While the fern blooms Fantasy, fairy tale... A project that seemed to be hiding from me. Not only have I not heard anything about it in 10 years, so it turns out that my wife has repeatedly asked and advised to see it! .
I started watching it with disbelief. A fairy tale, but here - especially at the beginning of the series - there is a horse dose of bacchanalia, inherent in comedies of the times of sawing (I am bewildered by my hands). . . First of all, this businessman, ready/unprepared to sign a contract with Knyazev, and his nasty major passion looked stupid, wild, inappropriate, false and inorganic, according to the statement. I also didn’t like Editor-in-Chief Kirill. Well, the Altai wedding ... - facepalm! - for this color reviews in red!! But-- This is where the bad ends and the good begins first, then the good, then the very good, then the very good and nothing, and then wow! So bad sinks (and it's good that it doesn't swim, if you know what I mean!) . . .
Speaking of swimming! Muscovite Kirill found himself in the well of Karagaihi. I didn't know how he got there. That is the essence of the medallion - an ancient amulet, about which the creators tell and show the viewer in the prologue! From now on, the lion’s share of adventures will take place in the Altai Mountains. Sister Kirill Sasha will hurry to his brother on the plane. Soon the company will acquire Face and Arthur, Monday, Max and B>Aunt Ray. I won't detail it. The most important thing is that the legends will come to life!
The series consists of 13 episodes. Episode 14 is a movie about a movie. There it is told just that in Altai, it turns out that there really are various tales: legends, epics and myths. And one of these is this: there is a belief about the grandmother Agapa, who lives a huge number of years, but remains young, because she takes youth from men whom she lures into her trap. But we have fantasy! And here Agapu was made a witch. So powerful that, as it were between the worlds and only partially in ours, it is capable of much! More powerful than any mortal. And even his father-sorcerer, who seems to be more active in our world. By the way, a stunning castle from the log house was made for them by filmmakers with a frequency fence! Now, she needs to open the gates and then only she can fully seep into our world. Arzhan But the owner of the medallion, on the contrary, sealed the gates and Evil retreated! .
Most of the filming was done in nature, not in the pavilion! So in the frame we basically see the nature of the Altai Territory! And this, as it turned out, was the first case when Altai appeared in the cinema in the XXI century!!! Our New Zealand, so to speak! (see film about the film).
This is a very good series with beautiful views and an interesting story. And interestingly developing this story, which is important! And if you do not dwell on the fact that, they say, again Alexander Petrov, then you cease to pay attention to this and before you just Kyril. Yulia Samoilenko - whispering witch Agapa - shine!!! The others, too. Not everyone, of course. Melon I was pissed off... Even it seemed that Roman Kurtsyn was the wrong venue! But then his hero goes through some growth - and norms! This is a project in which everyone goes through [not] certain overcomes! (Agapa, I'm waiting for you, in Whitewater!!!) . . . But Dmitry Bedarev (writer and brother of director Evgeny Bedarev) just falls in love with his skill! Thank you, Dimitri! .
I don’t think ‘watch it or not’ should be a question!! Definitely, yes! That's why. . .
A light fantasy comedy pro friendship and presence without vulgarity and mata
I thought about watching this series solely because of the actor Alexander Petrov, who I like very much (petro-haters pass by, it’s a matter of taste). And here he's in charge. Do you want to try? I read the annotations. Russian fantasy, also comedy, journalist, initiator, amulet, Altai, witches, sorcerers, fern flower, gateway to the world of demons ... this is a cocktail ... Are you serious? Faispalm slightly anticipating the fierce Russian low-quality thrash, I remembered that there is still Petrov, and decided to watch at least one episode. “If there’s a problem, I’ll drop it.” I turned on the video, only came to my senses when someone called me while watching the sixth episode. And she said, "Are you serious?" It’s a great movie, I didn’t expect it!
The good thing about this film is that the directors decided to shoot it in the genre of comedy, not serious adventure films. Before the “Lord of the Rings” our cinema, of course, will grow in 50 years, but the unobtrusive parody can be removed, as it turned out. No, this, of course, is not a direct parody, the plot is completely different, but in the presence of Frodo - Cyril, who through the mountains, rivers and fields carries the "Ring of All Power" - Muasynkh (God, help to pronounce this correctly) to the "Orodruin" - Portal to Umbra, and the crowd of "Guardians" - friends who help him on this difficult path, not forgetting to get involved in all sorts of dangerous and very stupid stories, as well as unexpectedly beautiful shootings not at all in the pavilion in the Moskara and the landscape.
Some do not like the fact that the main character here seems to be an adult man, but at the same time - a kind of small slug in the style of "hug and cry" (or "soup set", as one of the heroines aptly described it), which is not able to ever punch someone's face, but this has a certain charm and realism, it is painfully tough trials fall on his lot. Like Frodo in VK, the hero is the most ordinary guy (okay, not the most ordinary, but we will learn about this only in the second season), who categorically does not want and is not ready to be a hero, and therefore about a third of his screen time is drunk, a third yells, freaks and sobs: “I can no longer, I am afraid, I feel bad”, and another third somewhere lies and dies, or he is dragged somewhere, and no heroic deeds he could never do, if not for a crowd of his dumb, but charming and caring friends. Aunt Paradise performed by Tatiana Orlova - my love forever.
As far as the series goes, no, I don’t think so. It initially has a lot of main characters, who decided to spend a lot of time, so it turned out as many as 13 episodes. Frankly delayed here except that the final, when everything seems clear to everyone. Petrov with the role of half-dead heroes copes well, believe him, pity him. But we, the audience, remember the genre, and therefore we believe that everything will be fine!
In total, this is not a series, but a serial film about humor, overcoming, finding one’s purpose and friendship. There are a lot of love lines there, but the girl accompanying the main character is his sister, which is very pleasant, because all these love snots in each film are already pretty tired. Oh, yes, the rating is 16+, apparently, due to the fact that in the frame there is alcohol (a lot) and blood (sometimes), but there will be no intima, mat and vulgar humor, so you can safely watch with children. Unless, of course, you need not “Game of Thrones”, but an easy touching comedy with a couple of good thoughts.
If anyone does not know, “While the fern blooms” – this, according to the director himself, is a prequel story to the film “Belovodye”. The mystery of the lost country, which reveals the main idea of the authors. Having watched “Belovodye”, you already treat Fern in a completely different way, and I want to reconsider once again to understand all the facets of the originally conceived.
On the one hand, finally waited for a fairy tale series that you can watch with children. Beautiful views, exciting plot, light characters, clarity ' where good and evil'.
But throughout the film, you constantly had to stop watching and make unobtrusive explanations: why the characters behave like this. Maybe that was the writer’s idea too? Why are liters of vodka and wine on the screen? It seems that everyone has chronic alcoholism and no issue can be solved without a polymer. And evil spirits are never shown to drink. But people, and this is very young, constantly drinking. It was very difficult for 8-12 year olds to explain why. But it caught their eye, too. So I want to remember ' conspiracy theory'.
Of course, I would like to see more of our heroes. It's crazy. It's a funny character like an aunt. But the main characters could be a little smarter, a little calmer, a little more adequate to situations - and the price of the film would not be. . .
Review neutral, because the range of pros and cons is very large.
I once thought that the tradition of squealing in any incomprehensible situation is only for Asians (Japanese, Chinese, Koreans), because they do anime differently, dramas do not know how. But then the main character surprised me very much, because he shrieked like a little girl at a dentist’s appointment.
Why are the main characters made so brainless? So that someone, comparing themselves to them, can feel not completely stupid and flawed? Or why? No, really, could give a little more brains to the main character and his sister, otherwise adequately evaluate the series becomes extremely difficult only because of these two characters.
That green-eyed girl's whisper, though, isn't a good thing either. It reflects a tension she shouldn't have. A very smooth voice would have gone more.
Everything was ruined by the director, and the screenwriter got a little messed up. This is the same person!
The case when you can not unequivocally evaluate the film or complete shit or unambiguous masterpiece. There are some good moments, finds, dialogues. But all this is unevenly sewn up, flavored with rugged cranberries of the type of incessantly drinking aborigines of Altai and residents of Barnaul, or magicians with automatic rifles. The character is sustained only by the main character - none. The rest of the situation throws in a variety of hypostases. Wild temper in the first series, in the rest appears perfect sweetness, the content suddenly acquires a mind, the good grandmother is the last evil. Everyone has guns and they shoot at each other all the time. Though. Though. The fantasy idea is quite convertible and if well shot consistently would be very exciting. Special thanks for the open nature of Altai.
I put 7 for dynamism and constant intrigue, for soft humor all the time. But I was left completely bewildered by the insane amount of alcohol that is consumed by all people in the film (wizards and healers somehow dispensed with tea) continuously! What was it - the director's presentation about the residents of Altai, or Russians in general? Like a joke? Propaganda of alcoholism? I wish I could read the answer to that question. .
As often happens in Russian cinema: there is a good idea, but as soon as it comes to implementation, a complete mess begins. So with this movie, it's a fantasy with comedy elements.
A film about the eternal confrontation between good and evil could be very pleasant to watch, because the beauty of Altai breathtaking, the legends of that region are very extensive and diverse, beautiful shooting places. That's where the pros end. The plot revolves around a certain amulet and a way to prevent evil from entering our world. Evil in this film is expressed by a very absurd sorceress and sorcererer, who more resemble an asthma patient and therefore an ever-hot lady and a mixture of bum and leshim.
Most striking is the absolutely talentless play of actors, many clearly overplay, and some, apparently, did not even attend acting courses. Petrov in the role of the main character Kirill is simply something: the whole film he splashes saliva, yells, hysterics, cries, begs everyone and everything for something and skates on the ground, in breaks he manages to run back and forth. Even if the idea was to show GG not a macho superstar, but an ordinary guy, then at least you should not make him a whiner and a tantrum. The main character is illogical, stupid and weak, however, most of the characters of the film suffer from stupidity.
For 13 episodes, the characters are running away, looking for each other, then yelling at each other. Everything is so stretched that sometimes it is sickening to watch, because you could fit into 1-2 series.
Absolutely unnecessary and boring offshoots of the plot, the lack of qualitatively worked out dialogues and any intelligible speeches of the characters kill any desire to watch this “masterpiece” from Russian producers.
How many years our and foreign cinema is trying to make a normal fantasy based on Russian folk tales. Well, we're still waiting.
The series declares itself well: Altai, ancient purely Russian magic, fern, Kupala night ... A bold departure from the Western model of fantasy is sympathetic - the election to the delight of Slavophiles of "his own way", leaving Moscow for Altai and Barnaul. So far, everything is doomed to success - but the creators decided that a little bit is pretty.
The plot unfolds insanely slowly. So boring that it is impossible to watch before the beginning of any action unless you know when it will begin (I personally peeked at this info in the reviews). On the screen, there is a lot of useless : the line of Karina (the party girl-wife of a potential investor Knyazev), and the line of Knyazev himself, to the part of fantasy that has absolutely no relation, eternal catch-up in the forest, devoured for half of all screen time. In fact, having collected all the most necessary, we get an ordinary full-length two-hour film. Why to make this 13-episode series - it is unclear. But we are waiting for the second part, according to the producer, is much more important than the first, because what we saw is only a prologue stretched for 13 hours.
I was pleased with the lack of difference in the game of key and secondary characters, because play weak . Many characters (especially Cyril and Maxim) tend to replay and shout at every appearance in the frame. Very poor dialogue, just a pity to listen. But not as pathetic as the exposition on behalf of the hero at the beginning of each series - this is quite amateurish.
To be fair, it should be noted that numerous Altai landscapes from a bird's-eye view (by the way, differing from titles to credits) are stunning . Local flavor like tourists on kayaks and in tents - too. My hand reached for tickets.
Well, delivered a young, hysterical with his childish voice and in places dull Petrov, who now plays exclusively cool guys.
A perfect example of a worthy idea and a bad execution.

Out of respect for the nature of Altai and the work of the City-312.
The plot of the picture tells about a young correspondent of a state newspaper, publishing articles about reptilians, fortune tellers and other ancient artifacts, which has a circulation and some popularity. By chance, he gets a magical amulet made by ancient magicians in order to close the gates to a parallel world inhabited by demons and sorcerers who seek to break through and enslave humanity. With the help of a sorcery rite, the above-mentioned journalist, leaving the bar, turns out to be in the mountainous Altai, where all his ordeal begins.
The plot of the work is far from new, but at the same time it is not beaten by domestic cinema, which forces attention to this TV series. From the very beginning, everything turns very famously - the main character, not understanding what is happening to him at all, meets companions who find themselves in the same places due to a series of unfortunate circumstances.
At this, interest in the film fades, because the triumph of the absurd and complete surahs begins. All the remaining 12 episodes of the main characters run through the woods, trying to find each other and, in parallel, the ultimate goal - the gate. They get into various troubles that can hardly take place in everyday life, drink alcohol and constantly quarrel. They indulge in these occupations with utter ecstasy, but they no longer do anything. Observing their unorganized movements is exhausting. The apparent playfulness of actions makes you doubt your own sanity and leads to thoughts about stopping viewing. Special attention should be paid to the main villains - the very sorcerers who want to open the gates. There are two of them: a woman who is a textbook evil witch, and a male sorcerer who has hairy ears, an unkind squint and the appearance of a battered homeless man. What is characteristic is that the sorcerer after each blow to the head, of which there were enough in this long confrontation, loses consciousness, which creates a nervous pseudo-comic situation and raises doubts about the competence of the main antipode.
All of the above concerns the directly smeared plot line and the display of character behavioral lines. In such films, not particularly endowed with semantic load, an abundance of action is used to maintain the interest of the viewer. In this case, it all boils down to some kind of confused stupid movement, which causes an irresistible desire to squander a significant part of the video series. As in any fantasy, there is witchcraft, but the presence, frequency and quality of special effects speak about the complete degeneration of magic in the modern world - their rare appearance and a hint of entertainment speaks more about their absence than about the presence.
Summarizing all of the above, I am inclined to state the following: if you are not tempted by the emerging fantasy genre in the post-Soviet space, then perhaps you will not regret the time spent. The audience, having an idea of the canons of the genre as such and fantasy in particular, is unlikely to be able to immerse themselves in the narrative and get aesthetic pleasure.
P.S. Of the positive moments, I can single out the title soundtrack and the exceptional pristine beauty of Altai nature.
While the fern is blooming, it's a cheap, tasteless candy in a beautiful wrapper. Beautiful nature, a good name, a promising trailer, but in fact “well wait” is solid. All the time, good actors run somewhere, shout, swear for no apparent reason. I felt like I had to get a budget. It’s a shame because everything could have worked out.
And all this against the background of constantly voting Heart. No dialogue, no intrigue, no disclosure of images. Too bad. Points exclusively for the beautiful nature and the desire to visit a distant region.

The show is a thing! Among all the delirium that managed to shoot “our”, when you no longer expect from the domestic cinema worth a fantastic series, “While the fern blooms” looks like a real breath of fresh air.
The first thing you pay attention to is the “picture”, the beauty of Altai. Great views, somewhere even happened to be, and it was nice to see familiar places.
The actors play great. I really liked Alexander Petrov in the role of Kirill, especially the fact that he was shown an ordinary guy who was absolutely not ready to face mysticism and, moreover, did not want to become a hero. Even believing in the existence of sorcerers, another world and the Gate, agreeing on words to become that hero, Kirill does not turn into a strong and decisive superman at the snap of his fingers. He doubts his abilities, fears for himself and his sister, and until the very end he is ready to transfer the problems of the world that have fallen on his shoulders to someone else. True, it seemed still a somewhat drawn-out moment in the finale, too long thinking of Cyril before the Gates, when the viewer can only tirelessly close his eyes with the words: “Well, give birth faster!”
The killer couple - Melon and Aunt Paradise (Roman Kurtsyn and Tatiana Orlova), the replicas of these characters will not be forgotten for a long time.
Of the negative characters impressed Nadezhda Igorevna (Vera Vasilyeva) – a very small role, but goosebumps from this lady!
The series is very dynamic, the plot is exciting and you want to watch and watch until the series is over. And humor is very successfully combined in it with mysticism, starting with the first series, when Cyril receives an amulet and by ridiculous chance sheds blood on it. And as for special effects, in my opinion, they are just as much as necessary and they are well executed, fit into the situation.
One more thing to note. The idea of punishing the villain here is expressed not in revenge carried out by the hands of the hero, at the same time, it is not lightning from heaven, not some universal forces, but simply a fatal coincidence of circumstances in which the villain is to blame himself.
Conclusion: these directors and screenwriters have something to learn, even Western colleagues. I'm looking forward to it!
The jungle of the Mesozoic era: cultures zero, mores wild, dogs rabid (Wild week in the Russian hinterland)
I came across this series after watching the recently released Secret City. I wanted to see something more fantasy native. As a result, one of the sites recommended "While the fern blooms." Honestly, I expected the worst, but it turned out that this story is a head above the adaptation of the Panov series of books.
An interesting plot, which is based on our folk tales, tells about a simple boy Kirill, a journalist from Moscow, who by chance became the owner of an ancient artifact - the amulet Maaswang. The magical power of the amulet throws Kirill from Moscow to the village of Karagaihu, on the Altai. After him, his younger sister Sasha goes to Altai. Here, in the Altai, their adventures begin, as well as the adventures of five completely different people - the doctor Maxim who escaped from the watch in the Far East with a broken heart, his rude brother Denis, their aunt Raisa, a simple catering worker, a glamorous student Lika and her unusual friend Arthur. All seven will be united by the accident they were responsible for. And from that moment on, their lives will be a continuous escape, the stake in which will be nothing less than the salvation of the world.
Experiencing together fun and not very adventure heroes gradually from strangers become friends and a good team, which does not care. They change a little and discover new qualities. Klyupik and weakling Kirill becomes bolder and more self-confident, mad Sasha is more prudent and responsible, bitch Lika will become more understanding, Maxim will be cured of longing for lost love, Denis will understand what tact and politeness are, and Arthur will become more courageous. Unless Aunt Paradise changes, but she's a good person.
Hunters are interesting, protecting our world from evil spirits and watching the amulet and combining the spirit of antiquity and the trends of the present. It is quite unusual to look at guys in antique outfits and with guns in hand. I really liked the senior hunter Arjan and his deputy Sting with his specific sense of humor.
But with the antagonists here gave a little flop. Maybe the idea of the writers was such, but the inhumans Agape and her father in the end begin to sympathize. In the end, their goal to move to a safer world and drag their relatives there is understandable. And Agapa is quite mysterious and beautiful, and the sorcerer is funny with his jokes to attract attention. They are opposed by the Knyazev family, a young entrepreneur Igor and his grandmother – a business woman. And if Igor is relatively normal (albeit nits), then his relative is a real monster worse than sorcerers. For the sake of money, she is ready to substitute her own grandson, and with a lethal outcome, and when it turns out that the guy is a little crazy, with great pleasure, appropriates all his money, even without caring at all about the health of his native person. And then you start to understand Agapa's skepticism about people. Why save the world when even the bonds of blood are betrayed with astonishing ease? However, in the same world, in the remote Russian hinterland, where even mobile communication is difficult to reach, there is a place for real friendship and mutual assistance. Where a completely stranger can be helped in time without asking for anything in return. And sometimes such help can come back a hundredfold - to whom a five-liter bun of alcohol, and to whom real love.
While the fern blooms - this is the best Russian series in recent years!!!
The series ' While the fern blooms' is my favorite Russian TV series of recent times.
The series is funny, soulful, kind, and most importantly fantastic. The main thing is that the plot is not prolonged. With each new series, I became more and more interesting.
Of course, the series shows unusually beautiful views of Altai, there were many funny comedic situations, unprecedented adventures, but most of all I liked the fantastic component of this series. Since childhood I have been fond of the genre 'Fantasy' but I had to watch mostly American fiction. Unfortunately, in Russia, this genre is still not really played. And here's finally what I like. And I'm more interested in fantasy about magic and wizards than science fiction.
The plot is exciting. Very interesting story with Olesya, which actually turned out to be Agapa. In general, the numerous reincarnations of Agapa, made the series more spectacular and mystical. The magical duel of Agapa and Arjan is also admirable. In general, the special effects in ' Fern ' were on top.
All the actors did a great job with their roles. Agapa, Cyril, Sasha, Aunt Paradise and Max are the most interesting heroes.
' While the fern blooms' is the best phenomenon in modern Russian cinema.
I just watched the series a second time. It all started as easy to guess with a teaser on the STS channel. Of course he was interested, but there was a sense of deception. After all, we all know that sometimes trailers and teasers just “embellish”, even sometimes not everything that was in the trailer is shown in the series.
The first series seemed interesting to me. I was happy and hopeful for the best to continue waiting for the new series. You know, not for nothing.
With each series it became more interesting. It was a bit sad that the viewer was distracted from the main storyline to other situations. I wanted to know more quickly about the denouement. Not without humor, I can say with confidence that it is in moderation, and most importantly, there are no stupid "sort" jokes when you begin to feel awkward.
The acting is fantastic. The image of Agapa is probably the most attractive - her eyes, her voice - all this is well designed. Alexander Petrov, who played Kirill, perfectly conveyed the feelings of the hero. I felt really sorry for him in many scenes. Feelings that some actor is superfluous here or "does not fit in" - no.
Where in the series with elements of fantasy without special effects? To be honest, this is the first time I have seen a Russian TV series with such effects. And I think it's a big breakthrough. Special thanks to the studio, which was engaged in computer graphics for a job well done. The effects here do not seem superfluous, nor do they overshadow the storyline.
Although everything was decided only in the last series, the desire to watch the series still remained throughout the series. After all, the other situations in which the characters of the series fell were also quite interesting.
In conclusion, I can say that it is better not to miss this series. I highly recommend you watch it. Forget about Russian crime series and plunge into the nature of the Altai Mountains, beautiful history and good acting.
I'm looking forward to a follow-up that's not so soon.
It all started completely by accident: just saw a note in the newspaper about the continuation of the series, clinged to the word fantasy and decided to watch this almost unique Russian series in its genre. I have a weakness for fantasy and folklore, I couldn’t miss it. I have no regrets at all.
The first thing that fascinated me was the screensaver. The charming song of the group "City 312" and no less enchanting landscapes - lakes, rivers, forests, sky ... Stuff, as one movie hero would say. And that magic hasn't let me go yet. As for the rest of the musical accompaniment (with the exception of the song to which the hero runs through the woods, it was very in theme), it was really possible to pick up something more original, and on the other hand, we live under these songs, whether we like it or not.
As for the plot , the impression is twofold. The comedy part is made funny, sometimes it comes to stupidity, but all these absurdities are great to lift the mood. The line of each hero is brought to the logical end, this is definitely a plus. As for the leaf part, it was quite traditional and predictable, although there were also “highlights”, for example, the idea of when exactly the fern actually blooms and how to find it.
Actors. Fresh faces are wonderful. Not everyone, of course, coped with “excellent”, but I did not see any outright failures. The main characters have convinced me. Although I still do not understand why the amulet chose Cyril, perhaps because he still believed in miracles in his heart. I agree with the view already expressed: it is good that he is a coward, because this is our reality. All the more important is that he still reached his goal. Let him help, let him literally dragged to her, but he managed! And he didn’t just close the gates to evil, he conquered the evil in himself—his fears, his doubts, his insecurities. And Alexander Petrov, in my opinion, perfectly embodied all this on the screen. Sasha (Svetlana Sukhanova) simply amazed me with her vitality, stubbornness and inflexibility, despite some scandalousness and absurdity. Melon and Lika, Maxim also became different, having passed through the tests. It is wonderful to see how strangers gradually become friends. It doesn't happen that often these days. Negative characters turned out to be quite standard, although Agapa still harbors some mystery for me.
The special effects were in moderation and looked good. In my opinion, there were superfluous heroes and situations that bear little in themselves, but I am ready to close my eyes to this. Of course, I expected the ending to be more intense and original, but what to do before we went beyond the laws of the genre. One of the downsides of constant drinking, there were too many of them.
Overall, it's pretty good. In any case, better endless soap operas and muzzle. So for appealing to a genre that is rare for Russian cinema, for trying to use the native legends of deep antiquity, for thinking about the vital values of modern man and for what still sounds in my head:
And no one around, it's just my knock.
At the old gate.
I want to write a positive review. But I can easily do the opposite. So it happened in Russian cinema: either good or nothing.
Okay. The show. Russian. With a distant hint of fiction. Yes, unfortunately, with the remote, because all mysticism began only in the last series. Actually, for mysticism, I put a positive assessment. For good special effects, for an interesting idea, for the magic of sorcerers and healers - it was epic and fascinating. And, of course, Agapa. Her appearance in the frame - chic outfits, incredible voice, charisma and "oppressive" charm ... In general, the persona is bright, colorful, true undisclosed to the end.
Speaking of undisclosed moments. You can talk for a long time about indistinct images, endless binge drinking, mates, hysterics, frankly, stupid actions of the heroes ... And on the other hand... What would you do in their place? There is no denying the realism of the series (this is fantastic). Of course, a lot of flaws, a lot of unnecessary. Add writers more magic, less circus. Having fully revealed the image of Agapa and, quite possibly, adding a real lamour between the villain and the main character, it would turn out to be a very good movie.
Despite many disadvantages, significantly exceeding the pluses, I will put the series.
8 out of 10
For a good try, an idea, an original soundtrack and the image of Agapa that won me over.
I want to say something cool, but nothing goes into my head.
To be honest, at first I thought the series would be too childish and uninteresting, so I wasn’t going to watch it. But one night I had nothing to do and decided to watch TV. I came across CTC. It was shown while the Fern blooms. That's how it all started.
The nature of Altai, the soul grabbing the soundtrack, the plot - all this bribed me to watch the series every day. During these 3 weeks, I have become so fond of witches, sorcerers, pagan holidays, legends, that now I am ready to learn more and more about them. The writers and directors did their best! All in moderation. Not too much “unreality,” so to speak. Fairy tale and being are so skillfully intertwined here that even the actors could not spoil the plot. Alexander Petrov perfectly revealed his character. I especially liked his performance in moments of agony. In a word: "Capital"(c).
About the witch Agapu I would like to say separately. I'm pretty sure she's going to be the idol of a lot of girls, myself included. Her moderate tone of voice, hair, eyes! It's all fascinating and fascinating. Honestly, I will definitely do the same hair! And the actress did a great job. For what it is a separate "Thank you!"
In general, I would like to thank everyone who worked on this picture. Their idea worked. And I sincerely hope that the series will gain due popularity.

P.S. The end was the most satisfying. That's exactly what I expected. He does not put an end to the plot, but on the contrary, invites us to think out a sequel ourselves. Maybe we should try.
I did not hurry and write a review here, I decided to watch the series to the end.
Well, now my thoughts.
The film almost from the first minutes drags, it seems nothing special, but there is some highlight in it. I thought for a long time what kind of a highlight this is, and finally I realized that there is no component of what modern films rivet. There is no outright black woman and a sea of blood, mat, endless gang fights, stupid humor, crazy love chains and debauchery. All hard moments are successfully played out and do not turn into a long nightmare. Humor is pleasant, hearing is not annoying. Obscene words are found, but always to the place and they are drowned out by extraneous sounds, so that there is no explicit emphasis on them.
But still, the advertising trailer promised us mysticism and many disturbing minutes.
I'm watching the second, third, fourth series. Somewhere from the fifth series began to get a little upset, because the film rolled into a solid comedy with a slight touch of mysticism. The tense moments where fear and terror would seem to begin were played out and turned into farce. But I was determined to watch another movie. But the viewing still continued, because without obvious horror, the film did not let go of itself.
And it was terrible in the final series. Now it was no longer to laugh, the relaxing first series for family viewing behind a cozy sofa ended. The sharp contrast, of course, introduced into a kind of stupor, but it was just what it needed - I wanted dynamics!
Here's a little spoiler! If you haven’t seen it, don’t read it! /i>
Out of disappointment: the image of Agapa and her father was poorly spelled out, as well as all other sorcerers. It is not clear why they are doing certain things. In some cases, the storyline ends in the middle of a word.
Agapa herself seemed to me to be evil, which was turned for good, especially after the words: “And people are still the same as before...” Pathfinders remained a mystery to me, who are they, after all, sorcerers or mere mortals, or both? Why did Agapa need the Force to rule the universe, control people, support his life, be invulnerable? What would happen if the gate opened? I would like more background.
In general, in 2013 they promise to shoot the second season, perhaps it will be possible to find answers to questions.
My viewing started with the fact that I bought the beautiful views of Altai nature. A big lover of forests and mountains, I could not resist and took up watching Russian cinema. I was very afraid that such a good idea would be spoiled by Russian actors who do not know what it is to play live. But... After watching the first episode, the fear disappeared.
Throughout the series, I was glad that at least one of the directors dared to jump beyond the template of our cinema. And even the TV channel “STS” did not spoil the whole picture. The operator is also praised, filmed normally and, finally, it looks even more like a movie than a series.
As for the actors... They did their best. You can see it right away. They were, as they say, “sweeping and grooming all night.” They played much better than some of us. True, sometimes terribly annoying tantrums and cries of the doctor-Max. His endless lamentations for the lost love of his life. Apparently, the writers decided to bring drama to the series.
I think it was a drama. In the history of sorcerers from another world. They may have come to this world to live a quiet life, and they immediately began to be poisoned. And after Agapa just wanted to go home. Or to have the house come to her.
Agapa, by the way, I really liked it. Image open and finished. Probably the best image from the series. The goals are clear, she does not rush between right and left, sharply did not get, after meeting with the main character. That's good.
Sasha really liked it. Nice actress, she did well. Really good. And even her eternal attempts to escape from the sorcerer did not bother. It was fun. By the way, she was probably the only one in their group looking for her brother when others seem to have forgotten who they were with. And Sasha kept running, questioning, trying to somehow get close to her brother.
Well, no word on Aunt Rai. Great phrases. The most humorous character in the series.
What made me happy about Kirill was that he was a coward. He did not immediately become powerful and all-powerful after acquiring the amulet. I didn’t run through the woods tirelessly and travel millions and millions of miles at a time. On the contrary, the amulet drew strength from him. Thank you to the writers for this, a good idea.
I won't talk about the others. They were remembered, but their images and actions were not fully disclosed and justified. But that's who it is.
As for the end, I was hoping for the death of one of the main characters. That would add to the poignancy. And so, everything ended in the spirit of Russian fairy tales. I knew throughout the series that the gates to another world would not open, because it was a fairy tale. And a fairy tale always ends well. And you don't even know whether to be happy for Agapa or worried. I really loved this witch.
Special effects are perfect. Especially beautiful is the battle in the last series between Agapa and Arjan. Quality and beautiful. And in general, in the whole series of special effects is quite enough. Do not bother, do not fill the series itself and do not interfere with admiring nature.
Soundtracks, of course, are not. It would not be Serdyuchka and Kirkorov, but something more folk. After all, we have so many good bands and singers performing folk.
Thank you to the creators for such a small number of episodes. I don’t like to watch fifty or forty episodes.
Bottom line: is worth watching because it is a step of our cinema to the right level. Yes, there are shortcomings and delays somewhere, but I think we should treat this with condescension. Because this series is much better than other Russian TV series. And the creators tried to take into account all the shortcomings in the works of our cinema. Yes, they did not fully succeed, but they cannot grasp everything at once. Thank you for trying.
From the series impressions and the most positive and rather negative at the same time. Why:
1. all fiction is laid out concentrate in the last three series, before that there was a separate line adventure and mystical line, and the latter – only to the extent that it is not forgotten, no more.
But the final series is really interesting.
2. Extraordinary the mercantilism of ALL heroes is periodically not childishly annoying. True, it dissipates approximately to the last series, which is pleasing, but too soon it comes, since the beginning of the series, which is disappointing.
3. The grain in the series is good, especially in the fantastic-psychological part. But what is happening around this grain: endless pursuits of obnoxious objects, endless escapes from the sorcerer's uncle, long retreats in the everyday life of a gangster - drives into a certain boredom.
4. All melisms and expressive moves in the series are there and cause sympathy, but to an even greater extent, a fresh approach to blurred topics causes sympathy. The main hero is quite a lively guy, although not fully discharged as a character, the aunt of Paradise, briskly dispelling the pathos of what is happening, the bad guy Knyazev, who is even a pity and a doctor in love who understands that there is something more in life than four letters written once on a boat.
If they were still drinking less, swearing, hitting the face, running away, surrendering, shouting and so on...
But it has to be a different story.
Bedareva Eugene - Bravo! - for courage. New luck for our cinema!
A very good show, exactly what I have been waiting for from ours for so long. No pathos, flat jokes below the belt, no notorious American. Good actors, thoughtful plot, wonderful ostas, and most importantly, you feel the quality of the shooting.
Back to the actors.
All very cute, this is a big plus, as it is nice to admire the screen characters.
Loved the look of Agapa, bravo! The image is thought out from and to, moreover, the character itself is interesting and colorful.
But not only did Agapa stand out, absolutely everyone contributed to the series. Each character had its own zest, its own distinctive quality. By the way, from Aunt Rai, I'm just thrilled! Like everyone else, it’s hard to choose a favorite hero.
Humor.
Over some moments really long laughed, and besides, many of the phrases of the main characters for a long time remembered.
- Don't worry about it!
- A good cook doesn't lie on the road. Evil wants to eat too!
-What? Eat? No wonder I'm a monkey in 'Aibolite'Igala!
Since I'm thin, I've missed a little bit of a romantic line, but overall everything is fine. The end was good.
I can't help but mention the computer graphics. As noted earlier, the special effects in the series in moderation, no more than less.
As for the disadvantages.
To my taste, some moments were slightly delayed (this applies to the first series).
In conclusion, I want to say that after watching the series left only positive emotions and pride that our cinema is slowly getting on the right path. I wish there were more of them!
After watching the trailer for the movie, I thought the whole show would be like that. But it didn't work out. Still, the series was interesting to watch (a few episodes left to watch). I was glad that our began to shoot an adequate movie (especially the series), not pro cops, but fiction. The special effects were liked, qualitatively made, filmed the same everything is great and the actors play well.
And only a couple of minuses - on the one hand, there are few special effects and as they wrote in one review that the plot is not sufficiently disclosed.
I agree, but just having a lot of special effects isn’t always good. Like transformers. From the first film was a lot of impressions, and then somehow bored. There are so many special effects here. Just as it follows from the reviews, many simply measure the films in America. And here they did not shoot, so they write that the series is bad. (This is if you take black lightning - filmed clearly according to the American pattern or patrols - filmed like too nothing - but just nonsense turned out.)
And the endless series is also tired.
And about – nothing new – I want to say – and did you watch the series or only the trailer, but apparently this series is not for such “smart” as one of the authors of the review. There are different series and each series has its own effects, etc. And I will say again – I don’t like it – watch American TV shows and movies – there are super effects exactly every 5 minutes.
And no one offended anyone, neither Altai nor Moscow. No Altaians, no one else. In general, this question “has become a terrible mockery of this beautiful land, and a mockery of its inhabitants?” I do not understand where it came from. Again, no one laughed at the Altai land or the Altai people, so there is no need to compose anything here. Just apparently watched the series so well (and the fact that in every 3 films Americans ridicule, etc. Russians is that normal?)
So I think that the series is good, shot, you can say, in Russian. So I suggest you take a look.
And I hope that our still will normally shoot fiction in the future.
Oh, I would like to hope that our filmmakers will finally make a decent series! And everything started so well: a promising trailer, beautiful landscapes, the hero immediately in the first series without unnecessary words fell into the hatch and was straight in the Altai Mountains, which gave hope for the dynamic development of the plot ... But no, it wasn't! All mysticism on this, in fact, ended, although, judging by the advertising, the series was still supposed with some touch of the supernatural.
Then the characters of the series alternately drink, hysteria, yell, lose and find each other in the vast Altai expanses, commit meaningless and illogical acts. . . In fact, somewhere on the 4th series it becomes clear that the plot in this run does not develop completely!
The mystical component of the plot, for which all the action should take place, is present in the background indistinctly and somehow sluggish: well, these witches and witches walk on beautiful mountains and valleys, well, talk, but do not take any part in the development of the plot. They walk on their own, and they run on their own.
The locals who meet the heroes on their way, all as one not in adequacy. It seems that in the Altai region there are not enough free wards in psychiatric clinics and therefore crazy people just walk the streets and, now and then, get in the way of our heroes.
The long-suffering heroes are always fighting with someone, running away from someone, they are repeatedly locked up somewhere, and all in turn: as soon as one is released, others immediately come across. . It's dark. It is difficult for a person more or less burdened with logic to look at this.
For the sake of justice, I want to say that the idea is good! We haven’t done any other series with such special effects in Russia! Well, no one went across the country to work on the series!
The scale is good, but the result was expected somewhat different. After all, there are good foreign TV series that hold & #39; the viewer’s attention to the last frame! I got it! It seems that there is nothing special in them, but I wonder how it will end! And there are no special effects and nature and much more that this creation has! I want to see it to the end, but not here. That's where the real mystery is!
Cement and the hybrid children of aliens – that’s what worries humanity. What treasures? What secrets? What dreams? Send everything far and long...
Like most viewers, he began to get acquainted with this product with a teaser. Naturally, I was interested, and indeed, how can one not be interested in such an intense action in the genre of fantasy so beloved by many, as it was presented to us in that very short video. Two things were alarming: the format (the series, which means most of what we saw in the teaser drew the budget), and the main partner (CTC, with which I have no positive associations).
It would seem that hopes were not fulfilled. Expected one thing, received another, but running ahead I must say that what I received never disappointed me.
Why? Let's go straight.
Computer graphics, which are tired to nausea, here fit quite organically, it is not a lot and it pleases. When the action takes place in such beautiful places, you do not want to look at something artificial. A little annoying artisanal way created twilight time, well, not solid frankly.
Actors. Mastodons of cinema no one promised that for the better, but there are still many familiar faces. The game is happy, the types are revealed, but how deep they are... here is a question for the writers.
I won't say anything about the story. For its objective assessment half of the series is not enough. You can certainly describe the impressions of what is, but it is not serious.
The soundtrack pleased, but only specially written for the series. Here's Serdy and Co. Perhaps in certain episodes our pop and successfully fit into the tempo of the action, but some irritation I experienced.
In general, I have positive impressions about the series, which is strange for the CTC project. "Gamers" tried to leave on a well-received full meter of the same name - did not grow together. “Closed school” with endless series and mediocre idea of “Black Lagoon” simply does not cause any emotions. It's like a breath of fresh mountain air. Beauties of Altai fall in love at first sight, in the dialogues skip the words of writers about modern society and changed values. Only here judging by the comments, everyone hears only drunken nonsense and insult to the image of the Altai.
Well, a comprehensive assessment, as it should be after the final credits. There will be no Santa Barbara syndrome.
I got hooked on the trailer. I thought the Russians had finally made an interesting series. I sat down and was disappointed. Nothing, because. The plot is not traced, everything that happens on the screen is drunken, running and fights of villagers. They do. They drink and talk about nonsense throughout the series. Tell me, who is interested to hear in the series talk about life and the fact that Manka at the dance with Vanka quarreled, and Vanka then beat Senka in the blue? No one. No mysticism does not even smell, a couple of times showed some "Queen of the copper mountain" on everything. There is a gate between the worlds. But again, there is no use, no gates, no search for them, no movement on the topic. A special nervous tic causes the soundtrack in the form of Serdyuchka and Kirkorov.
It is unclear for whom the series was shot and for what purpose. Mysticism? She's not there. To beat? It's never funny. Another miscarriage of Russian filmmaking.
It would be better to rent normal series than to spend money on something that still will not do well.
Watched the first series. I had a good laugh. I am happy for the level of computer graphics. And I was sincerely saddened by the presence of our brother and sister acute inferiority complex, forcing them to react inadequately to such frivolous stimuli.
Mystical power in our country is filled not only Altai - it is filled with almost all its places, so if you shoot fantasy, you can shoot it anywhere. I do not detract from the merits of Altai, no, just beautiful not only Altai, but our whole country! There would be more such films filled with humor, showing its beauty, and not dirty porches and black porn. As for humor... What can you do, brothers? No need to blame the mirror... The events described in the series are only slightly embellished, but in general, completely realistic. The problem is not in the series, but in us, driving drunk on the roads, and knocking down children, building nightclubs and discos without observing elementary fire safety rules, and burning a hundred people in them at once, solving household problems and neighborly disputes with axes and traumatics. Are people better than others in Altai? Nope! The same. So what do we resent, friends? In the mirror?
The show is good! At least it is a lot better filled with sadism and cruelty TV series TNT type 'Interns' and ' Happy together'. And I don’t think that with our current level of development and culture, we can do anything else. . .
Why did the first feature film about the Altai Mountains (with which I personally connect 10 years of life, marriage, a lot of friends and relatives) become a terrible mockery of this beautiful land, and a mockery of its inhabitants?
The Altai people – a people with a rich history, traditions – are presented as “Chingachguki”, petty traitors, some Latin American mafiosi. Everyone is either drinking or hanging out. Indifferent rescuers, stupid Russian, strange and terrible Altaians.
I am not consciously concerned with the fantasy part of the film. It is necessary, having visited such places where pilgrimages of mystics of various kinds are made annually, not to see the richest material for much more fantastic and fascinating stories.
Mountain Altai is a place of search for the mysterious Belovodya-Shambala, and Kerzhatsk region, and revolutionary history, and Roerich places, and shamanism, and still really existing "household" witchcraft. This is Ust-Koksa with Uimon Valley and Mount Belukha, Akkem and Kucherla, Ust-Kan with its hills, Ongudai with majestic mountains and booms, Ulagan with “Berendeev” forests, Kosh-Agach with the sky that begins from the ground, Turochak with the majestic Teletsky Lake. Altai Mountain is a fairy tale that really exists.
It feels like the writers saw the Altai Mountains from a car window under the influence of traditional Siberian hospitality. We didn't dry out. And put all your hangovers on the screen. And the actors ... played as they could. We played badly.
Here, the President is building our dacha. Ongudaya, by the way. The airport was renovated, Moscow-Gorny now flies every week. Come, soak up that beauty... and make films worthy of this place and all of us.
