling and fervent feeling - love. The plot revolves around Cal Weaver, who one day learns about the betrayal of his adored wife. After that, Cal tries to improve his life as a single man, however, over the years spent in marriage, he has moved away from all the joys of a bachelor existence and is now desperate to find himself. This is largely due to the playboy Jacob Palmer - a younger, but more experienced in seducing girls man, who takes patronage over his new friend.
The plot is largely reminiscent of a soap opera, in which it turns out that someone is someone's brother, lost husband, someone's illegitimate child or someone else, however, this is not a weakness of the film, but on the contrary, gives it a particularly pleasant shade of grace and once again makes sure that the words from one song have the ground underfoot: "Love will accidentally come ..."
“This Stupid Love” tells about the incredible number of intricacies inherent in human life and the fact that one single city is just a large village, where everyone knows everyone and meeting with a seemingly completely unfamiliar person will bring you closer not only to him, but also to the one who appeared in your life by chance. In the film there is a place for funny moments, and sad. There is love for every taste: between husband and wife, love for an older person, unrequited love, lost love, passionate love, not yet extinguished and having the opportunity for a second chance love – in short, any love that can only arise in human life.
This, even despite the tragedy in the family life of the Weaver, very kind, warm, trembling, tender, sensual, beautiful, romantic, sometimes funny and sometimes sad, frank, heartfelt and soulful movie, which can be seen alone, and together with his soul mate, and together with family - it will certainly not leave anyone indifferent, because each of us at least once in life experienced ardent feelings and they took possession of our heart, brain and soul.
In addition, this movie is also full of a wonderful caste. Moreover, Steve Carell, for example, who has established himself as a comedian, coped well with the dramatic role, and in the “Game of Downgrade” he completely showed that he is able to play serious characters. So, Steve Carell, Juliana Moore, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon, John Carroll Lynch, Marisa Tomei – agree, the composition and really stellar and incendiary, and after all, Requa and Ficarra managed to create not just a good, but beautiful and soulful cinema with such a stellar selection of performers! This is one of the few cases when the scattering of stars not only does not spoil the impression of the film, but also acts as its main decoration.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Family, adult children, infidelity, divorce, finding yourself, a midlife crisis, love, sex, talking about it all and rampant charisma and fun. Here is a brief summary.
Incredible, charming, insanely sexy and infinitely cute movie. I liked everything from and to. The story is banal, but shown, filmed just fine. All the characters are revealed, sometimes difficult situations are presented with humor, with a twist, with a sparkle, a magnificent production, excellent work of the operator, editing, music sometimes very funny, and sometimes stylish and even sensual. I really liked the small accents in the film, like dots above the "e", they did not change anything, but made the picture much more pleasant: for example, the moment of kissing a couple of main characters, when the close-up filmed his hands hugging her, and then her legs, which gently descend to the floor after a kiss. Little change, but so nice. There were a lot of them.
I liked all the characters, all the situations, all the jokes. Each character was an ordinary person (with the exception of the “photoshopped” Jacob), with their own cockroaches and truths, each of them understandable (and forgiven). The film, though not quite family, but family warm and kind, as well as cocky and a little crazy.
The acting game is simply amazing, and 100%. Steve Carell mixed his external uncomfortability, tediousness and awkwardness, and then surprised all the opposite. Julianne Moore is beautiful in the role of mother, wife and woman, who is no stranger to mistakes. The favorite scene between them is in front of school, after meeting a teacher, when it was about nine women. Ryan Gosling is the only cute and funny sex machine in the world, simply because sex machines are not cute and funny. Emma Stone is a comedian, her bulging eyes, raucous laughter and sarcastic jokes touched and laughed. I won’t paint all the others, but they were also beautiful (and Anali Tipton especially).
Very funny, beautiful, bright, sharp and seemingly frivolous film about serious things. However, some will find food for thought.
There have been so many such films... Same templates for intelligent girls aged 12-14. If you look at a set of similar American conveyor belts, it is better to choose, for example, ' Sex for Friendship' the 11th year with Mila Kunis (she, incidentally, tried unsuccessfully to imitate Emma Stone here). Or you can watch 'How to get rid of a guy in 10 days' (2003) with a much smarter character McConaughey than the unassuming image of a macho village spill depicted by Gosling.
Again, this ' picture ' refers to consumer goods for teenagers of the female sex and housekeepers. The actors didn't even have to play here - just the right facial expressions in the right places. You can only give credit to the diligent play of the main character and the appearance of Bacon in the role of an hapless lover, but this is simply catastrophic, catastrophically small. .
A beautiful comedy about love, pain and how many mistakes a person can make if someone does not force him to do everything right.
If in the first frames of the film in the restaurant the wife in response to the question of her husband What will you choose? says: "Divorce" - it is safe to say that there is something at least ironic to watch. If after another minute the mentioned husband (Steve Carell) jumps out of the car at full speed, so as not to hear the details of the infidelity of the mentioned wife (Julianne Moore), then clearly - there will be a comedy. What can we say about the further development of events: under the strict guidance of a clever pickup trucker ( Ryan Gosling), the abandoned and deceived husband goes into all serious things, while his 13-year-old son languishes with love for a 17-year-old nanny (Analei Tipton), and she, in turn, is inconsolable in love with her employer - yes, all the same unhappy husband and new-born Don Juan. And do not think that the intricacies of the plot are limited to this polygon. After all, among the heroes, it is not by chance that they are declared - a young lawyer of strict rules Hannah (Emma Stone), a sexy teacher Kate (Marisa Tomei) and David Lindhagen (Kevin Bacon), a separationist and a threat to the family hearth.
Directors and screenwriters Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who stuffed their hand on the film about same-sex love "I love you, Phillip Morris", confused the love tangle for glory. The scheme, when several parallel love stories involving people of different sexes and ages are intertwined over time into one plot, has been used more than once by the creators of romantic comedies, and it is difficult to remember a case when this scheme did not work. A big plus of the film "This Stupid Love" - dramas in this film are no less than comedies. Yes, Fincarr and Requa know how to frankly mock romance, but how does all this banter take for the soul.
The film is so skillful actors that you do not think about the quality of the roles. Every breath and blurred look is appropriate and deserved. In a romantic comedy, you rarely see a true love story.
“This Stupid Love” plunges us into a rather unusual emotional and psychological state. At first, without much effort, she suggests that this film is about you and me, since the problems raised in it did not affect only a negligible number of people. She then suggests looking at the scenarios in various situations, both negative and positive, which we have repeatedly witnessed in everyday life. We have no choice but to agree.
Watching the film will be interesting and entertaining for representatives of almost all ages. There is a story about a crumbling marriage, and the love of a young girl in an adult man, and a teenager sighing for a high school girl, and the relationship of parents and children, who are given enough attention. Love must be fought for, and the advice you give to children must be supported by your own example - these are perhaps the two main messages of this stupid love, and they are not stupid.
P.S. “Crazy, Stupid, Love” is a wonderful, soulful, sensual, simple, very instructive and correct movie, accessible to absolutely everyone. It makes us think about our lives, our relationships with family and others; about what we do right and wrong; about those we love and take their love for granted, without realizing what a miracle it really is; about how beautiful it is to be human, to love and be loved.

Let’s start with the pros: there is something to laugh about, this film is quite good to watch in the company of friends or just with a loved one. Despite the fact that the plot is banal, it still has a couple of unexpected moments.
Now for the heroes of this movie.
To me, the main character Col Weaver (Steve Carell) is a great man. Yeah, maybe he's kind of boring in some places, he doesn't dress very well, but overall... he seemed like a great person to me. He didn't whine or cry to his wife when she told him about the divorce. He took it and left. What's the problem? But we see him as a loser who needs an urgent reboot. And then Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling) falls on him, and begins to “cure”, or more precisely, to impose his lifestyle. The main character does not react to the fact that some left-wing man teaches him to live. Yes, Kol had his own problems, but the recipe for solving them was quite simple: to be more confident, take responsibility for yourself (for your family and your loved ones), not to be boring and boring, well, almost everything is the same, only without a great seduction of women, without preparing any scripts and what to say. This, in general, even good (I mean the pickup), helps to forget and know other women, but if you talk about the love of your life, it is unacceptable, I think.
Hannah Weaver (Emma Stone) is something I didn’t quite understand in this movie, or rather her actions, despite being predictable. At first he pretends to be disinterested, and then behaves completely differently. Perhaps one should not try to understand her actions logically, because she acted under the pressure of emotions.
Jessica Riley (Analie Tipton) is more of a believable story. There are no questions, because in life it really happens that we fall in love with those who do not suit us at all.
A little bit about acting.
Ryan Gosling is simply incomparable, can portray absolutely any feeling: anger, joy, insecurity / confidence, confusion, shock, calmness, anything! He does all the roles perfectly. His charisma and charm are so strong that you, to some extent, begin to adopt these qualities.
He was so good the first time we saw him in a bar and he was going up to Hannah Weaver to some great music. I immediately saw and believed that he was a ladies' man.
Steve Carell is no less excellent actor, can play both in comedies and dramas, he is able to play perfectly in both genres!
Well, the movie is about love, and I agree with all the love lines except one: the protagonist and his wife. I believe that after what he has done, he has no right to speak of the love of life.
I also find it amusing that Col calls Jacob immoral, even though he is like him, and then talks about love. There is nothing wrong with him being like him, but then you should not talk about any sublime feelings.
A typical one-time comedy melodrama. He scored one point for Ryan Gosling.
This stupid love can be taken as a relationship manual. The film allows us to trace all stages of human relationships, and in different age categories (small to great, so to speak) and in different social groups (from schoolboy Robbie to businessman-girl Jacob).
The main characters are diametrically opposed to each other, and the only thing that unites them is that all these people thirst for mutual and all-consuming love. We are shown how they are struggling to hold on to their happiness, which you can not buy, no money. "I am a wildly unhappy person: I try to buy happiness, but nothing comes out."
All the characters of this film are absolutely real and existing in the real world people we meet in everyday life.
The main characters and cast. We can safely say that absolutely all actors perfectly coped with the task set before them to convey to the viewer the experiences of their prototypes.
Let’s start with Julianne Moore, who perfectly played the role of a woman Emily Weaver, who is finally disappointed in her 25-year marriage, cheats on her husband with a colleague at work and files for divorce. She is tired of this relationship and it seems to her that their love can not be saved, but soon she begins to doubt the correctness of her choice.
Steve Carell perfectly played the role of the husband-loser Emily Cola Weaver - a man who is thrown at once "the love of his life", his best friend turns away from him, even relations with beloved children become a little awkward because of the current marital situation. Left alone with his pain and frustration, Kol tries to get comfort from someone. Complaining to all in a row about the betrayal of his wife, and at the same time, he meets his new best friend, who will help him go through the path of becoming a person from a cowardly insecure loser to a confident and courageous favorite of all women who will understand that: "For the love of life you must fight!"
Cola’s life mentor Jacob Palmer will really become a close person to him, the image of whom Ryan Gosling brought to life. Jacob is an average hero-lover, modern Casanova, who is obsessed with short-term love affairs, is afraid to once again pour out his soul to someone, soon realizes that love is not alien to him either.
The character of Ryan Gosling has trembling feelings for the insecure heroine Emma Stone — Hannah Banana, who before meeting her true love in the person of Jacob Palmer, meets, even counts on a wedding with an irresponsible guy, to whom the viewer will feel nothing but disgust. Once again, disappointed in the relationship, Hannah rushes into Jacob’s arms and realizes that he is the one she’s been waiting for all her life.
And finally, very young lovers: the 13-year-old son of the Weaver spouses performed by John Bobo Robbie, unrequitedly in love with his 17-year-old nanny Jessica, played by Anali Tipton, her heroine in turn is in love with Robbie's father, who does not even suspect this, such a love triangle. Robbie is repeatedly defeated in his futile attempts to win love from Jessica and comes to the conclusion that "there is no real love in the world." But then she says she will wait for her first and only love in Jessica for as long as it takes. Between this couple, the audience is left with a certain omission, they say that everything will end well, too.
This film is clearly not for one day, you will remember it for a long time, and project on your life and your relationship. “Crazy, Stupid, Love” tells us that it’s never too late to “make work on mistakes” in yourself and your relationships. This is a story about how to love not for something or for some reason, but against everyone and everything. "I loved her even when I hated."
This stupid love will teach its viewer never to give up and whatever difficulties may arise in the way of love, you must always fight for your love.
“I don’t know if I can fix it, I don’t know what will happen, I don’t guarantee anything.” But here's what I promise you, I won't stop trying!
I add this picture to the collection of my favorite films.
When I saw the name of Steve Carell in the title credits, a defining stereotype immediately formed in my mind: on the screen again there will be a big loser with the problems of a midlife crisis, in which everyone sees exactly the loser, but does not see his soul. In principle, a romantic comedy with elements of melodrama "This Stupid Love" turned out to be such, but it turned out to be something that I still do not understand, thanks to which this tape stands out not only among similar genre films with Steve Carell , but also among others, again genre-like, shot recently.
For former friends-writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa this picture was not the first in the directorial field, before that they have already released a comedy with the subspecies "I love you, Phillip Morris". The film did not turn heads, but took a solid audience. However, this moment could not guarantee the same success in their new production, so more thorough work was done. What came out of it? And the fact that the script from Dan Vogelman (who often worked in the field of animation) produced and concentrated on four acting characters, took its action and easy at first glance, the characters were saturated with the ideology of those whom we now see on the streets, communicate with them, those who firmly believe in the correctness of the chosen life path.
In addition, and this is the merit of the directors, too, the tape was successfully played. The most amazing thing is that Steve Carell was the most predictable character among these four. It is visible for a kilometer that the role was written for him, but Carell managed to please with a good such surge of emotions in the final scene, when everything, in the manner of Hollywood romcoms, falls into place and the heroes seem to be waiting for a happy future without storms and hurricanes. But from a more interesting side appeared Ryan Gosling. Lately, he has the role of a lone wolf, a dangerous citizen on his own mind, but not here. Here he is a kind of handsome buffoon who helps losers, but, it turns out, he not only changes girls like gloves, he also has a heart, and selfless and sensual. This role is written in a positive way.
Since we talked for the male cast of the film, we can safely remember our favorite women. In this case, there is a repetition: Julian Moore is declared as an experienced lady, and Emma Stone represents the younger generation. Honestly, I will say that Mur has somehow not conquered me, something in her is still unpleasant, especially when aggression wakes up in her, then somehow it becomes disgusting, the lady who will blame everyone but herself, in general, so it turned out. But Emma Stone, which also in comparison with Ryan Gosling had a bit of filming time, showed character and herself drew intrigue around her character. In the finale, when the hero of Gosling will open from a new side, and Emma Stone will show itself from the best side.
The film is not a deep plot, but still it has highlights, especially those that concern the similarity of the characters to us. But I also want to point out that the film is very well played and well coordinated. You will have a great time.

"This is stupid love!" we say and continue to love!
Marriage must, no, have a core. I don't know what you're thinking, but judge for yourself. People meet, fall in love, get married. Have children, a dog, a car, a house and a villa in Spain. And then, looking back, they realize that nothing holds them in this particular status, because half of their lives have been passed, and what did they manage to achieve? The children have grown up, the dog has died out, there is still not enough money for a yellow Porsche, and the once new and cozy house has already become mossy in its entirety.
A lot of people break down here. Love is called habit, happiness is called routine, peace and stability is called rotten swamp. The wreckage of former happy families begin to ply in search of new feelings, experiences, sensations. Most find adventures on the fifth point and, having clenched his tail, returns to his own lap. Someone manages to break out of the vicious circle and bring their existence to a qualitatively different level. Still others, in view of the lack of agreement with their inner “I”, suffer defeat after defeat, without reason blaming others for their own misfortunes.
But the hero of the tragicomedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love" is not like that. He will fight for his ideal until the end. There is no end and no end in sight.
... Cal Weaver's 25-year marriage ended over dinner at a restaurant. Total crème brulée, that's divorce. Before he got home, he found out that his wife was in a midlife crisis, that they were married too early, that at 44, life was just beginning, and his cloudless happiness floated into the hands of a certain David Lindhagen. Cal meekly collected the manatkas and went to a nearby bar to pour cranberry juice with vodka. Where he met the luxurious handsome Jacob, who took the yearning cuckold under his care.
Jacob as Don Giovanni with experience, despite his young age. It's all taken, it's all paid for. Pickup truck circuits worked. A couple of easy phrases, three unobtrusive compliments, a cocktail and Mademoiselle are ready to give him children. Cal and Jacob are complete opposites. The first is a single lover who has had only one woman in his life, the second hardly understands the meaning of any long-term relationship. While the young man teaches the forty-year-old peasant the basics of seizing, he, in turn, shares his life experience with him.
Cal's problem is he doesn't want to be a playboy. He wants his wife back. No, of course, the excessive attention of the opposite sex flatters him and even at first causes euphoria, but the poor guy only thinks about his beloved Emily. And she, in turn, is no longer happy with his decision, especially since the affair with a colleague-accountant aroused interest, only being a secret. So Cal and Emily go around each other. Aki the crane and the heron. Unable to admit that everyone has contributed to the marital discord its significant contribution.
In Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, everyone loves everyone. Cal loves his wife, his son-schooler Robbie secretly sighs for the nanny coming, high school student Jessica, and she, by the way, dreams of being in bed with his father. While the younger generation experiences platonic torments, parents, taking advantage of age, actively train love on a practical level. One womanizer Jacob does not like anyone, preferring sex without commitment and sentimental nonsense. But he will fall in love under the influence of the general feverish search for happiness. I will not say who, because this is the only and perhaps the most funny intrigue of the tape.
Ficarra and Requa decided to shoot their second film in a more traditional way than the debut of I Love You, Philip Morris. Apparently, the producers of the tape hinted to the writers of “Bad Santa” that if “This Stupid Love” will be the fate of their first project, then work in the future they will be more difficult to find. Let me remind you that the picture of 2008 with the participation of Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor for a long time rushed through the festivals in anticipation of at least a limited release. Getting into it after 2 years in December 2010, the tape about the adventures of a homosexual couple naturally merged, not recouping even a quarter of its incredibly modest budget by Hollywood standards.
Yasen Penh, Steve Carell, the lead actor and part-time producer of the project, was not ready to suffer losses. This time there was no provocation.
“This Stupid Love” is a rare example of modern American films, where one managed to do without vulgarity and toilet jokes. The humor in the tape is unobtrusive, light, understandable to most. It's a life situation. Divorce has become so commonplace that only a lazy person does not joke about this topic.
Comedian Steve Carell is the luckiest. Not only did he receive $15 million for his role, but he actually reprised his image from the 2005 film Forty Year Virgin. Except that Cal Weaver had at least one woman. But Ryan Gosling did a little trickery. At first, when his task was to portray a desperate womanizer and a playboy, he managed above all praise. As soon as it came to romantic fuss, Gosling got lost in the melodramatic snot of the other characters and quietly wandered against the background, trying not to highlight.
Contrary to its name, the film is not stupid. Despite the fact that all the way the characters squirm the same thought. Marriage is not a faded stamp in the passport, not a long-term and voluntary cohabitation on one roof, but the unity of souls. Love is a daily work. And that you can not shit where you eat, because offending a person is easier than simple, and returning the status quo in relationships is very difficult.

Personally, my opinion is that if the film should be funny (that is, the focus is on comedy), a particularly interesting plot is not needed. It is enough to wrap it slightly, add a couple of interesting moments and voila. I immediately want to praise the story. It was invented for fame: a bunch of ridiculous situations, colorful characters and random meetings of people who would still meet, but the first meetings dramatically changed the course of events.
Given what a powerful cast is represented in this film, perhaps it is not necessary to say that everyone coped with the task at 5+ and presented exactly those images that are necessary for the viewer to complete delight.
Yes, of course, again, these “stamps” for American comedies: macho, “gluing” girls at once; an exemplary family man who learned about his wife’s betrayal went into tears, but still loved her and, of course, pathetic speech at the end, which almost ruined the whole impression. I don’t know why I put it in almost every movie. This is something from the category: “We were shooting a comedy, you still need to shove a deep meaning, show that this film will also teach you something.” Frankly unnecessary "feature", but which does not spoil the overall impression of the film.
If we do not take into account that the plot is far from new: similar pictures were shot earlier, it is possible even that this picture is a kind of “mix” earlier created and that there were a couple of frankly stupid moments (transfer of photos by Jessica Robb) I want to say that do not compare this film. After all, you do not watch in the end in order to then say “and there was better” and just compare it with those already seen (I hope), but in order to enjoy and if you tune in to this film – you will get it.
Writers and directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are best known for their tragicomedy Bad Santa and I Love You, Philip Morris. For the first duet wrote the script, while working on the second, both retrained as directors. Their next joint project “This Stupid Love” for all its comic is not without a certain sad tone, which was inherent in the previous works of this tandem.
The marriage of Cole (Steve Carell) and Emily (Julianne Moore) Weaver finally turned into shit during the next marital dinner in the restaurant. On the way home, Cole, learning about his wife’s infidelity, is so upset that he just jumps out of the car. He tries to pour alcohol into his grief and it is in the bar that he meets pickup driver Jacob (Ryan Gosling), who has pityed the not entirely hopeless, but already practically a former married man and decided to teach him the subtleties of seduction, since the lack of family life opens up a lot of opportunities for Cole.
Ficarr and Requa came out on a rare not stupid romcom with an abundance of bright heroes, which is pleasant to watch. The cast in this film is a miracle, how good - Juliana Moore is very touching, Emma Stone is funny, and the play of Steve Carell is both touching and hilarious, Ryan Gosling is bright and seductive, well, and Marisa Tomei for a short time set on fire so that you can not forget her. Only Kevin Bacon was not allowed to turn around. But Gosling and Stone gave out almost the best Romcom duet in recent years. In general, all the characters in this picture really love, and do not depict it and it is pleasant to watch.
“This Stupid Love” is a good, pleasant romantic comedy that will not only cheer you up, but in some moments can hurt you. This is the perfect movie after a hard day at work. The script here is funny, the dialogue is witty, the characters are interesting, the actors are all in their places. Very nice, easy movie.
Love of all ages is submissive, and its paths are impossible to guess - that's what this film shows us. This comedy greatly lifts the mood, in particular, because of the situations in which the main characters constantly fall. They are ridiculous, and this makes it even funnier, and sometimes even imagine yourself in a particular situation, and you realize how ashamed you will be, and others laugh. Comic situations and dialogue are a feature of this film. We observe several love lines that are connected and often overlap. The characters have a different understanding and feeling of love, which depends on their age and on the very attitude to persons of the opposite sex. During and after watching, the positive and love that lurks in each of us awakens.
The main character, Cal (Steve Carell), is mired in his dull and homogeneous life, he does not watch himself, and does not stand out. Being in this state, his wife (Juliana Moore) informs him that she wants to divorce. And now he goes to clubs, telling everyone his sad story. This is how Jacob (Ryan Gosling) draws attention to him – a macho, a guy who changes a girl every day. He'll teach Cal the technique of dating girls for one night. But, at the same time, Jacob falls in love with Hannah and will have to ask Cal for help. Unpredictable denouement, which awaits you at the end simply will not leave indifferent, you, without noticing it, will laugh in your voice.
The plot is simple and not even original, but its presentation pleases the eye. The writers tried their best because I didn’t personally notice the blunders, which happens quite often in this kind of film. The director, the cameramen, everything, has done a great job, and it can be appreciated.
Humor is abundant in the film, the movie is full of jokes, and most importantly, there is almost no toilet humor, except for one scene. It was very amusing when Cal gave two slaps to Jacob, as if revenge for other slaps he received from him. There is a strong and funny dialogue between Cal and David, after which, again, there is a smile on his face.
The cast of this film is great, the director managed to collect such a large number of stars and find each place in his film. Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling... Weighty names, aren't they?
This is a film about how to learn how to start a relationship, or how to save old ones without letting your marriage collapse. How to find harmony after many years of married life, how to overcome yourself and regain the former confidence in any actions. It shows how valuable family and friendship are, and how sincere relationships between partners should be.
During viewing, there is a feeling of comfort and kindness when you want to sit over a cup of tea or coffee, talking with your family on various topics.
I recommend watching for those who want to laugh.
I met the love of my life at the age of 15. We went out for ice cream, and then my father started teasing me about my first love, like all fathers. And I said, ‘Well, Dad, it’s not serious, I’m going to date a lot of other girls, I’m going to have a lot of dates.’ That was the first time I lied to my father. I met the love of my life when I was 15 and I loved her every minute of every day since I bought her a chocolate cone. I loved her and after the birth of my three beautiful children, I loved her even when I hated her. Only those who are married can understand this. I don’t know if I can fix it, I don’t know what’s going to happen, I’m sorry, Robbie, I don’t guarantee anything. But I promise you, I will not stop trying! Since you have found your love, never give up!
I wanted to see this movie for a long time, the reason was, of course, Ryan Gosling, but for some reason I always put off watching it for later. And recently I promised to do it immediately and I finally saw this wonderful film.
Cal is over forty, he has a beautiful wife, three wonderful children, a house, a car and a job, everything that a decent family man needs, but then his family collapses, his wife says that she cheated on him and wants a divorce. He is helped by Jacob, a guy who drives girls crazy with his stunning costumes and chic appearance, an incorrigible womanizer who leaves the bar with a new girlfriend every day. He wants to help Cal become a man again. In the end, Cal taught Jacob to love.
I like the story of Cal and Emily’s adult love because I believe that such love exists. Looking at them, I believe that if you love them, you will overcome all obstacles.
The story of Jacob and Hannah liked the most, how great it is to see that a simple girl was able to conquer the incorrigible womanizer who never thought about love, who never talked to the girls about himself, and with Hannah chatted all night. I believe that love exists.
The story of first love. Robbie's love for Jessica is beautiful, the first love when you believe only in the best and don't give up, you try again and again.
Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone - an amazing cast! I'm as excited about the actors as I am about this movie.
Beautiful, wonderful, funny - when Jacob met Hannah's mother, I laughed all over the room, and in general there were a lot of funny moments, incredibly sweet and kind, sometimes sad, and such a good film. I really liked it. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I liked this movie. I wish I had seen this movie before. I will definitely review it. Watch the movie. Love and be loved.
I'm glad you bought me an ice cream. (c)
P.S. Ryan Gosling, the whole movie changing costumes, drives you crazy, by the way. And his body is all the more so.
I believe in kindness, I believe in justice, sincerity, and also I believe in love, kind love, fair, sincere love.
Let me build my review in the form of a monologue, a conversation with myself, without touching the plot and its features.
Whenever I have not yet started watching a movie, I ask myself ' why am I watching this movie, what purpose am I pursuing this?' only after the answers are found, and having made sure that the picture fits all the criteria of my search, I enjoy everything that happens.
I was looking for a movie in which love is multifaceted, I was looking for a long time. And one day, when I saw a friend's CD, on which two actors of interest to me laugh about something funny - Steve Carell and Julianne Moore, at that moment I really understood the idea that what we are looking for is also looking for us.
That same evening, lightning quickly finding answers to the eternal questions to myself, I went to the viewing, which seemed to me to last no more than a moment, so everything that happened on the screen was alive and unimaginably easy. And it was only during the final credits, to the music of Andrew Bird, that I realized that I had just seen a movie about how people love, how people know how to love, and how everyone's love makes them happy and fills their loved one with happiness.
Total: Despite the fact that the film remained underrated not only in our country but also in the world, it is certainly worthy of all flattering epithets and, of course, that it would be loved.

Plot: Coke leaves his wife. Having been dating for years, he can’t find a common language with women. In addition, he also dresses badly. A handsome man named Jacob decides to help him become popular with the opposite sex.
I watched this romantic comedy at home and it made a good impression on me. The plot goes in a pleasant and unobtrusive manner of narration. Each of the actors of this film tried to show his image from an unusual side. I’m not a fan of Steve Carell, but he didn’t make me feel bad about it. His character Coll came out as a man who did not imagine life outside of marriage. But thanks to Jacob, he becomes a real Casanova, even though he misses his wife. Ryan Gosling played Jacob interestingly. Because his hero looks like a “walker”, who has seen everything, but in fact never fell in love. Emma Stone plays a bad girl who is unlucky in love and she decides to give her feelings to Jacob, not knowing what it will turn out. The rest of the actors played at a good level, but their images do not cut into memory. The comedy in the film is good, due to many unusual situations and hilarious phrases that are remembered, such as: "Be above Gant." The melodrama didn't blow either. You believe the feelings of the characters, even though some of them are banal. Like, for example, the relationship of a thirteen-year-old boy with a seventeen-year-old nanny. The film teaches you to try to love and try to enjoy love.
Verdict: a good romantic comedy, which I’m unlikely to watch, but it is remembered for good acting.
"That stupid love" got hooked on the fact that it was real. In this film there is no touch of pathos, no pretentious scenes or snot, which just teem with all romantic comedies.
The film consists of several story lines that intersect, develop and eventually form a single, logical picture.
The main character (Steve Carell perfectly fit into this role) has problems everywhere: with his wife, with children, his whole life goes wrong. And then on the horizon there is a typical womanizer, a kind of Don Juan, who leaves every night with a new lady (who, if not Gosling, plays this role). He was able to breathe new life into the poor guy, upset and crushed. The main character blossomed right in front of his eyes! At the same time, João himself manages to find the love of his life, in an atypical way (a stamp, a guy who sleeps with everyone, falls in love with one who talks and knows how to laugh). If you think about it, this is what happens in life.
By the end of the film, everything is positive. There’s something about the movie that makes it go from incredibly banal to incredibly interesting and light and good. To live, to love, to believe - that's what I want to do after the movie. Be yourself and everything will work out.
Paul and Emily Weaver are a couple who have been happily married for many years. They have wonderful children, a great job, a wonderful nanny and many good friends. Unfortunately, this is all too routine. But the usual order of things spoils Emily's unexpected confession that she cheated on Paul and asked for a divorce. Seeking support, Paul spends all his free time in the bar and tells his story to the first people who came across, among whom was Jacob Palmer – a handsome and confident man. Jacob wants to make Paul a real man and teach him how to win over girls in a few minutes. Lessons are not in vain, because in a couple of weeks Paul becomes a real heartthrob. Any girl in the bar was ready to go to his house for the night, but Paul knew that it was not for him, because he still loves Emily.
Recognized persons:
Face #1 – Emma Stone, who starred in such films as "Excellent of Easy Behavior", "The Servant" and "The New Spider-Man".
Face #2 — Steve Carell, who is known to me as the news anchor from the movie "Bruce Almighty"
Face #3 — Julianne Moore from the movie "Chloe".
Face #4 — Anali Tipton, who played in the film The Warmth of Our Bodies. Face #5 — Marisa Tomei from the film "Beautiful Alfie, or what men want"
Face #6 - Beth Littleford from the children's TV series "Dog dot com".
Plot:
I liked this film the most because it tells a few stories about happy but not mutual love. The film coped with the genre of comedy, because there are so many funny moments in the film, but the best of them in my opinion is when all the storylines cross and a fight begins. With the genre of melodrama, he coped partially, because personally for me in the film There were no moments when what happened to your heart stopped, and if there was, very few. The ending in this film is very kind and romantic, but terribly predictable (except for the last scene with Jessica and Robbie).
Game of actors:
All the actors showed on the screen exactly the feelings they were supposed to show. I would like to single out three girls who coped with their task not only well, but magnificently. I'm talking about Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, and Anali Tipton.
Results:
For the six famous faces in the film "This Stupid Love" I put 3 points out of 3
For good jokes, predictable scenarios and unusual love stories, I put 2 points out of 3
For the skill of our "magnificent three" I put 3 points out of 3
I'd love to watch this movie a couple more times, so I'm scoring another 1 point.

I’m always wary of films with a good cast for fear of disappointment, but This Stupid Love rightly dispelled those prejudices.
This film includes several intertwined stories of really crazy feelings. In this film, the love of almost all “species” is represented: undivided, unequal, sudden, first. As a result, about two hours the viewer watches the development of feelings of several completely different characters: a modest forty-year-old man on the verge of divorce, his teenage son, a playboy from a bar and many others.
It’s funny, but I rarely see melodramas that men like. " This stupid love is just that exceptional case. I do not claim that all representatives of the stronger sex will like, but some will definitely, as they say in modern language, “catch”.
I really liked the musical accompaniment of the film, such unobtrusive, but always appropriate soundtracks.
And I also note a good name – love, after all, is really a “stupid”, sometimes not subject to the laws of logic and genre, a feeling for which we still fight or suffer, humiliate or intercede.
P.S. If you have nowhere to go on February 14, wrap yourself in a cozy blanket, grab a cup of tea? turn on this good movie and, hopefully, you will not regret it.
Amy heard you crying in the bathroom. We all thought you had cancer. Thank God! It's just a divorce!
After reading the plot of the film and studying the cast, I did not particularly count on funny comedy. It was supposed to be a melodramatic picture of a departed youth, a misunderstanding between parents and children and a midlife crisis with a couple of jokes below the waist. But what I saw in this film really surprised me. This Stupid Love turned out to be a very dignified, interesting, easy, and most importantly, funny comedy. I don’t know how, but the authors managed to make a really sweet and delicious comedy from an ordinary melodrama.
This Stupid Love tells us about Cole Weaver, who learns that his wife cheated on him with a colleague at work. And now he moves into a separate apartment, and every evening pours his grief into a bar nearby. There he meets a guy named Jacob, an alpha male and female seducer who decides to make a real man out of Coke. This is my retelling of the plot I will stop. Love line Col Weaver in the film is central, but in addition to it in the film there are several plot branches, telling about other characters and their love . And love in the film manifests itself in different people in completely different ways, we see several types of love from adolescent and unshared, to hopeless and illegible. At the end of the film, all these branches are assembled into one single chain, which makes the film itself not only funny, but also intriguing, and the finale unexpected and memorable.
In addition to the interesting plot, "This Stupid Love" has gathered a stellar and very good cast. Steve Carell, who has found his calling in the role of modest and losers, here in his repertoire, hiding all his problems in himself, he seems to want to start a new life, but does not dare to let go of the old. His friend in the film and part-time teacher Ryan Gosling here plays the role of a real man, and in this guise he is really good. Of all the Gosling movies I've seen, it's this character that I liked the most. Gosling is the best actor in this film. Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon and Emma Stone perfectly complemented this star cast and brought it to practical perfection. Well, of course, the lighter of the film Marisa Tomei, although she did not get a very large role, but it is with her character and her magnificent eccentricity that my memories of the film as a funny comedy are associated. Tomei is the funniest character in this movie.
This stupid love" tells us about the miraculous transformations of people who were helped to find their true selves, and achieve something of the power love. "Madness, stupidity, love" - this is how its real name is translated, and it is much more accurate than our rental, because it is love that pushes people to insane actions, and for the sake of love they are ready for any stupidity. That's what the characters do in this movie, and that's what people in real life do. Before us appeared a romantic, a little sad, but at the same time very funny good comedy. I recommend everyone to see, and especially for couples in love, romantics and people who know how to love and know about love.
