When vices become dungeon monsters Secret experiments - how intriguing... Especially if they have unpredictable consequences. But it is difficult to come up with something new in this area. “Hidden” (let me not change the language of the keyboard, just to add the prefix “3D”) is a completely passable horror film production in the direction of “Victims of Secret Research”.
From the very beginning of the film, we are thrown from place to quarry: Hello, I am a woman scientist, conducting a super important series of experiments to identify almost ideas out of thin air (medical workers will not dig into this formulation), it does not matter how I do it, my goal is this, my patient is in front of you, I discovered (here comes a twist of a dozen incomprehensible clever words). Usually in horror films, they do the opposite: they give the viewer a softer seat, carefully draw into the narrative, pour a little scripted “water”. Here we have to turn on the brain in the first seconds, which is not convenient. How do you eat popcorn? Hey, wait, scroll back, not so fast, I don't understand... What -- uh --
Next, we quickly get acquainted with the characters (why they will all die anyway, probably), we approach the clichéd essence with template steps (again a house, again a dangerous dungeon - a hundred times seen). And then the level of idiocy begins to skyrocket, like a thermometer in a patient. With the appearance of the first “horror stories” (very banal), the characters immediately behave as the real “walking cliches” of the genre. There is no cellular connection (of course, of course, how else), everyone is creepy, but friends descend into the thickest, darkest and slimy corridors, and then they realize for a long time that there is something otherworldly and dangerous nearby. What should I do? Right: hysteria, weeping, trembling, acting like the first victim in the village. But initially there was only one way out: Do not go down to where it is scary.
Boringly and protracted continues a series of scenes using the Great Terrible Suspense, which strains just as much as the bursting light bulb emits. Heroes are still dumb and screaming, yelling and dumbing, their ranks thinning. Finally, in the final, we are waiting for an unexpected turn, putting all the dots on the "e". It looks weak, as it is motivated by the previous thrust, which occurred for an hour. It’s becoming clear why it’s Hidden, but it’s still unclear where the 3D is, apart from the flapping of computer moths. Thank you for using the effect for its intended purpose.
Such horror films usually fail on all fronts: no idea, no proper production, no good rental and box office. Passage material - and period.
