I like it. The action takes place on board a plane flying to Tokyo from the United States. The first part of the film reveals the characters, their individuality, we learn about their “skeletons in the closet”. Honestly, I did not immediately realize that the director is one of the masters of horror Japanese Takashi Shimizu (“The Curse”). This movie is mystic. I have a lot of nerves.
Takashi perfectly selected the cast. Ryan Quanten, Leslie Bibb and others played flawlessly, there's nothing to find fault with. And how exactly got into the image of Jerry Ferrar and Nikki Whelan – can not tell! The final scenes left me with questions. Well, or the ability to figure out for yourself what and how. Of course, it was not without predictability. I knew exactly what the thief would do. It's not quite clear the thing with the death doll and the hair in the bag. Maybe it's just a Japanese thing.
One of the advantages of the film is the lack of concentration on one character. Another plus that I want to note is an amazing sense of proportion. The film is not overloaded with special effects, and that’s great. Not overloaded with music. In moments, you just stop noticing it, so everything is organic. It's all thought out. A quality movie for a thinking audience. Keeps it from start to finish. I recommend it to all mystic lovers. And remember, death is part of life.

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews. I really liked the movie.
The plot is quite interesting. The intrigue begins with getting on a plane. When a strange passenger, at the request of a flight attendant, with great reluctance removes the box to the upper luggage compartment. And it seems like the whole story will be wrapped on this box, but no! It's much deeper...
What was the cause of the mysterious frightening events? The contents of the box? Suddenly dead passenger? His luggage? The film keeps in constant tension and waiting for something terrible, and does not let go until the very end.
The ending, in my opinion, is magnificent. Although there are many films with similar endings to date, here it looks quite logical.
The actors perfectly coped with their task and conveyed to the viewer the characters of their characters. The arrogant bride, sticking to everyone with photos from her wedding, irritates not only the characters around her, but also the viewer. Her fiancé, forced to endure the habits of his beloved. A guy who works in an ambulance and is always ready to come to the rescue. A true hero who sacrifices himself for others. An unfortunate flight attendant who still can’t do a pregnancy test (I don’t know why I remember her so badly, because her character didn’t play a special role in the film).
To sum it up, the film is great. If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend it.
The beginning, as always, was intriguing, a variety of characters for every taste, funny replicas of a typical economy class passenger: “If only a mother and a child sat next to her ...” And then everything was quite expected. Extremely ridiculous scenes that were supposed to scare us, but in fact only made us laugh. Not a bit of horror, not even horror. Those who are a fan of horror films should not watch, only lose time and be a cap while watching.
But what is strange, the film still keeps from beginning to end, it is not completely clichéd, a couple of terrible moments in it and got laid, but it is interesting to follow the development of the plot, for some reason it did not work out just to take and throw the film - I wanted to watch until the end.
True, there were many similar plots, we have seen all this already, but it was interesting to build your theories and versions at the end, because the film gives food for fantasies: and so it could be.
In general, those who want to be a director and find out what ending they chose for this film, I advise you to watch, the rest of the real horror fans should not pay attention to this film.

Films, most of the action of which takes place in the walls of the cabin of the aircraft, in themselves - a kind of subgenre. Closed and separated from the ground world, filled with strangers, but forced to be together for several hours people – this scenery defines a specific atmosphere, regardless of the genre of the film – horror, thriller or romcom. And, I must pay tribute to the director of Flight 7500 - he easily and quite fascinatingly introduces the viewer to his version of this world, convexly sketching (thank you and worthy actors, of course) portraits and the life background of those who will act on the screen. The live passengers of Flight 7500 with natural and not empty dialogues are interesting to watch and without any mysticism, when it begins ... the film begins to rapidly lose height.
It is quite obvious that Takashi Shimitsu wanted to make something more than a banal horror. The death of one of the passengers from the incomprehensible origin of the attack sets the topic of death voiced by the characters, our readiness for it and the ability to realize its inevitability. Coupled with, as already mentioned, quite lively (and mostly cheerful) characters of the characters performed by good actors, this promises an interesting development of the plot - the conflict of life and death unexpectedly found itself literally in the next chair - the end of everything. That's only when it finally comes to mysticism, the director unexpectedly quickly and easily slides into a broken rut of genre clichés - bravely and against all logic, fragile girls, not long ago quite so themselves from this world and sane ("Bu!), someone's hands pop out of the unknown fog at the floor ("Bu!). Boo!), some damn thing flashes in the reflection of the monitors turned off ("Boo! Boo! Boo! Moreover - and thank you for this - the massacre of victims, unlike traditional horror films, remains behind the scenes, there is practically no blood and meat in the film - but this is still a purely aesthetic question, this circumstance, of course, does not add to the logic of what is happening. But the fact that we so to the very end and did not see that / those, when looking at which the characters screamed that there is urine and died - this is a violation of the "bu" canon, which the director, if he decided to climb into this territory, it seems, should not allow.
In short, neither the philosophical-dramatic fish nor the horror meat came out of Shimitsu, no matter how diligently he pulled in both directions, your swan and cancer. The atmosphere that appeared at first from such unevenness to the end narrows, superfluous, for beauty, details (doll, tubes with hair) are not what do not help explain what is happening, but even more confuse the viewer. And finally, finally and awkwardly cuts off this short (1.20) film strange double ending, another inedible salt-sweet sandwich: the ideological culmination of the film with reconciliation-catharsis of all conscious heroes + dark screen + 2 completely incomprehensible minutes for the final "boo!" before the credits (usually such scraps serve as a promise of a sequel and insert them after the credits).
So once again: with all the clearly felt experience of the director and cameraman, the talents of the actors turned out in Takashi Shimitsu “not a mouse, not a frog, but an unknown animal” – strange and unviable. And it is a pity that under this awkward heap still there is a certain idea, which under the guidance of an experienced director could clearly play the local good actors.
The film was decided to watch mainly because of the director Takashi Shimizu and the plot, which takes place on the plane. Such films are always interesting to watch mainly because of the closed space and changing characters.
At the very beginning of the film, we are presented with many different characters: newlyweds, an informal girl, a couple who broke up, a girl flying to her boyfriend, a young man selling phones, a couple of cute stewardes and others. The set-up occurs on the death of one passenger, and the captain of the plane decides to fly with the corpse without making a stop at the nearest airport. Well, to tell the meaning is not all clear and clear. The theme about vengeful ghosts is beaten and ordinary, you want something bright and scary or non-standard plot, in this film everything is template, predictable and not scary.
Remember the Curse, the ringing there is an atmosphere of terror, forcing and anticipation of fear. Phobia 1.2 fun and funny movies, Puppetman and Kaidan beautiful movies from the aesthetic side. In the same film, there is nothing that could catch the eye and be remembered in memory, only meaningless dialogue and flight attendants in miniskirts, boring and monotonous. Not save even sharp creaks and sounds, there are no scary moments. And the finale is generally strange and illogical, as if the writer did not have enough more imagination, in general complete nonsense and confusion.
Of the advantages, I can note the terrible doll, although she did not carry a special semantic load, and cute actors who tried to play. The average film does not reach the Curse, Merebito, Reincarnation but not worse than modern horror films, for once, I recommend to real fans of Takashi Shimizu.

Our pilot was a real devil! – another Valera, and also not in the topic, but in place.
The country of Godzilla made a tangible contribution to world culture, though all painted and hentai. But let him be the first to make a harakiri who thinks that this under-Atlantida is glorious by the mere intercourse of the kawai nannies. The gloomy nyapon genius looks at the world somehow in a special gloomy way, and the national tendency to suicide has put a special stamp on the moon-faced faces. And while the whole pro-Western world is frightened by loud sounds jumping from around the corner and prices jumping to the sky, the Nippon Koku aborigines prefer to be frightened solely by the awareness of universal corruption, the inevitability of sad and, to a heap, futility of resistance. By the way, pour fresh jets into the pants ... that is, in the genre of horrors, the Nyaponians prefer, mainly on the basis of not so fresh legends about spirits and ghosts, which they have (both legends and spirits) as uncut suicides. A lot, in general.
Glorious traditions J-Horror-s are rich in techniques from the traditional (which is logical) kabuki theater, a whole list of vengeful spirits, one classification of which will take the time and place of a separate article (for example, yokai include yurei, of which, in turn, it is worth highlighting onryo), and an emphasis on the psychological component. Often, the morality of such stories (unless, of course, it is customary to boil down to “everyone will die, and I am already”) is somewhat deeper than Gaizinov’s “who will engage in promiscuous sex in the frame is not a tenant, the director is also a person, he is envious.” Especially loud genre declared itself with the release of series of films "Call" and "Curse" in the second half of the nineties. Loudly it was so that the greedy gaijins, smelling through the smell of fear the smell of money, ordered a remake - only without mahjong and geisha. And so that the poor, brought up in capitalist values, do not melt their brains from the degree of extreme sorrow, invite those responsible for the originals of Asian directors.
In addition, talking about the traditions of Japanese horror, it is impossible (in fact, it is possible, but absolutely not necessary) to keep silent about the influence of it on game culture in particular and, again, on culture in general. All these “Residences of Evil” and “Silent Hills” come from the hieroglyphic program code of the doubtful genius developers “Konami” and “Capcom”. Who knows, maybe someday we will be pleased with the film adaptations of "Siren" and "Fatal Frame".
Takashi Shimizu in the environment of ji-horror is a famous person - the director of "Curses", "non penis canis est". Having migrated by flight to a hotbed of remakes and sequels, he was dissatisfied with the quality of service in flight and sawed down a movie about an authentic flight. It's a good thing he hasn't done a pilot cartoon yet. So, we have a typical Pacific “red-and-fire” flight, an enclosed cabin space, a sick Japanese fantasy, one intrigue and a lack of budget.
Alas and ah. Despite the once brilliant (even in relations with Jason Statham) faces of Amy Smart and the second blonde (I did not remember anything about her intercourse, but I want to set a record for mentioning intercourse in the review), the film has nothing to offer the audience in terms of visual euphoria or acting. Perhaps it’s the scarcity of freely convertible presidential portraits, or in an unaccustomed directing environment, or in a mediocre screenwriter, but the fact remains that the story turned out not to be too interesting. The solution of the puzzle is solved somewhere after the tie, and other advantages, as already indicated, the tape has no.
Therefore - exclusively for fans of the genre, those who are curious to see the adaptation of the Eastern school to Western patterns.

American cinema has repeatedly experienced a real wave of immigration of foreign directors who are always ready to bring their fresh ideas to the relatively worn genre cliches of the Hollywood film machine. It is because of this that directors such as Paul Verhoeven, Peter Jackson, Peter Weirr and many others not only cemented their positions in Hollywood, but also inscribed their names in its history. When the attraction of Japanese directors has always focused on the genre of horror films, given the fact that it is the Japanese who shoot really scary, creepy and strong horror films.
Thus, Hideo Nakata gave the world “The Call”, “Takashi Shimitsu” and so on. But if Nakata has long “gone into oblivion” and nothing is heard about him for a long time, Shimitsu tried to rehabilitate himself after the commercial failures of his previous works and released this film, which has long been considered perhaps the most promising project in the genre. The only sad thing is that the hopes were not met and the film did not turn out even half as it seemed at the beginning of production and the review of trailers.
Of course, the film to the bottom pulls the script, which is absolutely devoid of any action. The whole film is built on numerous blah blah blah blah, which completely kill at least some interest present at the very beginning of watching the tape. The main plot plot began to stand out only closer to the final of the picture and only just began to give signs of the genre of a horror film, but already before that the fuse of audience interest is a little dulled and watching the film becomes not interesting. The only praise in the plot is how voluminously and deeply each of the characters of the tape was revealed and how even with the most flawed script the film ended in the end. Nothing original and in principle quite predictable, but against the background of absolutely "boring movement" throughout the picture, such a culmination is only a very pleasant surprise.
Another indisputable advantage of the picture can be considered a truly luxurious cast, which in many ways pulled this film on itself. Since each of the actors went out of their way to at least somehow interest the viewer and get used to the image as much as possible, which is why it is natural to want to watch until the very end. After all, by an amazing coincidence, you involuntarily begin to imbue with sympathy for each of the actors. Quanten once again proved that he is really a worthy actor, who is undeservedly lost in the second roles and in television series, Smart loudly makes itself felt after a relatively long downtime in her career, and Lesley Bibb, Jamie Chung and Jerry Ferrara willingly please the eyes with their good acting and pleasant characters.
The only bad thing is that having a seemingly very promising idea and a really decent cast, the director of the film Takashi Shimitsu could not beat all this at a decent level. Moreover, giving once again to make sure that since the time of “Curse” has flowed too much water and once the maestro of horror films cavity lost his passion and talent to scare the viewer and keep him in suspense. Since behind a decent shooting in the locations of the aircraft and at least somehow the atmosphere of intrigue and lost all the good that can be said about the direction Shimitsu. Directing, in which there is absolutely no suspense, horror, scary moments and a strong atmosphere promised to us from the very beginning and at the expense of the former merits of the director Takashi Shimitsu.

7500 is absolutely not the movie that many have been waiting for at the production stage and another 2 years until it could not find a way to the audience being a finished product. Shimitsu absolutely lost the opportunity to somehow scare the viewer and due to this, the film turned out to be very boring, monotonous and even prolonged despite its small timekeeping in 80 minutes.
Nightmares, whose action unfolds on board the aircraft have already become a completely independent sub-genre of both thriller and horror. Over the past ten years, filmmakers have worked hard and released a number of remarkable paintings, the action of which takes place at an altitude of several kilometers above the ground. Remember at least “Snake Flight”, “Night Flight”, “Height” and “Born to Fly”. In each case, the heroes had to confront a completely different threat - from quite tangible snakes to the invisible presence of otherworldly forces. And now finally came the turn and Takashi Shimitsu to turn your eyes to the sky. The director, whose name is inextricably linked to the horror franchise The Curse, has not appeared on the audience’s radar for several years. After returning from Hollywood back to Japan, Shimitsu made several paintings, but they were created exclusively for domestic consumption. Many critics have already written off the director, predicting the fate of Hideo Nakata, the author of the imperishable “Bell”, about which now absolutely nothing is heard. But Shimitsu still tried to make his way back to the cinema for the widest audience, returning to the United States and putting a horror about the misadventures on an airliner called "7500". Many fans of the horror genre long before the premiere of the picture put it on the waiting list. And this is no wonder, since in addition to the famous Shimitsu in the creative group was a real star cast. And although celebrities here mostly represent the second tier, but they never lowered the bar of their creativity to the category “B” and below. So meet Amy Smart (“Adrenaline”), Ryan Quenten (“Dead Silence”), Leslie Bibb (“Iron Man”) and Jamie Chung (“Classmates”). The composer of the tape is the famous Tyler Bates (“John Wick”, “300 Spartans”), and the script for the tape was written by Craig Rosenberg (“Uninvited”, “After Sunset”). It seemed that such a famous team of filmmakers simply unable to spoil the case and we should have expected one of the best horror films of the year. But it didn't work out. 7500 is a surprisingly monotonous, guileless and secondary film that chronically fails to surprise the viewer. This is definitely a sentence.
The plot of the film describes the misadventures of passengers of an airliner with serial number 7500, which flies from America to Tokyo. Before the flight, we get to know a number of characters, some of which cause some interest. Naturally, male attention is primarily attracted by two charming flight attendants, Laura Baxter (Bibb) and her young partner Susie Lee (Chung). Girls with confidence and calm seat passengers in places, fulfilling all their wishes. Among the tourists there is a couple of newlyweds in the face of not to the extent of demanding, talkative, but nevertheless quite harmless Yakinta (Scout Taylor-Compton) and her patient husband Rick (Jerry Ferrar), in addition to them, our attention is drawn to Brad (Quenten) and Pia (Smart) Martins, who go on vacation together, but in fact their relationship has clearly failed. We also get acquainted with the wily dealer of a wide variety of gadgets Jake (Alex Frost), upset by the possible pregnancy of Rachel (Christian Mendoza) and the representative middle-aged man Lens Morrell (Rick Kelly), who is clearly nervous, as he carries with him a mysterious antique box, which no one is allowed to touch. Having finally set off for flight, the crew is faced with an unforeseen situation, during which the plane gets into a terrible storm and a catastrophic change of pressure hits the passengers. As a result of the accident, Mr. Morrell dies and no one on the plane is able to prevent it. In fact, immediately after such a tragic incident, much more sinister episodes begin to occur. Passengers notice ghostly silhouettes in the reflection, and one of the tourists and the dead body disappear without a trace. So flight attendants and sober-minded passengers will have to pull themselves together and find answers to all questions before mysterious forces destroy their flight.
At first, “7500” causes some interest, as the creators paid a lot of attention to revealing the images of the characters. Indeed, thanks to a couple of tricks, we know who is having an affair with whom, who is about to break up, and who is a kind of individualist anarchist who goes against the social system. But when the flight itself begins, the action slows down greatly and Takashi Shimitsu artificially tightens the timing, since nothing really interesting happens in the frame. The camera now and then concentrates on the girl checking the pregnancy test, as well as on the talkative person who wants to show everyone her wedding photos. I do not dispute that at first it is very funny, but when this goes on for ten minutes and is not going to end, then come to mind not the most flattering thoughts about what is going on. Moreover, the timing of the tape is meager 80 minutes. I don’t even need to say that there is no suspense in the picture. Of course, the dynamics of what is happening is slightly accelerated with the death of the owner of the old box, but here Shimitsu does not show any originality, but reduces all the frightening moments to a faded repetition of his own techniques from the Curse.
However, despite the impersonality of the story told, 7500 can boast of a couple of pluses that, although they do not affect the overall impression of the viewing, but the weight does not allow Shimitsu to slide into a blatant failure. The first and most significant plus is the cast. The actors tried as hard as they could to breathe life into their characters and the first third of the timekeeping worked hard, because it was then that we learned all their secrets and “skeletons in closets”. And even if in the future they had nothing to play, and had to move intelligently from one end of the plane to the other, but we at least will be pleased to watch the performers, whom we have already seen somewhere. Well, the second plus relates to the technical component of the project. First of all, I would like to thank the operator David Tottersoll (Star Wars 1-3), who was able to show a really juicy picture in rather limited conditions.
As a result, I want to say that "7500" is a passing horror that is not able to bring something new to the genre, and the classic plot patterns here look surprisingly faded and unexpressive. The picture is not something that can not frighten, it is not even captivating. Director Takashi Shimitsu did his work as if on a factory machine, completely forgetting about his passion for his offspring. Of course, there is one unexpected twist of the plot in the picture, but it, firstly, has long become a classic trick of dozens of filmmakers, and, secondly, it is easy to predict it from the middle of viewing. Whether you see the picture or not is up to you. But personally, I expected so much from her and was so disappointed.
Apparently, the maestro of horror in the somewhat distant past, director Takashi Shimizu, in recent years managed to lose just his whole fuss. There is no other way to explain the fact that after all the great “Curses”, the man began to shoot some gray mediocrity, this includes his “Labyrinth of Fear”, released in 2009. I definitely believed and counted on Shimiza, as his Curses are still one of the most creepy horror films for me. It’s no secret that I’ve been waiting a long time for his new 7500. Unfortunately, Shimizu and this time could not surprise.
The plot in the picture is quite simple and uncomplicated. A group of people traveling by passenger plane to Tokyo are confronted with unexplained, paranormal phenomena aboard a ship. In this regard, they will have to confront an unknown supernatural force and try to survive in unusual conditions.
First of all, the fact that some more or less interesting action here begins after a good half of the film, or even a little more. Only then, there are some clear hints of horror. What kind of horror are we talking about? There are very few frightening moments in this work by Shimizu, and many of the methods of intimidation look extremely faded and banal, although it is worth noting that a certain handwriting of the director is still felt, but only in some moments. The creator of “The Curse” simply forgot how to scare the viewer and unfortunately for me, it became an unambiguous and incontrovertible fact.
Meanwhile, the cast picked up very good, personally me and this circumstance initially spurred to viewing. I think Ryan Quanten is a very worthy actor and his role in True Blood is one of the best but rarely popular TV actors making their way into the big movie, a really good movie. “7500” is not a good movie. By the way, there is a quite pleasant female composition, such girls as Amy Smart, Leslie Bibb or Jamie Chung are very pleased with their presence. I have no complaints about the actors, it is another thing that their roles here are very one-sided and play almost nothing.
At the end of everything, I want to repeat the above, Shimizu lost his senses and completely fell apart, not the way he was before. “7500” although slightly better than the same “Labyrinth of Fear” or “Horror Rabbit”, but does not reach the series “Curses”, even approximately. I do not recommend spending time watching this work, because it is impossible to scare the 7500, and bring something new to the genre too. The picture came to light only for the most loyal fans of Shimizu, most of whom, in the same way, expect one disappointment.

Initially scheduled for release two years ago, the film was still presented to viewers, although most countries that bought the rights to this film, released it immediately on video media. The brainchild of a bankrupt film studio could claim a more serious marketing promotion, because despite all the confusion in history, the film is definitely not one of the worst.
Moreover, in addition to "Snake on Board" and partially "Langoriers", a lot does not come to mind from this, so without showing whims, it is worthwhile to recognize the film "7500" partially justified the expectations. Everything is tied up for quite a long time, but also atmospheric, a cursory acquaintance with the main characters, the friendly staff delivers drinks, and then the plane falls into an air hole.
It makes no sense to reveal the plot further, since there will be nothing to look at then, although if we confess, the denouement of the film is weak, or rather, suspense is catastrophically small and the film should last an extra ten to twenty minutes. Therefore, it turns out that the atmospheric half of the film is quickly forgotten due to the mingled large vinaigrette in one plate closer to the end.
However, to say that the denouement spoiled the initial pace of the picture can not, the filming takes place not in cardboard boxes, and well-thought-out scenery of the aircraft, the pilots and staff try to portray the plausibility of the flight. That for further storytelling is a huge plus.
And the actors did not pump up, absurd characters at a minimum, and the acting is satisfactory. Therefore, to be honest with the subject of the alleged trailer was expected to see a much worse spectacle, and so it turned out a strong and not pretentious genre mystical thriller.
